I’ve had my astro A10 for 3 years & it was amazing, rn the mic doesn’t work anymore & the rubber off the ear buds had to get glued about 3 times 😂😂 but moral of the story it’s the best cheap option for & headset !
You buying 3 instead of learning how to fix it is exactly why these companies get away with this shit. It's not as hard as you'd think just look up a guide.
The keypad sucks. Doesn't properly work 80% the time. Either doesn't recognize the keys being pressed or posts the letter a dozen times with a single press. Also just loses connection randomly and takes 60-180 seconds to reconnect. Looks and feels good tho.
Love the logo underlay sticker. I too have the classic logo but the one I bought also came with one for the PS logo on the controller as well. Nice touch.
Just bought the charging dock it’s amazing just coming home from school and picking up a fully charged controller and then when it runs out I can just pick up another fully charged controller thank you so much for making this video
My personal favourite pics: Plates (vented): If you get new plates for your PS5, go for a pair that has a vent for where the fan is located. This will help with cooling & dust. Some are cheap at around £16, but I got a good one at £27. My plates are a 1:1 size, and don't stick out like plates usually do, so my consoke looks much more neat. Like, the top/front of the plates are curved, like the console is. USB extraction fans: These are cheap, and great for what they do. They are a row of about 3 small fans, and they are in a plastic cage, in a row, with a USB on the back at the bottom. You can slot it onto the back of the PS5. I have one and it works really well, the fans are very fast and it legit cools it down (I checked with thermometer inside the console before and after). It isn't super loud, but it is louder than the PS5. You likely won't hear it if your TV is loud enough/you use headphones. If you often leave it on, try to look for one that has 3 options for the RPM of the fans, they only cost a couple of £ more. (Don't worry about it taking up a USB spot on the back, it has one on the front that takes place of the one it sticks into, allowing you to still use it.) Also great for extracting dust as well as heat. If paired with plates that have vents, they'll be very effective at keeping it cool. Cooling tray (PS5 or laptop): If your PS5 is kept stood up, you'll want a PS5 cooling tray, they're easily found. If you keep it on its side like me, get a large laptop cooling tray to place it on, and, try to get a plate cover with a vent on both sides, this would help further with cooling, but isn't absolutely necessary, the tray will still help either way. If you tripke up with a tray, vented plates, and extraction fans, your console is pretty much guaranteed to last longer, not het anywhere as hot, and just have less problems in general. LED color sticker: The blue lights on your PS5 can be changed. There are these stickers that exist, that you place along the outer curved edge of your PS5, when the plates are off. They diffuse the light and make it a different color. They're great if you have black plates and want red LEDs to match. Sometimes, you may love certain plates, but think they dont go with blue... These help with that! These are not as practical as the rest, however, many may need them if they find ideal plates but think blue wouldn't match (plus, they're very cheap). Bluetooth USB transceiver for headphones: These allow you to use any headphones with your PS5. However, it took me a while to find the one I got, you have to look hard and make sure to get the right one. You get a USB adapter that goes in the front of the console, and an aux adapter that goes in the pad. The USB links to the pad, and sends a signal to the aux, which is also Bluetooth. You connect your headphones to the USB, which bounce the signal to the adapter that is in the aux. I aren't actually sure how it fulky works, but that's the gist, and it is a good way to get round not being able to use third oart headphones. Other than the sticker, these are my favourite accessories, as they are very practical. They can all easily be found for cheap on AliExpress, or eBay (apart from the transceiver, took me about 30 mins to find one). I highly recommend the three used to cool the console. I believe my console dropped by around 6-7⁰C, which is very good for a console.
I have lived through quite a few console releases and I gotta say that every time there is a new console released somebody releases an auxiliary cooling fan kit to market. (usually some cheap Chinese company) Those are not necessary and could even hinder the airflow. I have my PS5 in an IKEA TV stand (basically a low bookshelf) with a solid back. Now, this is TERRIBLE for cooling... despite the open front.. the back is where the heat is exhausted. I resolved this by cutting a hole and installing USB powered 180mm exhaust fan. So when PS5 comes on... the air is pulled out of the cubby and the PS5 stays cool. Now THAT works. Alternatively, you could get a USB powered fan that is freestanding from microcenter and direct its flow to move the heat away from the PS5 intakes. It is when the PS5 starts sucking in the hot air it just produced that causes it's temperature to rise and rise until failure. It is great that the USB ports come on when PS5 is powered on... my Xbox one X however has full power to the USB port at all times... and required that I get one of those energy saver power strips that turn on the other outlets when it detects that you are pulling power from the master outlet.
I wouldnt say the boss fights in ffxvi were all that intense. The only time i had difficulty was the 2nd Barnabas fight in final fantasy mode. Took me a minute to pick up on his pattern. But i finally got him after the fourth or fifth attempt with a potion to spare. Then again i didnt bother with ultimaniac. I could see some or thr fights getting intense there.
I got that Nacon wired controller a year ago as my primary use on PS4, the build quality was solid but it has some major issues that I get to know after using it. 1. I use L1/R1 for ADS/Shoot in CoD and these buttons on this controller are weird, they only register the presses in the middle of the buttons. If you press slightly towards the edge (as I use to do) it will not work hence I died a lot bcoz the gun doesn't shoot or ads. 2. After using it for two weeks everyday for at least 2 hrs/day it developed a serious stick drift in right stick to the point it became unusable. (Also the diameter of the sticks are way too small, seems like it made for kids hands) 3. Horrible customer support. After it developed the drift I contacted customer care hoping for a replacement as it was still under warranty. They clearly told me that they don't accept any replacement request in my country. This is not mentioned anywhere on the product page on Amazon. So I wasted my $30, I should have gone for OG DS4 for $40 instead. I do not recommend this controller to anyone.
CHEAP PS5 Nice vid, as always, Chris. Spookily, I bought those faceplates only a week or two ago and had no issues fitting them; it was getting the original ones off that I found problematic! I use those rubber skins on my Dualsense(s) also - helps massively with hand sweat and they look nice, to boot. Can be had for about 3 or 4 quid off some eBay shops. Headset-wise, I'm using the Steelseries Arctis Nova 1 right now (£40 in an Amazon sale), which is hands down the most comfortable headset I've ever used. Never seen the point in charging docks, headset stands or cooling fans tbh. That all-in-one unit looks a bit naff imho and the PS5 looks a bit wobbly on it 😂
SpawnPoiint I've got a question for you man since you seem to know everything about the PlayStation5. So, is leaving your PS5 vertical bad for the console or not? I've read many articles about this topic and some say it does yet others say it doesn't so I'm a little confused. I've placed it horizontal now but it's taking up way too much space on my desk so I want to place it vertical but not if this damages the console over time.
From what I've read and seen, it entirely depends on how much the PS5 is handled. If you constantly have it being moved from let's say, room from room, it has a very small chance of popping the seal of the liquid metal chamber and causing a leak. I wouldn't worry about it much if you keep the PS5 in one spot for most of the time. Though I'm pretty sure a drop has a higher chance of popping that same seal.
Cheap PS5. I got a dust cover for my PS4 a while back and I loved it. Also picked up one for my girlfriends switch aunt you can see how much dust it prevented on the cover…looked like a little dust bunny. After I wiped it off.
Just an add-on that I'd discovered about a year or so ago; you can play PS5 games with any controller on Remote Play (device outside of your PS5 console). I keep my PS4 controller with my PC when I want to play games in the other room; and just let my PS5 controller charge by the console.
