    How to use henna
    1. Henna mask, mix with water to make a thick paste, lemon juice may be added. Follow with deep conditioning treatment.
    2. Henna gloss, teaspoon of henna + favorite deep moisturizing conditioner + a little bit of oil.
    3. Infuse an oil with henna can be used for sealing hair ends or for promoting hair growth if put on scalp, fenugreek seeds are recommended to be added.
    4. Henna tea. Boil hot water add henna and let it sit about 8 hours then strain. Apple cider vinegar could be added.

      Gee Row R. I love using a Rosemary , fenugreek tea as a final rinse post deep conditioning. Totally agree. Oh oh and hemp seed oil is slept on for a good scalp massage re prepoo. If is natural and pronouncable, skin, hair and body prefers. Less is more. Lol I drink my MSM. I began eons ago because it helps with joint inflammation reduction. The side benefit is hair and nail growth.

      ElegantPaws01 how do you do rosemary fenugreek tea? I have been having headaches since taking msm. I’m calling my doctor tomorrow to find out if it’ll go away. If so I wil resume. I make everything now. Occasionally, i order from natty Naturals. Leave in conditioner is the ish. I’ll have grab some hemp seed oil. Thanks for the info.

    • @ElegantPaws01
      @ElegantPaws01 5 років тому +3

      Gee Row R. Natty Naturals lemongrass is heaven. Literally, rosemary leaves and fenugreek seeds, boil up then leave on low for an hour then cool and bottle leave in fridge. I make enough for two weeks meaning to shampoos. One teaspoon of fenugreek seeds to three table spoons, heaping spoons in 4 cups of water...leave it to steep. Then put in two applicator bottles and put in the side of your fridge. When you have rinsed out your conditioner, take this cooling rinse put your head over the sink, apply o your roots let it drain through. It does its job on the scalp and closes your cuticles. Now TO MSM begin with the nth of a spoon in a cup of water. Each week double that amount. You work your way up to one level teaspoon. Do this for three months once a day. Bedtime recommended. Go off it for a month or so and start the process again. You are taking ok much or for too long. Take a break. Try bamboo tea for a bit or lemongrass tea or ashwaganda . I am currently working on a DHT prepoo oil which is sitting on the sill in the atrium for the next month. I love experimenting that is proven useful.

But after discovering your channel I finally found what was wrong and you gave immediate steps in fixing it. And for that I thank you! My hair is now mid back length after using some of your ayruvedic hair practices and it's low porosity, of a high density but the strands are very very fine. Because of this tangles are an absolute nightmare and it breaks easily. But I'm enjoying the journey to healthy hair! I do look forward to many more great videos from you! I had bra strap length curly hair. I had just colored my hair last week bright honey blonde & it turned out light red, and only my roots were super blonde. Weird. Anyway I just cut it off out of frustration. The next day after the coloring and big chop, I went to my go-to henna (Godrej Nupur 9 Herbs Blend Henna Powder) and mixed in some coffee with it to be extra. Moisturized and everything.....WITHIN A WEEK my roots were dark again!!!! From bright blonde roots to my natural dark brown roots popping out about half an inch in a WEEK!!! Why? BECAUSE HENNA IS THE TRUTH!!! Been using it a year and a half and it has saved my high porosity 3c curls. Saved them! 🙌 I even infused that henna blend in some EVOO for a few weeks, and use that in between treatments. My hair stays so soft, strong and EASY to detangle using my henna oil 2-3x a week.
    Just get yourself some henna & get it on your hair somehow. There's tons of ways. All of them are on Farida's channel. 😆 Get you some!

    I used henna for years and grew my hair to mid-back length. I stopped using it but was still taking great care with my hair but within a year I had to cut it up to shoulder length, partly because of the hard water in my new home, (we’ve since gotten a whole-house water system and a shower filter) but henna coated hair could’ve mitigated some of that damage.
    My hair also began to get much curlier and I started having slightly more single strand knots and clumps of knots throughout.
    Next, I started shedding hair although it had managed to grow back to arm-pit length, again because I take care of it, but it wasn’t arm-pit length all over. So, when I went in for a yearly blow-out and trim, I had to cut it back off to just under shoulder length.🙄🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️
    It felt great for about 3 weeks, then it started tangling in the roots.🙄
    I washed, deep conditioned and oiled it...the knots came out but I was irritated and afraid to have to keep cutting my hair off.
    Luckily, I keep Red Raj in my hair arsenal, I never swore off of henna, I just stopped using it.
    Anyhow, I mixed some up w/some coconut milk, let it dye release, spread it on, let it sit for 4 hours and lo and behold, no more knots/tangling.
    I’m going to henna load every 2 weeks for 2-3 months like I did before to get it to mid-back length, then I’ll slow to once a month like before. I used to sleep in it but that’s a tediousness I don’t want to do again, I was also working then so I didn’t have the time I have now. This time I will henna in the early morning and let it sit until afternoon (8 hours or so).
    After this example, I’m a henna head for life. I like long hair and I like it ON my head.
    Great post hun!👍🏾💜💙

    I've been following & using henna, aruyvedic herbs, & oils for over a year now. I've always had long, thick hair naturally. But, BABY the length retention & virtually no split ends showed me the sky's the limit! The henna definitely loosens my curls to where there's no definition. The benefits are so great, I just do twists outs on those weeks. When I want my curls back poppin', I just use clay & an aruyvedic mask (left over from the oils), and curls are poppin' like they never left! My hair is air drying as I’m typing this and I can see my curls are looser than usual. I like it! I’m not yet at a length or texture where my hair will drop down on it’s own. My curls are typically reaching for the sky by sticking straight up in the air. That’s still the same, for now, but my curl pattern is in tact and looking like a 3c in some areas 4a in others. I’m excited to continue seeing results from regular use of henna!

    I used to have very long thick beautiful hair when i was young and due to stress, low iron and other factors my hair started falling out at 19yrs old. Badly. I tried so many things to a point of exhaustion and it never went anywhere. You have no idea how sad i felt about my hair, crying frustration all of it...From hair pills, rogaine, vivascal, anti thinning sprays, i tired them all. I knew about henna but never knew of henna treatment with oils.
    Well, thank goodness for Fareeda, Ive started doing this as of July of last year and my hair is so much better now. It has volume and feels good! I have before and after photos but i wasnt sure where to post them. One thing i did differently was to wet my hair before i put the oil in and then put on a heat cap for a hour or so. That really makes a difference. My goal is to completely have my thinning scalp/edges disappear. Some women here probably understand what bad and thinning hair feels like, It defeating.
    Anyway, God is good and there are amazing people like her out there to help spread the word about natural stuff thats been out for ages and it works, its healthy and doesnt break the bank but many of us are not aware of it. Ancient remedies worked for a reason. The market now is flooded with so much crap that gives you tons of promises, takes your $ and gives u nothing back. Trust in nature.
    I hope this works for you too. Im just a newbie on my hair journey and wishing for healthy think long hair. Amen 🙏🏻😅

Which stopped when I began to deep condition consistently. I can also tell that I have a bit of a reddish tint to my hair now. It looks lovely, even though I've never dyed my own natural hair, and never will.

    Hi Farida! 👋🏽 I just want to thank you even though it’s probably a bit too soon. 😅
    After my 3rd setback in my hair growth journey, (I lost 5 inches due to mechanical damage about a month ago and *still* have some damaged cuticles) I have *finally* decided to use henna. I tried cassia about a month and a half ago and was blown away! I had high hopes that I would only need a small trim (my last was in January) But after going in for my trim and losing so many inches, I decided no more. I immediately jumped online ordered Henna and many other Ayurvedic powders! Lol 😂
    Henna was the last thing I hadn’t tried. Well, last week, I used a full out henna mask and honestly my hair seems transformed! 😱 All of my fears all these years of my hair becoming too dark or turning bright red were unfounded. I wish I would have started when I first started following your channel about 4 years ago, but I was a chicken and still wanted to do balayage, etc. Well I can definitely say it wasn’t worth it. 😑 I will never go back. 🙌🏽
    Today I have made a henna gloss and I’m excited to finally be on this Ayurvedic journey towards waist length hair! It’s honestly all thanks to you sharing your journey. Thank you!

      Do you mean add henna and msm to teas and oils? If so, yes! She has many hair growth oil recipes that use both. And you can add henna to any deep conditioner, but since henna is strengthening you will want to avoid strengthening DCs with protein in them, so as not to over do it. She always mentions what DC she's using in her gloss recipe videos if you want specific recommendations from her, but your favorite hydrating/moisturizing conditioner will do. Hope this helps.

    I just watched your video and you're absolutely right about henna. I've been using it in my hair for roughly about three years. My hair was thin and extremely short from using perms and heat. I started using henna because of grey strands not realizing its properties. My routine was basic using henna for coloring and wearing protective hair styles. Three years later my hair is mid shoulder length and appears healthy. Of course my routine included dietary changes... natural oils only in my hair and of course henna. I just wanted to validate your video and show support. You're telling the truth about henna. I wish you the best!

      Hey preyn49. Does henna cover the gray hairs well and how long? Thanks

    • @preyn49
      @preyn49 3 роки тому +1

      @@paulaevans6291 Yes it covers the grey ...there are two ways in which you can accomplish this. You can use Apple Cider vinegar ( preferably Bragg's) or lemon juice. I believe it depends on the brand you purchase. Grey hair is difficult to dye which I'm sure you're aware but henna does work. Now depending on how often you wash your hair you can get about six weeks maybe longer but of course new hair growth is another issue. The best thing about henna is that it's not harmful to your hair so you can use when you need to and it's a plant so you can't go wrong. I should mention there are several colors but be mindful of the brand. I use a brand called Rainbow. I heard some henna is laced with other substances that isn't good for your hair. I hope I was helpful in answering your question. Take care of yourself.

      @BL3SSed-Bliss 5 років тому +1

      Agreed. The thing is though it’s like food. There’s such a variety of options, and so many things can be attributed to our good health. So it’s great to have information of what is available, what benefits said options potentially have/ carry/give, and experiment for your own particular needs. Try the introduction method used with babies, essentially a calculated trial-and-error. Introduce only one thing into your life at a time, whether that be once a week or once a month. Only incorporate into your routine that/those which benefits/pleases you most. Remember each individual has a unique package, therefore needs unique recipes. Certainly is a tedious process, let alone MAINTAINING a routine once established, but more than likely worth it. Especially if it lasts a great length of time.
      Do keep in mind that if you live in an atmosphere that experiences climate changes, you might need to change your routine alongside them (essentially change with the seasons). Most people say/do this, all experts do, but I’d personally LOVE, IMMENSELY prefer, and am DETERMINED to discover a perfect routine for Self, that can be used throughout the year, every year, and alongside my lifestyle provide to me increasingly beautiful results.
      Best wishes on your journey. Please ignore any typos, using Talk-to-text, and not proofreading. 😄🤓 (Love your moniker by the way.)💜🦋

      Imaan It’s more effective to follow up with an indigo treatment. The dye in the henna takes time to release, but the indigo starts working straight away. If you mix the henna and allow the Lawson dye to release and when you are about to use it, then add the indigo, that is a better method. If your hair is really dark anyway, you won’t really notice the henna colour, accept in sunlight, if at all. It takes years to show even the hint of colour she has if your hair is black.

    Curly Proverbz, I am about to testify! LADIES, PLEASE, PLEASE LISTEN TO ME!! Earlier today I had a consultation with a natural hair stylist. I wanted to find a good stylist for diva cuts and new styles. I mentioned to her my hair has less body, curl pattern, and thickness because my hair care routine changed about 6 months ago, and one major difference was my henna usage. I became lazy and stopped my henna treatments and my hair has paid the price. After much discussion, we created an action plan that include more frequent trims/cuts and new protective styles. However, the major change will be incorporate henna back into my hair care routine.
    Curly, girl, I've watched all your videos. For two years, I regularly used your mask, gloss, tea, and oil and my hair was thick, healthy, with a popping curl pattern. Loved your videos so much bought your cassia product a few years ago.
    I was thinking about all your henna videos on the drive home. Arrived home went to your YT channel and saw this new video. I call you my "Henna Angel" (LOL) and view your video today as a sign that your spirit is with me saying, "Girl, just get back on track... you know power of henna!"
    Ladies, please believe Curly when she says henna will change your hair for the better. She is RIGHT! There's a major difference after you start using it and after you stop. I SWEAR will never stop using henna again. THANKS CURLY!

      Naturally Dunn I love the Red Raj as well. I just used the 25% off. I think they mentioned that the henna is acidic enough. I don’t want the added dryness from lemon myself . The Lawsonne dye in Red Raj with just water is amazing.

    I just had my henna delivered!! I’m soo happy. Just to confirm is it. 1) mix henna into paste and leave for over 6 hours, 2) apply onto hair and leave on hair for 6 hours ? Is this correct

    Congratulations on wonderful growth and health!!! Do you have greys to cover? This has been my henna challenge on dark brown curly hair.

      Emma MacGregor You would need to add indigo as well. This is how I cover my gray hair. Hennasooq has videos on UA-cam as well on how to successfully cover gray. The products that are already mixed together say henna for dark brown hair aren’t the greatest for covering a lot or stubborn grays.

    🙌🏽Thank you so much for the time you have taken to produce this channel🙌🏽. Introducing henna into my hair care regimen has totally changed my type 4 hair. It is now more manageable, strong, thicker and more able to retain length as a result. Although I have been natural for 15 years, I never understood how to manage my hair, so kept it in braids. It grew long, but was thin, brittle and dry. Total transformation now as of 1 1/2 years ago. I use a full henna mask ever 4-5 weeks; glosses in between and infuse an oil to use on my scalp and to seal my hair. Thank you. 🙏🏽

    I started my henna/ayurveda journey 6mths ago and I'm sooo in love with the gloss and the tea spray!!!!! To already have thick hair and to visibly see it get thicker is a major plus. The oil is bomb as well....just watch every video and that's all you will ever need. I'm trying to be like @curlyproverbez down to my hips

    IDK if my hair is growing because of your suggestions or not but I do know that I've added henna and other ayurvedic powders to my deep conditioner as you've suggested and I experience little to no shedding or breakage. My hair always feels strong and my curl definition has improved significantly. I can actually do wash n gos now whereas in the past they just looked like a nappy fro! I will always add these powders to my conditioner. I have high porosity, color treated hair that is protein sensitive so I add a super moisturizing conditioner and leave in to balance everything out.

    Henna is the best! It's worth the work, especially if you have fine strands or naturally high porosity hair that's prone to breakage. I'm re-committing to being a henna head. I first learned about it from Curly Nikki. The best resources have been Curly Proverbz and Henna Sooq.

    How long should you deep condition your hair with henna?

    • @theabundantmama
      @theabundantmama 5 років тому +1

      I think it's a minimum of 4 hrs I just sleep with it in and rinse the next morning. It's in one of her videos how long you can go. She was extra one time and kept it in for 24 hrs. So it's up to you.
