The Dodge pickup and 2 1/2 ton trucks were just too big for the trails. They couldn't handle the turns as well either. That thing was a beast and a lot of fun on the trails, I even enjoyed it more than the Jeep we had down there. Good luck and have fun with your build.
It's funny that you mentioned Big Tire Garage because I grew up watching Ian build 4x4s on TV and always looked up to him as a fabricator and presenter. However, when it comes to UA-cam content, you're frankly blowing him out of the water. Your shots, editing, and storytelling are really top notch and I've loved watching the channel grow and change. I'm currently working on bumpers for my Blazer based off your Liberty and Discovery. Also, I received my decals and that is exactly how my rig smells. ;)

Every brand of vehicle has its pros and cons. In the 4x4 world why can't we appreciate each others rigs and style. No matter what you are working on I will be watching. Doing a great job Nate.
Nate, one of the things I did when I build my on board air systems was to put a air fitting and a valve at the top near the air compressors. This way if I lose an air hose in the system I can always go directly to the compressor turn the valve and have air. Love your videos keep up the great fabrication work.😎👍
I am sticking with you. No matter what vehicle you are working on . All your fab work can be made to fit any vehicle. We have 2 Willys wagons to be made into one. Keeping them pretty much stock , doing a body swap. We had 4 early Broncos before the Willys over the years. Body swapping a 68 on to a 67 frame. Keep up the good work Nate

Cool. Bro. It’s nice to see some thing besides Jeep . I have a 2019 Ranger so I have to follow the Toyota builds to find ideals for my ranger. So you go brother looking forward to it.
You can remove the carrying handles off the Smittybilt compressors and mount standard hardware to the air output. Makes the system more compact for custom jobs like this, giving you more options, including using ARB air kits, with quick connects. Good stuff! Always learning from this channel.
I’m liking the diy air tank been wanting to put one on my yj thanks for the tips on building one would rather do that then buy a bolt on keep on keeping on my friend 🤙🏻 can’t wait for the yota build to start
I’ve always owned Toyotas and love them. Because of your channel I’ve learned to appreciate Jeeps and also love all they’re capable of. Whoever is bashing your Toyota plans has no idea what it is like to bomb the Baja desert and make those bypass shocks work. Also reliable a/c is a must for Baja
I watch your channel for the fabrication content and the occasional outdoor wheeling adventures. I'm an overlander. My vehicle is a cab-and-a-half 2007 Chevy Silverado diesel with a Flippac in the 6.5 ft bed! It is the rock crawler anti-christ! I get all the jokes about having a fireplace and in-law quarters in my rig. But I NEVER need to decide what to leave behind! LOL! Keep up the good work!
Love the channel and everything you’re doing man. It’s funny that people would care you’re building a Toyota, personally I’m excited to see you work on a different platform. I was hoping you’d incorporate some kind of auto shut off into the air system for filling up your tires - it’s something I’ve wanted to incorporate but haven’t landed on a solution I like so I’d love to see you tackle it.
My years of working in a refinery helped me to understand all of the lingo and prv’s lol. Great system been thinking of making my own for my truck. Great video!!!
This channel is fantastic! Why wouldn't someone want to see a variety of builds? I can't afford to build all of them so I enjoy seeing someone who can. Thank you!!!
Have have never been a fan of jeeps but I enjoy content of several "jeep" channels because I care more about what the people are doing with the vehicle than the vehicle itself. Thanks for the great content I look forward to watching this build progress. I'm hoping to get my first 4x4 soon.
Screw the haters. I have a 2018 jku and I love Toyota’s, Land Rovers and of course Jeep’s. All my buddies have Samurai buggies they’ve all built and they are pretty damn nasty. I love the Disco by the way and what your doing with it. Keep up the bad ass content!!!
Dude its so refreshing that you're building more than just Jeeps or more than just Toyotas. Having a LJ built for the rocks, I'm a Jeep guy, but I'm down to see any type of offroad build, no matter the brand. I am super excited to see what happens with the Tacoma. Good to see you doing what you love bud!
I am currently tweaking on a Cherokee and could apply just about everything you publish on my build if I chose to. If I had the time, funds and garage space I would build multiple vehicles, in multiple styles, from multiple manufacturers. I'm especially looking forward to electric powered off road builds gaining a foothold. Variety is the spice of life! Thanks for being so generous with your knowledge Nate!
This video was perfectly timed, I am starting to get my plans for the air system in my ZJ roughed out. Excited to see where it goes next. I am very excited about the Tacoma, not so much because of it being a Toyota, but because it will be a slightly faster build. I love watching you get to trail test your projects and see what you have done tested real world. The Disco has been an awesome project and can’t wait to see it traveling across the US.
Make it Mondays (generic build like air system) Taco Tuesdays Welding Wednesday (just loads of fabrication) Editing Thursday (I'm good to you Nate) Fix it Friday (anything broke on trail or hasn't worked out in-build) Weekend trail runs, family time out enjoying the builds. Filmed. If only to make a record of what worked and what didn't. Lol keep you busy 🤣
This is why I love your channel. It's not the same old builds and one vehicle brand. Also why I like Stacey David's gears, but wish he did more in depth on his work. I have my Tacoma, my wife's disco, dodge trucks, 47 ford sedan, and my 71 bronco. Fabrication is Fabrication and each project has different challenges that might have a solution that you needed that different perspective view.
"just what youtube needs, another Tacoma build." Yeah! I guess Nate should've just bought another JK and thrown a catalog of the same prefab mall crawling crap at it. 😐
Never un-subing from this channel, no matter what you buy to build. I love the creativity that you bring and I love that you make things youre own rather then going out and buying parts to just bolt on. Thats one thing that set you apart from other jeepers is you actually build youre parts rather then buying them. I'm a Chevy guy but I can appreciate the builds of other vehicles. Im 100% excited for the Toyota build and im excited to see what you do with it. Keep up the great content!

In regards to comments from the last video. I follow this channel for the custom fabrication work you do, not because you like Jeeps, Toyotas, or Land Rovers. I'm a machinist by trade and I love DIY projects. Lately I've been on a woodworking binge. Next I'd love to learn how to weld. My dad got a Vulcan (Harbor Freight) Multi-Process welder. My first projects were some steel shooting targets. After watching a video on you making sliders for the LR, that is going to be my next project for my Lexus GX470. Thanks for the awesome videos. One of the best channels I follow.
I’m a diehard Jeep guy. But fabrication is the art of creation. I have been building stuff for a very long time and still learn new stuff watching you build. Let the haters hate and keep being Awesome.
I like all your vids, especially the variety. I would argue that doing ONLY Jeep builds would be “just what UA-cam needs”, another Jeep build. There are plenty of Jeep builds EVERYWHERE you look. Doing different vehicles and different projects is what keeps me coming back enthusiastically.
Your channel is fabulous. I’m an old stainless steel fabricator that builds very similar to you. My son and I watch your channel for ideas keep building everything you do. I put together an air system similar to yours. I made a mistake and used 1/4”tubing. After A couple years of use I will be tearing it all apart and changing it to 3/8s. It does make a difference. Especially when you’re feeling up other tires with a longer hose. Just a quick comment please keep us updated on any small changes you make to things like your tire carrier. My tire carrier is on its fourth generation. I’d like to see the ideas that you come up with once you have it out on the trail and start making changes. Keep up the good work we enjoy it.
You do you dude. I'm a Chevy guy, found you through Willomet Motor and Fab and still love your content. Fab work is universal. Don't matter what it's going to. What you do is good quality work and that's great to watch.
Hey man, I'm a Toyota fiend, working on a bj42 land cruiser and a 2002 tacoma, I liked your content not because of what you work on but because you are a great teacher. Love your stuff
Absolute madness that folk leave your information packed channel and fantastic work based on a vehicle brand. Here was me thinking fabrication/ content gave you oportunity to change a vehicle and build it better. Some folk just don't appreciate the value. Regardless of vehicle brand I'll stick by your channel. Keep up the great work and thanks for your efforts all the way from Scotland! 🤘
Perfect timing with the air build. I have my 92 Hilux down for a bunch of stuff, an air system among those. I'll be pulling a tank from a defunct compressor, and mine is planned for "just" tires, air tools and possibly a pressurised water system.
Fabricating in the mining industry we used 120 wall 2x2 square tubing as manifolds. Built them for the water cooling lines, the oil coolers on the crushers, and the air distribution systems. .120 is more than adequate for your 120 PSI system! Nice job!
Great fabrication videos are great fabrication videos, doesn't matter the vehicle used when you have great content. IMHO the way you explain the hows & why of what your building plus showing your tips & tricks in the skills your using doesn't matter the vehicle because your style of teaching can be used on any project.
I don’t care what you’re building, I just like seeing the fab techniques.

I just built a custom tube front bumper on 97 4runner if you care to check it out.
Keep building, Nate. I'd watch you build a desk. Your perspective and explanation of fabrication is great.
I'm like you bro, I like anything that will get me up the mountain! I have a Tahoe, a Suburban, a Pathfinder, and I just got a old 4runner. I love them all! All the love and respect to you brother! Keep it up, and nevermind all the idiots in the comment section!!
Hi, pipe fitter here responding to your leak check and whenever we get to the hydro/ air test portion of the job I spend more time fixing / modifying test equipment than I do actually testing. Or my favorite is chasing down fittings I had the day before that just disappeared into thin air.
I love that Nate's videos always come out during my Sunday morning poop.
Me too...
@@DirtLifestyle it makes sense as to why you're always in the comments right after, it's probably the only free time you have.
@@DylanYouSonOfABidgeNelson lol absolutely! I shoot video 7 days a week. The first couple hours after a video goes live i catch my breath and answer comments 👍
@@DirtLifestyle I figured, my man. I know hustle when I see it. Keep up the great work, I'm looking forward to your taco build and to you proving a bunch of people wrong about it.
I’m a Jeep guy myself but have buddies with Toyota’s. We all enjoy the same things which is being outdoors and having fun. I’ve been subscribed since day 1 and you are by far my favorite channel to watch because your fab work and creativity is some of the best I’ve seen👍🏻
The amount of hate because you got a Tacoma is ridiculous 😂 keep up the great work man I look forward to this year watching you!
I know the feeling. I swapped from a 14 jk to a 19 taco. It funny how either side changes even tho they have know you. Keep up the great work. Excited to see all the projects move forward.
Hey bud. Slick fab and detailed builds are your brand, no matter what's on the grill. Thanks for the shout, and I'm looking forward to getting back out on the dirt with you. Take care.
Always gonna be haters. It's all about 4wheeling and the mods you can do or need. It's not about one brand or the other. Keep up the great work. Keeping us entertained and interested is all that counts.
Brands aren't my thing, so thanks for sharing your creativity, ingenuity, skill, determination, and positivity. Enjoying all of it.
, Started with the HF camper build series.
If you really want some hate, build a nissan 😂 #nissanownerlife
Lol eventually I definitely will! I have almost bought an xterra a couple times
@@DirtLifestyle🙄 SMH LMAO 🤣😂😜
I personally won’t be watching that just because I don’t care for nissans. But I won’t send hate.
@@Chasitek this man makes custom parts.. Why does it matter what it's bolted to? Nub 😂
@@DirtLifestyle ah, the poor man's 4runner,i like your style! 😂 It is funny, my xterra gets a ton of love on most Facebook groups (non nissan included) but this one lol
I'm an old Chevy guy, here for the content. Keep doin' what you do Nate, it's awesome.
Don't care what you build you have a cool channel been following from the beginning.
Stay safe my brother on your adventures
Thanks you for the support 🙏
These best part about Nate is you never know what you're going to get. You could build a moped and I would still watch because I learn something new each time. Keep on building and inspiring!!
Cool. Bro. It’s nice to see some thing besides Jeep . I have a 2019 Ranger so I have to follow the Toyota builds to find ideals for my ranger. So you go brother looking forward to it.
Thanks man! If they bring the ranger raptor to the USA I will probably build one lol. I love those trucks
You're absolutely right! The people that are just stuck with one brand is ridiculous. I love Tacos but they're overpriced for what you get.
I agree! Very expensive for what is included but I still give them all a chance!
Lop nice! Sounds pretty bad ass!
I dig the soundtrack🤘🤘
This channel is fantastic! Why wouldn't someone want to see a variety of builds? I can't afford to build all of them so I enjoy seeing someone who can. Thank you!!!
When you going to build a Pinzgauer?
Lol I wish!
Unimog? Humvee?
Have to share what I have been doing with you than.
You must be watching Mike Festiva build his mini-pinzgauer, haha.
Unimog please
Have have never been a fan of jeeps but I enjoy content of several "jeep" channels because I care more about what the people are doing with the vehicle than the vehicle itself. Thanks for the great content I look forward to watching this build progress. I'm hoping to get my first 4x4 soon.
WAH! STOP LIKING WHAT I DON"T LIKE! WAH!
I am a Discovery 1 owner and also have a soft spot for Toyota trucks! I love this channel, love the new project.
Much appreciated! I completely agree!
Is there anything you can’t make? :) Awesome channel!!!
Lol not sure 😆 thanks for watching!
I hear he can even make a cake, & bbq cabbage... lol 👍😜
I’m a Jeep guy but like watching you fabricating things , let’s face it you can use your ideas for all kinds of different rides! Keep it up!
Will do buddy thank you!
Soooo.... Are we going to see “Simple Build Sundays” and “Taco-build Tuesdays” now?
I second this motion
3rd!
4th!!!!
The motion is passed. It will be so
Make it Mondays (generic build like air system)
Taco Tuesdays
Welding Wednesday (just loads of fabrication)
Editing Thursday (I'm good to you Nate)
Fix it Friday (anything broke on trail or hasn't worked out in-build)
Weekend trail runs, family time out enjoying the builds.
Much appreciated buddy 🙏
Tribalism of brands is arguably the douchiest thing imaginable. We get it, you think whatever you do is the best.
Tbh I’m thrilled to see anything other than a jeep build.
"just what youtube needs, another Tacoma build."
Yeah!
Thank you very much for the positive comment buddy 🙏
First
Ignore the haters Nate . . the channel is called DIRT lifestyle not Jeep-lifestyle lmao !!! The clue is in the title lolol I'm a Landy guy but I come here for the awesome fabrication, the places you take us wheeling and variety of stuff you love to work on !! Dirt n rocks are the same WHATEVER you wheel on them with !!! Keep it up Nate I love your channel. All The Best from the UK !!
I personally love the fact you aren't a brand racist...
Lol thank you
In regards to comments from the last video.
Awesome quote at 3:38 ! "get it done without the tools you want, and with the ones you have".
Thanks buddy 👍
I definitely will keep everyone updated on the changes and improvements on the carrier
Variety is the spice of life. Keep smiling.
Absolutely my friend 🙌
Im a jeep guy first but your a fab channel and learning is what im about any vehicle works for me ...keep up the good work
Absolute madness that folk leave your information packed channel and fantastic work based on a vehicle brand. Here was me thinking fabrication/ content gave you oportunity to change a vehicle and build it better.
Some folk just don't appreciate the value.
Regardless of vehicle brand I'll stick by your channel. Keep up the great work and thanks for your efforts all the way from Scotland!
🤘
I'm glad your channel isn't just Jeeps. I appreciate that you build on so many different platforms. Keep that up. It's what keeps me interested.
Thanks man!
Perfect timing with the air build. I have my 92 Hilux down for a bunch of stuff, an air system among those. I'll be pulling a tank from a defunct compressor, and mine is planned for "just" tires, air tools and possibly a pressurised water system.
I don't care what you are building, I love seeing the process and how you got there.
Fabricating in the mining industry we used 120 wall 2x2 square tubing as manifolds. Built them for the water cooling lines, the oil coolers on the crushers, and the air distribution systems. .120 is more than adequate for your 120 PSI system! Nice job!
Hater gonna hate, you build what you want and I will watch it
I’m from Australia and hands down you need to get your hands on a LC76 or LC79. You’d love them. Australia has the best true 4x4s
Great fabrication videos are great fabrication videos, doesn't matter the vehicle used when you have great content. IMHO the way you explain the hows & why of what your building plus showing your tips & tricks in the skills your using doesn't matter the vehicle because your style of teaching can be used on any project.
Thank you brother!
