Thank you all for being so patient with getting this video out! It was a massive project and I hope you all enjoy seeing all the footage condensed a bit into a long video rather than multiple videos. I am so pleased with how the guards (and the video!) came out, it pushed my skills and the finished result speaks for itself. It's been a while since the last video and UA-cam will punish me for that, so a like and a share is much appreciated!! Enjoy the video!
Really good idea dude. Subtle look, & better looking than brush guards. And the longer videos are definitely welcome, your home garage fabrication work is an inspiration to other owners who have limited space like yourself.
Hiya mate, even if you’re not up to making a full video update, I think it’d be awesome if you could do a community post showing how the beater truck and Hundy are doing. This is the channel I always come back to every time I’m looking at buying a discovery
Hello from the states. Great work Tim, awesome video. Love to see the progress and all the hard work you and Ilsa did. You should be proud of your great results and an awesome video. Can't wait to see the next episode. You guys keep up the great work.
Looks great!! @26:17 it looks like the tap is getting quite tight, if you do a 1/4 -1/2 turn back out every 1 turn in it will cut off the burr that is forming and make it easier to tap in and you can focus on driving it in straight
Mate looks bloody good!Nicely presented and has given me ideas for my Jeep build. The first video inspired me to get my ass into gear and get into it. I can say it passed an Ashley river run over the weekend with flying colours. Look foward to more videos to come - Josh
That's a super nice job! They look amazing and fit the look. It does need gun metal or just a black paint but that's the easy part👌🏼 nice job😍 Longer format to see more of your work in detail is appreciated!
Top Job, bit more substantial than the moulded plastic tat that we see And get in the UK. Mine fitted by the previous owner, fell off, was only held in with self tappers. Now have conveyor belt rubber on, it bends or rips the rivets out, when I kiss a tree or the ground. No structural damage.🙂. Owning a order landrover is all about been a individual, rather than been in a herd of donkeys..., sorry jeeps 🤣. Love the content, 👍
Love your backyard work...real cool work, and lots of it...yer mad and that's cool, and you are very lucky to have a woman like Ilsa (sp) beside you...she must be mad too🤣
Looks excellent Tim and Ilsa!!! Unique I would say! Your ideas and engineering are superb!! I spy the HD rear bumper under Lando, so the Beater truck must be receiving more love soon!! Get it done!! More Monday uploads please. Also, when is Matt coming back?? Legend!
Thanks! And yep, that along with more goodies are coming up in the next episode! Soon hopefully, right now the focus is on the beater however! We’ll be taking a look at his build later in the year!
I think yous done a brilliant job of it 👍🏻 and appreciate your sharing and dedication that goes into creating something different and the content you put together 🙏 Thanks
This discovery will look crazy different when dun one of a kind Interested to see what you will do on the rear I personally like my brush bars on some cars not all look good with it them I will agree But this looks pretty dan cool aswell You should open shop on these custom parts you make Carnt wait to see the before and after shots when finished
@@Crawlerer79 yeah definitely where the support is. Its in a better spot to take load over scrubs that are bolted at bullbar and sidestep. I never ran scrubs on my old 4.8 Gu. I did on my 1990 hilux and they paid for themselves couple times. My current Gu has scrubs but keeping it low key touring more than tough tracks. After seeing your work when i get to the stage of a tough build again id definitely go your option over scrubs.
Looks awesome. I got my first ever Disco a week ago. Love it so far but it really needs a locker. What's the cheapest option of getting a locker in it?
It definitely will but im not sure its even certifiable because of modifying the crush points. Im also wondering if he’s planning on keeping it on the road (legally 😂)
Thanks! And yes, technically any welding to any structural component of a vehicle requires cert. You can modify crash structures such as crumple zones once the vehicle is 15 years old if okayed by your cert man first

Really good idea dude. Subtle look, & better looking than brush guards.
And the longer videos are definitely welcome, your home garage fabrication work is an inspiration to other owners who have limited space like yourself.
Thanks mate, really appreciate it!
Hope everyone is doing well mate looking forward to another video once you get the chance to edit some new footage 👍🏻
Mate, that looks epic!! Great work, I love these sort of projects.
Thats how off road vehicle bumpers & side steps began.
Guys DIY welding pipe into bumpers & steps.
!
Looks unreal mate! Good job 👌🏼 I’m keen to see what you do with the rear now
Thanks! The rear is going to be similar, however I have some spicy plans for the back that need to be completed before tackling said rear guards!
Hiya mate, even if you’re not up to making a full video update, I think it’d be awesome if you could do a community post showing how the beater truck and Hundy are doing.
This is the channel I always come back to every time I’m looking at buying a discovery
Also, it’d be awesome to know how you’re doing as well

It looks very cool! I'm looking forward to how you'll make the rear wheel arches!
Mate looks bloody good!Nicely presented and has given me ideas for my Jeep build. The first video inspired me to get my ass into gear and get into it. I can say it passed an Ashley river run over the weekend with flying colours. Look foward to more videos to come - Josh

Great job love it . I have stock D2 myself. Always looking at new ideas.
That’s a lot of work bro! I would have used seam sealer around that join with the guard.
Awesome wheel guards. Congratulations
That's a super nice job! They look amazing and fit the look. It does need gun metal or just a black paint but that's the easy part👌🏼 nice job😍
Longer format to see more of your work in detail is appreciated!

Sure! Flick me a message on Instagram @timparkin19
Really enjoyed the video mate. Inspired 👌🏻
Well done looks savage👍
Круто.. Жду следующего видео
good work mate i like the longer video 🤙💯
Looks awesome mate 👌. Definitely neater than scrubbies and better than nothing.
Thanks! To be honest, I reckon they should be stronger than scrubbies, nothing worse than seeing scrubbies fold in and still push a guard in!
@@Crawlerer79 yeah definitely where the support is. Its in a better spot to take load over scrubs that are bolted at bullbar and sidestep.

Where are ya Tim? I hope all is well! Would love to see some more content.
Rust-Oleum antique pewter is a pretty good darker metallic gun metal kinda colour

Tonight!!!
Looks wicked longer video still isn't long enough 😂 love the content brother
Haha cheers mate!
Awesome 😎
Love your work mate! Cheers for sharing! Any issues passing wofs with that guards?
Nice job . ;)
Looks awesome. I got my first ever Disco a week ago. Love it so far but it really needs a locker. What's the cheapest option of getting a locker in it?
Nice! Cheapest option is a TRE locker from Aliexpress, or a Detroit auto locker. Have seen both work well
Your gonna need to do the rear now
When the next video of this D2
Be awesome to see it finished
Yay trucks!!! ❤
Love the guards and longer video. One question does the welding to body affect wof and require cert?
It definitely will but im not sure its even certifiable because of modifying the crush points. Im also wondering if he’s planning on keeping it on the road (legally 😂)
Thanks! And yes, technically any welding to any structural component of a vehicle requires cert. You can modify crash structures such as crumple zones once the vehicle is 15 years old if okayed by your cert man first
Did you need to get it certified for the fender work when you trim it to fit bigger wheels?
Will need to be certed if I decide to keep it road legal
hey man. looking to make some tube flares for my rig. what bender is that looks sick as
