2021: The Year of the STOL CH 701

- The Zenith STOL CH 701 made us all proud in 2021! Watch and listen as Zenith Aircraft's Roger Dubbert explains why the CH 701 grabbed so many headlines this year, as he takes you flying in his own personal STOL CH 701 "Sky Jeep."
First introduced in 1986, the CH 701 aircraft was developed as an “off-airport” short take-off and landing kit aircraft to fulfill the demanding requirements of both sport pilots and first-time builders. With the STOL CH 701, designer Chris Heintz combined the features and advantages of a “real” airplane with the short-field capabilities of an “ultralight” aircraft. The aircraft features fixed leading-edge slats for high lift, full-span flaperons (both ailerons and flaps), an all-flying rudder, and durable all-metal construction.
While the basic design has remained the same, many significant improvements have been introduced over the years, including a higher useful load, easier and quicker build kits, and more detailed drawings and step-by-step assembly instructions.
The popular Chris Heintz STOL designs include the CH 750 series, made up of the STOL CH 750, the CH 750 Cruzer and the newer STOL CH 750 Super Duty model. The CH 750 series are larger than the original CH 701 to offer more comfort (in a larger cabin), more engine choices and additional capabilities.

As far as I can see, Zenith is earning its way into the Hall of Respect.
I am so glad that you guys are redeveloping the 701 kit. I think it's well deserved considering that it was your original STOL aircraft. I completed mine from Scatch 9 years ago and just installed floats this past year and it's been well above my expectations. Great design!
We hope that the new year 2022 got off to a good start!
A few hours in advance, my wife Catrin and I received confirmation of our order for the ZENITH STOL CH 701 by email.
We are very happy and hope that 2022 will be the year of our CH 701!
Coooooooool 701 matched hole drilled. Watch the sales climb once the upgraded kit is available. Excited for Zenith and for the CH701
😀😀😀😀👍
Great video! Brings back memories from years ago of my first flight with you in the 701! I've never failed to learn something every time I watch you fly. Now I've got nearly 10 years and 725+ hrs in my STOL 750 and still grinning!
I really enjoyed this video. I am not a pilot. I just fly in the Microsoft Flight Simulator. The 701 with those colors is now my favorite. Great to see it in real life.
LOVE ZENITH AIRCRAFT!❤️
Yes, very happy with the upcoming matched hole kit for the CH701!!!!! I love building and looking forward to my future airplane.
Hi Roger great video thanks for all your help and support for building our project 701 can’t wait to fly the project 701. We are not done yet building and I’m already thinking about the new 701 match drilled for the next project.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏻🤠
excellent landing. Congratulations. Happy new year
Happy New Year!🎉
Enjoyed.
What a cool plane.
Sorry to hear Christopher Desmond sold his 701. I bought one of his back country flying videos a while ago and it was fantastic. I was always hoping that he would come out with another video at some point.
Hope the new kit comes with a raised skylight and no crossbar like the 750. Great aircraft!
I love this plane. Hope to be in the owners club one day
Roger, what airspeed are you climbing out at normally?
It is suitable for operating on aircraft carriers
The CH 701 "ZK-JUG" has New Zealand registration. I think the competition is the one at Omaka, NZ.
Yes, it's New Zealand (and not Australia)
Dean is based at Rangiora, NZ. JUG
What is weight of zenith ch 701 aircraft without pilot . ?
Does the 701 accommodate an aerovee?
He likes saying 701
Is this a part 103 plane?
Hi There. How can i get in possession of this aircraft in European Union (Romania) ? I’m interested in assembled only. Not as a “flat pack”?
I understand that is not available from Czech Republic since 2006-07
You gotta chat with sales on the website. Roger or Sebastian will talk to you directly.
@@andrewbetances1203 ok. Thank you Andrew!
Thanks for the fly along! Would the CH701 be a practical airplane for 400lbs of people, a full load of fuel, and a change of clothes?
You'd be better off with the 750 for that kind of mission.
@@JustPlaneChris yeah I was originally looking at the 750, but the 701 is such a great little plane. Alas, it is too small for my needs. The 750 would be much more practical.
Who designed the original Zenith aircraft was this person a aeronautical engineer?
Yes he was and that great man’s name was Christopher Heintz (where the name Zenith came from)

Thanks, it's a great plane .👍😲
I wish I could fly one in MS Flight Sim ... too poor to own a real airplane anymore.
In the US, there is mo leading zero in the runway number. It is runway six.
Что трындит,не понимаю....но смотрю регулярно
