    I found your channel while looking for small touchpad for my own controller project and I am very impressed with your work and I have a question. Would you consider using the motherboard of the Minisforum EM780 for the future project or could its small size be a problem due to the display?

    • @cncdan
      @cncdan  2 місяці тому

      Smaller is always better when it comes to finding enough room to jam everything in! I looked into some similar pc's but ultimately decided on the Beelink because I could get it locally pretty easily and it's size worked pretty well with the screen I was using anyway so a smaller PC wouldn't have been a huge help on this project!

    Hey man, great Project. I have built one handheld as well, though only android Based, but it did have real wii mote capability by including the infrared LEDs for the wii motes for playing games on a TV like Wii Sports.
    Now I am looking to build a second, better one, and obviously want to fix my shortcomings of my old one. Exspecially my analog should trigers felt horrible. Is there any chance I could but your PCB Design off you? Looks great!

    • @cncdan
      @cncdan  29 днів тому +1

      In my experience, it's usually the mechanism of the triggers that affects the feel. I do have all the files available for my previous project which you could take a look at. It works in a pretty similar manner to this one. I will open source the designs for this one, but I need to finish it all off first!

      @@cncdan yeah, obviously the mechanics is to blame.the brief look I had it looked like the shape of your pcb somehow included the trigger mechanicsm, thats why I asked, but I might be wrong. Because in my old build, I glued a Potentiometer into my 3d hausing, which again, didnt feel great at all, so maybe integrating it on the pcb might be better

    Oh it would be kinda cool if you could display some kind of game information through the LEDs at the sticks. I know this is a one of a kind device (for now) but I can imagine a bunch of things:
    Changing color depending on health
    Acting like a circular health bar
    RPM Guage in racing games
    Or even in Windows:
    Having it display CPU Utilization on one Stick and RAM usage on the other
    Stuff like that

    • @cncdan
      @cncdan  3 місяці тому +1

      Yes, I like this idea! I probably don't have the necessary programming experience to make that happen, but the control of the lights over serial is very simple so anyone that does know how to pull information like that from a game would have no trouble controlling the lights!
