    Solitude is ADDICTIVE.
The peace, quiet, freedom, self growth productivity and complete anonymity that you will experience are very hard to let go of once you’ve known them.
It makes you see everything else differently.
I could spend weeks without seeing or talking to another human being and be completely content.
    Love the vid.

Hey Travis. Great video. I’m 57, ER doctor, married, and this video really resonated with me. I have a good marriage of 22 yrs, but I absolutely love my alone time, or alone time with my dog. Alone time is what energizes me. I too have no problem sitting at a restaurant by myself when my wife is working. And I actually love going to movies by myself. I couldn’t care less what other people think about it. As the years pass, I just have less tolerance for people in general. When I am alone, I have space. I can breathe. I can decompress. Thanks for this video.

Deep down I think I was always happiest being alone, but when I was younger getting with someone was what you did. After 40 years of marriage, my wife divorced me (long story) and have now been on my own for 3 years. No kids, no real friends. But, I have never been happier. There is something about self reliance, building confidence, learning how to look after one's self alone which has been something of a pleasant surprise. Freedom to do as I wish...when, where, how...and have only my self to answer to. I love my life now and living in the present. Thanks for your thoughts my friend.

Now I'm old. When I was younger from time to time I would feel lonely. And oddly those times didn't coincide with actually being alone. But as I got older I felt no longer invested in friendship. I don't have anything against it it's just a general lack of interest. I don't get lonely. Other people are annoying. Why are they always talking about nothing? And at the same time they have no listening skills. Give up on saying anything beyond two sentences they'll interrupt because it's a verbal competition. Loud mouths win. On the other hand there's my cats. They're the best. They're all fluffy and cute n stuff.

My fear of being alone led me to make choices that at times compromised my integrity. This inevitably led to resentment towards the very people and activities I engaged in to avoid loneliness in the first place.
Now, at 46, I’m empty nesting and beginning to experience the vastness and wealth of solitude 😊. A new found freedom, joy and peace 🕊️ - a treasure found on the other side of the illusory curtain of fear of loneliness. A profound transformation that I’m grateful to be able to experience in this lifetime!
Most of my friends and family don’t get this state of mind. They are still clinging and not realizing that it is this “clinging” to people places and things, that’s causing their suffering.

I lost my job this past April; so i decided to go spend time in Florida visiting my siblings and all their children.
I went alone, no wife, no kids (they are grown but live with us). Something very scary happened: all my siblings were busy going about their lives, so I was basically alone for the vast majority of my trip.. here’s the scary part; I enjoyed that week more than any other week in my life (and we’ve traveled to many places as a family). But I enjoyed just being alone so much that it scared me to death. I find myself longing for more alone time, and not a day or two

I reside in Texas and drive to Colorado once per year to camp for two weeks and trout fish in the mountains. Gives me alone time. I am a Merchant Marine and don't get much alone time on a ship, so I cherish it when I get it.

I live in the mountains of Montana and really enjoy it. And because I love looking at nature the trees the animals and everything none human. I am never alone. If I want to hike for many miles any time of the day or go out hiking around at night with a flashlight. Or do nothing at all I have nobody bothering me adking me to go to some place I do not want to go. Go visit people I could care less of seeing but acting like I am having a good time. It is not for everyone which is good because then if it was I would have neighbors all around me. And could not be alone even living in the mountains. 😊

@TravisDoingLife I have been to many places on this planet. Many different states and countries. But living in the mountains of Montana for me is the best. Not physically easy if the weather goes bad sometimes in the winter. But still would be rather trapped on a mountain with a nice wood stove going watching the deer and other animals that come and sit by my home out the window. Then shovel out a driveway in a city anytime with the lovely snowplow trucks giving that extra snow at the end of it. And watch and hearing all the cars. And definitely not a life to be with a wife complaining about every little thing driving me nuts and wishing she would shut up and go away and leave me alone.😱😊

I almost was ready to move in with a girl over the summer and was bummed when it ended. Looking back i really dodged a bullet. I'm a diy speaker builder and have all my stereo equipment and speakers and I would have had to get rid of them because there was no room. Also I love to eat healthy and workout and she said why do you have to look perfect your not single and she eats like shit has no healthy food in her fridge. I would be so miserable giving up my own place after the honeymoon was over
