Shuttle valve bypass is such a quick win. The saving grace with a td5 is that it's all been done before. Well done though. Get a CDL actuator and it'll be mint.
Absolutely! Electrics can be a pain in the butt, but also nice knowing someone else has already faced the same issues! CDL lever will be a happening thing soon
I think we get caught up in the moment too much that we overlook just how fun it is to take a standard vehicle (in this case, TD5 D2) out and about, and just drive it! Sure, it will never be as capable as modified vehicles, but how bad can it be? D2s are pretty good in stock form really. I've literally spent 2 years rebuilding a D2a V8 in my back yard without a hoist, and it was one of my life accomplishments IMO. Its now 3x locked and ready for action, and I cant wait to get it out and about, but I regret not just spending a year or so driving it around in stock form. Love the vids, D2 for life!! I prefer the V8 though ;)
So true! I actually have another TD5 D2 which I haven’t shown on the channel and I’ve taken it wheeling all around the South Island bone stock, and it goes amazingly well! Definitely easy to get carried away and overbuild a truck and then struggle to find anything that’s a challenge. Thank you!
Haha yep, all too familiar with it! Plans for this truck is to make it into a trailer truck in the nearish future however, so looking forward to not needing to worry!
Hey mate been watching your videos for a while I’m visiting ashburton and would love to come and do a meet and greet. I have a 300tdi Land Rover that I’ve been slowly doing up
Still works perfectly. All it is is bypassing the power supply that goes through the pump, instead providing direct external power. Doesn’t affect the functionality or safety at all, was very important to me to keep the TC as it is very effective, makes open doffs not such a handicap!
Hey, a while back, I saw a video of yours where you were installing a winch plate on your buddy's Disco. Did you ever sell any of those? Any chance you'd want to? I'd likely buy one to start my winch bumper...
That project got popped on pause for a while, however started back on it recently, should be for sale soon! You’ll see them on the channel when they’re out 👍
Glad to see the old 300tdi doing what they do best, recovering other vehicles. I love mine,
Make sure you relocate the ecu out of the engine bay as they don’t like water and check for oil in the injector harness and red plug
On the list of jobs!

I had a td5. Nearly drove me mad. Great fourby though. Keep up the great work!
Cheers! They can be a right pain if you get a lemon but if you buy right, they are awesome wagons ay! Thank you!
Result! Good job getting the old girl back to legal. I look forward to seeing what you do next.
Thanks! Can confirm, it’s already looking a lot different! Next video will be out soon!
Fun video. Like the old LR
That bittersweet feeling of getting an old car a WoF, knowing you’ll have to go through it all again in 6 months time 😂

It's a landrover, nothing more to be said 😊. I've had 3
New garage Tim? Looking forward to seeing the mods start!
Just in the house garage rather than the shed as it was busy!
Good stuff!
Парень молодец дал вторую жизнь этому Дискавери.
I have the same issue . I spliced mine an it didn't fix it . Had me stumped for months. So cut wire and join an leave out wire that goes to pump. .
Love you vids mate 💪🤙🤠

Hoping to do a subscriber meet soon, just need a running truck again!
Love those things, too bad they are not that dependable. 4Running now myself…
Selwyn river, it's a fun place to 4wd which I did many years ago. Td5 nice but doesn't sound as good as Lando's V8 🙂
Once the TD5 has an exhaust on it, I think they sound just as good as a V8… controversial I know! The smooth 5 cylinder growl is hard to beat
By doing the shuttle valve bypass, does TC still work? Or does the bypass disable TC?

@@Crawlerer79 Awesome, sounds good. I'll try to hold off until they're available. Seems like a solid start for a bumper.
Oh no you made her get stuck lol I guess with the Three Amigos and no CDL we got one wheel spinning jk
Don't bother. QC was non existent on these old clunkers. Not worth the trouble.
