I've been using KS Dip system for about a year. What a savings. This video is good however they forgot to mention that you need to lightly buff the nail before applying the bond. You can see her nails are buffed. This is an important step. The cost of my KS was about $100. I've spent over $30 at the salon for the same service. Since purchasing I've done my own nails over 10 times which has saved me money, not to mention avoiding the high cost of the nail salon. Thanks KS for the natural nail application.
They do say "prep the nails", but I would prefer if they spelled it out as you did. I may make my own cheat sheet and print it out to keep in my supply box. The older videos also didn't mention the alcohol wipe step, which I'm pleased this video does show.
You girls are absolutely right! Nail preparation is very important and we got in the habit of saying "prep the nail" but we will definitely spell it out in future videos. The most important step is to push back the cuticle and remove the shine from the natural nail with a file or e-file. Doing this avoids lifting and ensures a long-lasting result.

Love that this tutorial is self-applied and on the right hand. Very cool to show the most difficult set (if right-handed) rather than the easiest of applying on another person just to make the video look good.

Your statement assumes that the nail technician is A) right handed and that B) the video frame wasn't flipped in editing (which is done a LOT of the time for aesthetic purposes).

I just got this done yesterday. I had never heard of it before. It truned out very nice. It looks so natural.
I purchased the starter kit and love it! I used tips the first time and did my natural nails after. The process is easy to get used to and the results are salon quality!

Wow what a process!!
It might seem like it but when you are doing it in real life it only takes about 30 minutes to do a full set and if you are not very experienced it will take about 45 min, way less time than acrylic application.
I do it at home, and for me trying to do acrylic (not a trained pro obviously) takes 2+ hours bec its hard to do in my opinion.Doing the dip powder at home for me only takes 35 minutes even though all that dipping can seem like a lot haha. Its rather fast since its just like painting nail polish but the only difference is you dip and brush off access before you continue. Dry time is super quick so you can do finger after finger constantly! I suggest to try it out and see if u like it.

I can see doing this on myself much quicker than polygel in a tube with brush. I can’t see it as quicker on a client. I suppose with anything new gets quicker the more you do.

Yes! It drives me crazy when people claim they are showing a tutorial when they don't even follow the directions - and especially when they then claim the results aren't so great.
The only thing i dont do on my natural nails is do the natural coat, and instead use the color that i want. It works pretty good for me. And i dont use that top coat. I buff my nails after filing and use a gel topcoat to insure longer lasting nails as I do nails for a living and need mine to stay cute too!
After the three weeks, how do you remove the coatings? Do you have to soak in acetone?

This may be a silly question, but should I use a "fine grade" drill bit when smoothing the hardened surface after seal but before top coat? Or is there an extra fine drill bit I need to find?

Is the clear/ neutral looking powder you did in the beginning important for its longevity. Mine started chipping after 4 days and for the price, I was not happy but I called and they said I could come back and get them fixed.

Sure! Obviously, we want you to use ours only, LOL! But yes, for sure, our essentials will work well with any dip powder.
I've actually tried quite a few different brands of powder, essentials, and mix and matched but I've found that this brand works best. I've had some pretty awful glitter experiences, so learn from my mistakes LOL

They need a rougher surface to adhere the product to your nail, if you don’t buff them there’s a huge chance they will pop right off, prep is everything with dip

Been using for a few months. The last few times, when I apply the top coat, let dry for 2 min, and then apply second coat, something is going wrong. They are not shiny. They become dull. What is going wrong?
Sounds like there is excess Seal Protect. Make sure you massage each fingernail with a lint free cloth after you let the second coat of Seal Protect dry.

How the heck do you keep the brushes from messing up??!! I just dip a few times and a ball of it sticks at the end of the brush!
For the Top Coat, make sure you don't allow them to come into contact with wet Seal Protect. After applying it rub it in with a lint free cloth and allow it to dry for a minute. Then apply thin coats of the Top Coat. If it is already hard, replace the brush or use the brush saver. Also, after using the top coat wipe it down to ensure no left over seal protect is on the brush to avoid contaminating the entire bottle!

I purchased recently starting kit, everything went smoothly but after I pulled out the brush from the step no 4 Top Coat it was already sticking together and I couldn’t apply nice and thin layer... and result was messy layer on top of my first nail art 😂
I also saw smoke after I applied it on the nail what freaks me out. 😳
I drilled off this messy layer and used the new brush which were included with the package but I couldn’t achieve nice and smooth look on top of my nails.
I am sure I am doing something wrong or it’s something wrong with that top coat? Do someone has same experience?

are you supposed to cap the free edge with the dip? or only when you do the topcoat? My natural nail is also coming off of the dip I have on and then it starts to lift..
For some reason, my top coat starts to harden when I go to apply the second top coat. Why is this?? If I wait a day later to open the top coat bottle again, it’s just fine, but if I open it again after just opening it a few minutes earlier to apply the first top coat, the brush starts hardening at the tip. Even my bottle becomes hard to open 😢
Can regular gel top coat be used instead of the top coat that comes with the kit (air dry)??
