I can’t choose a favorite, I have too many. Nobody’s Fault, Last Child, Back in the Saddle, Dream On, and Sweet Emotion are a few. I’ve seen Aerosmith twice. I saw them the first time in 1977 in Arkansas. They were so loud and so high on drugs I left the concert early because they sucked. When they came back to Arkansas in 1986 they had all gotten clean from drugs. I was right on the stage, I actually ran my hand from the tip of Steven Tyler‘s toes all the way up his leg as far as I could go which was about to his knee. Lol I was bad lol sure was fun though! It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. They put on a heck of a show. I still talk about it today. Steven Tyler‘s voice was on point. Each guy in the band did his job and did it well. It was an amazing show sound quality, music , the mindset of the band, all of it was amazing. I would love to see them again. They Were so good the only way I knew that I was not listening to a studio recorded album, was because Steven Tyler would add Lib and switch up the songs a bit. That’s how I knew it was live! They were that good. They sounded like a studio recording. It was just about perfection.
@@jamestate5059 yes, but by comparison, it doesn’t rock and groove like the 70s stuff did. Best part about the 80s was the cleaned up and got healthy so they could keep going and still be with us today. They did an admirable job of adapting to the MTV era and updating their sound with the times, but I just happen to prefer the more raw and gritty sound of the 70s.
"Walk this Way" was an Aerosmith original hit in the 70's. Run DMC approached them in the mid eighties to to rerecord it and make a video. It worked out well for each. It became a hit for a second time and breathed new life into a stale Aerosmith and shortly after they recorded "Permanent Vacation" which was a huge hit. Followed by "Pump" in 1989, which became one of there biggest albums.
I love seeing ppl listening to early Aerosmith for the first time....their music is a ride for the soul, like no other. Been a fan since I was 11...& it's 50 years later.... Aerosmith is my favorite .....i love many others, but Aerosmith has been with me almost my whole life.
TNT, in 1966 there was a band called "Chain reaction" with a song called "When I needed you" Steven Tyler was 16 or 17 He sang this song And played drums!! In 1973, 1st Aerosmith album "Dream on" Tyler is 24 yrs old. I was in Jr. High school when I first heard this, has been my All time favorite band since. Tyler, Hamilton, Whitford, Kramer, and Perry.. Thank you!!!
Sweet Emotion......Last Child and Back in the Saddle are worth listening too.....even No More No more is a good one....They were at their best in the 70"s, as thats where these songs were from
Back in the Saddle again. Sweet Emotion. So many songs that I love. We played 8 track tapes of Aerosmith with huge back window speakers, blaring it loud and got us in party mode in 1977!
I can remember sitting in my car at the drive in listening to Toys in the Attic. On 8 track. One evening when there was nothing else to do so we ate some acid and listened to Black Sabbath while we watched Charlotte's Web.
agreed....those that want to call Aerosmith a sell out after the 70's surely haven't been in a band that have spanned 5 decades and beyond. While yes, the 70's was their drug-soaked heyday, and I loved them, I was happy they came back and enjoyed their new "sober" stuff. One thing that can't be denied....they ENTERTAIN people and the people love them so screw the others.
It's been really cool going back and watching reactors react to songs from this era because for me they were just sort of part of my mental landscape growing up, they were the music my mom played and they were just there since I was an embryo, but I didn't really think about them or analyze them or consider them as anything but something I just took for granted. Hearing people show their appreciation for these songs from the 70s and 60s really kind of makes me listen to them with new ears and realize that I shouldn't take them for granted because they're f****** amazing. Now especially that I understand more about music and song construction and all of that, it really lets me and be impressed with stuff that I just kind of accepted as part of my mental landscape my whole life. So thank you for that
Rocked out to Toys In the Attic nonstop!! Also Nazareth Hair of the Dog. ❤🔥👍🏽 Steven penned this when he was just 14y young!! 😯🔥 Longevity and its classic Aerosmith. Steven once said it was the one song he actually sang naturally, just came out of him. This little show is gonna be fun and I'm going with!! 👍🏽😎😁
Welcome to early Aerosmith! Last child; Back in the Saddle are a couple bangers to start with. Can hardly go wrong with any track from Toys in the Attic or Rocks. Enjoy the journey, you are in for one helluva ride. Will be excited go along for the ride.
I saw Aerosmith 3 times in concert first one Lenny Kravitz opened up with a broken leg ,second fine Motlety Crew opened up for them, third time Joan Jett opened up for them this was in Mid 200s . Anyway each concert was awesome The video Walk This Way With Run D C was amazing back in the day.
Saw them in outdoor concert next to the lake in Toronto. Walked along the shore when they started this song, amazing echoes on the water. Never forget it, although I don't remember the girl's name. Lot of smoke passing around that night.
This was the class song for my graduating class. When I was in the Army, we had a chopper pilot who would always blast "Back in the Saddle" over the intercom. "Dude Looks Like a Lady" is fun--but probably gets you canceled with extreme prejudice these days. "Love in an Elevator" is another fun one.
Best concert Ive ever been to was Aerosmith and I was sitting in the nose bleed seats section! Never seen a whole arena of 50,000+ people, out of their seats and jumping around having a good time on every song. Felt like I was in the first row. Btw, Dokken was the opener.
Great reaction great band these guys take me back to my sophomore year in high school 1975 they definitely kicked some butt, always fun to watch people listen to music that I grew up with may I suggest just get their album get your wings put your head phones on twist one up kick back and you'll get the real old school raw Aerosmith at their best have fun going down the hole alice, keep spreading the music around. Toys In The Attic, Kings And Queens, Draw The Line, Rats In The Cellar, Back In The Saddle, Train Kept A Rollin (Yardbirds cover), Lord Of The Thighs, One Way Street, Mama Kin, Same Old Song And Dance, Remember Walking In The Sand, Sweet Emotion, Come Together (Beatles cover), Chippin Away At The Stone
They made their comeback in late 80s early 90s..... after breaking up and getting themselves clean. So while they had lots of issues in early start up, do to extreme partying, the music was epic!!!
This song played the night i heard one of my classmates got killed in a car wreck. Every time i hear this it takes me back to my Senior year, March 2 1990. RIP Carla V.
This song was put out the year I graduated high school in 1973. I requested it on the radio in the 1980s and was told they couldn’t play it before 10 p.m. Steven Tyler is in my opinion one of the top three rock voices!
70s Aerosmith was the best Aerosmith. Thats when thier music rocked and they had swagger and even a funkyness about it. Classic Aerosmith. It doesnt get any better
Great reaction. This is just one of the best songs, and as an aside, REALLY hard to sing. You titled this "Starting My Journey..." and that made me think of the band Journey. I didn't see any reactions to them on your video list, so they would be a great mid 70s - 80s band to review (they're still around, but the Steve Perry years are their best IMO). So many great songs. You can't go wrong with Don't Stop Believin' (which you probably know even if you don't realize it) or Faithfully, or Separate Ways.
Nobody's Fault, Kings and Queens, No More No More, Sweet Emotion...... Basically anything from the 70s is fire. Aerosmith is in my top 5 American rock bands of all time.
Aerosmith has been together for almost 50 years. Lead singer Steven Tyler, lead guitarist Joe Perry, rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford, bassist Tom Hamilton and drummer Joey Kramer.
Great Song from their Debut Album in 1973 Check out some other Absolutely Amazing Songs 1-Back in the Saddle 2-Sweet Emotion 3-Mama Kin 4-Walk This Way without DMC All Absolutely Amazing
A band or artist doesn’t have a 40 year or so career and not be legit man! All their music is good BUT the early albums from the seventies are the absolute best. Loud and raw!!
Yes! I voted Aerosmith! My favorite band growing up in the 70's, so many great songs and albums. "Seasons of Wither" " Back in the Saddle" " Last Child" "Sweet Emotion" " You See Me Crying" "Pandora's Box" "Woman of the World" "Big 10 Inch Record" "SOS Too Bad" "...so many...my favorite more modern song of theirs is "Livin'' On the Edge"
Yes, Dream On is an everywhere song. Back in 2015 or 2016 Walmart ran an ad campaign regarding Walmart investing in American Manufacturing to Dream On in the background while showing American families & blue collar Americans working in factory & warehouses.
Steven's father was a concert pianist, and he said he spent a lot of time as a child playing under his dad's baby grand piano while practicing/rehearsing, so he has an almost natural understanding of music composition; what works and what doesn't. Joe Perry has said that early on, Deep Purple's "Machine Head" album was his 'morning cup of coffee', so he has that influence of both melodic sounds AND crunching guitar work. Their first 4 albums were a 'natural' progression of improvement before the drugs started influencing their sound, as per bassist Tom Hamilton. Their second beginning came with their "Permanent Vacation" album when Joe Perry and Brad Whitford rejoined the band around 1985, although Joe said that album was "a waste of plastic and vinyl". The rest is history.
He can sing that as good today as he did when he recorded it. There is a cool performance of him & Carrie Underwood singing it & one of her songs together at some awards show. Very fun. My fav is 'I don't wanna miss a thing'. The video is clips of him singing which is awesome, interspersed with clips from the movie Armageddon. He did the song for the movie. His daughter Liv Tyler starred with Bruce Willis & Ben Affleck. Great love song. Cool movie too.
My favorite band!! The entire 1976 album Aerosmith "Rocks" is one of the greatest albums ever conceived!! Some songs to check out would be "Last Child", "Nobody's fault", "Rat's in the cellar", "Back in the saddle", "Kings and Queens", "Toy's in the attic" "Hangman Jury", and about 40 more great tunes!!!
The very first Album I ever bought was with my babysitting money. It was Arrow Smiths Draw The Line album. I was 12 years old. Anything from that album is amazing!! I agree, their earlier tunes are badass! Great reaction! ✌🏼
Aerosmith top hits: Mama kin Sweet Emotion Back in the saddle again Same old song and Dance Etc..... If you haven't done "Eruption", by Eddie VanHalen, I highly suggest that.
Aerosmith's legendary, and this is one of rock's most iconic songs. Their influence on rock music cannot be overstated. This is a long rabbit hole to go down, and it's worth it. Em sampled this in "Sing For The Moment". I guess "sampled" isn't the right word seeing as how Joe Perry actually played on the song, but you get what I'm saying.
This is actually off their debut self-titled album from 1973. This song is considered one of the greatest rock singles ever. I fell in love with this band in 1975 when I was 13. Their music changed a lot in the 80's, it became more pop rock, or as we called it "popcorn rock."
IMO their third and fourth albums, Toys in the Attic, and Rocks, were the musical peak of their first run, before either breaking up and coming back together or taking an extended break sometime after those.
MANY bands that are believed to be 80's bands actually began in the 70's. Also, the Run DMC version of Walk This Way, was a novelty. If you haven't heard it yet, you must hear the ORIGINAL version of the song. 👍

Amazing
Sweet Emotion
Mama Kin off the same album as Dream On. …..like all the early Aerosmith.
Skip the 80's Aerosmith. Their early albums from the 70's are Epic.

70s Aerosmith is awesome!

love this song. welcome to the 70's. this was my song with Jon Laster when I was 15, and he was 17. first love.
My fav Aerosmith song. Brings me way back.
70s Aerosmith is the best!
Train Kept a Rollin’ is my favorite by them, followed by this song. This is Classic Rock at its finest. Now you know why we love it so much!
It's a great cover. I like it better than the original by the Yardbirds.
Aerosmith did do a great rendition of Train Kept a Rollin....
But it is originally a Yard Bird song... & Jimmy Page was in the Yard Birds then.....

More great 70's Aerosmith: Same Old Song And Dance, Sweet Emotion, & Back In the Saddle.

It's an anthem!

This is right up there with “Stairway to Heaven” for me. The album “Toys in the Attic” is fantastic as well, not a bad track.
