Consider this- Steven wrote this when he was 16!!!
Yeah, I was going to say, technically it was released in '73, but it was written in the 60's!
This was early 70's and was & is a banger.
"Janie's Got A Gun" and "Walk This Way", are two of many, many more great Aerosmith songs!
For all the people that doesnt know. Eminem uses this songs sample in his "Sing for the moment" song. Absolute banger both of the songs.
Who care?
@@gthewolf7948 not the uncultured ones it seems :)
This one needs to be seen live. Steven is still kicking ass.
Originally released in 1971 and re-released in 1973 when it became huge hit!
Love my Aerosmith boys from Massachusetts 💞💞💞
This song is timeless❤️❤️❤️❤️
My dad was a teenager in the '70's; I know all about this music
There is 70's Aerosmith and there is 80's Aerosmith and though I am glad they were able to reinvent and survive this long - I don't think I need to tell which Aerosmith is best!
This is ROCK🤘🎸
The magical dedicate that has left its mark with epic timeless bands. Steven Tyler is brilliant in it! 🤟
Totally agree💞💞💞💞
Can't believe you haven't heard this.. epic.
I remember this song on guitar hero Aerosmith I knew a couple of singles from them fun game.
That vibe is what is called "70-80s rock" lol
It’s amazing how clean Steven Tyler’s voice is in this recording. It doesn’t have the raspiness and the trademark sound that he developed later in his career. Though there are definitely recordings of this song out there that were done later that have that sound in it.
There is a whole lot more to Aerosmith than power ballads. To fully experience Aerosmith, you need to listen to some of their 70's hard rock songs. "Walk This Way" is their biggest hit of that era and genre, but "Sweet Emotion" and "Nobody's Fault" are good examples as well.
🤘🏼💕 One of the best songs of all time…as a Tori Amos fan you owe it to yourself to listen to her cover of it… if you listen to it from the beekeeper tour live, you get to hear her tell the story of how Aerosmith protected her little girl during a blackout one night when they were on tour in Detroit!
I love Aerosmith and this song, but I have a "misheard lyrics" confession to make about this one: (1973-74) I used to think he was singing "Sing WOMEN, sing for the year; Sing for the laughter, sing VOLUNTEER". There I was, a young woman of 9-10 yrs. old, complying and voluntarily singing along 🤣 . It's still hard for me not hear what I thought I heard when it's actually "Sing with me, sing for a year, Sing for the laughter, and sing for the tear" 😂😂
me favorite music
Nothing country about this. Maybe it's reminding you of something else? This is considered a 70s rock masterpiece.
country???
Train also does a cover of this song that is worth a listen.
YES! And I didnt care for Train when they first came out. But they performed this on Aerosmith: Icon with the band watching and were excellent
Your grand parents are way cooler than you think. Best music in history.
Aerosmith great rock band from the 70's. Need to react to AC/DC -
AC/DC - Thunderstruck (Live At River Plate, December 2009)
country???????? LOL!!!!!!
Please listen JANIE'S GOT A GUN, their darkest song. A masterpiece!
Greatings, Anton, from Malaysia. Please more Depeche Mode. Great early DM: 1981 - ice machine; photographic; just can't get enough; 1982 - see you; leave in silence. 1983 - everything counts. I will wait on your channel.
You should check out the POST MODERN JUKEBOX version of this by Morgan James! PHENOMINAL!!!!!!!! She sings it in a very Bluesey fashion!
The "yacht rock" artist you were thinking of was Christopher Cross.
WOW, No Billy Squire, or Ronny James Dio on this list.
When I was a kid my dad used to have a sports car so he would drive me around while I sat up on the back of us going slowly around or Apartment place! He would BLAST songs by the likes of Aerosmith, Johnny Cash, AC/DC etc
Stop liking my comments people will talk 😂
"Yngwie Malmsteen & Dio" has a really good cover of this one. Better than the original in my opinion.
React to Alexandre The Great by Iron Maiden PLEASEEE
Do some Alannah Myles or Amanda Marshall....
I have a coworker who grew up more with 70s rock (I'm 80s rock) and while he likes Pink Floyd, The Who, Black Sabbath and Van Halen, he hates Aerosmith.
I dont get it. 🤣 this song was their 1st single released in '72
Country? Lol
Yeah it’s not anywhere close to country, lol. Listen to live version. Live is way better. Especially the MTV 10th Anniversary show with the Orchestra. His voice will blow you away
Classic. When people say 70's rock this is where I go. Also, sadly, the beginning of the end of Steven Tyler's voice.
The end of his voice? More like the beginning of his real voice. Steven himself doesn’t like how he sounds on the first 2 albums. He was not sure if he could sing so he changed his voice to what he called his “Kermit the Frog” voice. The raspy voice is his real voice and has held up incredibly well for 50 years, and still going. I much prefer the raspy voice.
I wouldn’t consider Aerosmith to be country! Please!
