What a lovely interview! Thank you so much. Really appreciate the Q and A each time you do one Also am slightly distracted by how much i like the throw blanket on the couch >.>
The idea of experimenting with classes to create something unique in PoE2 makes me giddy, I really can't wait! I was never good at PoE, I'm helpless when it comes to spreadsheets, but thinking out of the box is where I have most fun
Watching the Beta reveal video and the Q&A has been the height of my year, I'm hyped! Once again GGG delivers. I just can't believe that "loot filter" hasn't been discussed. I guess they didn't create an in-game system and NeverSink's career is safe.
After the announcement I had to do stuff so I let the stream running, came back more than an hour later and the Q&A was still going I was so surprised, now I'm here to see what happened
I already watched this interview in two different places so to 'pay with engagement' I'm leaving a comment here instead. This was a great interview. You seem to really know how to let GGG devs just talk while still directing the flow of conversation in a useful manner. Thanks. Keep up the great work.
6:30 Interesting how the process changed from "re-use assets and change the colours" that Chris used to talk about in the GDC into "unique feel for every area with no sensation of re-use". I understand the need to re-use assets early on, but it's definitely not a good long term plan. I'm happy for this change.
I played POE for 2 hours back a few years and couldnt handle the amount of content, now it's time to pick it up again and learn it. Im so excited for this.
Haven't played PoE in probably 7-8 years, but I'm so looking forward to PoE2. And damn I always love listening to these devs talk, they are always just so excited about their game.
Youll get other devs who say they love playing their game but the pure joy these guys have about talking about all the all the changes in the game and how they came about show’s they’re the real deal.
Damn, watching the beta reveal and then this Q&A really made me feel bad that I have to wait two entire weeks to play the game, it sounds like so much fun!
Awesome interview, well done Ziggy! Other devs seriously need to take note, I’m like 20% hyped for the gameplay that was shown and 80% hyped because of the TRANSPARENCY! They’re hiding nothing and openly admitting that they know the game is going to get bricked by some crazy O.P combination at some point, so refreshing to hear! Can’t think of any other game that I’ve actually been looking forward to potentially breaking and providing feedback , awesome job GGG
I loved this, watched the whole thing and it's usually not the type of video that grabs my attention. I think the only thing that worries me is the fact that the "maps" will close on death and you have to move on. I'm more of a casual average player so I feel like that might discourage me on risking things; especially with bosses being harder. Knowing i had portals in poe and could screw up a few times was a nice safety net i guess. Other than that, looking forward on diving in and learning the new game. It's nice to see very passionate people talking about something we are very much looking forward to ! December can't come soon enough :)
21:06 Breaking the game and “beating the devs”, in a way, *is the game* when it comes to POE. This dev team sees that and takes it in stride. An extended beta / early access is going to be SO fun finding all these things to get some kind of reasonable state of balance sound for the majority of the player base before the 1.0 release.
got 3 Qs 1. does this game crash since today quite often on PS5? 2. When I start a new character, do I have to start from the beginning? 3. I collected some weapons from my class with higher stats, I did identify them but I cant equip them, why?
Although this was very briefly touched on, I feel like what they talked about regarding group play and skill interactions is so much bigger than what people may think. POE is for most people a solo game, but with the skill interactions and how easily you can switch skill gems around you could almost have a group play and solo build it seems. Encouraging players to play together was one of the things that I always thought was such a struggle in POE1, hoping this resolves some of that in POE2.
I think for the full release, there is a solution to somewhat mend the important problem Jonathan discusses around 1:16:00 about support gems and the potential negative reaction of them. Make creation of said support gem unbelievably epic, and the storytelling be such that you instantly understand that this is "The" Multiple Projectiles support gem. There is no way I could ever create that again; maybe because I created it in a tranced state where the knowledge isn't even necessarily my own, I lack the tools, or it is in another way subconsciously understood that I will not be able to create Multiple Projectiles again and I need to treat this gem very preciously. That way it will feel like a blessing that I even have one, rather than the otherwise inevitable sadness over not having two.
regarding flasks, as a player who's only started playing this year, I genuinely don't use utility flasks other than quicksilver flasks until I'm able to automate them to be used when they reach full charges
Dying once failing maps is a direction I didn't expect but certainly welcome. The semi-hardcore consequence means that building defense and sustain is much more meaningful
Oddly enough the best news for me was that you can play endgame without killing a 5 minute boss every map ! That alone finally bumped up my PoE enthousiasm !
The biggest thing I am going to miss moving to POE2 are all the masters you got to know. Einhar, Sister Cassia, Alva, Niko. I liked these guys, and I hope they will be OK in the mext journey :
Man I am so happy that they have embraced console. I have always wanted to get deeper into to Poe but as a console player you are pretty limited because the market is screwed and the flasking is impossible. Now I can get in on ground level with a game that was created with controller in mind and a shared market. This is going to be a long 2 weeks.
Bro I know what you mean, I realised very early that PoE on console was best with SSF. I learned important basic crafting very quickly because I HAD to, shout out to Subtractem. But THIS PoE2 is epic for cross platform.

This is the 4th time I have watched this interview... ZiggyD you are a good interviewer..
@@stpnpl thanks mate, that's an honour right there!
I already watched this interview in two different places so to 'pay with engagement' I'm leaving a comment here instead. This was a great interview. You seem to really know how to let GGG devs just talk while still directing the flow of conversation in a useful manner. Thanks. Keep up the great work.
Great interview Ziggy, natural and fun conversation

Interesting how the process changed from "re-use assets and change the colours" that Chris used to talk about in the GDC into "unique feel for every area with no sensation of re-use". I understand the need to re-use assets early on, but it's definitely not a good long term plan. I'm happy for this change.
I played POE for 2 hours back a few years and couldnt handle the amount of content, now it's time to pick it up again and learn it. Im so excited for this.
Great interview, thanks Ziggy! I didn't even realize how long it was; i could listen to y'all for (even more) hours.
Haven't played PoE in probably 7-8 years, but I'm so looking forward to PoE2. And damn I always love listening to these devs talk, they are always just so excited about their game.
Grinding Gear Games is the successor of Blizzard North. I'm so happy
This was wild. What an excellent interview.
I want to listen to these guys talk about their game for the next 2 weeks
Right off the bat, it’s more than enough content. Their early access looks like a complete game
I'm glad they are increasing currency drops by a lot. It always felt weird hording it to trade rather than using yourself (unless you play SSF).
Effectively, this is effectively the greatest q & a ive effectively ever effectively watched.
He said effectively like 3 times while I read this lmao, holy shit. Love this guy
A revamped Bestiary where you would hunt huge prey? That would be really neat, sign me up for Path of Monster Hunter!
All this awesome content, here is me just hoping the currency exchange will also be in PoE 2... such a game changer in PoE 1 ^^
Youll get other devs who say they love playing their game but the pure joy these guys have about talking about all the all the changes in the game and how they came about show’s they’re the real deal.
Amazing work! Now we wait for an interactive passive tree to be added to the PoE 2 website. 🙏
this is why I buy a supporter pack every league because they deserve it
Damn, watching the beta reveal and then this Q&A really made me feel bad that I have to wait two entire weeks to play the game, it sounds like so much fun!
1.35.12 Mark gives the middle finger. I point this out because I want to see memes in the poe sub.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
This was great, thanks for conducting it man.
That ending is priceless: **continues yapping** "I assume we've faded out, and cut..." "Hopefully..." "Ya never know." 🤣🤣

Breaking the game and “beating the devs”, in a way, *is the game* when it comes to POE. This dev team sees that and takes it in stride. An extended beta / early access is going to be SO fun finding all these things to get some kind of reasonable state of balance sound for the majority of the player base before the 1.0 release.
s/o to yall I cant wait to enjoy all of yalls hard work
got 3 Qs
1. does this game crash since today quite often on PS5?
2. When I start a new character, do I have to start from the beginning?
3. I collected some weapons from my class with higher stats, I did identify them but I cant equip them, why?
It is so good to see that one of the lead designer's passion is the discovery process.
Can't wait for "Ben already killed the level 4 pinnacle boss" memes
Can't wait to try it. Not sure if I will like a lot of the stuff , but it feels so fresh. I have not felt this eager to play a game in a looong while
The voice is not in sync...getting so much of OCD but yaay!! excited for POE2
Just for you I guess? It’s fine for me it seems.

I LOVE WHATEVER HAS BEEN EXPLAINED BY JONATHAN HERE ABOUT THE MAPING SYSTEM !!!
thanks for doing the Q&A ~
Wasn't able to listen to it cause it was so late. Good that's here xD.
This interview is nothing short of fantastic
Damn i love listening to mark and Jonathan geeking out
Hilarious that Jonathan thought Mark might have actually added a Point Tree to every map boss for a second there, AND that he didn't know about!
Great interview Ziggy. Thank you
I think for the full release, there is a solution to somewhat mend the important problem Jonathan discusses around 1:16:00 about support gems and the potential negative reaction of them.
I like how they all sit the same way
I was laughing when I noticed too, and laughed even more when I noticed I was sitting the same way 😂
this was fascinating and that's the reason why i'm watching it again
Dying once failing maps is a direction I didn't expect but certainly welcome. The semi-hardcore consequence means that building defense and sustain is much more meaningful
Mapping will defo be easier with 1-4 maps only having bosses
Avoiding map bosses may feel bad for some tho. Maybe the FOMO might force people to git gud idk
What happens if you die in all three of the initial maps you have access to? Is the atlas just bricked for that character?
When did they mention that in this video? Please give me a timestamp.

i can tell they are feeling really good about this game in so excited
It’s funny to think of GGG turning into The View over dexterity lmao
"a few poe1 ressources"
All 4 poe 1 devs are now working on poe 2 LMAO. But still even one poe 1 dev can make banger league, like Sanctum was maded literally by 1 dude
I'm all in boys. Can't wait.
Thanks, Ziggy - appreciate you!
Love the energy..love the passion
I looked through the timestamps did they ever address server load? With all the hype I’m wondering if anyone will be able to play Friday-Sunday
They said they have capacity for 1M players and potential to expand to 1.6M
I wasn't really expecting much from poe 2, but damn man I'm excited..
Such a nice little idea to increase the chance for rare chests at dead-ends. :)
imagine these guys making an MMO
such a nice interview. mark and jonathan are the goats
I got vacation coming up in December from 10th to 10th of January gonna be able to really sit down and play poe 2 🎉
Haven’t watched the whole interview yet, but was steam deck compatibility mentioned?
Man, this was just lovely!
Never thrown 30 monies at something as quick as I did after watching the reveal. Also taking an extra week off in December, no idea why...
*cough* and a sick week *cough*
But THIS PoE2 is epic for cross platform.
the early access will continue till full game release right? whats the deal about 2 weeks , i don’t understand
