    @2:45 "if I want to stealth camp"!!! This thing has a big wooden box with multiple kayaks on the back and a solar panel. Super stealth camper!!

    • @Simplefng
      @Simplefng 4 роки тому +2

      Giant wooden box. That's looks like a cabin. Totally not stealth. But most people don't care as long as you don't back residential parking ( spots in front of houses) most will leave you alone.
      Especially with the homeless crisis. Lots of west coast PDs won't bother you unless have music blaring, wood stove fired up or dumping water tanks.

    I first saw a RTT used this way on an ex military Swedish off road vehicle and was really impressed with just how clever and practical it was, bolted directly onto the roof with the base cut out and trimmed.
    Nice to see this idea still being used as it's a quick and reliable method of installing a pop top roof onto any vehicle, if doing it on a low budget, use a large roof cargo box, some used tailgate telescopic hydraulic rams and use a cheap waterproof tarp to make the fabric tent!
    This camper is really neat and functional, with everything the owner needs in a compact footprint.

    I actually, desperately, wanted to build out my Ford Ranger XLT, however it could barely hold any additional weight, just too light a truck, so I started looking at van builds because I wanted to stay minimal, but, I could not pass up the diesel short bus I am converting. Videos like these are awesome and inspiring. I can still to the minimal living, but the bus (living space 10x7) gives me the option to have plenty of on board water supply.

    It's pretty cool that the same features that make the water craft work in the water, make them low drag at highway speeds!

    A bow saw is super easy to use for wood that size for whatever it's worth. Almost as fast as a chainsaw but much safer.

    It will definitely help me in mine and the wife's Build. Trying to think up the correct vehicle, but we also think if we didn't like it or some stuff about it then we write that up and rem. Then sell it and try to break even at the very least. Where's his info to follow him?

    That's a super cool idea ....wanted to do that with my jeep were I can get in it from the inside....cheaper then buying a j30 poptop for 9,000.... cool camper ...and love the mini stove .

      That would be a way cool setup on a jeep and super low profile because you wouldn't need a rack to mount the tent on

    I do the same thing, minus the kayaking, substitute skiing, and when I saw the rooftop camper, I was so pissed I didn't think of that! haha, I built pretty much a redi-shed on the back of my f-250 and i sucks! Only cost me 500$ but damn this is a way better way to go!

      It is a small saw if you're in Forestry work. Being out like he is you never know if a tree fell and is going to be blocking the road to your exit.

    I great upgrade for that set up would be an electric chain saw. The battery could also be used for other tools, but also, you wouldn’t have to carry 2 stroke gas, and the electric chainsaw are much much smaller.
