    M.E.........I had always thought my 15 minutes would have come differently than as a shout out at the end of a road test & review video. Nonetheless, I am grateful that it came from you!!!!!! Great review and am looking forward to your next one. Miss you.

    I like this reviewer. I especially like the fact that she doesn't have the feel that she's reading from a script and a spec sheet and rather just tells you the straight facts.

    Nice Scotty shoutout lol :P and you do awesome bloopers lol. Oh and you're not bad a reviewing cars either :P. I agree with you about the transmission. Just make an auto and auto and a stick a stick. and don't penalize me if I want to row my own gears. You're a true blue car enthusiast, Emme. Glad you're on the Roadfly team :)

    @Jabid21 It does not have a actual spare tire, but its for more than just the one reason. It also saves space and the tire mobility kit is a much simpler solution. You dont have to take the wheel off you simply put the sealant in and use the compressor to fill the tire with air again. Hope that answers your question.

    In Canada, I have a 6-speed manual 2011 Elantra GLS which has handsfree/bluetooth, heated front and rear seats, sunroof, fogs, etc, but it wasn't available in the top trim (Limited) which has the nav/backup camera. I'm surprised they wouldn't offer the same options in the US as they do in Canada.

    elantra has got to be my favoritecompact car now, all hyundais are amazing though, the elantra looks so much better than the 2012 civics believe me I drive them all day and hate them, elantra looks the best, its best on gas, has the most features, the cheapest price, and best reliability, hyundai i take my hat off to you lol cant wait for a veloster

    I bought this car a few months ago, got a great deal, also looked at the 2015 Civic, Corolla, and Ford Focus, but in the end i bought the 2016 Elantra. Plus I got an incredible deal on the Elantra during thanksgiving weekend. Traded in a 2007 Mazda 3, which had given me problems with the AC for the last 40,000 miles, so, I was not going to consider a Mazda for the time being.

    • @PS-sb8kk
      @PS-sb8kk 8 років тому

      I like the car, but it's not as agile and fun to drive as a Mazda3. The Elantra is overall quieter than my 2007 Mazda 3 was, but the issue is the Elantra has a torsion beam suspension, which is not as good as an independent rear suspension. I knew this when I bought the car.
      When you're driving over smooth roads, and highways the Elantra is great, but if you hit potholes and other disturbances in the road, it really jolts the car.
      Also wish the pick up was better on the Elantra, then again, I had a stick shift Mazda 3, so I was used to shifting a lot of times to maximize the acceleration.
      I would tell you this, if you want something really sporty, get the Mazda 3, or the VW Golf. Maybe even check out the Honda Civic SI when it comes out. But if you're looking at the Corolla, or the regular Civic, the Hyundai Elantra competes very well against those two cars.
      I will also add, that when I test drove the Ford Focus, I FN loved that car, and the way it handled, but the issue is that I wanted to get an automatic transmission, and the dual clutch auto trans has been problematic for a few years on the Focus, not sure if this issue has been resolved yet, but didn't want to jump into a car that might have a major issue on it.

    • @PS-sb8kk
      @PS-sb8kk 8 років тому

      ***** Good luck, I know that making a decision can involve a lot of research, I admit, I think Mazdas are great cars, and despite the AC issues i had with my Mazda3 it was overall a good car besides that major issue. I would recommend staying away from Mitsubishi, GM, Chrysler, and definitely don't even bother with Fiat. I also am not a fan of Nissan when it comes to their smaller cars, the Sentra always seems like it's lagging behind. And to be honest, I don't care for VW, because they are expensive to maintain and repair.

    • @immature1990
      @immature1990 5 років тому

      P S I had also a Mazda 3 mines was an 09 and I had the issue with my ac too like yours and plus my car had to be in the shop every Other month and I recently bought a 16 Elantra as well after looking at 15 civic, 15,16 Corolla and 16 Sentra but the Elantra was better fit for me

    @roadflytv This is a great review. Emme was so informative and creative in her approach. I was wondering if you guys were doing a review on the new Ford Focus or Chevy Cruze anytime soon. Also I just wanted an opinion on which compact vehicle new or used, would you recommend to a college student on a tight budget. Thank you!!!!!!

    personally, i dont think the ride is stiff at all although i am driving the limit trim. in fact, i find it comfortable...maybe little firmer but not harsh. The handling to me is very responsive but this is not mazda 3. i think hyundai is making a huge comeback lately. first the genesis, than sonata, now the elantra.

  • @wheelerwheels

    YES, I agree, no in between shift/not shift...I hate the GM models button shifter...it doesn't do anything...it won't shift when you want it to! I dread the day that I won't be able to buy "STANDARD" transmission cars, and I hope manual stays forever.

  • @ddnn3
    @ddnn3 13 років тому

    @bingoe4 IDK how much more cost the manual shift function adds to an auto transmission. It's useful when you want to have daily auto relaxed driving, and drop down a gear to pass/when exiting a turn. A little spirited driving. I think it's a great thing to have, and hyundai should have it to compete with other companies.

    @TSOCD With that argument. Your stating that everyone that drives a Toyota is a senior citizen and no longer has the ability to make the determination between the gas and the brake pedal.
    Actually. That sound's about right. LOL

  • @ddnn3
    @ddnn3 13 років тому

    @bingoe4 There are times when you don't want to have the lag of stepping on the throttle harder to downshift, and you would use sport or manual shift mode. Also, the more expensive VW transmissions you are referring to are a totally different thing; dual clutch. Dual clutch transmissions can shift faster than anybody in a traditional manual tran. and are becoming the standard for high end sports cars.
