One of my all time favorite movies. Mel Brooks was a comedic genius!!!!
Mel Brooks is one of the most brilliant writers ever. He has the unique talent of sending a profound message through comedy in subtle ways. Many viewers misinterpret this movie as political incorrectness.
Well I wouldn't say this is subtle lol
Hello Sally, How are you doing?
He didn't write this. He's actually a terrible writer.
And yes it was partly political incorrectness
@SuperCapt1701 Pryor was the one who wrote, and insisted on, the use of the word "n*ggers" in the script because he thought it was more poignant, shocking and would draw the most laughs
.
Good Lord! I forgot they got Count Basie to be in this. Everyone needs to relax and watch this again.
Me as well
Ive never seen this movie in its entirety but the scenes i have watched are so hilarious 😂😂
Those were the days - great humor - great fun. 2023 sucks.
It was worth it just to see the Count Basie orchestra 👍👍👍they are all sadly missed !
The Count Basie Orchestra still tours, despite the Count's death in 1984.
Glorious bastards
The greatest Comedy EVER made thank you Mel Brooks! Clevon Little, Gene Willy Wonka Frankenstein Wilder, Richard Pryor, Madeline Kahn I don't have time time to track down everybody! you guys were greats! The best! thank you all!
don't forget Harvey Korman, Slim Pickens, and Alex Karras
It's "Fronkensteen"
The original Willy Wonka is a great movie. 100 times better than remake. That's just my opinion.
And Higgins from Magnum, P. I. -- John Hillerman
Don't forget the appearance by Count Basie and his orchestra.
This here is proof of what the internet does. Cuts a bad thing out of a totally harmless thing. This movie is beyond hilarious. It's a comedy treasure.
You couldn't make a movie like this today, it will always be a classic comedy
nope definitely wont be remaked lmao
You can.
You wouldn't have to, just watch the news every night. Just that no one is laughing anymore.
That's the thing. We don't need to. This is satirizing whitewashed Westerns, showing an admittey ridiculous, but more realistic version of the West as a whole. At the time, what was made was bland westerns with little violence, no blood, black-and-white villains. The point of this was to show how they were ridiculous, how bland and uninspired. And it did it well. Nobody could make this today because we don't have that anymore. These days, westerns are always gritty.
Whoopi Goldberg defended the film and said that it could be made today because it's an actually funny movie that laughs at racism instead of being racist.
Madeline Kahn and Harvey Korman were frickin rock stars! I love this film.
Cleavon Little was one of the funniest actors of all time.
Truth
He was so smooth... His physical presence on screen is something to behold . He is amazing in Once Bitten too
Funniest of Mel Brooks career. 'Scuse me while I whip this out" is the funniest line ever.

Haha! If that's true I won't be in it.
🟥 One of my absolute favorites. RIP Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder. Your legacy lives on.
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂god I love my dad. He made my childhood so epic. We lived in the hood and this movie was loved in every house on the block. We all watched it together as kids and would just die laughing our little heads off.
Sooo many great lines in this film.
"He's just crazy enough to do it." Crazy like a fox!

This for me is still one of the absolutely funniest bits ever recorded.
You simply cannot say.. i've lived.. if you haven't laugh your ass off seen this brilliant movie. Pure genius.
I can still remember the night I saw this movie in the cinema. Don't think I've been in a theater since with such uproarious laughter. Young Frankenstein may have come close.
That's Frahnk-en-steen.
Yep, tremendous - and Young Frankenstein may be even better. "Sank you, Doctor"
Only people of a certain class will appreciate this movie. Truly underrated
This movie was made exactly when it was supposed to be made. It doesn't need to be made today.
Greatest comedy movie ever...I cry laughing every time I watch it 😅
This was my grandfather's favorite movie. It's my dad's favorite movie and it is my favorite movie. Thanks Mel Brooks for bringing three generations together, over offending absolutely everyone
Hilarious we have to be able to laugh at ourselves sometimes. And think how many younger people don't get the "laurel" and "hardy" handshake bit?
Unfortunately, I have to admit that I dont get that part.
@@donaldwilliamson1227 Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy comedy team from 20s and 30s many years ago. Made many movies, pretty world famous way back
@@gregbaldwin5144 Ah, thanks!
A laurel is a wreath. A hearty handshake is a good hand shake.
laurel and hardy were comedians
Greg Baldwin Thanks. That had gone over my head. Well done!
Truly an astonishing movie and one of my childhood favorites. An incredible cast with impeccable timing and grace who present a perfect anti-racism tone without being preachy. This movie would never be allowed today by the risk averse studios, but thank goodness Mel made it. Cleavon who I would normally have thought of as a serious actor just nails the comedy demonstrating his incredible range and skill. Gene of course is perfect as always, demonstrating perfect comedic timing along with warmth.
It's a timeless movie. Mel Brookes is a maniac.
A lovable maniac.
@@LesterMoore & @SuperSix Delta And A Paddleball Wiz - Don't Forget That!
Cleavon Little was such a talented actor as well as being a handsome man.
Yes he was. I had a big crush on him growing up. RIP Handsome
I love this movie. Literally a gem.
I liked at the end of this scene when Bart said to himself, “Oooh, Baby.....you’re so talented, and they’re SO DUMB!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They did set the bar quite low.
One of the best scenes in movie history!
One of the BEST movies ever made Mel Brooks is a genius.
So many classic lines from this movie.
It's a timeless classic! Way ahead of its time.
This a Genre of movie that will never ever be made again, which is very unfortunate because it pokes fun at all walks of life.......and everyone enjoyed it and no one was offended!
