Do you think you may have been using too much protein? In products etc? Last year was so rough for me, I was seeking more curl definition and thought I needed protein.. for some reason I started doing rice water, protein treatment, and unintentionally using products with proteins in it and my hair was not staying hydrated or moisturized and started to break!!! Now for about 2 months I’ve been deep conditioning once a week, do hot oil treatment once or twice in the month find one or two good moisturizers or leave In, apply after washing, put my hair in a loose bun and wear head wrap or turban.... I’ve noticed it’s starting to become softer, stay moisturized and hydrated... and less breakage...oftentimes less is better... I hope you figure out the perfect regimen for you !

@@123f89 for hot oil treatments you can try which ever oil you like .. I’ve done it with Olive oil, jojoba oil , coconut oil, (used them alone) or the Queen Helen Cholesterol hot oil treatment. Honestly I’m looking to try different ones to see what I would rather have as my go to, the Queen Helen seem to be better since I know it’s formulated to do what it says...
As far as leave in or moisturizers I use the Aunt Jackie’s daily leave in moisturizer (like a mint green color) or one of my favorites is the Taliah Wajid leave in coconut spray it’s really moisturizing, or I’ll use a little bit of Aussie conditioner as a leave in.
But again find what works for you and just stick to those same products for awhile and try not to mix so many different steps in your regimen. Once I wash and deep condition w/ hot oil or without, I just use the best moisturizer and put my hair up.. I stop doing wash and go’s for awhile too because the more I wore it out the more quickly it became dry. I understand some people say use water daily but sometime even that seem to dry my hair and make it weak...So right now while in recovery stage less is better that way you can understand what your hair truly needs and what it doesn’t like .if you find a good moisturizer leave in, humectant etc, it should work well enough so that you don’t have to spritz with water constantly... I truly hope this helps ! Sorry for the lengthy reply 😆

I have auto immune blood disorders and I have been diagnosed with everything under the sun. Let me tell you, eating clean is SOOOOO important. Also, everyone should be taking a chelated zinc, Vitamin D (5,000 IUs per day), methylated Vitamin B complex (mosquitos are attracted to those with B deficiencies), and ascorbic acid (aka vitamin C). We do not get enough from the foods that we eat (the quality of foods even organic) are depleted especially the moment we cook them. And we cannot get nearly the amount of vitamin D that we need from food alone so you have to supplement it. Also drink lots of water and go for walks. If you’re unhealthy, no amount of hair products will work. I do not take any medications.

I have MS an autoimmune disease and its great to take that much Vitamin D for people who have autoimmune diseases. You are seriously THE BOSS!
You are such a breath of fresh air and I LOVE listening to you! My hair has grown SO MUCH while implementing your methods. I did rock a wash and go today, and usually I where my hair out on Sundays for church too. But all the other days (most days) it is tucked away, honey! LOL
I'm starting to grow some gray now, so henna is out because I want to rock my curly gray hair. I'm going to have curly gray hair all the way down my back to my waist, and I do not care what people will say. I'm embracing this stage of my life and I so look forward to it.
Anyhow, the oils, deep conditioning once a week and essential oils have done wonders for my hair - and I'm a swimmer. My hydration internally and externally, exercise and nutrition - all is careful consideration. I am so thankful for your tips, tricks and advice. I hope no one is hating on you because you are wonderful and your energy is on point, your work ethic is obvious and you are passing on the knowledge and love WITH love! 💕 That is one of the reasons why you're fruitful.

Just wanted to say thank you for all of your years of videos on henna. I was using it but as a mask, and only like once every six months. I would get great growth for a few months then was back to square one. I would check out your videos occasionally for years but something was not clicking in my head.
Finally I just spent a whole day watching your videos back to back in December of 2020 and I finally fully understood you. I started doing a henna gloss every Sunday, & oiling my scalp 3-4 days a week with conditioner rinses in between. Now here I am at the end of March just touching waist length (might be longer, have to straighten to see).
So basically, what you say is the truth! This is coming from a type 4, high porosity hair type that breaks if you look at it wrong. Thank you again! And keep going, you are helping more than you know.

Word of Caution: be CAREFUL with protein/keratin. I ruined my hair by using an intense protein treatment consistently for 3 weeks. My hair kept getting more dry, more brittle, and started breaking off :( I didn't realize that my shampoo and conditioner also contained a ton of protein so I didn't even have protein-difficiency in the first place...I got the WORST protein overload. There's no way to reverse this damage. I will just have to be patient and start completely over, growing out my healthy hair :( I wish I'd paid more attention to warnings ugh. I have low porosity hair. Also, most shampoos and conditioners have keratin/protein/some form of strengthened; it's really hard to find products without protein in them.

Thank You for the encouragment! I'm awaiting my products and can not wait to try. I've been following your journey but when you speak on hormones I must say that I haven't any after a total hysterectomy. My hair was still growing but as of lately I was diagnosed with a brain stroke and the top of my head is so tender that the massages hurt but I try my best to work around it. As you were putting out videos, I was trying my best to incorporate what you do to my own hair and believe you me it was working outstandingly... But this last year with the coronavirus and then unable work and all of the time I now had on my hands, I was watching your videos more often and just the stress of not being able to get out the house and get to work, that I so desperately needed to do but now being able to focus on my hair it was just coming out! No matter what I did, even if I took my time in combed each strand very carefully it still popped and fell out! So now, i'm dealing with the stroke and recovery and I feel like I just want to cut it all off and start all over again. I'm finding strength in your videos and teachings as well as your products and the time and energy you put into it, is going to be the time and energy i'm going to dedicate to mine! Being 50 does not mean I cannot grow my hair... I'm going to try my best to get rid of the stress and follow all of the regimens, from vitamins, diet, and plenty of water all day! Again... Externally onion. Sounds crazy but it is true. You can add onion to a hot oil treatment. Some people use onion juice for an hour on wash days (cuz of the smell). Internally: Spirulina, Wheat Grass, & He Shou Wu (can be drank as a tea or made into a smoothy).

Are you sure it is gone. You shed 200 hairs a day, and you have not combed that shed hair out in two months. You were going to have a lot of shedding either way. If it is damage, it is more than likely from tension on hair that is too dry for too long. You could try adding 1 tablespoon of glycerine & 1 tablespoon of honey to your favorite conditioner (for moisture) + 1/4 teaspoon of henna (for strength) and sit under a bonnet dryer for 30 minutes once a week. And using her growth oil weekly.

Now I’m using coconut oil.. i wish I could use henna.. is there any other oil or products that I could use for hair on my gray hair for growth that won’t interfere with my gray?
