Karen Carpenter was one of the greatest female vocalist of all times, beautiful amazing voice no auto-tune no back woods tricks just straight up talent. Check out their hit song from 1970 that pretty much started it all for the Carpenters. Check out the song CLOSE TO YOU, find a video on UA-cam that lasts at least up to 3:41, ua-cam.com/video/oaOyoVS-IAI/v-deo.html
50 yrs.> Carpenters still touch Hearts & Souls = Anointed Gift from God. Karen's Solo Album was not released until 1996. Imagine IF she was Supported in her Solo Love Project of 1979/80 & released > while Richard took off all of 1979> No bad marriage = CARPENTERS Together Again = a 2nd METEORIC LAUNCH!
Richard Carpenter heard this song on TV. It was a commercial for Crocker Bank in Los Angeles. He called the Paul Williams, the composer, and asked if the song had a bridge and if he could record it. The song sold millions!
@@AmakaReact No, Thank you. You have a beautiful energy and my day was brighter after watching your video. Have an amazing day. peace and love to you xx
as children the brother (Richard) was not only a very talented musician but also had an amazing ear for music, his sister (Karen) ended up playing drums and because of her flawless timing and incredible coordination became quite good however Richard knew there was something super rare in her vocal tonality, he knew that once record executives heard it they'd probably think the same thing, sure enough famous musician/record producer Herb Alpert heard her on a demo and was blown away, he signed them immediately and later during the recording sessions asked the studio engineers how the progress was going (usually takes weeks to months just to get the basic recordings) however he was stunned when they told him "we're already done" , in Herb Alperts years of recording and production he knew no one was so good that they didn't spend considerable time trying to get the best takes possible however Karen was so incredible that she easily did it the first time -never a wrong note and as a drummer was incapable of going off time...all these years later it seems kind of clear that this music was a beautiful gift from God for the ages
Amaka....wait until you hear these "Karen's" songs: "Ordinary Fool", "A Song for You", "Someday", "Sometimes", "When I fall in Love", "California Dreamin", "Little Girl Blue", "Now". Please do reactions on these songs. Unbelievable. Karen was an one-off, a diamond in the rough. The greatest female voice and drummer! A prodigy. Genius. Perfectionist. Thanks!
So many good Carpenters tunes to choose from. Superstar and A Song For You are two of my favorites, but there's lots more. Karen also played drums, BTW.
To this day this song is The #1 wedding song of all time
