Aerosmith have been around for many years, they do have some rocking songs as well as some great slower ones. Try "Sweet Emotion" or "Walk This Way" by them. I think Phil will appreciate the vocal sound as it is more in a rap style (I'm sure that style is called something different, but when we were young we used to joke about Tyler being the original rapper when those two songs would play).
50 years later and they are still rocking im shocked steven made it out of the 80s and here he is at 75 and still singing all the songs in their original key absolutely crazy. Love dream on the mtv 10 anniversary is out of this world
Definitely a band you need to discover more of. They’ve had a long, successful career and a zillion hits but my favorite stuff will always be the early albums from the 70s. Dream On is pretty much another power ballad. You really need to do Walk this Way or Sweet Emotion next is my suggestion. From the mid-70s. If you wanna hear them rocking out!
Their farewell tour starts this month. I’ve seen them live front row seats, multiple times. More than I can count. Steven is the Demon of Screamin’. The things that he can do with his voice are amazing. The fact that he’s touring at 75 is a testament to his talent. Joe Perry on lead guitar is stunningly talented. Brad Whitford on rhythm guitar, Tom Hamilton on bass and Joey Kramer on drums. All original band members, still playing together. They’ve had their share of fights, drugs and rehab. Steven and Joe are actually known as the Toxic Twins. In live shows, it’s incredibly exciting. Steven is totally in control of lighting, sound and band direction. They have live giant screen monitors throughout the arena, directed by Steven. The band is so good, so natural. It’s a shame your generation will not experience it. Their music, videos and album are legendary. They did many stage videos. When selecting songs, try official videos. Steven complained a lot about having to make videos in the 80s but they were really good videos. Steven is possibility in the top five live performance front men in rock music. As many times as I’ve seen them, the only other comparable frontman would be Bruce Springsteen. These men started young, in the 70s and helped develop the rock genre into a timeless music full of love, fun, sex, drugs and more fun. In an age when talent comes from electronic devices, lip syncing and lyrical hell, it’s good to learn from the masters. Enjoy the ride.
It's not just Steven's voice that makes this great, but the entire Aerosmith band. Joe Perry on that guitar is just outstanding and that drum work just drives you. I've not heard Eminem’s version, but the only cover worth mentioning is Morgan James from Post Modern Jukebox, which I highly recommend.
I thought they had already done that one but I just looked at their channel and they haven’t. It sounds like they may have seen the movie, in which case they might have seen or heard the song if they let the credits roll - but it’s more special when you know that she’s his daughter.
@@Tommysimonsen Okay, that’s when they were talking about her being his daughter. That one is still up. I was talking about the end credits video of “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”. I love how they show Steven Tyler on the screen (instead of Bruce Willis) as she reaches her hand toward him. It really is more special when you know he’s her father.
Saw Aerosmith twice. My girl & friends were sitting off to the side a bit , like 6 rows back. And the drummer Kramer was known to throw his sticks into the crowd. So at this concert he threw one toward us and I caught it. Still have it and took some great pics. This concert the one I'm talking about was in 1974 at the Aragon Ballroom. Many of other bands i saw there. All my teenage years were in the 70's. Best decade ever!!
Aerosmith is iconic American rock. They had a rough stretch on a personal level, but they persevered and earned their place in music history. Much respect. Love your reactions. Stay authentic.
Lucky winner lol? I don't use the app you mentioned, and not looking to win a prize😛just commented on a band that pretty much started my Rock journey at 10 yrs old🙂Great channel btw,😏👍
Saw Aerosmith in concert circa 1976 as a teenager in Montreal. Backup band was Rush. Yea, that was a good concert. 😁 First time hearing Rush. At the time, Aerosmith was in the middle of their partying binge and so weren't very tight musically but put on a pretty good performance. Rush was rising and hungry and super tight. They stole the show!
That moment when you realize the artists of today's era that you love for their fire music actually sampled music of yesterday's GREAT and legendary artists!! 😊😊🔥🔥
They are arguably the best American rock and roll band ever.. Their early 70's stuff is truly some of the great R&R out there. Toys In The Attic, Kings and Queens, Walk This Way, Back in The Saddle... so many great songs.
Need to react to postmodern jukebox featuring Morgan James cover of" dream on". 30 million views and Morgan James vocals will blow the roof off the place. She is a great singer
Listening to rap and hip hop that ages like milk might explain why you haven't heard of one of the greatest songs of all times. A great rock song ages like fine wine!!!
Aerosmith was my first concert in 1975. I loved them when I was a kid and I still love them today. It would be fun for you to react to Walk This Way and also to the RUN DMC version, because it really started the rock and rap hybrid.
great reaction guys... i strongly recommend you guys check out a cover of this amazing classic by postmodern jukebox with morgan james. it is completely reimagined in a vintage early 1920s jazz rendition from a female perspective.... very similar to what they did with "creep" and haley reinhart. as much as i appreciate the original, it is just as good . take care and enjoy! 😎
I tune in to your channel because I really enjoy sharing music with the two of you. I would listen if you had music you love and wanted to share with us. Thank you both!
Some of their very best music is from an early album called Get Your Wings. That album is absolutely loaded with genius level rock and roll. My 3 favorites are Woman Of The World, SOS (Too Bad) and Lord Of The Thighs. You can’t possibly think you know Aerosmith without hearing those 3 songs. Merry Christmas and much love ❤️
Great song, can't go wrong with the 70s music. You both are so happy together, God Bless. Just thought, Happy Together is by the Turtles, that you will love to hear.
the incredible Screamn Tylor, he still did it a few years ago.at the howard stern show 2014 he performed it life and SLASH (guns and roses) did the guitar parts.awesome..
I saw Aerosmith for the first time in 1972 at the Surf Ballroom in Hull MA for $5.00. My best friend and I stood outside the record store in Quincy, MA, on January 5th, 1973, waiting for the store to open just to purchase this album. I still have this album.
Now that you have done this, don't wait too long to listen to PostModern Jukebox with Morgan James covering this song - i think James is the best female vocalist out there right now and PMJ is just a ton of tun - they do vintage-style arrangements of rock and other songs. VERY COOL!!!!
Aerosmith has many, many great songs. Here are a few from the early days: "Make It", "Lord Of The Thighs", "S.O.S. (Too Bad)", "Train Kept A Rollin' ", a cover, ""Toys In The Attic", "No More, No More", "Back In The Saddle", "Rats In The Cellar", "Combination". Have fun.
❤ Great reaction! I love watching the two of you jamming with the music! You know this studio version feels so tame to me! I have seen him sing it live (on TV for me). It's just has so much more energy. At the end when he hits the high notes; there was a commercial (no clue what the ad was for! LOL) But there's a couple guys in front of a huge mirror. Stephen Tyler walks in and does about 3 "dream on's" and then the super high scream - and the mirror shatters!! LOL 😅😂❤
1988 Cow Palace, I saw them with "Dokken" Aerosmith has such a fab catalog. So many tunes. Super fun, "Dude Looks Like A Lady" But, "Back In The Saddle" "Train Kept A Rollin'" or, "Last Child" are super cool tunes. Great Reactions and "Mama" always looks good. You tell her that every day yes, ok! You must watch, "Live At Capitol Center" Largo MD 1978 "Dream On" that is a legendary performance of that tune. Peace On Ya
Ran into Steven Tyler about 15 years ago playing quarter slots at Caesars in Las Vegas. Never seen anyone happier going from machine to machine with his bucket of quarters. Saw him later that night in the 808 Restaurant.
One of my favorite songs! Saw Aerosmith & Motley Crew in the early 2000s. A good chunk of people were there just for The Crew; not me, though. I was there for Steven Tyler and Joe Perry (lead guitar). When the first few rows emptied out, I was able to run up to the stage. When they started singing this, I was overcome with emotions. When Steven looked down at me while singing, it was one of the highlights of my life. I cried. 💜
Definitely their most popular song or maybe Walk This Way. Janie Got a Gun and Back in the Saddle, and Dude Looks Like a Lady are some of my favorites.
LOTR actually has one of the most beautiful musical scores of all time. Along with unreal scenery and magnificent horses. And it has some beautiful underpinnings. Same with “Narnia” Give ‘em a shot.
Sam, if you like Lord Of The Rings, Listen to Led Zeppelin 'Ramble On', it's about LOTR. Led Zeppelin were big fans of the Books and they have a few songs that reference them.
Great reaction Sam and Phil! Aerosmith has lots of music to explore. I won't suggest anything because I'm pretty sure others have provided extensive lists. However, now that you've heard the original, I'd like to ask that you go back to Postmodern Jukebox to hear their take on it. They've written a very good arrangement for it and you will be introduced to a powerhouse singer in Morgan James. Thank you
Former understand this song what is written when he was very young it was the first song he ever wrote that was before he was in a rock band still in school
Saw them perform this at huge outdoor festival in 1974 when they were not yet widely known. Their set was early afternoon had not yet earned the prime spots.
Great Song Great Band From my Favorite Aerosmith Album. Their Debut Album 70's Early Aerosmith is the Best Aerosmith PS Sam looks Beautiful Every Day !
Listen to Sick As A Dog/Nobody's Fault. Do NOT split these two! They go together seamlessly. It will enhance each song. The first four albums are classics. They open a lot of their sets with Toys In The Attic and You Gotta Move is a great live show.
This song totally launched Aerosmith into the stratosphere! that first album isn't great, but this song was a masterpiece . their next 3 or 4 albums are their best songs by far. Toys in the Attic and Get your Wings are my favorites. solid band all still alive too! they stopped doing drugs and drinking in the mid-late '80s and it's helped them.
There is another great Aerosmith song that was sampled by a Rap/ Hip Hop group that turned into a huge hit! The fairly “unknown” group Run DMC sampled Aerosmith’s “Walk this way” amazingly, here even with the collaboration of both in a stunning and funny video!
Never really appreciated the song until I heard the Morgan James cover of it. She now owns this song and hearing parts of it sung by a Julliard trained vocalist as opposed to being screamed really highlights the lyrics.

To me the greatest rock song came off of the second album in the name of that song is train kept a-rollin all night long and it's a cover song The Yardbirds but it's a definite must listen to course they have a great library of songs I would say jump in that rabbit-hole with both feet and see where it takes you
The 70’s Aerosmith was the rocking Aerosmith - they got more pop music and ballad stuff later in their career. This one is from the 70’s and slower too- but still a great song.
"Love in an Elevator" "Rag Doll" "Janie Got a Gun" "Sweet Emotion" "Walk This Way" "Cryin" "I Don't Want To Miss a Thing" "Dude Looks Like A LadY"
All amazing 🔥🔥💯💯

Their #1 hit. The fact that it's been covered & sampled so often speaks to just how great it is. Thanks for your reaction.
To think originally it was barely a minor hit at the time. Crazy stuff.
Back in the Saddle and Last Child are worthy Aerosmith songs for sure!🤘

Eminem's version is quite solid. He uses the music as a beat and adds lyrics then the chorus is from the song.
That is my all-time Aerosmith song....may even be my all-time fave song
Liv Tyler was also in Armageddon, Aerosmith made the sound track to it. I Don't Want to Miss a Thing.
