An anime with more potential and maturity than most would ever dare give it credit for. I agree. And I hope that no one ever dares to "re-make" it, or make a live action version. Some things are sacred, and should remain so.

This song always makes me sad because even though Kiba and the other wolves were reincarnated, they have no memory of each other, Blue or the humans. "Heaven's not enough if when I get there I don't remember you" is the line that hits hardest when you think about the anime's end.
By the way the anime ends with Kiba running away with confidence, i still believe they remember and are still searching for it, but this is just me trying to cope as much as i can

It's important to note that this song is aimed at the Nobles, not Kiba and the wolves. Wolf's Rain takes place in an apocalyptic future post-totally successful global dictatorship. The nobles have reached the point where they no longer have to cooperate because they have all of the world's riches. There are literally no worlds left for them to conquer, so they hide away in their palaces and cling to their ill-gotten gains. It's pretty pathetic. The only thing they haven't obtained is immortality. Meanwhile, the common man (or wolf) struggles to survive and find a future apart from a system that no longer has to depend on its own people to maintain domination because the entire world is dying as a result of totalitarian destruction.

When people want to watch anime for the first time and ask for recommendations, most otakus usually tell them it's good to start by watching series such as SAO, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Death Note, My Hero Academia, OP, etc. but I don't think they're a good starting point. Despite being good, they can become tedious for those who only want to know a bit more about anime. Most of their stories are either too long or unplanned, or they include too much fanservice. Wolf's Rain is a great option, as it has a decent amount of episodes, a great soundtrack, an awesome traditional animation style and a great story.
I remember getting so worked up towards the end know what would be the worst was about to come. This song really nailed in those emotions. I love Wolfs Rain, but man.... does it reach your soul.
This show and Eureka 7 were Studio Bones at its best, the real monsters they were before starting to get obsessed with profit. Such gems they made, and this soundtrack is just superb.

So true.. I just watched it for the first time and it's one of my new favorites. It's a bit of a slow burn but it was still an intriguing world, and one hell of a ride. Definitely a top 10 for me. :')
Don't know why, this song makes me think about Cowboy Bebop's "Blue" and "Memory". Blue, in particular, is all about ascending to heaven and finding peace. Can't help but feel that "Heaven's Not Enough" is a response to that: "Heaven's not enough if when you get there it's just another blue" and "And heaven's not enough if when I'm there I don't remember you". There's also the line "I saw so many things , but like a dream, always losing me in a cloud", which makes me think of the ending of "Blue": "Everything is clearer now; life is just a dream, you know." And then at the end of "Heaven's Not Enough" it says: "In another life, in another dream, by a different name. Gave it all away for a memory and a quiet life", which again makes me think of Spike dying for a "memory" (and the song Memory is tied to Julia). It's a silly connection, but I can't help but think of that every time I hear this song.
Man this anime was just beautiful. It wasn't perfect, but it left an incredible impression on me and made me think about things. I love those kinds of things BECAUSE OF THIS SHOW. Since watching it, I started seeing traces of it in other anime. That's incredible.
Finished rewatching Wolf's Rain a day ago to compile an episode soundtrack, and I just heard the news of Keiko Nobumoto's passing this morning. I've re-listened to this song most days for about a month now, fantastic song. The final message in the last episode states "thank you very much", but it is Nobumoto who deserves many thanks for her wonderful works and writing, whether it is WR or Bebop, or the "Lullabies of the Lost" in Samurai Champloo. A fantastic soul, unbelievably sad to hear of her passing. Rest in peace.
This serie brings me a special feeling. Like warmth on Christmas, a lonely one though. In a big grey city. Still, not being completely alone having a tiny little love inside. Idk

Godly, underrated and beautiful. It will stay our hidden treasure for now untill the world opens it's eyes to the glory of this mal-toned far off and yet close to the heart reality. A reality you wish to escape to and yet the struggles are just to real. Will thow fight for that dim lifeless other world or hide to what we know in our own self dim hell? This fanticy was to real. It was gorgeous.

Same❤❤❤
This was my fourth anime, Cowboy Bebop was my entry to anime and I was so happy to see this had the same writer.

Nice to see this masterpiece getting some recognition
I remember getting so worked up towards the end know what would be the worst was about to come. This song really nailed in those emotions. I love Wolfs Rain, but man.... does it reach your soul.
One of the first ever animes I watched! Absolute masterpiece
This song always brings tears to my eyes...I still love the anime so much
This song deserve more spotlight
Such an underrated anime with some of the very best music scored for any visual media.
THIS SONG TRIGGERS MY FIGHT OR FLIGHT SO HARD! Wolfs rain is my all time favorite anime and every single time I watch it, it makes me SOB
Sucks this masterpiece isn’t on Spotify
Two years later, it still isn't. :(
This is the anthem of those ravenous for the things the heart hurts for
I love it, left a seed in my soul over time. Will see it again now in 2021.
This show and Eureka 7 were Studio Bones at its best, the real monsters they were before starting to get obsessed with profit. Such gems they made, and this soundtrack is just superb.
A beautiful way to explore Buddhist ideals and concepts in an understandable and gripping way. Loved it. Was very happy with the ending.
I was 7 when i watched it. This music gives me chills
I’ll never forget this song
It will always be in my heart
I feel so much emotion, feels like I’m gonna cry from hearing this. And I haven’t cried in around a decade.
wolf's rain is my top 5 anime for sure. Fucking underrated as shit

@@mariygv3371 I've started now to re-watch it after the first time, 20 years later... How amazing it is, the story, the pictures, the atmosphere, the songs... A masterpiece, there's no such of this anime nowadays, alls the same crap with magic, overpowered protagonists, demons and repetitive plot...
The art work is so beautiful...so is the music. Makes me feel like I'm in a dream
I'll never understand how anyone could dislike this series.
3:09 this part give me chills every time

So true
Don't care how others feel about the ending the animation, atmosphere and music made Wolf Rain an experience worth watching.
This song is etched in my heart.
One of the BEST animes that nobody ever talks about
So true.. I just watched it for the first time and it's one of my new favorites. It's a bit of a slow burn but it was still an intriguing world, and one hell of a ride. Definitely a top 10 for me. :')
The thumbnail is exactly what I picture Heaven is like. A wolf's paradise.
Maybe it is maybe not but true😊
Is anything more beautiful than the gray and brown snow filled sky of Wolf's Rain set to this music?
Sometimes I just start hearing this song in my head for no apparent reason
Тоже самое, дружище)
И это прекрасно!
Same!! All the time
i thought i was the only one.
Don't know why, this song makes me think about Cowboy Bebop's "Blue" and "Memory". Blue, in particular, is all about ascending to heaven and finding peace. Can't help but feel that "Heaven's Not Enough" is a response to that: "Heaven's not enough
if when you get there it's just another blue" and "And heaven's not enough
if when I'm there I don't remember you".
There's also the line "I saw so many things
, but like a dream, always losing me in a cloud", which makes me think of the ending of "Blue": "Everything is clearer now; life is just a dream, you know."
And then at the end of "Heaven's Not Enough" it says: "In another life, in another dream, by a different name. Gave it all away for a memory and a quiet life", which again makes me think of Spike dying for a "memory" (and the song Memory is tied to Julia).
It's a silly connection, but I can't help but think of that every time I hear this song.
Same composer and vocalist ;D
Your considerable knowledge of lyrics from these beloved songs is highly impressive
I think those are maybe my two favorite Yoko Kanno songs. Can't get enough of them and many other of the amazing songs she's written for anime osts.
Just started watching it , and wow it's amazing
Es curioso que ninguna canción de las que he escuchado de Wolf's Rain en UA-cam tenga un like negativo.....TODAS tienen like positivo 🤩🤩🤩
One of the most beautiful songs...
How can a song be this beautiful??? ;___;
It’s been years, but I’m back here again.
This serie brings me a special feeling. Like warmth on Christmas, a lonely one though. In a big grey city. Still, not being completely alone having a tiny little love inside. Idk
My god 20 years and im still here
I got it in my youtube recommendations after 10 years. Strange algorithm, i remember watching it as a kid cause it was cool to see wolves and paradise.
this music makes me want to cry in all the right ways
the ending...
the nostalgia...
this anime affected who i am today
this!
Maybe right this song does make me cry but it's me
"Stairway to Rakuen."
Omg I just noticed
Would someone pls explain it to me? I don't get it
@@martenh1355 It sounds a lot like Led Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven." Even has the 3 movement structure, which is odd for a pop/rock song.
I think I saw this for the first time back in 2008, it just blow my mind, is so powerful that actually I can't watch it again complete cuz I brake, and even yet I always end remember everything with this song and is like feel it more than just remember it.
wolfs rain is the first anime i ever watched from start to finish like 10 yrs ago at this point. i get so much nostalgia from this song and the series. i feel like rewatching it now
Not even 20M....this deserves 200M. Be safe friends.
Its always the overlooked, less popular anime that I go after. Even when I was a child, I could always resonate with them because people treated me similarly. These teach the best lessons and have the most beautiful soundtracks ❤️
People have forgotten how damn good it is
This is one of my favorite songs
A hauntingly beautiful anime and soundtrack 😊💜
This art is enough for me. Thank you for the masterpiece
This wall paper is beautiful! Love it
Thanks for not plastering the video with ads! Ty so much
Eternally waiting for this to be on spotify until I'm in the grave 👌🏻 please 😭
This is one of the most beautiful things Iv ever heard..
This always puts me at ease in harder moments. Like I could just drift asleep very peacefully for awhile.
Remember how Blue isn't a full wolf
And how this plays when Hige bids her farewell when he thinks he might not see her again
Remember how we don't see her in the epilogue
Hige no
『Crystal_ Crysellia』 What have you done...
Wolfdogs are more wolves than dogs actually
Yet we see Hige even though he *SPOILER NO JUTSU*
Also, when Blue dies, she doesn't say, "Let's meet again, next time, in Paradise."
Why... why would you do this 😧😟🥺
This song reminds me of those who are not here anymore... But i would love to see again... 😭
Man this song is so soothing. It's one of those songs which I hope will play while I'm in my final moments
