You won't believe this german shepherd rescue dogs amazing reaction when he sees the ocean for his very first time. After being chained up for about 5 years and then sent to a shelter Rocky Kanaka from Save Our Shelter is now giving him a second chance on life.

Big German Shepherds like Herschel often struggle to get adopted because they can come off as aggressive or overwhelming. This GSD though is a loving guy that just needs some work so I selected him as a candidate for Dog's Day Out by Rocky Kanaka. On #DogsDayOut I take a dog out on the best day they have ever had. In Herschel's case it was a success. With the video going viral and millions of people seeing it hundreds of people submitted applications and now he has his perfect forever family. To get him from Los Angeles California to Washington State we are taking him on a road trip and meeting his new furever family in Redding California. What got me to almost tears, is the way he stared at you while you were driving. Man, you could feel the love emanating from this beautiful creature !
A Sicari Alright , I know some ppl from Russia who take digital pictures ran through a software that sees people's aura ..Ancient Hindu knew about that thousands years ago. We walk 10K -20K a day and i feel like i am Goddess with two big dogs one leashed to each hand. Everyone driving smiles and waves. you can explain the dog by one moment in the video . When they're driving and his head is on that protective cover for back seats. The look at the dogs face is what real happiness feels like. At this moment the dog doesn't care about anything. his American Dream is to be with his human : white,black, poor, rich, handicapped, mute, homeless - none of it matters . Show me any human being who would've done that for his friend? People never see a care of this level from their family members most of the times. I

Majority of dog are innocent there are dogs that are not. No matter how much we love and try to humanize them (and I do, my pic of my 6 month old pup) they are still animals....domesticated but an animal none the less.

I've been rescuing GSDs for 21 years and, yes, I get tired and frustrated seeing all these wonderful dogs in shelters (and surrendered by their owners) BUT what keeps me going is what your video shows. GSDs are very difficult puppies. I have a one year old and he's making my life extremely difficult. I did rescue him & was told he'd be only 40lbs (he's a mix) & he's over 80 already & I'm disabled. I almost re-homed him but couldn't bear to give him up. I'm hoping he'll grow out of these bad behaviors. I know GSDs are wonderful dogs & am sticking by him to make it work. I love him so much & working so hard on discipline. I hope this one is happy forever!

Hard to believe anyone would tap a 'Thumbs down' Absolute beauty...if he had not been adopted I would have driven out there to get her myself. A terrible shame there are humans that do not see the beauty and love in animals. Thank you to who ever found him and set his soul free. @Dr. M. H. -I have owned a few not so cute dogs and cats. Each one had something special about them that stole my heart. All should have a great life with someone that loves them. BTW I had a couple that were really dumb. They over looked my faults so I didn't mine theirs. I look back at all my friends that are gone and still miss them all. Where else do you have friends that love you no matter what you do? Hope I can out live my last adopted 9 yr. old Chihuahua. He is deaf but sticks by me and seems to love me. Not a beauty but he is his own little guy. We help each other. I gave him a home and he gives me a reason to get up. Thanks for reminding everyone that they do not have to be cute or pretty to deserve a good home!

I disliked because this dude clearly doesn't know how to treat dogs, first he gives him the worst food and drinks he could give, then he tortures him by letting him see the ocean while not letting him off the leash. I took my boyfirend and our dog to see the ocean for the first time last new year's day and he had almost the same reaction.. he laughed and ran across the beach for two hours, losing his phone in the proces and not realizing for who knows how long.. we found it later.. but it has been such a joy to show him why my heart aches so much for not living somewhere near the sea.. I am always completely destroyed when I need to go away and leave the ocean behind and now he finally understands.. and this german shepperd has joined the club :) ♡

She likes it better cause she can sit out front and watch people and talk to them as they walk by. She also gets lots of walks, runs, and belly rubs...so whatever, tell me I am evil for putting her on a chain.

We had to put a friend down in Nov, 2023...Kaiser, our sweet GSD rescue. He, too, had nubs for teeth from the chains...K9s completely gone. I'm grateful the last four years of his life were carefree and filled with love and attention. This video brought me tears.

I had a germanshephard for 15 year and he died almost two years ago. Every day is a struggle to want to get up. My retired military husband died three months later. Seeing this brought back some wonderful memories when I took him to the ocean. Cherish every moment you have with his dog it goes fast. Kim.

Same....I have 2 rescue doggos who both adore the beach and drive my hubby nuts from the moment he gets home until they get onto the sand.....following him around and tripping him up until their collars go on and theyre in the car.

@@sadily That's great to hear. I rescue feral cats where I live because there's no SPCA here. I've managed to rescue & rehome about 100 cats & a few dogs in the last couple years. I'm hoping to start making & putting up little videos on my own YT channel this year. It's too cold right now to film, but I go out every night and feed homeless cats. They need to eat to help them stay warm.

I’m watching this beside my German shepherd and I’m almost in tears, they are one of the most reliable dogs and it breaks my heart that someone would put him in chains and neglect him. I’m so happy he is happy now 🥺❤️

I disliked because this dude clearly doesn't know how to treat dogs, first he gives him the worst food and drinks he could give, then he tortures him by letting him see the ocean while not letting him off the leash. How would you feel if I took u to the movies, but u had to wait outside while were were going in?
