Hi! My friend came across this video last night and texted it to me. I was so pleased to see you visited Wilber (I only knew him as Draco). I was the one that found him as he wandered onto my front door back on 12/17. I was devastated when I found the zip tie around his neck and was so angry and extremely upset! He was the sweetest and I called LEAF everyday until I found out he was adopted. I was hoping to visit him when he was in better shape and have my daughter who was with me that awful day to see him when he wasn’t in so much pain. I was happy to hear he got adopted and was in a warm home for Christmas . Thank you for what you do! I’m sure he was so scared.

Keep up with the pupdates. We live in an area with a huge outbreak of stray and abandoned cats and no real help from the county due to lack of funds and rescues and volunteers. I pray this changes soon

There needs to be consequences for animal abuse! Dont let the owner get away with cruelty. Also can there be a home check for other possibly abused pets? This could be a backyard breeding operation. Love you Wilbur ❤

Wilbur is part papillon, based on his ears. He is a perfect dog, though. You could tell by his wagging tail, even in his confusion. He'll make a wonderful companion dog.
The way he was falling asleep when you were stroking the top of his head was wonderful! What a lovely little dog! Sending him all the love and cuddles he deserves!
One of the big differences between a Rocky video and other animal abuse videos is that Rocky also counsels us through the rage and sadness that flare in us over stories like these. It makes it so much easier to not just turn the video off. Lots of love for Wilbur! May his future be purely pampering!❤❤❤
I guess I can't help it, but when I watch these videos, the first thing I think of is how dysfunctional that family is and wonder whether it's the adults or children who are the abusers.
I watch ,because there is always a happy ending, when they show how healthy and loved they become..it’s the story how they found them and how they become healthy again. BUT I believe there are some stories that are NOT real. Like some Chanel’s finds this beautiful small little dog in a box, and they take it to the vet, and so on.. when I see videos like that, I don’t watch them, because I’m pretty sure people make the little dogs all dirty, take them home and bathe them…etc I don’t believe them, AND they always ask for money. The internet are full of not really good people, and they do anything to make money..I only donate if it’s a real thing, like this one here, hope for paw and another few ones that I watch 🐶🤎🦴🌹
Oh absolutely I mean I’ve seen a video where a woman was petting this dog that was screaming bloody murder because it had been abused to the point where any slight touch would make it scream and after a while this dog was calmly laying in this woman’s arms and even talking about that video makes me sad and unbelievably angry

So true! I went to therapy to learn how to regulate my emotions. While watching the video, I was weeping - I'm a softy when it comes to dogs and cats...and horses and birds and squirrels and chipmunks, and raccoons...😃

Seeing how he greeted you with a wagging tail, I never would’ve guessed he was abused. It’s such a testament to his amazing behavior and his ability to forgive humans. I can only hope Wilbur finds the unconditional love that he deserves. What a beautiful little soul! 🥰

He does look very spaniel-like and if he is that might go some way to explain it. Especially the smaller ones are often really lovely dogs who just thrive on affection. The main exception is cocker spaniels, which are *mostly* like that, but some have an extremely aggressive streak, I'm assuming from poor breeding for appearance rather than temperament. There's a reason toy spaniels are popular lap dogs!
This situation made me sit and cry. This poor little helpless animal with a freaking zip tie around his neck! He could have died. I pray he does NOT go back to his previous home. He deserves a loving sweet family. Wow Rocky, this one hit me hard and I never miss your videos. Thank you for what you do by showing these dogs that not all humans are a$$holes and some people do care and have a big heart for animals. He is simply adorable….love the name Wilbur. My favorite book growing up was Charlottes Web, Wilbur was the star of the book. Thank you and your wife for being such wonderful humans. 💜💜💜💜

Head shaking how many dogs in shelters are so mis-marked for what they actually are. Giving ppl the wrong impressions & may be costing them a shot, b/c of them not wanting a ‘sheph Mix, or PB mix, or any bully mix for a dog. So many mis categorized. SMH I’m glad it was decided he was probably a spaniel mix, b/c that’s certainly what he is. I immediately thought King Cavalier mix. With a Papillon, is a good guess as to his mix. If he goes back to those abusers, that will be another crime against that poor, gentle & loving boy. How could that even be considered???🤮 I pray his problems are all treatable & he finds his safe, loving, forever family, soon. ♥

Wilbur warmed to Rocky straight away, and taking the treats, even feeling swollen and sore, what a dear little fella he is. I love it when Rocky scooped him up. 💕
I cannot stop crying about Wilbur and what those “animals” did to him. Just really sick people. No matter what their story is there no reason to hurt a poor innocent being who cannot even defend himself. Laws have to be stronger (if there even are laws) so that this never happens again. Rocky you are a Godsend for what you do for these dogs.

My first kitty was abused. When love finally broke through the fear she was the most tolerant, polite baby I've ever met. (She hid during the daytime for the first month.) And dogs are faster to forgive than cats, imo!
I agree he looks like a Papillon Spaniel cross. I have a friend who rescues Papillons, and she has handled several spaniel Papillon cross furfriends who are now adopted out... excellent temperaments, very cute and sweet. This little boy is obviously going to be much loved by his new mama...❤

Finding out about the zip tie made me ugly cry. Wilbur is such a pretty and sweet boy; he doesn't deserve what he went through. I wish I could adopt him, but I can't. But what I can do is send him all of my love.
Randy, please keep us updated on Wilbur's condition. Angry? I'm furious that this sweet soul had to suffer so. Paws crossed for Wilbur's quick recovery and houseful of love, great food and hiking.
Oh, I am so happy that Wilbur was immediately adopted! Hearing the awful way that he had been treated, and seeing his resilient spirit and willingness to reach out and engage regardless, just sealed him in my heart, too. I pray for he full recovery. A little jealous, because, like many , if not most, I wanted to scoop him up and care for him for his life. I am excited for Wilbur and his new mom, I am praying that their life together will be blessed and filled with love and joy!

Like *Asher House* in Oregon. Lee rescues and adopts dogs, cats, *llamas,* horses, pigs, and even a parrot (temporarily)! He has a massive, fenced-in property with fields and a river, where he takes the 90 or so dogs, of all abilities, for daily walks and a swim. His animals are so happy!

I can see you were struggling to keep your cool with this dog. But Rocky, this is why you are needed. The energy and love you give off toward these furbabies is healing for them. They can’t tell you, but they will show you. He did when he got in your lap and let you in.

Some of those animal abuse videos are by the people abusing the animals setting up the animal for youtube views so beware

He does look very spaniel-like and if he is that might go some way to explain it. Especially the smaller ones are often really lovely dogs who just thrive on affection. The main exception is cocker spaniels, which are *mostly* like that, but some have an extremely aggressive streak, I'm assuming from poor breeding for appearance rather than temperament. There's a reason toy spaniels are popular lap dogs!

This situation made me sit and cry. This poor little helpless animal with a freaking zip tie around his neck! He could have died. I pray he does NOT go back to his previous home. He deserves a loving sweet family. Wow Rocky, this one hit me hard and I never miss your videos. Thank you for what you do by showing these dogs that not all humans are a$$holes and some people do care and have a big heart for animals. He is simply adorable….love the name Wilbur. My favorite book growing up was Charlottes Web, Wilbur was the star of the book. Thank you and your wife for being such wonderful humans. 💜💜💜💜

We have a Wilbur in our family too. But we would never use zip ties on him. This little papillon mix deserves a wonderful new family.
The level of hostility, that’s an understatement. But the fact that he survived abuse like that, and you know that Has to be painful with that level of swelling, and yet he is still so sweet, is a testament to his character!

Head shaking how many dogs in shelters are so mis-marked for what they actually are. Giving ppl the wrong impressions & may be costing them a shot, b/c of them not wanting a ‘sheph Mix, or PB mix, or any bully mix for a dog. So many mis categorized. SMH

Wilbur warmed to Rocky straight away, and taking the treats, even feeling swollen and sore, what a dear little fella he is. I love it when Rocky scooped him up. 💕
I cannot stop crying about Wilbur and what those “animals” did to him. Just really sick people. No matter what their story is there no reason to hurt a poor innocent being who cannot even defend himself. Laws have to be stronger (if there even are laws) so that this never happens again. Rocky you are a Godsend for what you do for these dogs.

My first kitty was abused. When love finally broke through the fear she was the most tolerant, polite baby I've ever met. (She hid during the daytime for the first month.) And dogs are faster to forgive than cats, imo!

I agree he looks like a Papillon Spaniel cross. I have a friend who rescues Papillons, and she has handled several spaniel Papillon cross furfriends who are now adopted out... excellent temperaments, very cute and sweet. This little boy is obviously going to be much loved by his new mama...❤

Oh, I am so happy that Wilbur was immediately adopted! Hearing the awful way that he had been treated, and seeing his resilient spirit and willingness to reach out and engage regardless, just sealed him in my heart, too. I pray for he full recovery. A little jealous, because, like many , if not most, I wanted to scoop him up and care for him for his life. I am excited for Wilbur and his new mom, I am praying that their life together will be blessed and filled with love and joy!

Like *Asher House* in Oregon. Lee rescues and adopts dogs, cats, *llamas,* horses, pigs, and even a parrot (temporarily)! He has a massive, fenced-in property with fields and a river, where he takes the 90 or so dogs, of all abilities, for daily walks and a swim. His animals are so happy!

Wow - I’m in tears after hearing what this poor pup has been through. I’m so thankful and grateful for everything done by you, your team, animal control and every rescue/shelter. I can see you were struggling to keep your cool with this dog. But Rocky, this is why you are needed. The energy and love you give off toward these furbabies is healing for them. They can’t tell you, but they will show you. He did when he got in your lap and let you in.
