Simply looking for the ultimate gaming experience through my preferred console. Everyone keeps trying to say wait for the PS6. I mean, why should I have to wait 2-3 years to enjoy the best Sony has to offer right now?
because this is a shit upgrade. You will get the best experience for a console currently right now but the amount of money you are about to waste for extra 5 to 7 fps and barely notable image quality you might as well get a pc and wait for the 6. The money you are about to spend you can easily get high end pc or laptop and play this game at over 120 fps with very high settings on a pc. You can paying for 2 extra modes that barely show a difference and the screen will be 120 hz but the game still gonna run at the same 60 max fps while you are not doing much. Plus this is only a beta for the 6 which will actually have newer games the pro is good for remastered older games you already beat on the ps4 lol. but like I said that would be the best console experience you could get now but its the ps6 is a way smarter move and its probably going to take 2 years max more than likely coming out early 2026
@@alvinamana1459 I hear you, I truly do. All of the reasons you’ve stated are why I’m still on the fence. A clear in person visual would really be the make or break for me as you can only gain so much from a compressed UA-cam video. But, ultimately it comes down to future proofing for game releases that aim to take full advantage of what that Pro system is truly capable of. We don’t have that yet, regardless of what few 50+ titles get the Pro Enhancement at this current time. A release like GTA 6 is a prime example of what I mean there. The type of title I feel that’s going to make a lot more want to get their hands on that Pro. Personally, I just want a good sale if I do go that route. And, the more I think about it, there’s no way we’ll be seeing the PS6 by 2026. For one, that’s too soon to fall in with Sony’s cycle of how they push from one console generation to the next. Especially, within the pace of how they’ve released the different versions we have to choose from. And, the kind of hardware they’re looking to push with that thing, that’s the type of mass development where we may actually not see it until 2028. Could be as late as 2030. With all of the money each of us could make within that timeframe, we’re not going to be thinking twice about a $700 price tag from this day. Well aware of the principle in that. Still, whether we’re talking 2-3 or 3-5 years, it’s not a long time regarding our lifespans. But, it is a fairly long time to have to wait for someTHING. We’ll see I guess. Still deciding, ha
Sending mine back today. Not having a disc drive was really getting annoying. The graphical upgrades aren't automatic. So many games waiting for devs to release patch. I'll probably buy it somewhere down the line if devs are really behind it.
@@loveistheanswer5924 2.1 allows for the vrr/120hz 4k modes. its also useful for Gaming PCs to even use as monitors now a days with the low latency capabilities of oled and high refresh with 2.1.
This video was over the second you need two 65" TVs side by side to see the difference. You'll get better frame rates most of the time, that's what you'll notice. The rest you won't at regular distance.
So when you upgrade a graphics card. Do you expect your game to look better or get higher fps? Cause if I’m right hey focused more on fps with most titles
I have a Pro, and I immediately can tell the difference once I hooked it up to my LG OLed 45 in monitor, The Pro runs a lot smoother, and the graphic details are clearer. especially at 60 frames its awesome and well worth the money, folks who are hating on the Pro are the ones with lent in their pockets.
as a pc player wanting to make the switch i just cant see myself playing on 30fps or something stuttering im assuming thats more where the pro is gonna be better vs pure graphics, like its still the same game its not gonna just magically make it look remastered overhaul
Comparison not really accurate if the TVs aren’t the same and calibrated to the same settings. Can’t say if the differences are due to the console or the tv.
I mean it’s not a bad upgrade but there’s not enough games that are majorly optimized for it and it’s not a big enough difference to justify over $700 when the PS5 still looks pretty good. I can definitely wait for the PS6, my PS5 is still doing enough for me
PS5 pro is worth it when things are optimized. Heading into the future this will be more and more the case where the PS5 pros advantages are increasingly utilized. For casual gamers the PS5 is beautiful and all they will need and want. If you are a bit of a tech head and want to push things then get a pro. If you already have a PS5 probably give it a miss unless you looking forward to the lineup of pro enhanced games in 2025 which will include GTA6 and many other amazing titles. It could be worth it as game developers utilize the pros advantages more and more with upcoming titles. As things stand now not everything uses the pros advantages the way it should be used. There are bugs to be sorted out and some titles can therefore look worse on a pro. Whether its worth it is in the eye of the beholder. For me personally it is worth it! I did not have a PS5 myself only my son did so I know what its all about. I went straight to the pro. I know what titles I want to play and I want that extra FPS etc on the more demanding titles etc. I love the finer details and I am a bit of a tech head as well.

So as far as the pro enhanced games go, is the ps5 pro plug and play? or do you have to manually change the settings to pro enhanced when playing pro enhanced games on the ps5 pro? Because on the regular ps5 the settings are default Fidelity.
Gotta change settings but as I picked up my own pro and sold my PS5 1st gen console to a co worker yesterday and tried comparing everything like this video. It's not worth getting unless your still on the previous old consoles
I also wanna know the latency. Does it react faster? Is there less lag on the pro when playing online games? That’s really my biggest issue. I’ve heard pro are faster and less latency issues
Great watch as always and insightful info. I think for the hardcore fans its a definite upgrade but for the average user they will stay away from mid generation refreshes and just wait until the next generation comes round. I always compare it to like people who buy yearly phone upgrades versus people who upgrade like once every 3+ years, coz the year in year difference is so minimal but worth it for some but then for some including myself we just wait.
For 800 dollars and if you add a disc drive and stand , SSD card, you’re spending 1k for a slight upgrade in graphics and loading speed, the host can afford it, day to day guys may not want to toss that much money into something that isn’t that much difference when you can now get a PS 5 slim for under 400 dollars.
@jurieviljoen3385 It doesn't mean he's broke. He's just not someone who is looking to waste money on such a minor upgrade. I can afford a PS5 Pro, but I won't buy one on principle because I'd rather spend a little more and just buy a decent PC if I need more performance in the future. The PS5 Pro is a rip-off, plain and simple.
You can use you base PS5 stand on the PS5 pro. You can use the expansion SSD from a base PS5 in a PS5 pro. If you have the PS5 slim disc drive you can use that with a PS5 pro as well. So the only thing you need is the console, which you can trade your base PS5 to reduce the price for. Ya'll dudes online are trying way too hard to make the PS5 pro pricing an issue and the reality is if you have a PS5 and you want an upgrade....the pro is a good way to go....if you happy with your base PS5....keep your base PS5. Stop trying to make this rocket science....its super simple.
I’ve had no issues with mine. Incredible graphics and performance with shocking ray tracing. Alan wake 2 blew me away with how good the ray tracing is. Space marine 2 is also a great use of pssr
I think PS5 Pro will be worth it once devs squeeze all the power they can from the Pro to the point the game has to be set to 30fps for the Standard and Slim and can only run run 60fps on the Pro. Or maybe when 4k60 can only be done on the Pro, but Standard and Slim can only run the game at like 2k60/4k30
I was honestly torn, but this video helped me pull the trigger. I have a 77 LG oled and knowing that it does have quite a noticeable difference, even if only on pro enhanced game, sealed the deal. I also figured going forward more and more games will take advantage of the better hardware and make more "pro enhanced" settings out of the gate. As for the complaints about there not being a ton of games right now that take full advantage of the console to justify the upgrade. I feel like people had the exact same arguments when the og ps5 first released. I lucked out and was able to get a console from PS direct really early on when all the crazy scalping and stuff was going on, and everyone was saying how there was no reason to upgrade to a ps5 from ps4 pro. Im pretty sure one of the big complaints was the console not having enough games, or rather "optimized" games because Sony and studios were still developing with PS4 in mind. I think the pro will see the same slow movement toward developers making games with the pro in mind and we'll see more and more adoption of pro by the masses.
Thank you thank you for this review. It’s what I’ve been saying since day one that I got mine. For me and the games I play the fidelity and smooth 60fps game play aren’t compromised. Esp in ff7 rebirth. For me it’s worth it and was 400 bucks after trade in of my 4 year old ps5. Yes it’s not my 4090 desktop pc but nothing beats ease of use and comfort in my living room on the big screen with no PC distractions. I come from consoles and can respect what they are trying to do. Bruh was playing on the Alienware Oled 55 in monitor Damn you got all the tech. Ff7 rebirth on regular ps5 performance looked so muddy. Now on ps5 pro it’s super sharp and detailed and keeps 60fps.
Ngl, you won't really be in a situation to compare em cause you'll never play on both consoles at once, and your system will get used to appreciating what you already have. Both the ps5 and the pro have amazing graphics
The problem with the Pro is that longevity is going to be so short with no upgrade path until the PS6. It’s not a waste if someone really wants to spend hard earned money on it or if they just can financially. For some people though the fact it struggles so much with 4K 60 with ray tracing already in the best triple A games makes me think in one year from now it’s going to be back to heavy compromises just £700 out of pocket. If you stick with the base you are admitting that ok 4K 60 ray tracing is off the cards totally in most cases and living with that going outside of balanced and quality modes to performance mode to hit it. Getting the pro is like one year or two if that at max on borrowed time until your back to performance mode compromises again. At that point do you look at your pro like yes little dude you got me through 5 triple a games in 2 years at 4k balanced and I’m ready to go back down to performance mode again? It’s a short ride to 4k balanced with RT for a few games but if you got the money or your heart is set on it then do it. At the moment I use a rtx4070 super and play many triple a games 4K quality 60 fps with RT. It’s a 1440p card which punches above its weight and on some games I accept 1440p RT or 4k balanced. The longevity of is that I may go down to what the Pro performs like in a year or two but the Pro will fall a bit too far back to base PS5 for my liking to soon.
I finally got mine this weekend. I expected little considering all the negativity - I’m actually surprised (pleasantly) by how discernible the differences actually are. There really IS a difference, and it’s obvious if you’re interested in graphics. Is it worth it? If you have the money and like graphics, yes. Obviously.
when you buy a game for a PS5, does it have to be a physical disc? or can i buy a game digitally like on steam PC? excuse my ignorance, i am new to consoles
Been loving my pro. I use a 55” LG G2 but I’m in my bedroom when I’m gaming so I sit roughly 4-5 feet away and that’s the perfect size at that distance. Looks amazing
Going from ps5 to ps5 pro doesn’t make sense but if you’re like me, coming from a release day ps4 to a ps5 pro was huge upgrade. If you have to get close to screen to find changes it’s not worth the money
I'm loving my PS5 Pro! Definitely the best way to play on a large 4K screen. I'm now replaying some of my favorite games because of the better graphics and performance.
I'm not sure why people are expecting something different. It's very similar to when they made the ps4 pro. I just got a ps5 with the disc drive for 350 and with games from ebay so I'm very happy with that price and the experience.
I'm really happy with my PS5 Pro especially on a 65" LG G4. I think the extra price point is justified for the 2TB hard drive and slightly higher performance.
I just got my ps5 Pro yesterday. Yet to try it on a good TV, will do that when I'm back home. I know it's going to be worth it. Got the last of us 2, need for speed, Cod back ops 6, wukong and some other games. I'm hoping to love it
I have a 65-inch TV, but I sit on the other side of the room, so there's no way I will notice the difference in sharpness. On the other hand, I will notice the flickering in the games where PSSR doesn't work properly
Hey There just a tip for Horizon, when he games are playing on balanced mode it just puts the monitor/TV into 120hz. However, the game is actually capping at 40FPS. The performance pro pushed the framrates up! Just thought I share that! Happy Gaming! Overall game looks incredible anyway!
Its doable when you sit at 6 to 7 feet (2 to 2.5 meters) from your 55 inch tv. With a 65 inch tv you can get away with sitting a bit further, like 8 to 9 feet (around 3 meters) ... Personally, if you already own a PS5, its probably not worth the investment. (unless it goes on sale / or price cut, in the near future)
I find it hard to justify since i can just upgrade my PC GPU to a 4070 TI super instead. But for those without a PC, i can see how it would it would benefit them
Honestly the best part of the pro is a lot of games performance modes have uncapped frame rates now and you can get 100+ fps in games you can only get 60 on the base model
I need to refresh my launch PS5 with the 800gb SSD and I don't have an extra storage SSD...the Pro seems like a good upgrade for me. Not to mention I will be ready for GTA6.
i feel like for console the best way to play is to use your console to play last gen games . so the best way to play any ps4 game is to wait until ps5 comes out and then you will see 60-120fps 4k across the board and this is the same logic i can use on ps5 games .so i will wait until ps6 to play them
Thanks for the video. Are you experiencing the dreaded PS5 Pro Wifi connectivity issues where wifi drops halfway through a game download and error is received saying DNS cannot be resolved while trying to reconnect?
I moved to pc gaming and have gotten a PS for exclusives but mostly ratchet and clank. The pro specs are intereesting to me for visuals and consistent frame rate. Still the price is hard to justify since i want discs...
When I had a ps4 and upgraded to a pro ; it didn't feel worth it. I'm getting the same vibe with this one. Holding onto my base model ps5 a little longer this time around.
I was skeptical myself but I have to say there is definitely a difference. I have been loving my pro. Not only are the pro enhanced games fn flawless but all my ps4 games all look like remasters with the upscaling. All gameplay is smoother and there’s double the console storage. The price tag is definitely shitty. I traded my ps5 and took a chuck out of savings but I don’t regret it one bit.
Thanks and great review. I live in a flat and my Samsung 55" UHD 120Hz is only 10 feet away with my PS5 and it would probably look better but there is no updrade for GTAV and so I will wait until GTAVI comes out (if I live long enough! heh heh) and then 'maybe' buy the PS5Pro. I never regretted upgrading from my old PS4 to the PS4Pro and UHD at last and wow! heh heh
People that can t afford PS5 PRO are hating over it. I ve got 55" OLED Samsung 4k 144Hz and I can tell that on warzone PS5 feels like FULL HD due to dynamic resolution and PS5 PRO like 3-4k due to increase in GPU and AI scaling. Definitly worth any penny.
The TV on the right looks much better, it's probably a newer model, the colors are sharper, can you tell me the model of the TV you're using for comparison, I know they're Samsung, thanks
what about the PS5 vs the Pro for games like GTA or 2k25? where the visuals aren't so sharp? does it really matter or would I be wasting money on the Pro for games that are just lower quality to begin with? I'm a techie & thinking about the console for my bf (who is not a techie). please help 😬
Way worth it. I bought a 65 inch oled for my pro and it looks sharper on the bigger screen than my base ps5 on a 55 inch oled .. that tells you everything

Those same fools will say they are gonna just wait for the ps6 pro when the ps6 drops. Jumping through hoops just to say the grapes dont taste sour! 😂
Sending mine back today. Not having a disc drive was really getting annoying.
The graphical upgrades aren't automatic. So many games waiting for devs to release patch.
I'll probably buy it somewhere down the line if devs are really behind it.
The lack of disk drive I get
Curious what display you have?
Because I see the difference in my 120 hz vrr 65 inch qled
Should have included if the smaller TVs were oles or not. Also if they supported the 2.1 hdmi which makes a huge difference but overall great video
Why 2.1 hdmi makes a huge difference? What kind of TV i have to buy to get the full ps5 pro experience? And how much they cost?

This video was over the second you need two 65" TVs side by side to see the difference. You'll get better frame rates most of the time, that's what you'll notice. The rest you won't at regular distance.
So when you upgrade a graphics card. Do you expect your game to look better or get higher fps? Cause if I’m right hey focused more on fps with most titles
You usually get both.
Cope harder bro 😭🙏🏼
@@Nothing-rd9zhyou the only one coping. difference is huge on an actual TV. youtube compression kills it.
You will see a difference but it’s not a big difference
@@Nothing-rd9zhfr they delusional lol. This is nothing like th ps4 pro from the ps4. This is barely any difference whatsoever for 700 bucks 🤡🤣
Return and get your money back I'm not sure why you would give Sony $800 without a disk drive or stand
as a pc player wanting to make the switch i just cant see myself playing on 30fps or something stuttering im assuming thats more where the pro is gonna be better vs pure graphics, like its still the same game its not gonna just magically make it look remastered overhaul
The pro still stutter a lot, and the upscaler is really bad in some games. If you have a good pc, stay on it tbh
Best video on the PS5 Pro - especially in regard to TV size. Really helpful. Thanks
IDC what anyone says, I'm getting it.
I changed my mind. Now I have an extra $800 to invest in a PC. Life Hack
$800 on a PC ain't much, but the comment was comical nonetheless 😂

Bruh 😂
That Final Fantacy don't look like it is running at 60fps. They might of doubled the frames to hit 60fps. Which means it is still 30fps.
It's not worth getting unless your still on the previous old consoles
finally some honest review here for the ps5 pro, very thanks!!!
Where did you get the cool teal color plates?!
Tell me youre broke without telling me youre broke😂
@@jurieviljoen3385you think not wanting to spend nearly $1000 on something that isn't with is being broke?
@jurieviljoen3385 It doesn't mean he's broke. He's just not someone who is looking to waste money on such a minor upgrade. I can afford a PS5 Pro, but I won't buy one on principle because I'd rather spend a little more and just buy a decent PC if I need more performance in the future. The PS5 Pro is a rip-off, plain and simple.
@@broughy23Brokie😂
For dragons dogma, depending on your monitor/tv you will have the option on both consoles for 120hz however this is not mentioned in the video
I’ve had no issues with mine. Incredible graphics and performance with shocking ray tracing. Alan wake 2 blew me away with how good the ray tracing is. Space marine 2 is also a great use of pssr
Can you tell me which model of television you use for the comparison please?
I dont rember paying attention to that much detail on a video game. I just enjoy it and play
Tv size matter but what really mater is how close you are to your tv. Most people don’t have large room like the video shown here.
Thank you so much for this graphical comparison, i swear you will always be #1 favorite youtuber and tech reviewer
that's the real, real world test ı've ever seen. Thank u for sharing.
What TVs did you use to test on the OLED? Sony Bravia or LG?
Horizon wasn’t running 120fps on the PS5 it was frame doubling from 60hz to 120hz so that input latency would be less even though it is still 60fps
Love this real world review. Thank you.
Love my PS5 Pro as it is truly the BEST console available right now. ❤
I'll stick with my PS5 slim. It's not worth it, in my opinion.
U buy two and give one to family or friends and use the PS5 pro yourself self good day
Ngl, you won't really be in a situation to compare em cause you'll never play on both consoles at once, and your system will get used to appreciating what you already have.
I see the comments saying you need on Oled tv to see the difference, what about an Oled monitor?
I have the pro and I’m happy ff 16 doesn’t lag spike now also, I always thought the pro was for the folks who love graphics
It looks great on a gaming monitor. I was hesitant, but after trading my og ps5 and getting this for 480 dollars I'm definitely impressed
I just got my ps5 Pro yesterday. Yet to try it on a good TV, will do that when I'm back home. I know it's going to be worth it.
Got the last of us 2, need for speed, Cod back ops 6, wukong and some other games. I'm hoping to love it
So how was it ?
Where did u get the custom controller
This is a great comparison 👏 I think I'll keep my pro now
I find it hard to justify since i can just upgrade my PC GPU to a 4070 TI super instead. But for those without a PC, i can see how it would it would benefit them
When he* goes pixel peeping nose up to the TV you already know it's a worthless "upgrade"
Speak for yourself broke boy
Please enlighten me on how that matters when you’re not sitting that close during normal use?
and yet one mode is 30fps and the other is 60fps. genius.
@@sithhunter965nobody talks about the fps and stability improvements
Ok bro, don't buy it, then. When PS6 comes out and doesn't have major upgrades... I don't want to hear your types yapping.
Not to mention I will be ready for GTA6.
i feel like for console the best way to play is to use your console to play last gen games . so the best way to play any ps4 game is to wait until ps5 comes out and then you will see 60-120fps 4k across the board and this is the same logic i can use on ps5 games .so i will wait until ps6 to play them
Pure facts. That's my principle personally.
Thanks for the video. Are you experiencing the dreaded PS5 Pro Wifi connectivity issues where wifi drops halfway through a game download and error is received saying DNS cannot be resolved while trying to reconnect?
Playing lies of p on the pro has been a joy
One conclusion I got watching your videos for years now, amma say it! You dont know your stuff. Just like ijustine.
Mrwhosetheboss is the best by far
Still no update on the iphone 16 giveaway huh?
I moved to pc gaming and have gotten a PS for exclusives but mostly ratchet and clank. The pro specs are intereesting to me for visuals and consistent frame rate. Still the price is hard to justify since i want discs...
How are you calculating the fps in game is it an app on the play store?
When I had a ps4 and upgraded to a pro ; it didn't feel worth it. I'm getting the same vibe with this one. Holding onto my base model ps5 a little longer this time around.
Totally worth it if you can swing it. If not you’ll be ok and happy with your ps5. But the key here is the optimization by the developers.
This is a *fantastic* video and comparison.
Versatility mode on FF7 mode has a lot of visual noise which really spoils the experience sometimes…
-2k
I just a PS5 Pro and I can tell you that the difference is minimal. However, in select games, the difference is clear
I went from PS5 to PS5 PRO and it feels fresh and cleaner compared to base PS5, so im happy.
Well, I already upgraded my tv with a Sony model that offers VVR and 120 hz. So, if i do decide to cop a Pro, it should look phenomenal.
The thing is, for games like Monster Hunter Wilds, the pro is essentially to get a playable frame rate.
Honestly the only reason that would make me upgrade is if GTA 6 can't run at 1440P 60 fps on the base PS5n I want to get the best experience possible
Great video!!!
I have 55 inch TV 📺 = just feel the smoothness from the controller 🎮 not image qualify quality. Is definitely no more lag.
The main difference for me has been the sharpness increase and everything I play is super smooth.
I agree . ❤❤❤ I have the ps5 and now the ps5 pro. Games that I had more than 100h. Playing there is a glbig change. ❤❤❤
