It's from 1967 so it is definitely hippie-psychedelic, right from one of the biggest years of the hippie era. Early Pink Floyd from the same time actually sounded really similar to this. Try their "See Emily Play" to hear it. There was no official video to this song (songs didn't typically come out with videos until the eighties), so this was probably put together much later by some fan. The people in it don't look like they're really from 1967 or even the sixties but like people from a much later decade dressed up to look like they're from the sixties, at least for a lot of the images anyway.
Yes See Emily Play by Early Pink Floyd with original singer Syd Barrett, also check out Norman Greenbaum's Spirit In the Sky a classic one hit wonder. Have you listened to The Who? or The Yardbirds? Shape of Things with amazing guitarist Jeff Back and Jimmy Paige played guitar. Also Manfred Mann
Another good one, thanks. I can only imagine how much work it takes to do so many videos, with such excellent, consistent quality. If you guys like the Stones, may I suggest "Sympathy for the Devil'. A favorite for all us Catholics. Thanks! PS. Please don't forget Sing Sing Sing. Laugh all you want, this ROCKED 1938.
Thank you for this good example of one of the many facets of Rock and Roll. This sound was prevalent in the mid to late 1960s. A great example of the Stones ability to be "current". Thank you Mark Bois for suggesting "Sing, Sing, SIng! A forerunner of R&R. Amazing drums and horns. And that clarinet! Please, please, please try that song!
Def Beatles, always innovative and new. For me the Stones were harder, angrier, "nastier". I liked a bunch of their songs, but Beatles forever for sure.
Amber, your reaction when the music stops and the piano starts up slow....Priceless. This is My favorite Rolling Stones song I enjoy seeing you enjoying it so much
I’ve once managed to get to a Stones concert, when they visited my (then) home town. I even got to briefly meet Mick Jagger (lead singer), their energies were impressive. Great fun.
I Love "She's A Rainbow" it fills this old hippy's heart. A tune I love to hear often. It was played, very loudly at a friend's funeral, she was a lovely hippy lady, & nearly always wore rainbow clothing. "Their Satanic Majesties Request" was the Stones answer to "Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" & what a superb trippy albums it is..
A brilliant, beautiful piece..... one song among hundreds of originals that made the Stones a heavy weight band of geniuses. Not to mention they had the power and fury to keep going on and on.
At 1:32... that's John and Paul in the background. "Ooo-la-la-oo-la-la-la-la". And they sing more. ;-) Especially at 6:28 ! Lennon and McCartney singin' !
My sister had this album, and my 8th grade English teacher (in 1969) used contemporary rock lyrics (including this song) in the poetry unit. Best band ever, though, is the MOODY BLUES! Running a close second, THE ZOMBIES!
The Rolling Stones definitely get the award for longevity. One of the earliest modern rock bands, they were big in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. As for who is the best, it would have to be between the Beatles and Led Zeppelin, with a Hall of Fame full of honorable mentions. Virtually every band cites the Beatles and Led Zeppelin as influences, and a high percentage of the songs on their albums are hits.
Of course, for me, Led Zeppelin will always be my favorite group of all time, but the Stones are my next choice ! If you thought this song was up and happy you must listen to a very solemn and sad song, my favorite, Angie. This is a different side of the Stones and makes me cry every time I hear it !
10 years ago I was at a Rainbow gathering , next morning I seen her for the first time as she climbed out of her car after sleeping in the car and she began to comb her hair. ( that is my first memory as she caught my eye)I would discover soon she was an artist and so was I . It's now been years ago and tonight we see each other for the first time again. Pinch me , am I dreaming. She was like a rainbow then and when we meet tonight she will still be like a rainbow. Thank you Spirit.
Everybody has their favorite bands, but The Beatles are generally acknowledged as the greatest band of all time, and for good reason. Not only are they one of the most prolific bands, but their innovation, diversity and influence is unmatched by any other band. Facts!
LOL. Another insecure Beatles fan who feels the need to point out their band is "the best." You guys have to do that a lot when people are talking about the Stones being the greatest band ever!
@@scottythetrex5197 Lol, did you not see near the beginning of the video? I didn't comment what I said out of the blue. They literally asked who we thought were the best band ever. I love the Stones too, but your comment is what reeks of insecurity my friend.
Yes. The Beatles are considered the greatest rock band of all time. Everything they did was great. The revolutionized how music was recorded and how to use the studio to create. But, the Stones are right up there. The fact that there is a Beatles vs Stones debate is proof the Stones were geniuses too.
Members of The Beatles and The Stones were good friends, and John and Paul visited them during The Stones' first recording session. Mick was complaining that they didn't have a hit yet, so John and Paul said to give them a few minutes. 30 minutes later, the two Beatles returned with the lyrics, and general tune, to The Stones' first hit song. Mick and the boys were so stunned by what happened, it inspired them to start writing their own songs. And the rest is history! I love The Stones, but when comes to being influential in music and by sales alone, no musical artists beat The Beatles. They have sold over 1.5 billion records and hundreds of millions of albums. More than anyone, ever. Love them or hate them, The Beatles rule over all of music. The music industry doesn't even include them in album charts anymore, because they usually outsell everyone, every year, even these days. Heck, their greatest hits CD, 1, sold over 30 million copies, more than most artists sell their entire career.
I think the first time I heard this, that my brain was aware of it, was when it was sung to Kristin Wiig on her final SNL show, and also heard it in a commercial. Such a good song!

I've seen them live a few times and they always put on a great show! RIP Charlie Watts!
I remember being a kid and asking the guy at the record store for the Rolling Stones record... and him pointing to a bin with 30 albums in it. They're all different. Don't know this one so I'm reacting with you!
Amber you are a flower/hippie child!! I haven't heard this song in a long time. The Rolling Stones could sing anything, from slower love songs to rock n roll. Thanks for posting this.!!

Love this song, and if you're looking for great Rolling Stone ballads, check out "Ruby Tuesday" and "As Tears Go By". Others have suggested Left Banke's "Walk Away, Renee" (so great) and "Pretty Ballerina" (must hear, and definitely check out Alice Cooper's version of "Pretty Ballerina" as well.) If you're looking for something a little more from the Rolling Stones, maybe take a listen to "19th Nervous Breakdown" and "Mother's Little Helper". Might not be their best or most well known songs, but still pretty good
"Jumpin Jack Flash" "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" are some others to check out. Yes, Jordan it sounded like an ice cream truck to me as well in a circus way. To some, it sounds like a music box. Luckily, I finished ice cream tonight haha. Btw, Jumpin Jack Flash is a movie with Whoopi Goldberg.
The Beatles were the best band ever. They influenced a generation and all the musicians of that time, even the Rolling Stones. The Beatles wrote almost 200 songs and released over 60 albums. They were only a band for about 10 years and did this all as a group in their twenties. No one else comes close to what they did.
The Beatles did not release six albums a year for ten years! (James Brown released five albums in a year once and Sinatra released six in about fifty-four weeks) They have fifty-four compilations. But 188 original songs on 12 albums in seven years is impressive. Having the top five singles at the same time is monumental!
This video reaction has made me fall completely in love with this Rob Squad girl, what a knock out!! Girl, your reaction of getting into the music and really digging it, with a huge smile on face and a bit of laughter, you were absolutely beautiful! Jagger is singing to you girl!! Rob, how did you bag such a beautiful lady like this? Please, we'd all like to know. Rob was having just as much fun and digging it too. Together they made one of the best reaction videos I've ever seen on YT.
This song is from 1967, peak psychedelia. Next for the stones, try Miss You from 1978 (their disco period). These guys are master musicians but also chameleons, reflecting the tastes of the time.
I love this. To see young people hearing (and loving) a beautiful song that first came out, at the height of the psychedelic era. I was 18, just out of high school, and in full hippie mode. This song (and album) was released at the time of The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album. I got to enjoy this all over again by watching your reactions.
My third favorite Stones song. They don't take themselves too seriously. The best band ever is, of course, the Beatles, but the Rolling Stones are arguably the best rock-and-roll band (the Beatles were much more diverse than just rock and roll) and the second best blues-rock band, after Led Zep.
College student born in 2003 here. I didn’t really have much respect for the music of old until I started listening to my dad jam out in the garage here. The Rolling Stones are now one of my favorite bands. This type of music is generational, something that feels new to anyone discovering it. I wish we could see more bands like this today.
The Beatles were/ are the greatest group of all time, and there was not really much debate at the time. In the original worldwide video performance of "All You Need Is Love" by the Beatles in June 1967, The Rolling Stones, Mick and Keith, were sitting at their feet in the teevee studio like pilgrims at the feet of their almighty gods.
Saying the Stones were pilgrims at the feet of the Beatles gods is a bit like saying Messi had posters of Ronaldo on his wall and learned to play from him. Which band is best depends on your taste. Lots of arguments available to call Beatles the best band of all times. As it also is with Stones. And Zeppelin. And Queen. And Pink Floyd. And Metallica. The Stones copied the Beatles a bit sometimes. Sometimes not as good as Beatles themselves, sometimes better. But both bands def had their style and creative brilliance. Lots of great songs. Best band? The band that you/I/he/she finds the best. Beatles are insanely good at their best, not that good in every song. Same as Stones. None of them are "Definitely the best band ever" by any definition other than taste.
I highly recommend you react to the Stones performing "Can't Always Get What You Want" live at the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Mick Jagger is just a bad-ass in that amazing performance!
Love this song, been trying to get Andy & Alex to do it for 2 years! Next Stones song you should do is "Bitch" has some great horns in it, Amber. Not my favorite band but in my top 5 behind The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and RUSH. Thanks guys!
Well it seems to me that you can trace back almost every semblance of music styles to the band that started this snowball rolling wildly and unending on a journey lasting a lifetime! That of course would be undeniably " The Beatles" !

I just love Amber's hippie vibe. I love this Stones' song--used to be on my "trippy" list back in the day.
From anyone who grew up in the 60's, the Beatles were always the original number one band and the Stones were a close 2nd. I've always loved both.
Love those earlier Floyd Albums, my fav is Saucerful Of Secrets....😎🙏❤🇨🇦👍
Yes See Emily Play by Early Pink Floyd with original singer Syd Barrett, also check out Norman Greenbaum's Spirit In the Sky a classic one hit wonder. Have you listened to The Who? or The Yardbirds? Shape of Things with amazing guitarist Jeff Back and Jimmy Paige played guitar. Also Manfred Mann
Yes, they are the Masters of Rock n Roll.
😂🤣😂🤣😂
One of my very favourites R.S. songs! I was able to see them in Detroit in 1980,! This is the only song that sounded any good!
Good one. Yall should review Dr. Buzzards The Savanah Band. Chereze Le Femme.. Yall would like that one!
I am such a rock n' roll fan but, I agree Sing Sing Sing is great! Thanks to my Mom and Dad for introducing me to this
Thank you for this good example of one of the many facets of Rock and Roll.
Rolling Stones 'Playing With Fire' is incredible!!!
Def Beatles, always innovative and new. For me the Stones were harder, angrier, "nastier". I liked a bunch of their songs, but Beatles forever for sure.
@Wilt Chamberlain is the GOAT Well stated, and I concur sir!
Stones! You can’t groove to the Beatles, their sound feels dated like a 1950’s band
This song sounds like a parody of the Beatles.
Amber, your reaction when the music stops and the piano starts up slow....Priceless. This is My favorite Rolling Stones song I enjoy seeing you enjoying it so much
Led Zeppelin is in my opinion, the greatest band of all time. No disrespect to the others. I love them as well
Correct answer!
No other Band can pull off the wide breadth of music the Stones can! No1 without a doubt!
The Beatles did.
A really hard and almost impossible task with such an awesome variety of super talented bands. I can’t pick just one, no way.
A brilliant, beautiful piece..... one song among hundreds of originals that made the Stones a heavy weight band of geniuses. Not to mention they had the power and fury to keep going on and on.
My Top Best Bands Ever - Led Zeppelin - Bee Gee's - Beatles - Rolling Stones - Aerosmith - ABBA
Rolling Stones best band ever!! 60 years and still rockin!!
"Out of time" is another Stones song you guys should check out, their version, then Chris Farlowe's version. Ramones covered it too.
Yes! Great song!
Check out Chris Farlowe's "Handbags and Gladrags," or the cover of it, by The Faces with Rod Stewart .
The Kinks, to me, are way underappreciated.
You must check out there song Far Away Eyes. So different for The Rolling Stones but a great song.
The Stones rule!
Love all y’all’s reactions
Headphones in and ready!
Awesome song!!!!!!! best band ever,,,,BEATLES
Beatle songs are sometimes too cute. Stones are pure rock
You can’t groove
100% Beatles… 8 years compared to 50 plus. No contest
@@SuperWhofan1Oh Gawd
At 1:32... that's John and Paul in the background.
"Ooo-la-la-oo-la-la-la-la". And they sing more. ;-)
Especially at 6:28 ! Lennon and McCartney singin' !
My sister had this album, and my 8th grade English teacher (in 1969) used contemporary rock lyrics (including this song) in the poetry unit.
Best band ever, though, is the MOODY BLUES! Running a close second, THE ZOMBIES!
This is definitely one of the songs that put the Rolling Stones on the map!!! Great reaction GUYS!!!
When George Harrison met Led Zeppelin, he challenged them to do a ballad. The Rain Song was the end result of that encounter.
@@willdwyer6782 Possibly a nod to the great Beatles song, "Rain."
Always loved the composition of this song the stones are such pros
Of course, for me, Led Zeppelin will always be my favorite group of all time, but the Stones are my next choice !
If you thought this song was up and happy you must listen to a very solemn and sad song, my favorite, Angie. This is a different side of the Stones and makes me cry every time I hear it !
"Fool to Cry" is another sad song of theirs.
John Paul Jones arranged the strings for this….
Facts!
two different kinds of bands, get a clue.
@@alrivers2297 get lost BEATLE BOY
Yes. The Beatles are considered the greatest rock band of all time. Everything they did was great. The revolutionized how music was recorded and how to use the studio to create. But, the Stones are right up there. The fact that there is a Beatles vs Stones debate is proof the Stones were geniuses too.
the strings add sooo much to this great song. one of my favorites, glad amber was able to enjoy it
Please react to "Silent Lucidity" from Queensryche.
One of the best ballads ever made!
One of my all-time favorite songs ❤️
Fantastic track and in my opinion the Rolling Stones are the greatest band of all time
Thank you for that one! Loved it.
This song was featured in the second season of Ted Lasso on AppleTV+ I had never heard it before but it is such a cool, happy and upbeat song.
I love it in Ted Lasso. Rainbow is one of my favourite episodes. First time I’d heard.
I think the first time I heard this, that my brain was aware of it, was when it was sung to Kristin Wiig on her final SNL show, and also heard it in a commercial. Such a good song!
The strings on this song were arranged by John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. This was the Stones at their Sgt. Pepper best.
Led Zeppelin didn't exist at the time. They formed less than a year after this song was recorded.
@@willdwyer6782 okay I'm very well aware of that. I was just pointing out who he is and what band he was from in case they are not familiar with the name.
Nailed it this was the Flower Power period for the Stones. Great to see you smiling so much shows this music is timeless.
The Rolling Stones are awesome and have so many great songs! ✌🎶🔥😎 Here's some more essential tracks you need to check out: "Beast of Burden", "Angie", "It's Only Rock 'N' Roll (But I Like It)", "Fool to Cry", "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", "Miss You", "Sympathy for the Devil", "Under My Thumb", "Gimme Shelter", "Waiting On A Friend", "Get Off of My Cloud", "Monkey Man", "Wild Horses", "Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)", "Shattered", and "Paint It Black". I've seen them live a few times and they always put on a great show! RIP Charlie Watts!
My fave Stones tunes, too. Great choices.
2:20 "flower children" That's the term I remember for 1960s hippies.
5/2/22, 11:43 p.m.
From the peak period of their career, they could do no wrong from about 1967-1973.
You've got to throw Some Girls in there too from 1978. Probably their second or third best album.
Aftermath came out in 1966, and that's a 5 star album in my books
Tattoo You in 81 as well
Oh Amber, your countenance reflects pure joy! Don’t ever lose that part of your spirit. ❤️🙏🏽☮️
Led Zeppelin hands down best.
Best vocalist best Drummer best guitarist JPJ great on several instruments.
JPJ was the strings arranger on this particular song.
Led Zeppelin #1 for me!
1) Zeppelin
2) The Stones
3) The Beatles
Thats right👍
Good thought but I could say the same of the Who. All time greatest band that changed everything.........hands down the Beatles all due respect to Zep, Floyd, Stones et al.
One of my top 3 Stones songs, finally! Thank you!
Love this song, and if you're looking for great Rolling Stone ballads, check out "Ruby Tuesday" and "As Tears Go By". Others have suggested Left Banke's "Walk Away, Renee" (so great) and "Pretty Ballerina" (must hear, and definitely check out Alice Cooper's version of "Pretty Ballerina" as well.)
If you're looking for something a little more from the Rolling Stones, maybe take a listen to "19th Nervous Breakdown" and "Mother's Little Helper". Might not be their best or most well known songs, but still pretty good
The Rolling Stones "Get Off My Cloud",, "Fool To Cry" & "Ruby Tuesday"
When Amber loves a song (like in this video) it just puts a huge smile on my face. Thanks Jay and Amber for all the great reactions.
I love you both so much!! Truly beautiful souls and spirits!!
Peace ☮️ ✌️ Love ❤️ and Happiness 😁
"Jumpin Jack Flash" "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" are some others to check out. Yes, Jordan it sounded like an ice cream truck to me as well in a circus way. To some, it sounds like a music box. Luckily, I finished ice cream tonight haha. Btw, Jumpin Jack Flash is a movie with Whoopi Goldberg.
One of my favorite Stones songs,Classic Stones,Released the year I was born, The summer of love, psychedelic 60s
60 Albums? Not quite.
@@donferoce5652 plus hits they wrote for others like Cilla Black and Peter & Gordon
at the same time the stones made much better music
Mothers little helper my favorite Rolling Stones song from the same time period.
The best rock n roll band of all time is arguably the The Rolling Stones!
Ditto on top 3.
great reaction. you guys are a clean slate for alotta these songs which not only makes it fun and fresh but reminds of the first time I heard it.
Best band ever Pink Floyd hands down
College student born in 2003 here.
Yes, and there's really not any serious debate now, either.
None of them are "Definitely the best band ever" by any definition other than taste.
plenty of debate, stones have waaay more great songs@@tombeyerlein3813
I like to think of each person as a rainbow. Some people are bright and vibrant while some may be more muted but all are beautiful.
I highly recommend you react to the Stones performing "Can't Always Get What You Want" live at the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Mick Jagger is just a bad-ass in that amazing performance!
All just I want to say is God bless you!! I literally cried of how much fun you've gotten!
Oh please the stones smokes every fuckin band they are the true definition of rock roll .nobody beats the stones and I've seen over 200 bands.
@@josehborba3004 The Who can compare on occasion, and the Beatles are the Beatles, but yeah, the Stones are sitting on top of the mountain.
It's the Stones...nothing more needs to be said...PERFECTION!
Well it seems to me that you can trace back almost every semblance of music styles to the band that started this snowball rolling wildly and unending on a journey lasting a lifetime! That of course would be undeniably " The Beatles" !
not really
This is definitely one of their more mellow songs!! They have so many great great songs!!!
I'm glad to see you both appreciating a classic song. Give "2,000 light years from home" a listen, it is on the same album released back in 1967. I enjoyed the Stones psychedelic sound from this time period.
She's a Rainbow/2000 Light Years from Home was the second single from this album. It was released the day before Christmas Eve in 1967.
@@willdwyer6782 i love the lantern, a song about those who go before us...
