First few things I would purchase 1. Standard steel rims from the same model vehicle 2. Good quality A/T tyres 245/75R16 3. Advanced off-road driving course Just these 3 things will probably give you more enjoyment and better capabilities then most try-hard 4WD owners, and a lot less money.
Im buying a d2 td5 in a few months and im eventually swapping the chassis to a d1 one with all the fruit in the drivline and fit the d2 body and td5 it all lines up only need to add 2inch bodylift blocks at the back and customise the rear bumper mount done best of both worlds 👌🏻
Hello from the other side of the pond. Thank you for your share, its becoming harder to find items you shared today without info like you shared because of the D2s age, however the D2 is the best I have owned. I like the fact about the door's. I can hang myself out the window and have such a good view of what is in front of my wheel. I can't do that with my Range Rover 2012 Sport HSE.. The RR is another excellent 4×4 I just like the frame better on my D2s and there is less electronics's, that's an issue that becomes a bigger problem being off road. Hey thanks again, you know I believe the Land Rover has really set the standards on four wheeling BUT they electronics's is an issue and I think England needs to come home with the Land Rover Product. Germany isn't really doing the product its do. Also the Land Rover Dealership where I live will not support or work on any thing older than ten years old its as though their pushing a disposable Vic lighter idea, I can tell you Dodge will not do that so what's up with that. That would be a good thing to take on to you tube and talk about. So that Land Rover die hards can get started on challenging the brand name over that. I'm suite you understand. 😃🚙 Let's keep our roads open and I will not eat bugs and be forced not to own a a truck or car or stand and live in the atmosphere of a fifteen minute city. LoL
I personally wouldve said a CDL selector if the disco 2 in question has a cdl in the transfer case would be the best upgrade to do first Snorkel, extended breathers and either water proof the ecu or move it into the cab
Wheel spacers probably more orientated to off-road but think the extended arches are a worthy addition for overlanding. Ladder is a must have don't you agree?
These are £99 plus Tax on the website, made by Mantec www.lrparts.net/lr302b-mantec-branded-30mm-black-alloy-wheel-spacers-for-discovery-2-and-range-rover-p38-set-of-four-hub-centric-wheel-spacers.html
it depends a lot on your locality. Some states here in the US have made spacers illegal. I think Massachusetts comes to mine. I personally would never run spacers due to the strain on the bearings.
5 years running spacers on my '04 Disco with no issues. I usually have my mechanic thoroughly check over my rig before I go on a long off road trip, and he's never noticed any problems with the spacers.
so don't listen to this guy, first mods, 2 inch terrafirma lift, or OME if you want, 235/85/r16's or 265/75r16's, CDL kit for D2 owners, inline thermostat for V8s, upgraded steering stabilizer, maybe a snorkle, but these have a lot of wading without one, steel rear bumper for extra departure angle, and a low profile winch bumper and winch so you have self recovery abilites, after that go ahead and put spacers and arches and ladders and racks and lights.
Wheel spacers is probably the best thing I've added to my '04 Disco. Definetly a game-changer for turning radius.
Thanks for the video!
I'd add another great bit of kit for any older Land Rover is a Nanocom Evolution diagnostic tool.

The absolute first upgrade any Disco 2 owner should have is the Inline Thermo Mod.
What is that?
Never heard of it so what is it
Something I'm looking at doing soon.
@@OCMike night and day my friend, night and day. I suggest purchasing their silicone gasket.
isn't that for the v8's? in the UK we mainly have diesels

Never use wheel spacers puts extra load on the bearings just get more offset rims looks better aswell 👌🏻
Most important mod is to violently hack off the back box
5 Things to improve a disco for off road or overland and you pick wheel spacers and extended arches 😂

thanks for the video, how can i get the wheel spacers for my disco 2 in Uganda, Africa?
LRparts can ship to Uganda
The 2 piece snorkel look like it was slightly bigger in cross section area if it is that would be less restrictive
Great video! Any chance your list would be different for a Disco 1? Thanks!
Most of those upgrades are relevant for both but we'll focus on the Disco 1 soon.
Interesting video thank you. What is the price on the spacers and who supplies them?

Wheel spacers put a lot of strain on Axel's bearings and wheel nuts, also they are illegal!
They are legal but you should choose hub centric wheel spacers to distribute the load correctly. We'll be fitting some in the next few weeks.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA

Yeah 100% wheel spacers on 4wd here in Australia are illegal af...

zero reason for your first mod to be a wheel arch, just about everything else should come first
