@Cynthia I have the same with the song Let's Spend The Night Together. There's something about the melody and Mick's intonation I can't explain, that I really like.

Their music of this period drifted far from their Chuck Berry/Chicago blues roots but this was a time of experimentation of music, culture and substances and both artist and audience were freaking out together as the 60's rolled on. It's from 1967 so it is definitely hippie-psychedelic, right from one of the biggest years of the hippie era. Early Pink Floyd from the same time actually sounded really similar to this. Try their "See Emily Play" to hear it. There was no official video to this song (songs didn't typically come out with videos until the eighties), so this was probably put together much later by some fan. The people in it don't look like they're really from 1967 or even the sixties but like people from a much later decade dressed up to look like they're from the sixties, at least for a lot of the images anyway.

They sure were the best at being a step behind the other bands of their time always copying the work of others. Their best musician was Brian jones who died in the 60’s. You could find a bunch of kids playing in their garage that sound better than them. They have been ripping people off for about 30 years.
@@MUE4731 and then there's the most blatant rip-off band, just a small quote for ya. Such a different song for the Stones. Instruments that were rarely used much by anyone, like the mellotron and the celesta. I Love "She's A Rainbow" it fills this old hippy's heart. A tune I love to hear often. It was played, very loudly at a friend's funeral, she was a lovely hippy lady, & nearly always wore rainbow clothing. "Their Satanic Majesties Request" was the Stones answer to "Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" & what a superb trippy albums it is..
I think the first time I heard this, that my brain was aware of it, was when it was sung to Kristin Wiig on her final SNL show, and also heard it in a commercial. Such a good song!
Def Beatles, always innovative and new. For me the Stones were harder, angrier, "nastier". I liked a bunch of their songs, but Beatles forever for sure.
You should definitely check out Ruby Tuesday, perhaps the greatest psychedelic era song by the Stones, featuring beautiful, fluttering recorder riffs by Brian Jones. Also, a band called The Left Banke did some wonderful, baroque pop during this era. Check out Pretty Ballerina and Walk Away, Renee.
Ruby Tuesday, Backstreet Girl, Lady Jane... So many good songs by the Stones. And the whole album that She's A Rainbow is from (Their Satanic Majesties Request) has a definite hippy vibe. I think it was the Stones' answer to The Beatles' Sgt Pepper. Very trippy...
Everybody has their favorite bands, but The Beatles are generally acknowledged as the greatest band of all time, and for good reason. Not only are they one of the most prolific bands, but their innovation, diversity and influence is unmatched by any other band. Facts!
LOL. Another insecure Beatles fan who feels the need to point out their band is "the best." You guys have to do that a lot when people are talking about the Stones being the greatest band ever!
@@scottythetrex5197 Lol, did you not see near the beginning of the video? I didn't comment what I said out of the blue. They literally asked who we thought were the best band ever. I love the Stones too, but your comment is what reeks of insecurity my friend.
Yes. The Beatles are considered the greatest rock band of all time. Everything they did was great. The revolutionized how music was recorded and how to use the studio to create. But, the Stones are right up there. The fact that there is a Beatles vs Stones debate is proof the Stones were geniuses too.
On the day my youngest daughter was born I looked out the window at the hospital and there was a rainbow fastfoward 25 years later she gives birth to my grandson and you gussed it there was a rainbow, she has always brought me such joy and laughter I always think of this song on her birthday
I’ve once managed to get to a Stones concert, when they visited my (then) home town. I even got to briefly meet Mick Jagger (lead singer), their energies were impressive. Great fun.
My sister had this album, and my 8th grade English teacher (in 1969) used contemporary rock lyrics (including this song) in the poetry unit. Best band ever, though, is the MOODY BLUES! Running a close second, THE ZOMBIES!
The Rolling Stones definitely get the award for longevity. One of the earliest modern rock bands, they were big in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. As for who is the best, it would have to be between the Beatles and Led Zeppelin, with a Hall of Fame full of honorable mentions. Virtually every band cites the Beatles and Led Zeppelin as influences, and a high percentage of the songs on their albums are hits.
Of course, for me, Led Zeppelin will always be my favorite group of all time, but the Stones are my next choice ! If you thought this song was up and happy you must listen to a very solemn and sad song, my favorite, Angie. This is a different side of the Stones and makes me cry every time I hear it !
A brilliant, beautiful piece..... one song among hundreds of originals that made the Stones a heavy weight band of geniuses. Not to mention they had the power and fury to keep going on and on.
The Rolling Stones are awesome and have so many great songs! ✌🎶🔥😎 Here's some more essential tracks you need to check out: "Beast of Burden", "Angie", "It's Only Rock 'N' Roll (But I Like It)", "Fool to Cry", "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", "Miss You", "Sympathy for the Devil", "Under My Thumb", "Gimme Shelter", "Waiting On A Friend", "Get Off of My Cloud", "Monkey Man", "Wild Horses", "Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)", "Shattered", and "Paint It Black". I've seen them live a few times and they always put on a great show! RIP Charlie Watts!
I remember being a kid and asking the guy at the record store for the Rolling Stones record... and him pointing to a bin with 30 albums in it. They're all different. Don't know this one so I'm reacting with you!
Members of The Beatles and The Stones were good friends, and John and Paul visited them during The Stones' first recording session. Mick was complaining that they didn't have a hit yet, so John and Paul said to give them a few minutes. 30 minutes later, the two Beatles returned with the lyrics, and general tune, to The Stones' first hit song. Mick and the boys were so stunned by what happened, it inspired them to start writing their own songs. And the rest is history! I love The Stones, but when comes to being influential in music and by sales alone, no musical artists beat The Beatles. They have sold over 1.5 billion records and hundreds of millions of albums. More than anyone, ever. Love them or hate them, The Beatles rule over all of music. The music industry doesn't even include them in album charts anymore, because they usually outsell everyone, every year, even these days. Heck, their greatest hits CD, 1, sold over 30 million copies, more than most artists sell their entire career.
@@willdwyer6782 okay I'm very well aware of that. I was just pointing out who he is and what band he was from in case they are not familiar with the name.
"Jumpin Jack Flash" "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" are some others to check out. Yes, Jordan it sounded like an ice cream truck to me as well in a circus way. To some, it sounds like a music box. Luckily, I finished ice cream tonight haha. Btw, Jumpin Jack Flash is a movie with Whoopi Goldberg.
The Beatles were/ are the greatest group of all time, and there was not really much debate at the time. In the original worldwide video performance of "All You Need Is Love" by the Beatles in June 1967, The Rolling Stones, Mick and Keith, were sitting at their feet in the teevee studio like pilgrims at the feet of their almighty gods.
Saying the Stones were pilgrims at the feet of the Beatles gods is a bit like saying Messi had posters of Ronaldo on his wall and learned to play from him. Which band is best depends on your taste. Lots of arguments available to call Beatles the best band of all times. As it also is with Stones. And Zeppelin. And Queen. And Pink Floyd. And Metallica. The Stones copied the Beatles a bit sometimes. Sometimes not as good as Beatles themselves, sometimes better. But both bands def had their style and creative brilliance. Lots of great songs. Best band? The band that you/I/he/she finds the best. Beatles are insanely good at their best, not that good in every song. Same as Stones. None of them are "Definitely the best band ever" by any definition other than taste.
Love this song, been trying to get Andy & Alex to do it for 2 years! Next Stones song you should do is "Bitch" has some great horns in it, Amber. Not my favorite band but in my top 5 behind The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and RUSH. Thanks guys!
This song is from 1967, peak psychedelia. Next for the stones, try Miss You from 1978 (their disco period). These guys are master musicians but also chameleons, reflecting the tastes of the time.
I highly recommend you react to the Stones performing "Can't Always Get What You Want" live at the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Mick Jagger is just a bad-ass in that amazing performance!
Good thought but I could say the same of the Who. All time greatest band that changed everything.........hands down the Beatles all due respect to Zep, Floyd, Stones et al.
Well it seems to me that you can trace back almost every semblance of music styles to the band that started this snowball rolling wildly and unending on a journey lasting a lifetime! That of course would be undeniably " The Beatles" !
Under my thumb and Ruby Tuesday are two of my favorite Rolling Stones songs but there are so many of them my favorite era of The Rolling Stones was the Brian Jones era 1963 until 1969 !
The Beatles were the best band ever. They influenced a generation and all the musicians of that time, even the Rolling Stones. The Beatles wrote almost 200 songs and released over 60 albums. They were only a band for about 10 years and did this all as a group in their twenties. No one else comes close to what they did.
The Beatles did not release six albums a year for ten years! (James Brown released five albums in a year once and Sinatra released six in about fifty-four weeks) They have fifty-four compilations. But 188 original songs on 12 albums in seven years is impressive. Having the top five singles at the same time is monumental!
ive not heard this song in 9 years, and i love it so much still, honestly it gives Beatles vibes all the way, thank yall for all these awsome reaction video.
The truth is -- despite people's passionate opinions -- there simply is NO "best band in the world." From the Rolling Stones and the Beatles to AC/DC, Def Leppard, Fleetwood Mac and anybody else you can name, they all bring something unique and wonderful to the world. That's what makes listening to all this music so fun! Appreciate what you guys do! Please keep doing it!!
The Beatles are, without a doubt, the best band ever. They may not be your favorite, but there is no denying their contribution to music. Not just the hits and sales, but the way music was produced, experimentation with new sounds, and changing the industry by giving artists more control of their music. This question was a no-brainer... Thanks for reaction. I like the Stones a lot, but I can't get into this one. Paint It Black Mother's Little Helper Shattered Jumping Jack Flash Satisfaction Angie Start Me Up Nineteenth Nervous Breakdown Their catalog is quite extensive so no where to go from here but up.
The Beatles wrote the first Rolling Stones Hit and the last part of the song that style was borrowed from The Beatles . They were great friends.. This is a great song thank you!
You should react to a few songs from their masterpiece album, "Exile On Main St."! Songs like 'Rocks Off', 'All Down the Line', and 'Stop Breaking Down' are perfect songs to listen too. Fun fact: In 1972, the Stones were literally exiled from the UK for "tax exile" and got screwed over by record label ABKCO, thus fleeing to the country of France where they recorded half of the albums music in the city of Nellcôte, France. The album is very diverse in many genres of music from Rock, Blues, Country, Jazz, some Psychedelia music and Gospel. Although it received mixed reviews at it's time, "Exile..." would be voted at 14th of the 500 Greatest Albums by Rolling Stone magazine! It's also my favorite album of theirs so I hope you check it out!
Angie is my favorite Rolling Stones song, but they have so many great songs, from generation to generation. Under my Thumb is another favorite. Missing You, Sympathy For They Devil. Satisfaction. A long list of Rolling Stones songs to pick from.
The reality is that the Beatles were SO FAR apart from other bands that it’s unfair for other bands of the time to be compared to them. Additionally, the REALITY is that ALL bands then n after them to even today have benefitted from their craft (which includes the technology that had to be created n the recording methods that had to evolve to catch their sounds!) Unfortunately today most people now who record their “songs” are like snotty kindergartners who have stumbled into a high tech Eden in terms of recording technology n think they have created masterpieces simply by pushing Button A. They are standing on the shoulders of giants
So far apart under The Stones . Beatles music was very childlike and innocent in the early years. The Stones came in Strong and edgy. Plus they're still together. And thankfully never had a Yoko Ono . LOL
I've loved The Beatles since seeing them on Ed Sullivan, I was 6. I fell in love with John. Not only talented together but each had massive solo careers. Even Ringo had a few hits on his own. Photograph is a really good song. But John's Double Fantasy in my opinion is his masterpiece. So sad he was murdered right as it was being released. RIP JOHN ✌🌻🌻🙏
@@krissyfry3333 Well I’m also a HUGE Stones fan! The Stones strength was when they finally stopped aping older blues men or the Beatles n found their own voice n realized they were a live band (which the Lads stopped in 1966) From 68-74 is their peak years of artistic n real rock n roll relevance (before Mick Taylor left n the self-parody began the family oriented programming) They were indeed fierce!!! ❤️🥁
My third favorite Stones song. They don't take themselves too seriously. The best band ever is, of course, the Beatles, but the Rolling Stones are arguably the best rock-and-roll band (the Beatles were much more diverse than just rock and roll) and the second best blues-rock band, after Led Zep.

Check out Chris Farlowe's "Handbags and Gladrags," or the cover of it, by The Faces with Rod Stewart .
I think the first time I heard this, that my brain was aware of it, was when it was sung to Kristin Wiig on her final SNL show, and also heard it in a commercial. Such a good song!
A really hard and almost impossible task with such an awesome variety of super talented bands. I can’t pick just one, no way.
This is definitely one of the songs that put the Rolling Stones on the map!!! Great reaction GUYS!!!
You must check out there song Far Away Eyes. So different for The Rolling Stones but a great song.
Thank you for that one! Loved it.
Def Beatles, always innovative and new. For me the Stones were harder, angrier, "nastier". I liked a bunch of their songs, but Beatles forever for sure.
@Wilt Chamberlain is the GOAT Well stated, and I concur sir!
Stones! You can’t groove to the Beatles, their sound feels dated like a 1950’s band
This song sounds like a parody of the Beatles.
I love you both so much!! Truly beautiful souls and spirits!!
Peace ☮️ ✌️ Love ❤️ and Happiness 😁
You should definitely check out Ruby Tuesday, perhaps the greatest psychedelic era song by the Stones, featuring beautiful, fluttering recorder riffs by Brian Jones.
Also, a band called The Left Banke did some wonderful, baroque pop during this era. Check out Pretty Ballerina and Walk Away, Renee.
Ruby Tuesday is my favorite too...for obvious reasons .😁
I love the Left Banke! Both those songs are the best. I was 16 when those songs were popular. What times they were.
I love Melanie's cover of Ruby Tuesday
Love Ruby Tuesday!
This song was featured in the second season of Ted Lasso on AppleTV+ I had never heard it before but it is such a cool, happy and upbeat song.
I love it in Ted Lasso. Rainbow is one of my favourite episodes. First time I’d heard.
Please react to "Silent Lucidity" from Queensryche.
One of the best ballads ever made!
One of my all-time favorite songs ❤️
Everybody has their favorite bands, but The Beatles are generally acknowledged as the greatest band of all time, and for good reason. Not only are they one of the most prolific bands, but their innovation, diversity and influence is unmatched by any other band. Facts!
two different kinds of bands, get a clue.
@@alrivers2297 get lost BEATLE BOY
Yes. The Beatles are considered the greatest rock band of all time. Everything they did was great. The revolutionized how music was recorded and how to use the studio to create. But, the Stones are right up there. The fact that there is a Beatles vs Stones debate is proof the Stones were geniuses too.
Awesome song!!!!!!! best band ever,,,,BEATLES
Beatle songs are sometimes too cute. Stones are pure rock
You can’t groove
100% Beatles… 8 years compared to 50 plus. No contest
Great fun.
One of my top 3 Stones songs, finally! Thank you!
My sister had this album, and my 8th grade English teacher (in 1969) used contemporary rock lyrics (including this song) in the poetry unit.
Best band ever, though, is the MOODY BLUES! Running a close second, THE ZOMBIES!
Fantastic track and in my opinion the Rolling Stones are the greatest band of all time
The Rolling Stones definitely get the award for longevity.
When George Harrison met Led Zeppelin, he challenged them to do a ballad. The Rain Song was the end result of that encounter.
@@willdwyer6782 Possibly a nod to the great Beatles song, "Rain."
One of my favorite Stones songs,Classic Stones,Released the year I was born, The summer of love, psychedelic 60s
Of course, for me, Led Zeppelin will always be my favorite group of all time, but the Stones are my next choice !
If you thought this song was up and happy you must listen to a very solemn and sad song, my favorite, Angie. This is a different side of the Stones and makes me cry every time I hear it !
"Fool to Cry" is another sad song of theirs.
John Paul Jones arranged the strings for this….
My fave Stones tunes, too. Great choices.
Rolling Stones 'Playing With Fire' is incredible!!!
I remember being a kid and asking the guy at the record store for the Rolling Stones record... and him pointing to a bin with 30 albums in it. They're all different. Don't know this one so I'm reacting with you!
One of my all-time favorite Stones tunes ... like going back to the late 60s in your ear.
Awesome band!! Try “Amie” by Pure Prairie League!🤘🔥
If they react to it they need to pair it with “Fallin’ In & Out of Love With You”.
Amber would love it, as I suspect she has some country music roots.
All just I want to say is God bless you!! I literally cried of how much fun you've gotten!
Led Zeppelin is in my opinion, the greatest band of all time. No disrespect to the others. I love them as well
Correct answer!
From the peak period of their career, they could do no wrong from about 1967-1973.
You've got to throw Some Girls in there too from 1978. Probably their second or third best album.
Aftermath came out in 1966, and that's a 5 star album in my books
Tattoo You in 81 as well
I like to think of each person as a rainbow. Some people are bright and vibrant while some may be more muted but all are beautiful.
The strings on this song were arranged by John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. This was the Stones at their Sgt. Pepper best.
Led Zeppelin didn't exist at the time. They formed less than a year after this song was recorded.
@@willdwyer6782 okay I'm very well aware of that. I was just pointing out who he is and what band he was from in case they are not familiar with the name.
Mothers little helper my favorite Rolling Stones song from the same time period.
The Rolling Stones "Get Off My Cloud",, "Fool To Cry" & "Ruby Tuesday"
My Top Best Bands Ever - Led Zeppelin - Bee Gee's - Beatles - Rolling Stones - Aerosmith - ABBA
#1 Beatles....Stones, Eagles, Elvis (Presley and Costello), Steely Dan etc all FanTAStic!
Yes, and there's really not any serious debate now, either.
None of them are "Definitely the best band ever" by any definition other than taste.
plenty of debate, stones have waaay more great songs@@tombeyerlein3813
Thank you for sharing your insight and enjoyment of the music you review. Jay and Amber you always put a smile on my face. 😊
Oh please the stones smokes every fuckin band they are the true definition of rock roll .nobody beats the stones and I've seen over 200 bands.
@@josehborba3004 The Who can compare on occasion, and the Beatles are the Beatles, but yeah, the Stones are sitting on top of the mountain.
One of my favorite Stones' song.
When Amber loves a song (like in this video) it just puts a huge smile on my face. Thanks Jay and Amber for all the great reactions.
Rolling Stones best band ever!! 60 years and still rockin!!
This song is from 1967, peak psychedelia. Next for the stones, try Miss You from 1978 (their disco period). These guys are master musicians but also chameleons, reflecting the tastes of the time.
That's flower children ✌️☮️🌻
I highly recommend you react to the Stones performing "Can't Always Get What You Want" live at the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Mick Jagger is just a bad-ass in that amazing performance!
Brings me back to my shildhood, I was 11 years old then. Happy memories. 💐🌸💮🏵️🌺🌻💕💕
Led Zeppelin hands down best.
Best vocalist best Drummer best guitarist JPJ great on several instruments.
JPJ was the strings arranger on this particular song.
Led Zeppelin #1 for me!
1) Zeppelin
2) The Stones
3) The Beatles
Thats right👍
Good thought but I could say the same of the Who. All time greatest band that changed everything.........hands down the Beatles all due respect to Zep, Floyd, Stones et al.
This song is the basis of a whole Ted Lasso episode called ‘Rainbow’ first time I’d heard it. It’s gorgeous 😊
Higgins is such an underrated character!
Many of us are bit older ...
The best rock n roll band of all time is arguably the The Rolling Stones!
Whoever moves you at any given time is the greatest! Love your channel!
Well it seems to me that you can trace back almost every semblance of music styles to the band that started this snowball rolling wildly and unending on a journey lasting a lifetime! That of course would be undeniably " The Beatles" !
not really
Under my thumb and Ruby Tuesday are two of my favorite Rolling Stones songs but there are so many of them my favorite era of The Rolling Stones was the Brian Jones era 1963 until 1969 !
great reaction. you guys are a clean slate for alotta these songs which not only makes it fun and fresh but reminds of the first time I heard it.
60 Albums? Not quite.
@@donferoce5652 plus hits they wrote for others like Cilla Black and Peter & Gordon
at the same time the stones made much better music
ive not heard this song in 9 years, and i love it so much still, honestly it gives Beatles vibes all the way, thank yall for all these awsome reaction video.
Best band ever Pink Floyd hands down
Such a beautiful 60s song.
Music is subjective, it's not worth getting into that whole who is best discussion ( Some ppl think the Who is the best. lol )
Nope
Greatest Rock n Roll band
&
Then there’s
AC/DC
So Beautiful
It sounds like one of them wind up music boxes, the piano. Its beautiful
To me the Beatles are #1 then the rolling stones!! The stones have a lot great songs!! ✌
So many Rollings Stones songs so little time! “I Can’t get no Satisfaction” “Brown Sugar” “Tumblin Dice” “Ruby Tuesday” “Under My Thumb” etc….
Paint It Black
Mother's Little Helper
Shattered
Jumping Jack Flash
Satisfaction
Angie
Start Me Up
Nineteenth Nervous Breakdown
Their catalog is quite extensive so no where to go from here but up.
stones got a much deeper cataloug than chimpy beatles
@@cameronpickard7456 The Beatles were around for 8 years... The Stones for 62....
Besides, it's about quality and not quantity.
one of those songs to play when you are feeling down
The Beatles wrote the first Rolling Stones Hit and the last part of the song that style was borrowed from The Beatles . They were great friends.. This is a great song thank you!
I've been following the Rolling Stones since 1963, greatest band and still rolling on.
Additionally, the REALITY is that ALL bands then n after them to even today have benefitted from their craft (which includes the technology that had to be created n the recording methods that had to evolve to catch their sounds!)
Unfortunately today most people now who record their “songs” are like snotty kindergartners who have stumbled into a high tech Eden in terms of recording technology n think they have created masterpieces simply by pushing Button A.
The Stones strength was when they finally stopped aping older blues men or the Beatles n found their own voice n realized they were a live band (which the Lads stopped in 1966)
From 68-74 is their peak years of artistic n real rock n roll relevance (before Mick Taylor left n the self-parody began the family oriented programming)
They were indeed fierce!!! ❤️🥁
The Beatles were pop.. The Rolling Stones were down and dirty!
The early Beatles were pop. Their later stuff is not. The White Album is definitely not pop.✌🌻🌻
R.i.p. queen Elizabeth, love to see this song put with her, as she dressed colorful, and British, like the stones, miss the queen
My third favorite Stones song. They don't take themselves too seriously. The best band ever is, of course, the Beatles, but the Rolling Stones are arguably the best rock-and-roll band (the Beatles were much more diverse than just rock and roll) and the second best blues-rock band, after Led Zep.
Ditto on top 3.
