    The footage is in the campaing, the players are constantly moving around with a considerable high move speed, not to mention the moving while attacking and many abilities that help you traverse terrain. And people are still complaining that the game is "slow", at this point it's just NPC behavior, just look at the screen?!

      Looking at people with white gear in Act 1 and saying 'wow, damage seems bad ...' like yeah?? Do they think it's T17 speed clearing? People are just being ignorant.

      yeah especially if you compare the very early gameplay, characters in poe2 seem way more powerful even at level 5 with many usable skill options already

    i didn't even realize this would have couch co-op, now i can finally drag my boyfriend into this and ruin his life. this looks so goddamned fun, i know some people in the community hate video games with combat that's any more than a glorified dps race but personally i'm very excited about how the boss fights are actually good now

      Not only is it couch-coop, but your account is going to be available on all platforms, so you can go from playing solo on the PC to playing coop at a friends place on console.

      To compensate, there seems to be more support gem variety. For example, in the video, you can see my Flame Wall is a circle -- that was a support gem.

      From what i've seen in players gameplay there is no longer big ass penalties to damage, like chain and Lmp have no damage reductions - or its just my imagination? Maybe this limitation is the reason? Limited to one per char = Stronger versions.
      (Last time we saw Gmp with something like 65%+ less damage)

      @@Hateful_Bug Some of the support gems do have damage penalties, but you need to use the button to highlight and explain things. Chain had 50% less damage, LMP had 35% less. Octavian pointed out that LMP reduced the poison DPS, so I probably shouldn't use it. Chain didn't seem to (or at least, it was totally compensated for by Vine Arrow.)
      None of those numbers are final, and they may decide to do as you say, but it seems there are very few "this skill does more damage" support gems, and more "this skill does something different" support gems. There's a dedicated support gem for making Flame Wall a circle, for example.

    I know some people are trying to hate on the game, but can we take a moment to appreciate the clutch boss kill at the end. For me, if a game can make me and my friends adrenaline pump with a cool ass boss battle while we combo skills, then idk if I’ll be playing many other games. If you don’t like PoE2, then look for new released PoE seasons that will come out. If you like legacy, then stay legacy. Things are changing for the better (for what I enjoy) and I am super excited.

    As someone who almost always plays with one friend, this got me rather damn hyped as far as the coop skills and revives. Typically we play through the campaign and then split up once we hit maps since the experience is thoroughly miserable, though perhaps the claim of more meaty enemies and skills like these will help.
    But then a few minutes after watching I reminded myself that this is the same company that feels like they balance their entire loot system around four player parties. Now they're just going to balance literally the entire game around it.
    Sure, you can get a squire drop solo. It's just going to take you 30x as long as a four person group would.
    Sure, you can kill Uber solo, it's just going to take you 10x the total gear budget of that entire four person team that just breezed through it.
    Alternative 1 is that coop gets balanced around actually requiring a lot of these coop skills, but that sounds rather less likely given their track record.
    Alternative 2 is that these skills just end up having their damage balanced to assume a 4 person party and are trash when solo, but given so much emphasis on stuff like vine arrow and how cool it is in their solo playthroughs that doesn't seem likely either. Would also just be sad to have less options for solo play.
    Alternative 3 is that these scale based on the number of players in the zone, but then if you're casting your vine arrow and people can't poison it, or people don't want to hit your bell, that's massively nerfing the damage of those skills and making them less, or just flat out not, worth using in party play.
    Alternative 4 is that the skills just... don't do a lot of damage to begin with, and 4x'ing the damage leaves it still so low compared to the rest of the party damage that it's negligibly. Even if you stack 8 or 12 or whatever of these coop abilities in a team. But having skills that do such negligible damage isn't fun either.
    No way of balancing this that I can think of sounds like it would really work well across the board, and I would be surprised if it isn't solos or duos that are the ones on the sacrificial altar suffering for the glory of others. Feels like it's just going to make it significantly easier to min-max stack groups in a way that leaves everyone in the dust and further divide the game into those that are playing the "right" way and everyone else who isn't.
    Though on a separate note... any way to get the bell gongs to apply poison to the vine arrow plants? Poison support or something of the like?

    I've been dancing around PoE and PoE 2 lately, so this is a very welcome surprise.
    I don't actually understand the complaints right now. I haven't played PoE in over two years, admittedly, because of technical problems. And I didn't find a poison build that excited me two weeks or so ago. But this looks so much more interactive than what I still know. In the early game. You know. The time period where you are stricken by intense boredom when you've been speed clearing T17s two days ago. So even if this is "slower," combat is much more involved and I'm looking forward to it.
    But here're the two important questions I have about PoE 2: Did you (all who were there) get to play with the shapeshifting skills? How were they?
    I could ask many more technical questions, but I'll keep those for playing myself.

    with that ability where you leap backwards and fire a spray of arrows in front of you, it got me thinking how badass and cool it would feel if you could vertically dodge damage events that pulse along the floor by jumping over them (like the act 1 boss' ice nova or the engineer's flamethrower attack)

    Its so cool! one small complain though is the sound of the bell gets overpowered by the crossbow once it hits is too fast.

      I imagine the bell isn't particularly loud, so that it doesn't blast out your eardrums when you hit it 100 times per second.
      That being said, the crossbow is definitely loud, by design.

    Thanks for posting this. I always wish you had more content here. One thing I noticed that looks like a great QoL is showing the controller key binds under your skills. Looks great. I noticed you used mainly the same skills throughout the entire playthrough. Did you try out other skills?

      делают для массовой аудитории,я думаю вначале (первые часов 50 игры) будут относится к игроку как к дурачку,а потом сложность в освоении билдов будет пропорционально расти от времени в игре и тут мы вспоминаем какой комплексный (в хорошем и плохом смысле ) является оригинал и делаем вывод что это игра на десятилетия если отнестись с правильным подходом .Кстати диабло 4 фаны сосать (без негатива)

    My two "concerns" with PoE 2 based on this video:
    - 11:21 -> "Only one copy of each support gem is allowed to be used across all skills." will be really interesting to tinker with, and I hope it's not going to feel limiting with utility skills. Probably not really a concern at all, but I can't say much until I play it myself
    - Probably rip my relatively low budget specs (12100F and a second-hand GTX 1650)
    I hope we're getting more class reveals sometime soon (I'm especially looking forward to the trapper and crossbow skills showcases) and how ascendancy is going to work. Feeling very, very good about PoE 2 being a truly awesome game especially in maps or whatever-endgame-it-will-have is called if they can implement many PoE 1 leagues with some additional randomization and/or customization options. I love that kind of shit.

    Can you explain some more about the "Only one copy of each support get is allowed to be used across all skills." part? Like you're only able to use something like Faster Attacks on a single skill across all of your skills? Or does that mean you'd need to have multiple "copies" of Faster Attacks to use on multiple skills?

      If you have Faster Attacks support socketed into one attack, then try to socket a second one into a different attack, it will not let you.

    Looks good - UI need some serious work tho. Some things like wayyy to busy and other things are far too big and clutter up the screen. Hopefully we can freely adjust alot of the ui elements.

    Console gameplay doesn't really matter if they aren't showing endgame, since poe1 campaign works with little to no issue on ps4, but completely falls appart during endgame mapping.
    Hoping endgame runs well on ps5 and xbox.

      They are still developing characters, there's 12 of them, why would they show endgame before that, everything should be in logical order. I understand that endgame is the most important part of the game, but just give them some time

    People who complain about the speed, they didn't even show the endgame yet. And even if it's slowed that's how GGG intended for POE2. If you don't like it go play POE1 or something else.

    I know it's early still, but were you finding decent rares on the ground? Also in general was it a pain to do inventory management with a controller or was it alright?

      I think the state of our gear was worse than you could expect, due to our lack of plan and scatterbrained decisions.
      I basically had a white bow and garbage life and resistances, because I used all my currency on everything I wanted to try out, like a bunch of crossbows.
      Inventory management with a controller is fine. There are a lot of convenient shortcuts, like a dedicated button for actions like equipping, identifying, or selling an item, so you don't have to move the cursor around as much. It's at least as good as POE1 currently is on controller, for reference.

    I couldn't tell from the video and don't remember if it has been mentioned in interviews, but is loot instanced between players? I always hate splitting up loot when playing some ARPGs with friends, much easier if everyone gets their own

      I suspect it will be like POE1, in that it is configurable whether loot is permanent allocation or temporary allocation.
      With permanent allocation, loot is split and only able to be picked up by whose drop it is, even if it is visible to everyone. With short allocation, loot is split the same way, but becomes available to everyone after several seconds.
      I see no reason for that to change for POE2. It isn't implemented yet, either way.

    The party member skill comboing is really cool. Do you feel like it was very slow to play in a party if you didn't employ combos like in the vine pod chain example though?
    The fight with Rudja felt way faster although im guessing the baron is an end of act boss and the engineer was earlier in her act, but im still curious how it felt difficulty-wise

      It's difficult to tell because I didn't really stop doing the toxic rain, which was lowering my DPS due to not being Vine Arrow and Poisonburst Arrow, until Captain Lance had to go do the interview.
      In general, I would say one is not strictly superior to the other in terms of speed. Surely there will be some edge cases where party play is better because of a broken interaction, but I don't think it will be slower unless the other player is literal dead weight.

    Yo, have they said anything about party play balance for encounters like this for 3 or more?

      Not that I know of, and I wouldn't want to speculate on that.
      What I have heard is that loot is somewhat tailored, where if a Monk and a Ranger kill a boss, they're more likely to get gear that applies to those classes, though that's still not finalized at all. I also heard that Quantity is mostly gone as a stat (no comment on party quantity), and that Rarity is more about getting "better" items, rather than upgrading the rarity tier of drops, though I could have misunderstood.

      @@OMGItsJousis I think Jonathan clarified in the recent interview with Ghazzy and DM that there is no inherent party bonuses to Quantity or Item Rarity, which seems like a good change to me.

    @OMGItsJousis did any devs pester you about finding fun combos? :D Do you feel that poe2 is more about stacking abilities into the field instead of having persistent things running all the time that enable emergent gameplay? Like how in PoE1, most things are setup to where you don't HAVE to lay down 3 different debuffs, cast an area buff, etc, just to do effective damage...

      It's more like I was pestering Octavian whenever he was around.
      POE2 does have Spirit as a stat you can invest into, which lets you add more passive things, like auras, trigger gems, and minions, so I don't think you necessarily have to have 20 things bound and use them all actively. However, you are definitely able to do that, as POE1 basically limited you to 1 or 2 6-links and scaling their damage to the moon. POE2 lets you be more versatile.
      I predict most people will find 2 skills that combo well for damage, and *maybe* 2 more skills that combo well for clearspeed, if the first 2 don't already cover that, and the rest will be utility skills or passive things like auras or triggers.

    Okay, parts of the fights honestly seem kinda bs, but the game is definitely slower and actually rewards the player for learning the fight properly instead of harassing them with a fast and painful death for not being zoom enough. I like this direction.

    Only 1 copy of a support gem is allowed across all skill gems ?
    That means if i socket multi proj on 1 bow skill, i cant use it on another ?

    Is anyone ever gonna explain how far from each other you can get in couch mode? Is there a rubber band? Does it change to split screen? Nobody's ANSWERING THAT

      You cannot go offscreen. If you both run to opposite ends of the screen, you will both be pushing against an invisible wall. If one person tries to go offscreen while the other person is stationary, the stationary one will be forcibly dragged along.
      Regarding a downed ally, originally, you were able to leave them behind and go offscreen, so, of course, everyone did that, and left their friend behind forever. So, in the demo, they made it so you couldn't leave them behind, which led to not being able to dodge properly in boss fights. So, they told me they're probably going to let you leave them behind, but give them a really annoying "Revive me!" button.

      @@OMGItsJousis Thats what i wanted to ask as well, since you wrote, that an ally in a menu can be dragged along. If aura supports are a thing, this would make it possible to drag your own afk aura along? Maybe a bit annoying since you would always be on the edge on the screen, but it may open possibilities. Especially when a „guest“ can take a character of the host. I am sure you will find fun ways to break the game (-:

      @@AlexSteak We had the same thought, and asked Octavian, and he said it would be pretty much impossible to get enough aura AOE to reach from where the AFK character is dragged.

    How does the loot drop work in POE 2 when players group up in a party?
    Is it individual loot drop or everyone in the same party sharing the loot drop by monsters and bosses?

      Same as in poe1. Loot is shared in the ground, but it's short allocation. If you don't pick it up, after 5s a teammate can pick it up.
      Latest interview talked about what they did to improve drop rates while in a party. More jewelry, a bit more armour, weapons are about the same.

    Not sure if you played any melee characters but did melee feel bad like it looked like during the exilecon playtest?
    meaning: easily over run, having to play slower, bosses seemed considerably more difficult compared to when using a ranged character

      Nothing is final, but it's probably exactly like how loot distributes in POE1: Customizable by the party leader per instance. You can make it so loot divides evenly permanently or for a short duration, or I think free-for-all is a setting.

      They're working on getting that working. For now coop means two controllers, but probably not gonna be that way forever.

    A lot of people are complaining that this is slow and boring in comparison to the first game, which could be "true". As much as I hate to say this, but Diablo 4 had this issue on launch. With Season 4, the game feels incredibly fast paced and there's always something going on outside of town that you're never stood still. Their solution wasn't "speeding players up", it was actually increasing mob density. I have the same movement speed on my Barbarian in Season 4 as I did with my Whirlwind farmer I made on launch, and it's much more rewarding to play.
    One thing I see constantly mentioned by content creators who are playing these closed-alphas is that density is increased significantly. If this is the case, and they are learning from Diablo 4's horrific mistakes, then I can make a good assumption that although the pace "looks" slow, it certainly won't feel that way. Good gameplay feedback to the player is number one priority. If it feels good, then it's good.
    I hope people don't flood the Alpha with complaints on speed, forgetting that the acts are always the slowest content in the game (except for blight). It's a new game, new systems, things are bound to be discovered. PoE1 was released over 10 years ago. Through community interactions and brainstorming, we have perfected the gameplay (to an extent). This game has yet to open it's doors to even the public beta, so there's nothing we have discovered yet to speed ourselves up.
    I hope we can all be patient and explore again, like we all did when we first played PoE1. We came to love this game for a reason.

    Does the controller auto aim only aim at targets in the direction you are looking?, or will it find a valid target no matter the direction but preference the direction you are facing? Like if you completely let go of the analog sticks and a enemi is behind you, and you press a ability will it target that enemy? I'm trying t o understand if during all these fights you are clearly back pedaling while fireing if you are using hte right analog stick, becuase early on in the video you said it(right analog) was barely used.

      Pretty much the only time I used the right analog stick was to aim at the bell, and not always at that. Usually I just tried to position the bell between myself and the boss, and let the autotarget on the boss hit the bell.
      Throughout the video, you can assume I'm autotargeting. It seems to autotarget the nearest enemy within the 360 degree range, with possibly an internal cooldown? During the demo, they asked for feedback, and I specifically requested the autotargeting range be increased, because you can see me target a wall while inside a boss arena a few times, simply because I was out of range.

    Do you think that the controller use will be the best option? I don't feel like buying a claw to play this game and the keyboard seems to be lacking with all the changes.
    PoE2 seems to be focused into party play with all the skills interactions. Did you feel that way or solo play was "good enough"?

      They didn't change anything about mouse control, though? You can play exactly like you play in PoE1, but you know can use WASD if you so desire.

    Hi, I have a question: What happens if ,when you're playing Couch CO-OP , one of you doesn't move and one of you advances in the map. How would that work screen wise?
