    BIG Mistake here, never use "Particle Board" on any Trailer project when it comes to the floor! Particle Board is like a sponge, it will swell up just from the moisture in the air, since you didn't even paint it with oil base primer paint with Mildew block. Mold will form from the bottom of that trailer. Food for Thought..... RUST; use rust converter spray paint.... Overall you did a good job.....

      @@mihoyhoy I'll make it simple lol, Plywood period is the best or just regular Pine or Oak boards, even cedar, depending how you are going to use it... Particle board has to be in a stable environment, and I see this in trailers, campers all the time and see the issues first hand. Even at shore houses, when you don't live in these trailers & campers etc only part time; with them setting there, moisture swells up Particle Board like a sponge, then Mold. Construction Industry uses it as a base for counter tops & such because its so cheap. I use nothing but Plywood & pine boards for interior. In my own Trailer outside & the floor yet to be covered is all pressure treated Plywood, lumber, frame & all. I will be using all foam board insulation. Tung & Grove planking for the ceiling. And hopefully be on UA-cam soon.... Interior walls I use an oil base primer that is Mold resistant before doing any Insulation. Prepping is the most important thing to do... I'm converting my travel trailer into a mini camper. Any other questions LOL! Thank you, Rich...

      I have some cut particle board flooring that l have left outside standing on its edge straight onto the dirt for 8 years now, it's a little buckled but really hasn't lost its integrity, I did this to satisfy myself about the products quality, correct flooring particle board is a superior product to flooring ply in my opinion.

      @@andhewonders LOL! I have watch furniture under a structure outside that swelled up like a sponge because there base & was Particle board. Particle board is Not meant to be used on any sub floor because its not structurally stable by U.S. building code standards. Ants love them to when there left outside. I also work in a Architectural Salvage Yard. We have 100yr old doors made with old growth wood, it doesn't rot. Particle board dissolves, I had to throw out of 4'x8' sheets of Particle Board last week that was all warped & swelled with mold growing on it. You won't find Particle board on any Boat LOL! @@danielharris4965 well typically a wall is built with 16 inch on center studs, his are not, and since they are load bearing it might cause issues if he ever goes to a place that has large amounts of snow. there's also no blocking in his wall so his studs can possibly twist and bend. however it is a small structure so I'm sure it will hold together fine short term but he will definitely see some structural issues in the long run. the best case scenario is he learns from this experience and can avoid silly mistakes for his next one but seeing as he had no knowledge or experience in the field he did a good job.

    Great build for someone with zero experience and it came to life with the coats of paint and sidings. I do have to say though if in the future you build another I would recommend taking the existing boards that came with the trailer and even replacing them with pressure treated ones or sealing the preexisting ones and never use Particle Board for anything thatll be exposed to elements. Im sure others have mentioned it but its gonna fall apart. That being said I would recommend maybe taking it somewhere and seeing if you can at least get the bottom of the trailer resprayed with a line X material or even a POR15 to help seal it a little. Overall your video was great and your attitude throughout this whole thing was good. Hopefully I can start my build sometime soon and can travel just like you are. Be safe!

    It's a nice shell and really pretty on the outside. You will probably spend at least that much more on the interior, which is still great! I recommend solar panels, tankless hot water, a mini split heat and air, and a recirculating filtered water for your shower.

    • @lethiapage4767
      @lethiapage4767 2 роки тому +3

      @@minkademko2335 yeah you could prioritize one here. I have seen nice generous showers in Sprinter vans. They earn their place in the layout as you can store the toilet in there and have a private place for using it. You can also rig it for wet storage, such as wet laundry, rain gear, snowboards, ski jackets, surf suits...not to mention pets water, litter box etc. And if you don't want to designate hard space for it, you can do something collapsible using the kitchen sink sprayer and setup curtains in a walkway or passthrough area. And if you don't want that you can setup a shower on the outside of the structure. Lots and lots of reasons to consider adding a bathroom esp if you live there full time.
      For me the thing would be that recirculating system...a real game changer. Could simplify the whole design of a tiny space used off grid. What it does is collect used water from the shower, filters it in real time, and before you run out it is already cleaned and sent back up to the showerhead. So you could rig this up to a combination shower and kitchen tap, pair it with solar tankless hot water. Take an hour long shower using only a couple gallons of water and then cook with it, drain your potatoes, and then wash your hands with it. Until you consume it, it's reusable. So it would drastically change the comfort level and stress assoc with boondocking and watching every drop of water, also the stress of water quality in unknown places. Would also help with design and layout because you wouldn't need so much water on board overall. That's more pantry or closet space. Or room for your guitar.

      Pick up your cross and follow Jesus! The world is quickly headed for destruction, and sooner or later you will have to sit at the judgement seat and give an account for your actions. Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36). Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life! - Revelation 3:20.
      Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God tho.
      Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc and you should get a response. Have a blessed day!

    Particle board, man your gonna have to replace that in a few years (possibly even 1 year) once that stuff gets wet it weakens significantly and with the spot it’s located in the moisture will just sit there so it’s likely to rot pretty fast. When you repair it I recommend you find pressure treated wood as the outer most layer. Then you should put a sealing coat/weatherproof and water proofing coat on the pressure treated wood to prevent water damage.

    Really cool tiny home build. For someone who claims to know zilch, you do a really good job. I'm impressed. Looking forward to the interior build. Oh, and a cool video too. Thanks for sharing your experience. 👍😀

    i've always loved the idea of having and living in a tiny home. costs less, needs minimal maintenance, and easier to clean. plus, as an introvert it makes it easier to use as an excuse to not have people over lmao

    Honestly this is inspiring. I wanna live where ever I want whenever I want and the idea of living simpler and indulging more in your environment is so intriguing to me especially if I can build it myself. Great video and love this kind of content from you. 👌🏼🤘🏼
