My favourite improvised Carrey moment is in the first Ace Ventura when he walks by an orchestra at a party and randomly pulls one guys arm that's holding the violin bow just as he is playing. It's so random and well timed which makes it perfect.

Genius level stuff, Jim Carrey. He brought so much joy and happiness to my family and I over the years, especially at his peak, starting with Living Color. People just look at the silly antics, but it takes great skill, talent and a high degree of intelligence to pull off, and to do so consistently for so long. I love Jim.

The best part of Jim Carrey is that he’s the most talented and versatile comedian ever in cinema history. He plays a different character in every movie he’s in
I remember watching that “chitty chitty bang bang” part in the theater when it came out. The entire theater was crying laughing. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a room with so many people laughing so hard ever. I’ll never forget it.
For me also best Jim scene ever, when he pressed the throttle pedal with both legs i was crying. He is litelary an impresionation of a cartoon character.
I remember the moment I realized how truly remarkable Jim Carrey's talent is. The Truman Show. Near the end, when he's in the boat and facing everything about himself - his terror, his past, his uncertainty about the future and his certainty that he must keep moving towards it - I was blown away. Stunning performance and wholly unexpected, since previous performances were Ace Ventura, The Mask, etc. Memorable and b.e.a.youtiful.
That movie gets to me. My dad was adopted, and he told me that scene where he finds out it's all a show and reaches the wall, realizes it's all been one big charade - reminded him of finding out the truth and that everyone seemed to be in on it but him.
I was living in a share house with 9 other people in the tropical north of Australia and it was so bloody hot one day that we decided to all jump in my panel van and go to the local cinema because it had industrial grade air conditioning. On the sweaty drive in several blunts were passed around inside the car and we shuffled red-eyed and staggering into the theatre not even knowing what we’d bought tickets to. The movie was called “Ace Ventura Pet Detective “ 😅 two minutes in and I was struggling to breathe and I still remember all of us shrieking with hysterical laughter like it was yesterday. Jim, you’re an absolute legend! Thank you for everything 😊

That 7-11 scene was one of my favorites. It's completely in character and is more natural humor than many of the more famous lines in that movie. It's how a 'dumb' guy like his character would actually act in real life.

Not everything is filmed with a whole camera crew and set. with the right camera and gear you can take a long distance shot and have a mic close enough to the actor especially if you want to save money and want to get a nice organic environment and not have to pay a bunch of people, not really rocket science.
@@bes12000 Yeah, sure... It's not like Jim and the camera operator were the only ones there, even with such a scenario. Not to mention that it's a public space and you need a permit to film in a public space. If you have a permit it costs money and then you usually close of that space for the duration of the filming to prevent exactly this from happening. I looked up Pete Farrelly's comments in the Reddit AMA and he said the pair weren't extras, they were bystanders who were watching the production and Farrelly put them in the scene. So they're technically are "random men who were not paid extras", like the video said. I think the issue is that the phrase "they just happened to be outside the 7-11" makes it sound like they were randomly caught on camera, rather than being put there intentionally by the director.
As an actor, I just want to let everyone know that what you call "improv" or "ad lib" is rarely completely spontaneous. Robin Williams was also known for going off script (way before Carrey), he did it a lot when he was on Mork and Mindy, and on Aladdin most of the jokes are Robins' on-the-spot improves. a well as in other movies he did.
Laughter is a gift, being able to make people laugh is a blessing. For people like Jim and Robin Williams, being so talented and hysterical can also be somewhat of a curse. To then be expected to be "always on." Especially if it ends up being you who always expects it.
Ace Ventura was the first time I can remember hard core laughing in a theater as a kid. My aunt took me my brother and our cousin to see it randomly, we had no clue to what it was about . But we all laughed our @$$es off. Aunty tried to cover our eyes during the love scene LOL.
Yes! Exactly… I was 7 when my parents took me to see Ace Ventura: Pet Detective in 1994 and from then on Jim Carrey became my idol. I followed his career ever since.

I am slowly rewatching all his movies with my kids. It is dawning on me just how psychotic all his characters were.😂😂 Ace Ventura was certifiably insane.
They’re muting stuff that either is considered offensive by UA-cam standards or might be - in order to be able to monetize the video. It sucks but that’s UA-cam. The problem is UA-cam themselves. In Liar Liar Carrey says “If I were a boxer, I would bounce those things like Sugar Ray Leonard!” to the well-endowed woman. The other from Liar Liar isn’t worth explaining, but watch the bloopers it is funny.

1:09 - bit of a reach about this scene being improvised/off-script when you can tell Carrey messed up and breaks character a little. More credit should go to the Director's ingenuity to keep it in, believing it emphasised how much of a heartless villain Count Olaf is as a character 😅

02:15 I understand that the line was improvised, but what about the condom itself? Like, if that was in the script, then was it supposed to be with no lines, or another line altogether? Or was that Jim's from before jumping on the set?
3:20 - the reason you've clicked.
nice video thx for the daily dose of jim carrey
Love jim what an absolute legend he made my childhood ❤
He's a clown. Most of his movies were crap. His comedy is for idiots.
A funny guy in any film....Had great fun watching this...Thank you
Hands down for me, and the most unexpected, was the scene of the surveillance Rhino, and the Birth of Ace Ventura !
Still makes me laugh just thinking about it !
The longer it ran, the more ridiculous it became !
Remember watching as a kid lol.
@@TheSoulCrisis
So funny !
@ least to Me
👍😉
To me too!!🤣🦏🦏🤣
When I was a kid, I laughed at that so hard I thought I was going to die.
@@zoyadulzura7490
It was Genius !
Totally unexpected !
And the Parents reaction only added to the event !
I'm still smiling, just thinking about it !
Lol...!
👍😉
I truly miss Jim and his comedic movies. Now he's retired and I'm miss his brand of comedy that only he can pull off. I still love him to bits and as long as he's happy, I'm glad he's content. Jim you are a bloody legend. 😂❤
"accidentally succeed in physics" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The kid's response in Unfortunate Events sold scene even more. Holy crap that cast was good.
3:12 Yeah those lines are sooooo funny when you mute the entire thing. I'm literally rolling on the floor... no, wait, I think I burst a blood vessel.
Seriously, the word "bra" is now prohibited on UA-cam. We've officially gone back in time 400 years.
Why bother including scenes they you're going to censor?
Did YT censor it? Lately they've been censoring quite a bit of material. Maybe he originally included it. Also, it shows me that I need to go find the original adlib lines.
Copyrights get flagged after the video is posted it's better to edit it than delete successful video
All I can think about is him as a little kid, driving his mother absolutely nuts with his antics🤣
You explained this in such a fun and engaging way!
What is the point of having these it you're going to remove the sound for certain dialogue?
The big gulps killed me I had no idea this was improvised
Does anyone else lose sound in places like at 3:25?
That's just the world catching its breath
The Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang is always my fave improv of Carrey's! 😂😂
imScott
🤓🤓
Jim “the legend that nobody can follow” Carrey
The audio seems to be censored at some points (3:29 for instance). Is it just me or are others finding this?
I stopped watching when the muting started to happen
This man is a classic when it comes to making you laugh. I miss him so much. There is no good movies out anymore and it’s because they blackball this man bring him back. Everybody deserves a second chance and we deserve more laughter. Bring him back for the people that’s all I have to say
Robin Williams was also known for going off script (way before Carrey), he did it a lot when he was on Mork and Mindy, and on Aladdin most of the jokes are Robins' on-the-spot improves. a well as in other movies he did.
Yes... The OG
Yeah for Alladin they just let Robin be himself and animated him afterwards so it fit what he was saying/doing.
Yeah so? Williams was a movie star before Carrey. What is your point?
@@guyverjay1289Carrey surpasses Williams though… yes, Williams is definitely amazing but he can’t do the physical things that Carrey can do
Both Carrey and Williams are treasures in film.
this person needs to be immortalised at any cost.
2:50 Those two who refused to leave the set, so they just turned them into extras.
Laughter is a gift, being able to make people laugh is a blessing.
For people like Jim and Robin Williams, being so talented and hysterical can also be somewhat of a curse.
To then be expected to be "always on."
Especially if it ends up being you who always expects it.
My sides hurt from laughing when I saw it
I’m a bit older. My parents took us kids to see Airplane when we were young. They didn’t know what they were getting into, but we loved it!
He made millions of people laugh and have a good time with his skits and movies. A true legend.
found this in my feed after watching Dave Chappell's latest comedy special, I LOVED Jim Carrey growing up in the 90s and early 2000s, this compilation confirms he really is a great actor and God-given talent on camera! Can't wait to see him in Sonic movie 3! hopefully
Good, thank you for not saying that he always plays the same character… I’m sick of hearing that shit from people
ok that grinch one was pure professionalism lmfao
The big gulps line just got even better. My favorite line of the movie and I didn’t know the dudes WERENT EVEN ACTORS
Bullshit. They had 2 b actors. The set had 2 b closed.
Man, it's nice to see so many comments of love for Jim. I've followed him since In Living Color.
Seems like many people don't find him funny or (extremely) talented. It completely baffles me. Maybe it's a generational thing.
Jim Carrey is a Master of his Art🤗 I LOVE watching his movies just to see him perform perfection🤩😍🥰❤ I love the actor but also the man He is😀 I think he's an Ascended Master.. I LOVE AND RESPECT YOU VERY MUCH MR. CARREY🤗🥰🙏🤝
Yes! Jim Carrey is the best comedian in cinema history, next to Robin Williams.
There aren’t any comedians like him anymore. The full on dedication to an over the top character. Robin Williams was another one. Man. That era has passed. ☹️
Guys, check your videos when uploading, audio is off several times !
Yeah I thought that was my speakers shutting off for a second.
it’s on purpose , had to remove audio clips due to copyright
4:06 that was improvised? That’s amazing 😂
I am slowly rewatching all his movies with my kids. It is dawning on me just how psychotic all his characters were.😂😂 Ace Ventura was certifiably insane.
Loved that Big Gulps bit. So random and hilarious!
He is my role model for what we can do with ADHD.
Why is everything so much funnier now 😂😂 I can't keep it together
Is it me, or does the sound drop out several times after the 3:10 mark?
They’re muting stuff that either is considered offensive by UA-cam standards or might be - in order to be able to monetize the video. It sucks but that’s UA-cam. The problem is UA-cam themselves. In Liar Liar Carrey says “If I were a boxer, I would bounce those things like Sugar Ray Leonard!” to the well-endowed woman. The other from Liar Liar isn’t worth explaining, but watch the bloopers it is funny.
5:25 “Despite not being one of his best movies…” how dare you🤦🏻♂️Cable Guy is one of his best movies ever. A dark comedy thriller that’s both terrifying & hilarious at the same time. And serves as an intelligent commentary on how tv/media obsession can be harmful to a person’s development 🤌🏼💯 it’s a classic
@0:35 Hats off to the actor in the middle? That man’s name is Mike Starr & he is legendary. Ed Wood, Goodfellas, etc.
The part in Ace Ventura when he's looking in the swimming pool for the stone in the ring doing the Star Trek voice just cracked me up every time😅
Carrey's best film by far is "The Majestic". It's overlooked by most people.
His improvisation really sells what makes his movies so memorable.
0:13 I understood that reference
Can you please enlighten me...cuzz i am still calculating all the pro's and con's of that combination.

Underrated comment.
Thank you for pointing out the fact Anthony Hopkins never said “Hello Clarice, it’s good to see you again”/“Hello Clarice” in the movie.
1:09 - bit of a reach about this scene being improvised/off-script when you can tell Carrey messed up and breaks character a little. More credit should go to the Director's ingenuity to keep it in, believing it emphasised how much of a heartless villain Count Olaf is as a character 😅
Lol that's crazy bout the chitty chitty bang bang scene as that was one of my absolute fav scenes of the movie as a kid 😅 it always had me geeking!
