That plane is simply incredible. I have never seen anything quite like that.
Zenith CH701 in USA, G1 Aviation in France, ICP Savannah in Italy, BRM Okavango in Portugal. All the best STOL planes.
Wow, on take-off, these beastie just jumps right into the sky, doesn't it?
I've seen this aircraft IRL. Amazing!
Wow ! That is awesome!
I like your STOL PLANE demost
It is a beast...I love it!
Amazing.. it jumps very quickly
The excellent car, it would be desirable to know those characteristics
Can tell its a light plane when its tweaking around in the wind by itself.
i love Zenith STOL
Great video, i love these little Super STOLs. Runway? No, drive way...
I'm getting one!
Too much fun!
Nice chopper!
Jumping into the air.
Not to take anything at all away from this guy, but watch the STOL competitions in Valdez, Alaska. They land routinely in UNDER a plane length. I think the best is 9 feet, although it looked like 5.
They do it 25 knts headwind
If youre going to have an engine failure this is the kite to be sat in!! :-)
I'm not sure Mark, i spoke to one pilot of these and he said they are so draggy that without prop wash over the tail, you can end up trying to round out an unpowered approach only to find no elevator authority and the nose dropping into the ground!!
I realize I'm quite randomly asking but does anybody know of a good website to watch new series online?
if that plane land on the heli pad what will happend and what if the plane take off on the helipad?
What was th e 120hp engine that seized?
im gonna buy one of these. they can take of really fast, so i can just *FLY*
Okay gracias
you need a 2 cycle drone engine.
You have a Viking motor would you recommend it! I have a Jabiru 2200 85hp feels under powered
For my 701. Does it affect the over all load ability. Reason need to know my wife and I like to take trips together camping and small airports. I weigh 200 and wife 140lbs.
He said he has a 100 hp Rotax now, it used to have a 120 hp maybe that was a Viking, but nevertheless he says there's a noticeable difference, which is obvious, but the way he says it shows it's a bit more than merely noticeable. There's a vid on here called "Can you have too much power: and the short answer is "no": ua-cam.com/video/piQNn-1kdHc/v-deo.html
Only one could match this plane.
A bird.
True plane doing what it suppose to do.
Imagine that on a jet fighter.
Dammnnn
Hola amigo
What do you think about to use motorbike (yamaha, honda or suzuki) engine in aircraft?
Hello,
we would like to show the video in our aviation museum Laatzen-Hannover. May we use the video and show it to the visitors? Is that possible?
Greetings
Ulli Schulz
Los arman en Argentina en Avionetas Picantes , Córdoba.
Fly it like you STOL it.
(facepalm)
Se puede importar a México ?
Booooo👍... :-)
Good
Muito show
Hi how are you?
I made this plane on my own
spettacolare atterra e docolla in pochi metri
Motorcycle with wings
Too short take off it's awesome. 😯
I have no idea what you wrote but thought it deserved a thumbs up.
I would think that in high winds not so much fun to fly especially landing.
Zeus,
Your definition of fun might be different than mine...
Wow!
How much does a tire weigh?
👍😎
Can anyone explain why the aerofoil on the rear wings is reversed?
The center of gravity on airplanes that have the tail in the rear like this one is forward of the main wings, so the one in the rear is inverted to apply a downward pressure to keep the nose up.
Rocket Surgeon I assume this a design prominently used for STOL aircraft?
I'm no airplane engineer, I just fly them, but as far as I know any airplane with the horizontal stabilizer in the rear is made that way.
The elevator leading edge is rigged inverted to give low speed pitch up control (mostly from prop wash I believe). This thing takes off like a home sick angel!!
It aids flying stability and trim, Aircraft engineer of 25 years. you'll find most large aircraft, 737, 747, A380 have a horizontal stabilizer constructed this way. Flat or rather flat upper surface with the cambered surface underneath.... the tail isn't a lifting surface..(technically speaking) The wings do that. they're only there for stability and control.
Too much yaking on the ground
Those tyres must be filled with helium!
They are low pressured so they are big they can function i think.
if you filled a tire with helium then the tires would get heavier because the helium takes up A LOT less space than air.
Big tires. Small tail.
Abiones caseros
Looks like a cartoon plane.
Pop down to the river💪💪💪💪
Took too long of a take-off roll...who has 20’ to take off?! Better put a JATO on that.
Every Australian video reminds me of emigrating to Australia 1965.
Except this video is not Australian...... ;-)
Top decola na hora posy Qra Cão peta alfa beta fron hells
Takes off more like a helicopter!!!
better, safer than a helicopter ?!
Is it even possible to stall that plane?
Yes, between 25-30 degrees Angle of Attack!
Chris Heinz is a brilliant light-aircraft designer. Now retired. He wrote several books.
Aren't they better with a tail wheel?
The CH-701 never came with a tailwheel, unless some homebuilders swapped one over. The designer intended for it to utilize all available concepts into one package to be easy to fly, and land extremely short. Trike gear works just fine for this as can be seen here: just needed that steep tail-angle to clear the ground. I suggest checking out Zenith aircraft website for all the details.

Life and choices, way back when it was.... Wife..Airplane, Airplane.. Wife, ok Wife
fast forward 30 years
Pay Ex Wife.. Beer, Beer..Pay Ex Wife .... then whoopi !!! EX Wife got Re-Married
Now ... Airplane..Food, Food..Airplane
Flying, especially in a craft like this is just at the TOP of my list of things to do.
KTMB?
lol, a shrink would tell you that your obsession with flying is a submission to crashing, because of the devastation and anguish from the breakup....fly on, dude!
30ft take off.. Longer tables..
10M rotation. Very impressive.
Was that a tail strike on takeoff?
These things are solid steel tube frame built for extreme punishment daily. If you look real close you'll see a wear bar under the tail specifically for that. Unlike a typical Cessna 152 POS popcan that you have to rebuild if a bird lands on the tail.......😁👍
Is this thing homemade LOL
Realy STOL plane
35knot do not exceed speed.
it increases your ground speed not your air speed
Sorry, just joking about the max airspeed.
...and a 36knot stall speed -lol
Ugly - but fine!
I just don't trust Rotax. Too many failures. I know there's forums all across the world and they all swear by them... I just watched a video of a Kitfox going down because the Rotax failed. Give me the Lycoming thank you very much
Shannon McDowell like Lycoming has never had an engine failure. rotax engines are very reliable when properly maintained.
My dad had a Lycoming in his plane. It failed too. It happens with the best of engines.
As a matter of fact..the Rotax 914E (latest big $$ fuel injected turbo was just grounded for Sodium Valve issues!...I would be pissed if I parted with $40,000 for a new motor that was grounded
Lycomings suffer in-flight engine failures aproximatly once every 3,600 hours, there is approximately five fatalities per 100,000 hours in General Aviation, a very small number of those are due to engine failure that was not fuel related. And that number has not decreased since the 1980s because the inharent crude design of old fashioned air cooled engines cannot be improved significantly. If automobiles had a total engine failure every 3,600hrs or 100k miles, sometimes killing passengers by careening into trees and fields and streams, people would be outraged. Not in aviation, we call that the gold standard of reliablility.

A toy 😉
This video needs English subtitles. Cannot understand a single fucking word they say.
Interesting airplane , but useless for real bush pilots who need room to carry cargo to the back country...no room to carry anything...
Stop saying no space we have one of these and there is plenty space in the back
@@joshgc5159 Sorry but I am talking about real bush pilots carrying hundreds of pounds of cargo into the back country, the weight would sit that plane right down on it's tail, with it's front wheel off the ground......These planes are toys, great fun to play with, and do competitions with............but not work horses that are needed by real working bush pilots......But I would love to fly one...................
What do you mean by 'real' bush pilots. I think these guys with the Zeniths would call themselves, 'bush' pilots if they're flying in the same areas and conditions etc. Perhaps you mean 'commercial bush pilots'.
@@historicalmachines You are right, I am talking about bush pilots supplying villages and towns with hundreds of pounds of supplies for survival, not sport planes for fun...they look like they would be great for fun, but not much heavy work......they are assume little airplanes though ....
Bruce Baker sorry man did not realize you were talking about heavy duty planes like real tail draggers like the super cub
Too much talk
Nervous interviewer would drive me nuts
blablablabla
Maybe learn how to talk first so people can understand what your talking about
No need to be rude.
This is the WORST type of video. I have to sit through 3.5 minutes of BLAB by someone who wants to tell his life story for ONE takeoff and TWO landings, taking a total of maybe 20 seconds. Wast my time.
There's plenty of other videos on our channel with NO BLAB. We have uploaded over 1000 aviation videos in the past ten years -- if you can't find something on our channel that you enjoy, then it's not our fault....
