over here in India a PS5 Pro costs 65,000 rupees (its expensive right now because there isnt a lot of stock) , and the rx 7800 XT alone costs 50,000 rupees 1$=83-84 rupees. im not kidding i checked and its 50,000 rupees for the card alone. cards are cheaper only in the US , other places they are much more expensive. maybe in the US this 16gb of ddr4 rx 7800XT can compare to the PS5 pro but elsewhere not really, for 58,000 rupees you can get an rx 6600 build. also most people are are downplaying the playstation are little kids who lied to their mommies that they would do "coding" "rendering" "animation" to get the pc but we all know all they do is watch youtube and play games, you can do that on ps5 too, it also has things like a browser, netflix , youtube etc. and most people just take a pc for gaming (i am talking about the casuals like all of us not office workers who work in studios) so in that regard even though people are clowning the ps5 pro for being 700$ its much better to get a ps5 pro over a pc , unless of course you are going to spend more money but then if you do that then whats the point of comparing?
Why would you spend money to make the same product that's stupid, wouldn't it make more sense to make a more powerful system, I'd rather spend 1000$ than try to match a pro with used parts. 2nd most people don't know how to build pc's and you mess up a 200$ chip which is easily done your screwed .
Very good point, then at the end of the day you can always sell parts of the PC you went a little cheaper on at the time and upgrade to better components compared to buying a whole console.
At 7:40 we incorrectly wrote that the PS5 PRO has RDNA 2 Architecture when it actually has RDNA 3 Compute Units and RDNA 4 Ray Tracing Hardware (essentially RDNA 3.5). We've blurred the 2 but are keeping this comment pinned to reflect that.
@@TacticalCorn this video is unrealistic as not every one wants to spend on used components or have the luxury to get best used deals if you are not from US. I would suggest increasing the budget to$ 1000 and buying new components. The 1000$ machine will still a better buy than the pro.
@@inconspicuous45 Yeah, I'm thinking there were some Shenanigans with that GPU, New it goes for $480-$510, used (Perfect working condition) it's still selling for around $430.
10:20 Digital Foundry covered this in their Upscaling Face-off video between PSSR, DLSS and FSR. It seems to be an art asset issue in the game and DLSS/PSSR are the only two scalers that resolves the grass to a satisfactory degree
To me it looked more like one of those crappy AA variants like TAA which turn into blur when things are moving, but look just fine when the image is still (like in the menu)
@@ОсликИа-я2ы it's like the original comment said, it's an art asset issue. for SOME reason the game constantly thinks the grass has motion vectors applied to them, even though they're still. which results in the really really weird issue you see. I'm guessing it's fine in the pause menu because well... the game world is paused, so no motion vectors are applying to anything anymore. pssr and dlss can work around this and resolve this pretty well, but still not perfectly
I think people tend to forget that games are highly optimised for consoles while these days it feels like devs dont even bother with optimisation on the windows versions anymore
Yeah, even with a 4070ti on my pc, I can get stuttering on some games that is a pain in the butt where I don’t get anywhere near as much stuttering on PS5. PC gaming is just not in the greatest of places right now, which really sucks. I wish they would get that shit together.
None of the comments mentioning the shipping cost. NONE! I mean, you seriously want to pay cheap for parts on ebay but average $20 or more for EACH part for the shipping. Thats 100 more add on just for shipping cost.
@@eclipsygaming4890 PSN subscriptions don't cost anything. PS+ subscriptions cost extra, but also more than pay for themselves in free games and discounts. And yes, games on the PlayStation store are absolutely competitive with Steam pricing. I have crunched the numbers and I would literally spend more money in a year if I didn't buy the PS+ subscription just because the games I buy are cheaper with PS+. But that does depend on how many games you buy.
You just built almost the exact setup my buddy currently runs. Same motherboard, same cpu, same storage, heck even the same ram. the main difference is that he instead runs a 3050 and it is built out of a lan party case from like 2013 he pulled out of a dumpster.
Lan Party used to have the sweetest motherboards. Bright colors on the mainboard that popped. At the time when windowed cases were basically unheard of.
I got a 3080ti for less than $350 about 6 months ago and it has 10% better performance than a 7800xt, better RT, and DLSS which would have negated all the issues with the FSR comparisons they showcase in this video...
Damn, you get a lot of value in the PS5 pro. Who has the time to look for used parts one by one, if you end up with 1 bad part your screwed. And you gotta Hope all the other parts you bought were taken care of.
I'm a PC gamer, but I'm glad that Sony has been putting in the work on their upscaling engine. Good upscalers mean gaming hardware can last longer, which means fewer components in a landfill and more gamers can get their hands on working hardware.
I was happy to buy a PS5 Pro yesterday, the stock that arrived sold out in minutes, you can't even imagine how much it cost me in the official Sony store, I don't care, for me it's completely worth it, my Spiderman version PS5 is on sale now! 😅
Great video, but i have some nitpicks as daily PC, and PS5 player. This build is pretty good, and I actually am using something simillar rn, but: - if you're less tech savy, you'll need to pay somebody to build the PC for you, - I have PC with i5 12400F, and stock cooler is god awfully loud, while PS5/PS5 Pro makes close to no sound at all (I've tolerated it only a week before changing it to some tower style, local brand cooler.), - to be fair - if you're buying PC, coming from console/buying it as your first PC, then price should also include even the cheapest mouse and keyboard, cuz good luck with installing Windows without it, - DualSense Controller has mic and speaker built in, so you can easilly, even without headset, chat with your friends using Discord, - if this build right now matches the FPS performance of PS5, then I'm almost sure, that in the near future it will not, as console developers are more obliged to optimalise their games to pass the certification, and get allowance to sell their game on PS Store. BUT hey! on the other side: - PC games are cheaper, - BT on PS5 is virtually useless, as it can only be used to connect licensed headsets and controllers, - you'll save a buck, when it comes to online gaming, as paid PS5 online games, require active PS+ subscription
I would've loved to have seen an extra comparison with a DLSS card, just to see if that change/upgrade would change the overall conclusion or decision.
Without being super up to date with used prices, the performance for what they were testing would be better with a 4070, but it would also cost a bit more. Like I would personally get the 7800 XT and disable RT, but for this type of direct comparison (and for people who want to play with RT) the 4070 is a better choice.
@@DesFTW_ eh, the 7800XT is barely faster in raster but in RT the 4070 slaps it, 7800XT 6% faster in raster games that are actually worth turning on RT the 4070 is up to 27% or higher Then FSR is just worse than DLSS and to match image quality of DLSS If you have to use FSR Quality to get DLSS Balanced image quality both at output 4K You think the 6% raster is still going to be 6% rendering a higher internal resolution?
You can't compare texture "quality" when the two systems have entirely different HDR/color grading settings. If you can see pixels in one but not the other, sure, but when you're trying to judge sharpness for example, the one with the levels skewed darker is always going to look sharper.
One aspect that isn't covered is that if you already have a PC then the real PS5 killer could be a simple upgrade. Your existing components may be good enough already so you can just spend more on a GPU, and if you have a Ryzen CPU you could upgrade the CPU too without needing a new motherboard. The big advantage of PC is that you don't need to throw out everything when something new comes along and I'd be curious how much better the PC does when you factor in the savings when upgrading instead of buying a whole new rig.
No body throws anything when a new console comes out. Only PC gamers thinks like that... I still have my NES from when I was a child and it still works. I have a son now and he's discovering the first mario bros with me. Last week I replayed Chrono Trigger on my 3ds. You guys are so used to change everything all the time that your way of viewing things is flawed
@@gerarddossantos7564 I still have all my consoles going back to the original gameboy too (and most of my old PCs from the last 20 years which now serve other purposes like a NAS or family PC). What I meant is that games for the new consoles will typically only work on the new console so you have to buy the new console rather than using the old one. Whereas on PC you can just turn down settings in new games and they will still work on the old hardware so it isn't a strict need to get anything new to play the new games, it is just a matter of how well it will play.
@@AusSkiller You have to buy the new console but what's the problem is the console is cheap ? I played 10 years on PS4, 400 bucks. Most GPUs are most expensive than that. Ok granted, the PS5 pro is expensive, but the base PS5 is very capable and costs 400 bucks. And my old consoles are still there and working.
@@gerarddossantos7564 There isn't really a problem so to speak, the difference is that with PCs you have the option to go much cheaper or much more expensive compared to consoles, and you can just pick whichever suits you more. I'm sorry to be saying the same thing that a lot of people in the comments, but I just bought a WB black 1TB for my ps5 and it was with seasonal discounts 80 USD. And I went for that one since the 2TB version was almost around 159 with the biggest discounts, so the price placed at bellow 50 in the comparisons is not sitting well.
Are you talking new SSD? Every part in the video is used and I can currently find recently sold listings on ebay for ~$80 for the 2TB. We also found a 2TB 980 Pro for $30 and have the photo on the forum if you want to check it out.

Hey! Thats the same case I used for my first ever PC build back in 2020. It kept the 2080 super nice and cool (meaning it never went above 80c) without any air conditioner in the room even in Indian summers.
Honestly, with the level of in-depth tuning, I'd honestly would love to see a blind comparison of "non techy, yet gamery" staff (perhaps level of gamers/kind of gamers) where they do a blind test between 3 systems, PS5, PS5Pro, PS5ProKillerPC, Pro gaming PC, and perhaps for measure, if the titles "overlap", throw in an xbox as well. The tree/foilage stuff during gameplay, might blur out. Just give the blind testers the exact same controller (obv would not work on xbox), and tell them to NOT hit any menu/system buttons that would give away what the PC/TV is.
Blind comparison doesnt work. Anyone can guess the system because the smell. One system smell 3 year warranty brand new. The other one is a frankestein of hardware used at 1.5 meters of ppl watching and using dirty websites after gaming before going to bed.
Next time, pay a bit of premium so you can use DLSS. Its just so much better. And you'll get proper ray tracing performance. If you are going to check games this way side by side with those technologies on, you just cant go with amd imo
Cheapest used 7800xt on eBay is $460 buyout/shipping and even sold ones via bidding are all like $440, with a few slightly below. Idk where he’s getting these prices, definitely not “easy to find” for $350 as his chart suggests.

The 60 euro per year for online is senseless, especially when sometimes it has been defended to keep the servers up, but many games have their own servers for playing the game and Steam doesn't need 60 euro from you to run their servers, while having cheaper games.
U are bonkers I have 2 PC's one made 6 years ago that cost me 500 USD plus 150 USD CPU upgrade last year and it let's me play games at unlocked 100+ frames with better graphics at 1080p than any console, once I buy a new GPU in my more expensive PC I can put the old GPU in the sleeper build for free and kill the PS5
Uhh…you totally the missed half the point of this PC build vs the PS5 Pro. You should have tested in Baldur’s Gate town area and compared the difference. The Pro is still heavily CPU-bottlenecked just like the base version. I wanted to see how the 12400f handles that area. 😢
Look, I think the PC is the more cost effective platform, as long as you know what you're doing. The games end up being way cheaper, especially as they go down in price over time, whereas the console games tend not to go down in price very much at all, and the consoles also have those subscription fees for basic services, which are quite high. That being said, the PS5 is not heavily CPU bottlenecked in general, it just can be in some very specific parts of some games, so you're just cherry picking an edge case to support your claim. The CPU performance of the console is also not equivalent to a Zen 2 CPU on PC, because of significant differences in the architecture of the memory, and also because of other efficiencies related to the semi-custom design, and also to the much more developer friendly development environment and development tools, which result in generally much better optimized games. Of course, what PCs lack in optimization, they tend to be able to make up for in raw horsepower. Even the now two generations old 5700X3D is a monster of a CPU, which somehow manages to trade blows with Intel's latest flagship CPU built on a process node that's two generations newer (TSMC 3nm vs. 7nm), and a great upgrade option for people still on AM4.
@@syncmonism You lost me at your second paragraph as it’s basically all false. Cherry picking? There are way more games than Baldur’s Gate that can’t hold 60fps due to CPU constraints. You’re right that the CPU is not equivalent to a Zen 2 CPU on PC-it’s worse. It lacks the standard cache and clocks of desktop counterparts and has to share bandwidth with the GPU. No amount of “optimizations” can account for all that latency. You can’t keep clinging to old PS4 games re-released on PS5 to say “everything runs great” when they use old engines with limited CPU demands. Do yourself a favor and educate yourself with some Digital Foundry videos instead of making stuff up.
It's honestly a great time to be a gamer. Xbox, PlayStation, and PC all offer great value for a really good gaming experience. They all have pros and cons. Consoles biggest con is the subscriptions needed for online gaming. We shouldn't have to pay $ just to game chat and be able to team up with others. PCs biggest con is setup and choice. It's not plug and play. You have to choose parts and then you have to set things up. Not just hardware if you're building but the software side of things. Setting up windows and then installing drivers and then setting up game settings. It's not for everyone. I would like to see a video like this one but for all the price points. MSRP of $300 for Xbox Series S, $450-$500 for PS5/Series X, and $700 for PS5 Pro. Factor in the cost of all the subscriptions needed for online play for 3 years on console ($180 for Xbox Core and $240 for PS Essential) and build a PC at those price point but add an extra $180 to $240 to the budget because the subscriptions aren't needed on PC. Series S I like would still be a killer value for gaming but not so much the others.
I’d also add physicals. I can buy cheaply and sell for the same price or more. I can borrow and lend from friends, rent from the library. I even like having my own collection on my shelf. I also think console gaming is great for couch coop with family and friends in the living room. Switch in particular has a wide range of games that 4 players can play. PC evangelists forget, deny, or choose to ignore that some still prefer these things. PC convenience may have greatly improved, and a digital subscription future draws nearer, but these are still valid reasons to have a console.
@ yes. There is a long list of pros and cons for both pc and console. Unfortunately I don’t think physical media or couch coop is make or break for a ton of people. Companies know this and that’s why physical media is dying a slow death and couch coop is hard to find. And those things have been mentioned in LTT videos before
@@makasete30 I also want to add that I'm not saying PC is better or console is better. They both offer a great gaming experience. I have a Series S, PS5 disc version, and a gaming PC. All 3 are great and it's a very good time to be a gamer
For sure we honestly have hardware so good, most games don't even need it. I haven't even seen a need to upgrade my PC since 2020 and am still vibing. I am jealous of the convenience factor of consoles though, I always appreciate just going to retail to pick up a switch game even if the specs are way lower and no configuration is necessary and I can sell or trade my physical games. Switch online is a real shame though imo I haven't used it since 2020 though I just play PC games online instead.
Really should have used only new parts and itx form factor for a clean comparison. If you are going for used parts, might as well compare the same budget on used PS5 pro down the line ($500-600). You're also overbudget if you include a dualsense controller. Also note that "easy to find" price seems to be a straight up lie, even on used in my area.
Just like selling your old PS5, you can also sell your old graphics card. For most people, all you need is a GPU upgrade, even a 6 or 7 year old i7 will be perfectly sufficient. Buy a 4060Ti or any other AMD equivalent and call it a day.
The worst advice I've ever seen in my life. A 128bit 8gb card is going to last no where near as long as the 16gb vram ps5 pro. Unless you don't care about 720p or below base renders. As for using a 7 year old cpu... Go and compare i3 12100 versus i9 9900k and be suprised at what you see. You aren't going to be crossing 50fps on a 8700k anymore. Get a ryzen 7500 or atleast i5 13400.

I'd like if you made the "insert console killer name" and make 2 builds. One budget build that could match the specs for a lower price. But then another build for the exact price of the console. To show if you spent that same money , how much you could smoke the graphics then. I still love both my PS5 and PC. I just recognize that the PC has more horsepower in MOST cases.
I'm getting little pissed at the constant PlayStation 5 negativity, watched the xbox version and it's clear you are pro xbox You failed to factor in the shipping costs, the controller and you used a mouse and keyboard which is also not in the price, no warranty, CPU cooler and thermal paste and of course the risk of getting dead parts Clearly it would cost more for a PC and the ps5 pro is cheaper despite it being quick high itself, getting a ps5 base is much better but your so against the playstation it's getting annoying
Exactly people like him like to use used parts and don't include all the other things needed to use the PC on purpose because they know that adds on top of the already expensive PC price to try and make the PC look like it's a better value for the same price as consoles when it's not 💯
@FirewynnTV $700 for whole pc, including mouse keyboard, cables and disk drive? Also Iin the US (according to google) the ps5 costs $499 or $399 for distress version The PS5 is still better value
In Ratchet and Clank - Rift Apart, XeSS could be enabled and the quality would be better + you have the option to enable frame generation, which significantly increases the priority of the PC platform. So why are you testing mostly Sony exclusives? Where is Alan Wake 2, Silent Hill 2 remake?
If any of these used parts are faulty, troubleshooting the issue will be a nightmare and will cost time and money. Even if the price is the same, the cost is much higher. I know it’s for fun but it shows that a PC with the same new parts and performance would cost quite a bit more. Of course, you could use a 5700x3D and get massive CPU improvements. It’s a shame they didn’t include the drive in the price of the PS5 Pro and perhaps a slight CPU improvement but power was obviously an issue.
My only take way from this is that upgrading to a HDR display for gaming on PC isn't gonna matter much for me. OLED, sure. But looks like I'll be wanting higher refresh rates over brighter colours.
8:07 So this is exactly what I was afraid of. You already lost me at this point if you're trying to match the fidelity. I'm no fanboy, I mostly play PC, but I own PS5, Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, Steam Deck, and Switch, so I have zero brand loyalty because I'm an actual rational human. But going with a card that can only do FSR upscaling is just an immediate loss in the matching fidelity goal. So many people look at still images to judge upscalers, but its in motion that FSR's failure is most obvious, and the smeary dithered ghosting like effect is just awful to my eyes. PSSR has been shown to resolve these details in motion much more like DLSS 2 and above, and its a huge difference if you understand what you're looking at. My main PC is running a 4090, and I run DLSS quality whenever its available, most my experience with FSR is when its the only option in PC games, or on PS5, and its night and day once you understand where it falls apart in motion clarity.

I mainly like consoles because of the vast difference in hdr vs on pc . I like the color pop and because I'm so used to it no matter what pc game I look at it looks like the color has been sucked right out of it . Hdr on console is just simply better . There is not even an argument for it . Pssr is also new which means it will continually improve. All in all while expensive and not all that worth it if you own a ps5 . The ps5 pro gives pc a run for its money for the same price and even has a slight edge considering you have to buy used parts to even step in the ring with it . People forget very quick the more powerful we ask consoles to be that price tag is going to increase alongside that request and rightfully so when you see its pc equivalent prices/performance.

This video actually made Ps5 pro look like a bargain. Worse cpu, worse gpu, worse controller, huge ugly box, much bigger powerdraw, worse wifi, most likely not silent, no warranty, no system warranty, used parts. PC builders just can't shut up, ever. Every single desktop computer in existence to them has to be subject to comparison so they can feed their ego. Windows HDR should always be calibrated using their Windows HDR Calibration tool from the MS Store. Just as Sony expects you configure your screen before you can enable HDR, you should do the same under Windows.
I have many complaints about this comparison. 1 - at the end you say not anybody has a couple hundreds to spare. While I agree with the statement, I completely disagree about the piece you are talking about. The pro is the fancy machine. you can get the base for $380. If you going to play the money issue card, get the base model. 2 - Settings on consoles are lower than PC. You can clearly see In ratchet that RT is NOT applied in rough surfaces on the PS5, while it is on PC. It is NOT an apples to apples comparison. 3 - You guys should've talked about upscaling quality level. I kinda got it that on Dragonage, you are not running FSR as low as PSSR. While yeah, PSSR might give a better result, the rendering resolution is different. 4 - You didn't test performance mode. PS5 games are usually CPU limited, which means that the 120Hz mode and sometime 60Hz mode are kinda lacking. With the PC on a 12400F, you can easily run stuff at 120fps. Now to a more general public complaint. A PC is basically a forever box. You don't need to throw away your current one and buy a completely new one. For most, the price of the PS5 killer PC is just the GPU, not the whole system. PC gamers don't lose all their library because a new gen came out. I can play PS3 games. Can a PS5 play PS3 games? I had a dual sense and that controller is trash. The 8bitdo is cheaper and much better. PC is all about choices and you are not locked like a console
You guys didnt factor in the price of the controller..... i believe when you buy a ps5 pro you get a controller, please correct me if im wrong, not unless in the us controllers are not included

Talk to my family via video call on one Monitor and carry on with work on the other (its how I keep in touch with my mom). Nothing beats the speed of a PC
That doesn't make any sense because console's use the same hardware as PC's. It started with the original Xbox in 2001 and PS4 in 2013. 3ds and switch use ARM.

It just comes out to your budget. Do you have a 4k TV? do you already have a PC? Most people dont have desktops but Laptops, so they do have a pc that can do any normal activity like browsing the web and video calls. So their choice is to gets ANOTHER PC or get a console. Also most people when buying electronics dont like buying used, so its like this: 1- Get a Gaming PC for 1000€, but they already have a laptop so you only get Gaming as a bonus. You also have a monitor that is way worse than your TV and your speakers are NOTHING like the ones in your Living room for the Cinema... so in reality you will be spending a lot more to get a better Monitor and speakers and Keyboard and Mouse and Mousepad. 2- Get a PS5 Pro for ~800€ and hook it to the Big 4k HDR TV with way better sound equipment than the PC speakers, you get to play awesome ps exclusives AND still have your laptop to do anything you need a PC for aside from gaming. 3- For 1100€ you can buy the new M4 Mac Mini 600€ AND a PS5 for 500€ and have the best of both worlds. But then again you have to get a monitor keyboard etc. All of this depends on what you already have, and considering most people have good modern 4k TVs... a console is way better value than having to buy a new good monitor that is at least 500€ as anything below that will be substantially worse than your TV. If you have a good job you can just literally have both a gaming PC setup and a PS5 Pro... If you cant have the two I would just put gaming on a second plane and focus in your career/studies. Having a better job will also mean you get to buy a better car/bike and much other things.

I think the biggest advantage to PC is the modularity. Especially when it's time to repair or upgrade. You're not exactly going to throw in some more/faster memory or swap out a CPU or GPU in the PS5 Pro to boost performance down the line when budget allows.
Consoles depreciate less and are easier to upgrade. Also none of the headaches with trying to match compatible parts or whether your new CPU will bottleneck your new GPU or anything of that sort.

In my country (Turkey) the price of the ps5 pro is 50.000 Turkish liras which equals = 1.456 usd. With that money you can buy a 32gb 7500f 4070ti super build. So it may be a better option in U.S but there is literally no reason to buy that in Turkey.
I think the problem in your country is import fees. Nations like that get less consoles so they (resellers) usually bump up the prices. But thats not Sony's fault. Pretty sure its the same thing with other products in your nation like Im sure an Iphone in your country is more expensive then what it usually costs
You left one thing out: most people are still using a 1080p max 60hz TV. Not a monitor capable of much higher refersh rates in order to fully appreciate the extra frames. If you factor in a monitor which can utilise the hardware fully then you are over budget. Most people already have a TV. Not everyone has a monitor. Then there are other factors like the used components (as you mentioned) and the power draw which impacts the electricity bill. If you're paying, even a few dollars extra per month for your electricity by going with PC, it counts toward the total cost. The PS5 also comes with a controller. Althogh it's a small cost, it's still extra when coupled with the requirement of a mouse and keyboard.
@Spetsnazty Games aren't always cheaper . On console you can resell or buy used Games or rent if you want to rely on gamefly. That often offset any savings you get on pc.

So buying all used parts, at great prices…coming out to $655 “, self built, and still not being able to beat the Pro. Where are all the PC gamers talking shit about the price again? Just build your own! You can get a better deal! Better performance!
The leap from the price of the 5 with disk to 5 pro and buying disk. It just doesn’t make sense to me. For the return. To each his own. I’ll keep PS5 for 4K blu ray and some titles. Then I have 5120x1440 on PC for everything else. Which is a lot…
@ it just all depends. The framerate and graphics boosts makes it worth it to me. Dragon’s Dogma being able to run at a near locked 60 fps and FF7 Rebirth being able to run the graphics mode at 60 fps are huge upgrades. Devs haven’t had the time to optimize yet either. Imagine what Wolverine is going to look like on the Pro. And if GTA 6 can run at near 60 fps compared to the base, again, this is worth it to me because I use my PS5 daily and will be using the Pro for the next 4 years until the PS6.
9:24 - FSR dissocclusion fizzel yet again kills the day. Unless AMD comes out with a DLSS equivalent, they're disqualified for a PS5 Pro killer. You have to go with something using DLSS or XeSS with XMX.
Even with the FSR shortcomings, a decent PC is still a PS5 Pro killer. The benefits of a PC outweigh anything a console has to offer, and it's not even close.
That issue is that game specific. Still find it odd to test all ray tracing title games after saying would pick RTX if mattered. Most games ray tracing doesn't really add anything, there are only a handful of titles where it is better, so for most not worth it, but do agree can be for some that specifically only play those games for it (which I would assume is rare).
@@TooBokoo How is the PC in the video a "PS5 Killer". You get similar performance, or worse in some games, for a similar price? If it were to "kill" the PS5 Pro it would have to be noticeably faster with way better graphical fidelity.
I like the idea behind this, but honestly, who needs the headache of making a sub par PC. Just buy the damn PS5 pro, and enjoy gaming. I don't wanna spend ages trying to make the damn thing, I want to play games!..
Ps5 pro over the pc for the same price is still a better deal. Even though they were able to get the pc to work and show that it can run there were a lot of performance issues and trade offs just say it’s almost the same. I enjoy quality and performance but there was way too many compromises and adjustments being made for every game to say you’ll have a better experience while settling for less even if you personally feel that it’s not a big enough difference. I would hate to build a budget friendly pc and fight with the graphics settings just to get the game to run with good performance at the cost of quality.
It still also counts down to the individual. The online gameplay fees, as mentioned and discarded for the sake of this video are absolutely part of what I'd have to consider. And depending on existing library and exclusives can shift the calculation either way. IMO, the major takeaway is that you could conceivable take either path and be happy with it. And that's a good thing.
Funny enough, the PS5 Pro in South Africa costs R19500 or $1067, and you can actually build a PC with new parts like a Ryzen 3700X and RX 7700 XT here in South Africa, and It'll be faster than the PS5 pro
The price LTT is comparing to is without sales tax, $699 * 1.15 (VAT) = $803 which is around R15000. Do note that Sony does not have representation in South Africa, unlike most other regions, they're basically all imported instead of usual buy from manufacturer at a lower price. That said, there's a good chance the R19500 is them seeing who will buy within the first week, and then can say sale for black Friday.
@@Masterrunescapeer Shalom! Naw that is the price here unfortunately. Import taxes knock us quite a bit. Doing a Direct price, we should be getting it for R12kish or around there. small note. no talk of the cost of the OS on PC... for those that *ahem* don't already own one. Also, the convenience of a console vs building and maintaining a PC shouldn't be understated. a large portion of gamers simply don't have the time or interest to learn the nuances of a PC. Personally, I'm in IT and working with PCs seems simple and straightforward. this definitely isn't the case for a very large portion of the gamer market. some people just want to turn something on and play without concern. these are both great options. maybe we stop arguing over which is 'best', and acknowledge that each has its place based on the user. to the creators, thanks for the great video, an excellent and worthy experiment, and one I was definitely curious about!
It really doesn't matter if the PC looks similar as it's only the PS5 Pro that you can easily hook up to a TV and relax on a couch or big comfy chair to play games. Some people do not want to solely play PC games bound to a desk that they often already work at all day. I say this as a PC gamer.
Who are you arguing against? No one said that the PC build here can replace a console, it's literally a video about whether you can match a console performance wise within the same budget.
I’m soooo happy to see that 12400f being used. I picked one up brand new here in the UK for £95 brand new to put in my sons’ PC and in gaming, it’s less than 10% behind my 12900k, which cost £590. That i5 is the ultimate budget gaming chip.

Great video, but i have some nitpicks as daily PC, and PS5 player.
This build is pretty good, and I actually am using something simillar rn, but:
- if you're less tech savy, you'll need to pay somebody to build the PC for you,
- I have PC with i5 12400F, and stock cooler is god awfully loud, while PS5/PS5 Pro makes close to no sound at all
(I've tolerated it only a week before changing it to some tower style, local brand cooler.),
- to be fair - if you're buying PC, coming from console/buying it as your first PC,
then price should also include even the cheapest mouse and keyboard, cuz good luck with installing Windows without it,
- DualSense Controller has mic and speaker built in, so you can easilly, even without headset, chat with your friends using Discord,
- if this build right now matches the FPS performance of PS5, then I'm almost sure, that in the near future it will not, as console developers are more obliged to optimalise their games to pass the certification, and get allowance to sell their game on PS Store.
BUT hey!
on the other side:
- PC games are cheaper,
- BT on PS5 is virtually useless, as it can only be used to connect licensed headsets and controllers,
- you'll save a buck, when it comes to online gaming, as paid PS5 online games, require active PS+ subscription

And I went for that one since the 2TB version was almost around 159 with the biggest discounts, so the price placed at bellow 50 in the comparisons is not sitting well.

I second this idea!
Blind comparison doesnt work. Anyone can guess the system because the smell. One system smell 3 year warranty brand new. The other one is a frankestein of hardware used at 1.5 meters of ppl watching and using dirty websites after gaming before going to bed.

@@geekosa63 Also for a while Sony has not been making much profit with the consoles, but selling PS Plus and having more pricier games.
At least my pc can be a working station to earn some money, unlike ps
@@syncmonism the ps5 has basically a 3600 for gaming. its not fast and is a problem for a lot of current games, especially eu5 ones
How many games actually hit the cpu like Balder's gate though lol

Why not let the game auto-detect the best settings for your game on pc?
Really should have used only new parts and itx form factor for a clean comparison. If you are going for used parts, might as well compare the same budget on used PS5 pro down the line ($500-600).

It just comes out to your budget. Do you have a 4k TV? do you already have a PC?
Most people dont have desktops but Laptops, so they do have a pc that can do any normal activity like browsing the web and video calls. So their choice is to gets ANOTHER PC or get a console.
Also most people when buying electronics dont like buying used, so its like this:
1- Get a Gaming PC for 1000€, but they already have a laptop so you only get Gaming as a bonus.
Having a better job will also mean you get to buy a better car/bike and much other things.

the segues throughout this video were insanely smooth lmfao. loved every second of em
I think the biggest advantage to PC is the modularity. Especially when it's time to repair or upgrade. You're not exactly going to throw in some more/faster memory or swap out a CPU or GPU in the PS5 Pro to boost performance down the line when budget allows.
PS5 is way more repairable.
Consoles are all the same and easy to repair for the exact parts at low price.
Consoles depreciate less and are easier to upgrade. Also none of the headaches with trying to match compatible parts or whether your new CPU will bottleneck your new GPU or anything of that sort.
@@agus.lorenzo way more repairable? Ever try to add ram to a PlayStation? Vrm failure? Replace the main board, cpu, and gpu. Gpu failure? Replace the main board, cpu, and gpu. Network connection failure? Replace the main board, cpu, and gpu. Upgrade ram? Nope, upgrade gpu? Nope. Upgrade CPU? Nope. Oh but you can add a specific ssd for increased storage…
@@RandomGamingMoments925 easier to upgrade because you replace the entire console? Ever try a cpu upgrade on a ps5?
Althogh it's a small cost, it's still extra when coupled with the requirement of a mouse and keyboard.
you can use a TV as a monitor.
All of that is offset by being upgradable, cheaper games, free play, wider catalogue, more than gaming.
@Spetsnazty Games aren't always cheaper . On console you can resell or buy used Games or rent if you want to rely on gamefly. That often offset any savings you get on pc.
*You* might be using a crappy 1080p 60hz TV but that doesn't mean "most people" that own a PS5 do
4K TVs cost less than $300 these days if you don't care about it being the best TV in the universe
@@bray2079 Idk if you know this, but on of your repack games for free, I don’t suggest you do it but even latest games are available for free if you go through piracy.
I am the Co-conspirator being referenced at the start of the video (and the reason for this video and the trolling references too) since I'm the one that originally murdered the PS5 Pro with all new parts, not Linus. Way to go for not giving the OG Murderer the credit Linus!!!
"not able to beat the pro" sure is a funny statement
@@TooBokoo The headaches of a PC also, unfortunately, outweigh those of a console.
@@ArcticFox63 use game on PS5 pro who use cpu like BG3 and you get same crap performans like PS5
I like the idea behind this, but honestly, who needs the headache of making a sub par PC.
Just buy the damn PS5 pro, and enjoy gaming. I don't wanna spend ages trying to make the damn thing, I want to play games!..
2 or 3 hours tops. And to save potentially hundreds in online fees!
Also in a much smaller form factor
Ps5 pro over the pc for the same price is still a better deal. Even though they were able to get the pc to work and show that it can run there were a lot of performance issues and trade offs just say it’s almost the same. I enjoy quality and performance but there was way too many compromises and adjustments being made for every game to say you’ll have a better experience while settling for less even if you personally feel that it’s not a big enough difference. I would hate to build a budget friendly pc and fight with the graphics settings just to get the game to run with good performance at the cost of quality.
@@juanmontanez6811 XD
It still also counts down to the individual. The online gameplay fees, as mentioned and discarded for the sake of this video are absolutely part of what I'd have to consider. And depending on existing library and exclusives can shift the calculation either way.
IMO, the major takeaway is that you could conceivable take either path and be happy with it. And that's a good thing.
ignoring shipping and calling that a $40 mobo was quite the shortcut
My favorite argument for pc over console is "you can stream and edit video." 2 things i have never and will do after having a PC for nearly 30 years
Yeah, Console haters are delusional. And I’m a filmmaker and video editor, and most of us prefer Apple Mac Studio for video editing.
But alas tis R19499. The cheapest Slim you can get is about 10999. Device launches here on the 13th Dec, pre-orders went live about 2 weeks back.
dude they literally had the PC here with a 7800xt just match and in some cases LOSE to the ps5 pro? How would a 7700xt be faster?

@@glenmcl No it clearly says Terron, not Yvonne.
small note. no talk of the cost of the OS on PC... for those that *ahem* don't already own one.
6:38 why are they all shipping from Lithuania? Is there some sort of sale here that I'm missing?
@@PawlysBartys what's funny is that i don't see any of these kind of listings here.

You do know a pc can be hooked to a tv, right!?
Look at linus trying to justify his second hand pc almost is as good as the pro. You never killed it dude and came know where near lol
I’m soooo happy to see that 12400f being used. I picked one up brand new here in the UK for £95 brand new to put in my sons’ PC and in gaming, it’s less than 10% behind my 12900k, which cost £590. That i5 is the ultimate budget gaming chip.
19:29 i think it's quite the opposite.the ps5 pro killed the pc .
So are they counting the set up ? Desk , chair , Screen ? Probably speakers or headphones? Cause i don't need any additional set up for my console, besides the already there at home TV and sofa .
you can plug the pc to the tv and use that, add 20$ for a keyboard+touchpad combo and functionally its the same
For example they are not adding yearly cost of online on console either

Regardless of the outcome of this video, I think for the viewer's sake they should have recorded the video in 60fps, just so WE could see the real world difference. When you're showcasing what 60fps is doing and the video is shot at 30fps, then it's kind of silly for us to see what you're referencing in terms of frame rate performance 😂
