    The key ingredients Indians use are fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, hibiscus, aloevera, henna, coconut oil, castor oil, almond oil. One recipe that abosolutely works is boiling or infusing fenugreek seeds, aloevera stem, curry leaves, hibiscus flower and leaves in coconut oil. Boil it till all the ingredients turn black and then filter it and use it for oiling.

    I'm Indian and I have hair till my waist, I had a hair cut an year ago, had above shoulder length and my hair grew back to waist length in about 8-10 months.
    3 things I swear by is oil your hair( any oil that is available locally to you) every three days or even once a week.
    2. I use Reetha nuts and Shikakai to wash the oil off, but even shampoo is fine.
    3. I always use cold water on my hair, I bend my head under the tap .

    In the Caribbean we do this every Sunday! In the “ol’ days” it was a great way for all the grans, mums, aunts and daughters and female cousins and girlfriends to gather and share our weekly events and of course gossip 😉. We’d also teach each other new ‘platting’ (braiding) styles and techniques, especially to the younger girls. The men would disappear out the house to play dominos somewhere. God help the males who stuck around to ‘mess round’ with us! I so miss those days. Thank you for all your dedication and information. I’m a mixed Afro-Caribbean-Taino Indian-Puerto Rican chik with 3b -4b hair who’s older with disabilities and some hair loss. I’m trying to return to my roots and use more natural oils to treat my hair and hopefully grow it back healthy and long. Your channel is one of the most in-depth I’ve come across on using Indian oils. Thank you so much! Blessings!

    • @priscillasmith1713
      @priscillasmith1713 7 років тому +10

      I guess early graying can be genetic, but you should try antioxidants. Antioxidants help the body to detox irons, heavy metals from our bodies, which can contribute to graying. Think of a metal pipe laying outside. If you cut it in half, it will start to oxidize (rust). But if you do what you can to stop it from oxidizing, it will still oxidize, but at a slower pace. Hope this helps!

    I've been doing all of the oils and herbs you've suggested. Even been taking Fenugreek, Vitamin C, MSM, and Biotin for about 2 weeks now. While it's too soon to say I've had growth, I will say that my nails have never been this strong. They always grow very fast but now they are THICK! My hair definitely felt a bit dry after using all of the Ayurvedic herbs in the mask, but I deep conditioned and heavy oiled with coconut oil and that took care of it. Still see hair fall, but it is quite a bit less. I'm excited for my 90 days length check. Excellent advice! Thank you!!! You're amazing!

  • @dorapierres

    Probably the best video I've ever seen in my 10 years on UA-cam. I sincerely appreciate this! I've been at the same length for the last 3 to 4 years and I'm really discouraged. Discouraged to the point where I've been wanting to just chop all my hair off or relax my hair out of rage. I try not to let my length bother me because there are more important things in life, but, sometimes, I can't help but get really depressed about it. Especially when I see people who went natural a few years after me (I've been natural since 2010) but have so much more hair than I do. I feel like I do healthy things but maybe it's time to change up my routine. And being iron deficient, I need more of a boost than those who don't have that problem. I really want to try everything you said. Hopefully, I can get all the products once my financial situation gets better. This is the first video of yours I've seen. You just got a new subscriber!

HOWEVER, I do believe your original henna oil recipe (minus the msm and vitamin c and with the addition of green tea, nettle tea, peppermint tea, hibiscus tea, moringa powder, mustard seed, and sesame seed) have made a difference in my hair. I'm currently transitioning from a relaxer.
    Early in the summer before I started protective styling, my 6 months of new growth measured at 3inches. I was able to use the oil consistently because it was too heavy for my loose hair. Now at 9 months, my new growth is at 8 inches 😁👏🏾 There's a possibility that my new growth will be 10 inches after just 12 months of transitioning! I've just recently added my own version of the tea to my regimen 😉 thank you for these recipes!!!

    I'm natural (4c) and I did another mini chop in March 2017 because of heat damage. I was just doing way too much flat ironing. I started oiling my hair with Amla oil after just happening to come across it in a shop where I get my eyebrows done. I oil about 3 or 4 times a week and I've seen SO much difference just in a little over 2 months. It's also gotten much thicker. I'll definitely try incorporating the other ones u mentioned as well. Thank you!!

    This is awesome , I too had my scalp looked at , there were two things , even tho people think I have a lot of hair , not all my strands are growing out of my follicles , in other words I'm assuming they are clogged and I had mild dandruff , this made me so sad but I know it was true since then I did a lot of research and realized that you have to treat your scalp almost exactly like ur face , I'm a cosmetologist so of course I was sharing this with my clients too , although I'm not sure if people really understand how important this really is , another thing I learned is that you need to be eating enough nutritious food for your hair to grow , people think u should eat less but it's not always the case , also I wanted to ask u has ur hair ever gotten sore and what was the reason ? Thanks lol

    Ghanafo!!!! 🇬🇭 I never knew that some people in Ghana use hibiscus for hair. But my mom always says that a lot of Ghanaians’ hair grows better in Ghana than here. For one: consistent weather conducive to our hair. 2. Low manipulation - so many people go around with scarves or braids - extensions and their own hair - w/o work discrimination. 3. access to black soap and shea butter, which works wonders for our hair 4. more people go to salons bc they are cheaper over there and they get professional attention so if they relax, they rarely damage their hair. a lot of ppl try to do it here but they don’t do it professionally and then overprocess. So you see more ghanaians with longer hair in ghana than when they travel abroad.

    I'd like to see someone who has struggled to grow their earlobe length hair ALL of their lives and stumbled across this recipe and now their hair is on their tailbone. If you've had long hair all your life, relaxer or not, it kind of disqualifies you to talk about hair growth when it has NEVER been a struggle. Keep it real with the people especially those who have struggled all their lives to obtain strong healthy long hair.

    • @GooGoo0213
      @GooGoo0213 7 років тому

      Shelia T Please consider the practices she recommends are simply that, recommendations. They merely supplement and enhance healthy hair practices. I humbly recommend you try one or two for yourself and be that earlobe hair length beauty whose testimony is I grew my hair waistlength (or whatever your desired goal is). Also, please check out Kimmay tube videos on UA-cam. She's not into Ayurveda per se but her testimony is that she's always had a teeny weeny afro (twa) most of her life and after some researching and reading scientific hair publications, twice she has grown her hair to her waist...her videos chronicle her journey. Its not our hair that the problem, its what we put on it and/or do to it (including health issues) that prevents it from blossoming in most cases.
