    This casual stroll through something I'd never consider (making Voronoi from scratch? When there's a perfectly good node that does it for me?) was literally one of the best tutorials I have ever seen online. Instant subscribe. You explain everything perfectly! Thank you for posting!

      @@JohnnyHalcyon3D recently I've been studying making stylized foliage, so last time I went to Chipotle, I was looking at all the plants in the parking lot and taking pictures and plucking a few leaves. I have no idea how id explain what I was doing to the police or someone not in 3D lmao. This guy collects leaves or something, what a weirdo!

    I rarely find videos like this sir! Voronoi is the only noise which I can identify rest of them looks same to me like Perlin, Gabor, Gaussian. It is my request please cover these topics as well. And thanks for providing paid content for free! ❤

    The sun's plasma also makes a Voronoi pattern up-close.
    I usually like to use the Tile Generator over the Tile Sampler, since the former is faster and a bit easier to use. But the more I lean about the Tile Sampler, the more I think I should default to it unless I'm sure I don't need the extra control.
    Thank you for another great Substance Designer video, by the way.

    • @JohnnyHalcyon3D
      @JohnnyHalcyon3D  Рік тому

      Sampler just lets you drive attributes with other textures (and theres some other small difference) generally you should pick the one you need and not just default to one or the other so you're not overpaying or limiting yourself, either way

      Very true. I'll have to learn more about those nodes so I know when best to use them.

      I'll definitely get into animated materials - my hesitancy there is they arent rendering in real time (for the most part) but it is fun to do - it is absolutely on the list

    Is it possible to do something like this in painter? If so, how? Btw, I have the whole 3D collection, but I haven’t learned designer yet.

    • @JohnnyHalcyon3D

      No not really, but you absolutely can make this as a tool in designer to use in painter
