So you're the owner of one of the most magical singing voices I've ever heard in a video g--... well, any medium really :) I've been wondering for over a decade now XD I was blown away back in... what was it 1999? 2000? To not only hear a full song complete with vocals in a video game, but such a unique and amazing sounding one. Songs in games today can't touch it. Thank you so much for contributing to this wonderful game. This song is so beautiful, and oddly calming to listen to (seriously, I always feel better after listening to it), and both it and Legend of Dragoon in general have always had a strong nostalgic place in my heart. One of my favorite games and songs EVER.
+Roxas935 FF six and seven and chrono trigger were my favorite... but so was legend of dragoon. It was the the one that gave me the most feels and replayed the most next to chrono trigger but that was only cause chrono trigger had a multitude of endings.

This game was my escape from so much childhood trauma. It was my first experience with romance and complex relationships... This game MADE me... I never feel a sense of nostalgia as strong as when I come back to this video...
Definitely a masterpiece that somehow never got the attention it deserved. So much lore packed into one game as well. As close to a perfect RPG as we’ll get.
Whiterin I like this game but... too less weapons, magic, armour graphics could be much better too less side quests dragon mode - too long with all spells it was interesting at first later was very annoying Story is very strong part of this game, I really enjoed it, something original and refreshing. my note would be 8/10 it you consider only story I could agree it as masterpiece but as a game overall no.
Ramza 17 this came out before good graphics could be handled. the most they could do were the extremely high quality Animated Cutscenes. The game couldn't handle much more than that. This was one of the biggest projects Sony ever undertook. There are an ABSOLUTE SHIT TON of weapons, just not different types. They follow bases. Think of it like this: Would you want your man who uses close ranged weapons to use a bow while near sighted? They wouldn't be good at using said weapon. See what I'm saying here? The game is a Masterpiece. For it's TIME. Look at other games of its time. The closest to it in quality was the Final Fantasy Franchise. And this game was practically FOUR in one. A four disc game, with almost equal content on each. Definitely equal quality. It was extremely impressive for its time. But due to budget, time, And length, they couldn't put it at its fullest possible potential.
I know this comment is old but this game was absolutely NOT ahead of it's time. In fact it was a direct response to FF7 and copies many of it's design tenants specifically, and the rest is about as cookie cutter of a PSX JRPG on the system. It's a good game, but it was not revolutionary in any way. Actually, the linear map travel was a huge step back from most games of the time.

People are just blinded by nostalgia. certainly it was an amazing game, but i think a game that was more way ahead of its time would be something like Skies of Arkadia, Lost Odyssey with its first ever depiction of next gen over-world travel and turn-based combat which did not age very well if you ask me in the years to come since that was an element of rpgs they omitted down the line. Um probably Chrono Trigger with its unparalleled graphical quality at the time and story writing. Xenogears for its very complicated and philosophical writing, incorporating many religious themes not see in games until 2 generations later. Tales of phantasia and Grandia with there first ever early incarnations of voice overs. I would say all those games were extremely innovative in there own ways.

It was good, but not the best. Xenogears i think was probably the best with the exception of the over rushed 2nd disk but you get the ideal. In terms of complexity and a multi layer story with philosophical elements and religious tones. xenogears was like the crown jewel. Far far above its time. In fact Xenogears was Final Fantasy VII

I would actually prefer something like Legend of Dragoon as a remake more so then FF VII for so many reasons. My number one reason is the more abstract and far more diverse design of the world and its exploration of multiple different cultures and philosphies. How ever as a literary story of rpgs, I have witnessed better in terms of the narative and quality of writing with its lore and characters and that is why I noted xenogears. Naww its not in my nature to be rude outright, i was just simply making a generalized opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own views and opinions and I respect that.
This was one the greatest RPG games that was overlooked like many others from the PSone era it definitely deserves a sequel or a remake for the PS3 or PS4 the graphics will be mind blowing on either format.

I have been with this game ever since i was 5(im 17) and i am thinking of a prequel now.The dragon campaign has to be played.Through the eyes of Zieg of course.If i could, i'd use today's graphics, voice acting on every diaologue and cutscene, and keep the battle system the same.It will start from when Zieg meets up with emperor Diaz, and end at the very end where he and rose strike at the heart of melbu. *sigh* what a dream.

No, Faust is the hardest. And I don't like how everyone talks about "old" videogames like they don't exist anymore [speaking past tense about it]. The games are still around, the level of difficulty hasn't changed and you could all still be playing them. You really don't HAVE to get every new game just because they look fancier...check a few of those older ones out, there are thousands on PS1...There's bound to be one you never thought you'd love

I remember when this was the first PS game I got. I saw the cover and begged my parents to buy me it.. I was about 6 or 7, I'm almost 18 now and this still is in my top 5 games of all time. The story was perfect. I loved the music.. I bawled so hard when Lavitz died the first time I played.. I had to restart 'cause I thought I messed it up LOL. A prequel is much needed. It makes more sense than a sequel.
This game, even so many years later, over so many consoles, still manages to touch my heart in a way newer ones just haven't been able to. I freaking love this game. It's not my favourite JRPG ever, that would go to the Lunar series on the PS1, but it's damned well a close second. I still own it, and consider it a prized part of my collection. :)
This game deserves a remake. The effort that went in the making of it is unbelievable. It took a team of over 100 developers more than 3 YEARS to create the world, the characters and the creatures of The Legend of Dragoon, to write one of the greatest stories ever told in the history of gaming and to design a combat system that was ahead of its time. Now, how much do you think all of this costed? 16 million dollars. 16 MILLION. At the time The Legend of Dragoon was one of the most expensive video games ever made. And it's a shame that it was overshadowed by the more popular Final Fantasy series.
FF7 and LOD side by side best RPG hands down on PS1. So underrated as a game. Everything from the characters, music, story nothing short of amazing. alot of the younger generation will never now what an amazing game this was.

First RPG ever played. When I saw the trailer on the net once and played the demo at a friends house. I took all the money I had saved up from my paper route (from like 1rst grade to 7th) And got me a psX and this game. Words cannot describe the experience. Still the greatest story in a video game up till this day for me. It changed my life. Wonderful and beautiful game. I am forever connected to this game. Hell, when I die il probably think about how much fun I had playing this game.
Not really, we already know of Rose, would prefer a Game where we got to know more about Zieg, Syuveil, Shirley, Kanzas, Damia and Belzac an how they were all chosen by Emperor Diaz to become The Dragoon's that fought for Liberation of Humanity from the Winglies in what became known as The Dragon Campaign. But hey, everyone has their own opinion an I wanted to give mine to such.
Anyone up for a petition to have them remaster this game? And maybe after it sells millions of copies again, they can continue making games and create a series. One prequel, one sequel, etc.

I just love this game, i started playing again, and there is no a lot of games today with such an amazing story that keeps growing and take makes ou want to keep playing, not because there is hard fights, but because you are wanting to know what happens then. I'm a player that enjoys when happens a lot of unpredictable things and creativity, something that became very rare in these days. The games today only takes 1-2 hours to get bored can't even be compared to LOD. My Life best game.

I played this game when I was 7, I'm 19 years old and I still haven't beat it. Haunts me. This game was my childhood but it was so hard for a little kid. I would get stuck or not know where to go. I wish they remade this game. I have a Xbox One now but I would buy a PS4 just to play this game again.
I am 21 now and I played it when I was 9 it took me a year to beat it because I had to sit and grind forever to beat a boss on disc 3 (I don't know how far you got so im not gonna reveal any spoilers ;) ) and I also kept getting grounded and it taken away xD but this is my all time favorite game and I replay it all the time ive got it memorized through and through I never tire of it :) anyway good luck man just message me if ya want help

Got this game at age 5 from my estranged grand parents and fell in love. I'm proud to say I didn't touch a final fantasy game for 5 more years and got to experience dragoon as the top rpg in my life. No game has yet had me so enthralled to move on in the story line, so excited to see what I'm up against next or what the platinum haired man was up to next. And the music never got old( except the castle theme...). A prequel is suggested and a real sequel( not you dark prophecy.. is deserved.

I remember when it came out and I played it and was totally immersed in it, my best friend at the time (this was 15 years ago) had the players guide and everything and he told everyone at the school this game was his favourite...and now? ....seriously it needs an HD remake seriously. It is a classic. It's EXTREMELY fun to play and memorable a lot more than a lot of games. Apparently they are making a remake on PS4, but who knows. I hope so. :(

This game was the best game that i have ever played the plot developed the characters well. This song makes me shiver every time I listen to it. Its beauty is amazing. The clarity of this song makes it even better. I listen to this song and think about how wonderful the game was. If they make a remake I am going to buy it no matter what. I think the game should be remade because the first game was absolutely beautiful.
The amount of imagination that was poured into these old ps1 RPGs is awe inspiring. Just look at the imagery in these cutscenes. Nothing like this existed beforehand in the gaming industry. We went from SNES to this, and in retrospect, I think that's pretty awesome. It's a bit of a shame that younger generations will never really get to experience these games like we did. Early 90s through early 2000s was truly the golden age of RPGs and sadly we'll never see anything like it again.

I only know of this song because it was on an user-generated playlist for me on Spotify once. I wasn't sure if I likee it enough to save it but decided to anyway because I thought I liked it enough. And I'm glad I did, because Spotify hasn't put it on any of my user-generated playlists since. I love this song now, liking it more and more each time I've listened to it. I'd never heard of this game or song before or after this point, thus I have no idea what this series is about. But I know this is a very lovely song, and that it deserved more recognition back when it was released and it should still be remembered. I find it sad that I've never heard of any of this series before, since this song tells me it's likely something special that I'd enjoy.
DRAGOON - FF7 this is easily one of the greatest rpgs ever made, the combo system was so innovative and the dragoons were amazing. i always waited to build up all characters then unleash all dragoons in the rainbow background! haschel was my favorite and yeah i got both this and ff7 for my 10th bday, always preffered legend of dragoon

It would only be made for PS4 because The Legend of Dragoon was a Sony Entertainment in-house game. Given that Sony has shifted their departments around, I don't see a Remastered version anytime soon.
This game never gets old, played it since it came out till now. Thank god they have a digital copy for the game in psn. I will never forget one of the greatest games I've played in my life.
My first PS game. Good memories. I'm gonna finish it again tomorrow with emu! Musics, graphics, locations, cities, cutscenes, mobs, bosses, characters everything was perfect! Best PSX game.
The reason why the game was so good was how in CD 3 everything just came together, the addition system was amazing and the worlds created are just awesome. In CD 4 i didn't except any of it. When i though the mystery was reaveled, i never imagined that the story could go even higher. Mayfil was honestly my fav. I did not except mayfil at all! The Moon was amazing. It really closed all the inner conflicts from the characters. Except it could have opened stronger and more about the history

No, Faust is the hardest. And I don't like how everyone talks about "old" videogames like they don't exist anymore [speaking past tense about it]. The games are still around, the level of difficulty hasn't changed and you could all still be playing them. You really don't HAVE to get every new game just because they look fancier...check a few of those older ones out, there are thousands on PS1...There's bound to be one you never thought you'd love

I remember when this was the first PS game I got. I saw the cover and begged my parents to buy me it.. I was about 6 or 7, I'm almost 18 now and this still is in my top 5 games of all time. The story was perfect. I loved the music.. I bawled so hard when Lavitz died the first time I played.. I had to restart 'cause I thought I messed it up LOL.
A prequel is much needed. It makes more sense than a sequel.
This game, even so many years later, over so many consoles, still manages to touch my heart in a way newer ones just haven't been able to. I freaking love this game. It's not my favourite JRPG ever, that would go to the Lunar series on the PS1, but it's damned well a close second. I still own it, and consider it a prized part of my collection. :)

This game deserves a remake. The effort that went in the making of it is unbelievable. It took a team of over 100 developers more than 3 YEARS to create the world, the characters and the creatures of The Legend of Dragoon, to write one of the greatest stories ever told in the history of gaming and to design a combat system that was ahead of its time.
Now, how much do you think all of this costed? 16 million dollars. 16 MILLION. At the time The Legend of Dragoon was one of the most expensive video games ever made. And it's a shame that it was overshadowed by the more popular Final Fantasy series.

FF7 and LOD side by side best RPG hands down on PS1. So underrated as a game. Everything from the characters, music, story nothing short of amazing. alot of the younger generation will never now what an amazing game this was.

First RPG ever played. When I saw the trailer on the net once and played the demo at a friends house. I took all the money I had saved up from my paper route (from like 1rst grade to 7th) And got me a psX and this game.
Words cannot describe the experience. Still the greatest story in a video game up till this day for me. It changed my life. Wonderful and beautiful game. I am forever connected to this game.

Not really, we already know of Rose, would prefer a Game where we got to know more about Zieg, Syuveil, Shirley, Kanzas, Damia and Belzac an how they were all chosen by Emperor Diaz to become The Dragoon's that fought for Liberation of Humanity from the Winglies in what became known as The Dragon Campaign. But hey, everyone has their own opinion an I wanted to give mine to such.

I just love this game, i started playing again, and there is no a lot of games today with such an amazing story that keeps growing and take makes ou want to keep playing, not because there is hard fights, but because you are wanting to know what happens then.
I'm a player that enjoys when happens a lot of unpredictable things and creativity, something that became very rare in these days. The games today only takes 1-2 hours to get bored can't even be compared to LOD.

I played this game when I was 7, I'm 19 years old and I still haven't beat it. Haunts me. This game was my childhood but it was so hard for a little kid. I would get stuck or not know where to go. I wish they remade this game. I have a Xbox One now but I would buy a PS4 just to play this game again.
I am 21 now and I played it when I was 9 it took me a year to beat it because I had to sit and grind forever to beat a boss on disc 3 (I don't know how far you got so im not gonna reveal any spoilers ;) ) and I also kept getting grounded and it taken away xD but this is my all time favorite game and I replay it all the time ive got it memorized through and through I never tire of it :) anyway good luck man just message me if ya want help

It's a shame Dart Feld didn't make it to Sega Superstars but it goes to show that Sony hasn't forgotten about this underrated RPG.
He was planned as DLC for Sony All-Stars Battle Royale but was scrapped... kind of like the sequel. :(

Got this game at age 5 from my estranged grand parents and fell in love. I'm proud to say I didn't touch a final fantasy game for 5 more years and got to experience dragoon as the top rpg in my life. No game has yet had me so enthralled to move on in the story line, so excited to see what I'm up against next or what the platinum haired man was up to next. And the music never got old( except the castle theme...). A prequel is suggested and a real sequel( not you dark prophecy.. is deserved.

How is this game lost, how? I remember when it came out and I played it and was totally immersed in it, my best friend at the time (this was 15 years ago) had the players guide and everything and he told everyone at the school this game was his favourite...and now? ....seriously it needs an HD remake seriously. It is a classic. It's EXTREMELY fun to play and memorable a lot more than a lot of games. Apparently they are making a remake on PS4, but who knows. I hope so. :(

This game was the best game that i have ever played the plot developed the characters well. This song makes me shiver every time I listen to it. Its beauty is amazing. The clarity of this song makes it even better. I listen to this song and think about how wonderful the game was. If they make a remake I am going to buy it no matter what. I think the game should be remade because the first game was absolutely beautiful.

The amount of imagination that was poured into these old ps1 RPGs is awe inspiring. Just look at the imagery in these cutscenes. Nothing like this existed beforehand in the gaming industry. We went from SNES to this, and in retrospect, I think that's pretty awesome. It's a bit of a shame that younger generations will never really get to experience these games like we did. Early 90s through early 2000s was truly the golden age of RPGs and sadly we'll never see anything like it again.

I only know of this song because it was on an user-generated playlist for me on Spotify once. I wasn't sure if I likee it enough to save it but decided to anyway because I thought I liked it enough. And I'm glad I did, because Spotify hasn't put it on any of my user-generated playlists since. I love this song now, liking it more and more each time I've listened to it. I'd never heard of this game or song before or after this point, thus I have no idea what this series is about. But I know this is a very lovely song, and that it deserved more recognition back when it was released and it should still be remembered. I find it sad that I've never heard of any of this series before, since this song tells me it's likely something special that I'd enjoy.

this is easily one of the greatest rpgs ever made, the combo system was so innovative and the dragoons were amazing. i always waited to build up all characters then unleash all dragoons in the rainbow background! haschel was my favorite

It was going to be called Angel Rings. It was going to be only loosely based on the Legend of Dragoon universe.

It would only be made for PS4 because The Legend of Dragoon was a Sony Entertainment in-house game. Given that Sony has shifted their departments around, I don't see a Remastered version anytime soon.

Musics, graphics, locations, cities, cutscenes, mobs, bosses, characters everything was perfect! Best PSX game.
The reason why the game was so good was how in CD 3 everything just came together, the addition system was amazing and the worlds created are just awesome. In CD 4 i didn't except any of it. When i though the mystery was reaveled, i never imagined that the story could go even higher. Mayfil was honestly my fav. I did not except mayfil at all! The Moon was amazing. It really closed all the inner conflicts from the characters. Except it could have opened stronger and more about the history
