I’ve been using the Kiara Sky kit for a while. I found that it’s easier for me to just bend my finger and touch my nail into the powder rather than dipping. The result seems the same to me, actually better in my opinion. To remove the acrylic I use my efile to take off the stuff down to the colored layer and then soak in warm acetone and it slips right off. You can put your bottle of acetone in a cup of hot water to warm it up before you use it to soak off your acrylic. Instead of using the colored powders I just use the white powder and then polish my nails. If I use white or natural then I can change my polish frequently without having to remove the acrylic just to change my mani.
I just want to add some clarification... Dip powders shouldn't be compared to gel, but to acrylic. This is basically a new way to do an acrylic overlay.
It’s more work than just using regular polish, but acrylic dip powder nails last until you take them off! No chipping for weeks 💅🏻 Here’s the starter kit we used in the video: amzn.to/2nr6KMh 👌🏻
I'm a tech that's specialized in dip powder technique and to remove dip nails it's best to soak your nails in pure warm acetone rubbing it against a rough sponge.. the aluminum technique does not work for resine nails it's going to take forever !
To remove it, you should try heating up a bowl, then place a paper towel inside with acetone and let it soak off. Rub your nails on the paper towel while soaking. it comes off clean.
One thing I do differently that I like doing. Before you try to soak the dip mani in remover, load up on cuticle oil to help protect your skin from drying out.
What a coincidence that once I saw this video I went to the store the same day, saw a dip powder kit, bought it, then watched this again to make my nails great!!
Thank you for making this video! I bought a $34 Red Carpet Dip kit from ULTA and I like it so much more than working with the messy gel base builder and stinky, yucky acrylic. The dip process is so smooth and easy to apply. And what I love best is THERE IS NO ODOR!!! No lamp is necessary for drying, however, I applied a clear gel top coat, which worked great. Have a wonderful 2018 ~
I love that you explain it! Now I will actually look into getting it. Thank you so much Juli! Also I have a question, why do you only apply the base to 3/4ths of the nail instead of the whole nail?
WOW this looks amazing! I've been doing shellac on clients for years, this looks similar. I'm always looking for the next best thing to offer my clients. Question . . . How does this weigh in against Shellac ?
Amazing advice from the queens of nails themselves. Btw, I thought it was satisfying when Julie dipped her nails in the powder, I don't know why. Love youu ♥♡♡♡♥♥
This video was really helpful! I've never tried dip powder but I've really curious. Is there a safe and easy way to remove this from your nails? (Typing while the video is loading, sorry if you already answered!)
Yes, as you can see at the end of the video, you need to file and soak them off. Be patient while soaking them for easy, safe removal 👌🏻 Peeling it off impatiently can ruin your natural nails!

thank you! this was so simple and clear to understand!
I wear gel on my nails bc it makes my nails thicker so they don’t break so easily. Will this add thickness to my nails as well to help with that also?
I love that you explain it! Now I will actually look into getting it. Thank you so much Juli! Also I have a question, why do you only apply the base to 3/4ths of the nail instead of the whole nail?
Great vid. I definitely want to try this. So how did you end up de-gunking the brush?

Can you use liquid latex to prevent the powder from staining your hands?
Can you show us the sns dip powder kit too? And the asp dip kit from sallies? It'd be a cool video to have a duel between the dip powders lol
I wish I had that much patience for doing this. 😳
Love the color combination. Haven't tried dip powders yet but, would really like to. Thank you for sharing this with us.
