He did a great job I love this. I've done mine as well but I do it the other way around I'll put the full nail coverage on and then I will put the white dip. I add a little bit of the nail polish to my tips and then dip it into the white after I've already done my full coverage and it really works great that way for me. Thank you for this video. Congratulations with your graduation
Recently found your channel and love it! I wear a couple coats of hard gel on my natural nails and use regular polish. I was a nail tech for 30 years, retired now, always wore long acrylic nails. I got into hard gel a few years ago and let my own nails grow out, they've grown super long, I cut them down, start over, etc. depending on my mood. Then Dip Nails comes along and I think "Oh great, something else new for me to try!" But I have about 300 bottles of polish and don't want to invest in anything else, not even gel polish. I have to admit, watching you do dip nails has been fun to watch, relaxing and has made me want to invest in the kits I need to do it. keep up the great videos!
I do dip nails ritually. I take a month off every 2 or 3 months to allow my nails to breathe. But I keep my nails done any other time.. but I came to say girl. Don't let the fact yu have loads of polish at home stop you from trying something yu want to do. Bc I assure yu I have 100s of dip colors. And I still have clients come in sometimes and they want specific design colors...or want a polish look over the clear dip overlay and I find myself using my polishes quit often. I've used up polish since starting and bought more. I have so much money in my nail stuff it isn't even funny😂 my hubby says I have an addiction😂 but I can't help it. When yu have clients and urself to do...yu need all the stuff I have lol. So go ahead girl and venture into the other products and new ideas out there if yu want to. You'll still use ur polishes i promise it won't be a waste. ❤😊
omg i'm so new dip powder and this tut was sooo helpful!! Thank you so much for this! If I ever learn how to do this, I'm gonna do this forever, seriously, it's so beautiful!
looks super easy. I almost bit the bullet and went to the salon because french tip is always to darn hard. definitely going to grab that dip tray. thanks for the video !
Kate .. Kate .. Kate 😯 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 Beautiful job. I just tried this powder for the first time. 20mins ago. I’m about to take it off and get this French kit. Your Nails came out beautifully.
This peel off base coat is new to me I didn’t even know you could get this . The French manicure would look good with the sparkle pink that you have on the other hand .
A really nice tutorial and a lovely result. You got them nice and thin. I'm allergic to gel so I'm going to try dip and acrylic as I used to get acrylic nails years ago without any problems Thanks for this .
Your nails look great. I've tried several times with Nicole Diary products & they never cure. I think they sent me old product. Hopefully I'll have success with the line you use. Thanks so much.
Love it. I actually order the same French dip powder dish from amazon. I want to try now. My nails have grown so much so ,I doubt they will look okay. Still have to order my clear dip from sparkle and co.
So going to get this French tip dip trey looked like was pretty easy to do among a few tries of course like u said to get the tip line good all I know is I so need this d when i get it be watching this vid love ur nd marlakris vids my top 2 OGs ther fee others are great to I just found few weeks ago but ur nd marla was the first reliable informative nd most of all easy for me to follow nd understand at the same time in the beginning of this at home nail dipping thanks so much for tht girl 💖💅💅
i do not have a french video using fake tips but i do have one using dip powder over natural nails! if you wanted to do a french with tips i would recommend using white tips and then apply clear or pink dip on top.
Have seen a couple of French dip manis and I can’t wait to try this! Looks like I’ll have to change it up since I use gel liquids. 🤔 Maybe dip the tip 2x first, then cover with a French nail stencil while dipping the rest of my nail in natural pink. If you’ve done this with gel liquids and/or would be willing to do a tutorial, please let me know. 😁🙏🏾
hi! i haven’t tried this method with gel liquids, but i assume you could follow the same steps in the video! just make sure to cure between each layer.
Hi all, just another idea for keeping the brush clean between coats, is to have 2 brushes (I buy mine from Sally's in a pack of 2, really cheap). Then clean them in cleaning solution between each coat, so you'll always have a clean, not clumpy brush contaminating the product 😀
Your videos are so so helpful! Is there a specific brand of liquids and or powders you would recommend for a beginner?? You’ve inspired me to give this a go!
thank you! i totally recommend sparkle and cos liquids and powders! they are absolutely amazing. plus if you want to save some money feel free to use my code and referral!
How do you get ur cuticles so clean without dead skin everywhere?? I have only done dip twice but the cuticle part and getting all the dead skin off the side took me hours, (the longest part for me)..I can push them back fine and scrape the skin off nail, but when it comes to the second part, I don’t think I know what I’m doing lol🤦🏼♀️...what happens after u push them back and the skin rises up? Is it supposed to get like that? And I’ve watched tons of videos and I use cuticle oil everyday 🤷🏼♀️
So, do you cook the white tips first before you add the pink powder? I don’t recall you mentioning that. Your nails are exactly what I was looking for. All the vids I watched were on fake, long nails, which I’m not into anymore. Jc
hi! i don’t know what you mean by “cook”. i do the white, tap off the excess and then immediately go in with the pink. the colors will harden relatively at the same time!
I’ve tried doing my own dip nails twice and each time have had quite a severe allergic reaction to what I believe to be the activator. Is it possible to use gel base and top coats with dip powders and cure each layer instead of using the activator?
I have several respiratory responses to dip at home as well. Super frustrating because I have gone to the salon several times with no reaction. I figured it was the powder, though. I'll be interested to see if excluding the activator helps you. I use a chemical respirator and take benedryl before I start to reduce the effects.
Ooh I love your shape of your nails
Me too! Im so jealous. My nail beds are so wide and stumpy, they would never look like that.
Me too!! was the first thing i noticed like wow my nails look like a 1st grade boy compared to hers! ha!
What is the shape of your nails? Squoval?
Best tutorial for french nails I've seen. Looks so professional, yet very simple with out the extreme filing!
Best dip nails I’ve ever seen. Beautiful job and instructions!

Your tutorials are always helpful. I'm just starting to learn how to use dip powders. Thank you for being so thorough.

@@aliciastone7013 Just one thing, you don't need to let your nails breathe. Nails, like hair, are dead when they come out of your skin. Dead keratin.
Your videos are therapeutic. This looks great! I need that peach crush too!
Your nails came out totally amazing, but goodness gracious that was so much work!
Love all the nails you do, getting a new dip kit soon. Going to attempt this French, this was so helpful!!!
Gorgeous! Fabulous french tip job! Love the color on the other hand too 💖

How did the dip powder go for you?
@@Amy-uy5du I've used it with monomer as acrylic and no problems. Haven't tried it with dip system yet , but will at some stage.
Thanks for asking 🙂

You done a great job and that was very helpful
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing!
Would you happen to have a tutorial of a French dip set using fake tips? Just started out using dip and I love all your videos so far!!
i do not have a french video using fake tips but i do have one using dip powder over natural nails! if you wanted to do a french with tips i would recommend using white tips and then apply clear or pink dip on top.
Excellent tutorial...thanks!
You killed it!!! Nice job, kiddo! 💜
Beautiful ❤
I love how she didn’t throw away the extra powder she putted it directly to the container

Hey girl! Awesome tutorial, I can see how this effect would be a little tricky to get with dip powder. I'll look up that container you used. Tfs! 💗💗xx
This reminds me to do more french manicures :D thanks for sharing!

Those turned out sooo pretty! Also, I only have white, and no clear. Would I be able to encapsulate the nails with white too?
hi! the only thing that works for encapsulation is a clear. this way you can see the distinct colors underneath 🤍
@@katesnails 👍 thank you
Great French tip video for dip nails. I tried these before and my nails were waaaaayyy too thick. I’m going to try your suggestions. Thank you!!!
Thank you very much
Oh ok... Thank You 😉🤗
Thank you

😍
Heyy I loved ur video. I have a question. in regards the UV Light, do I need to use it or can I let it dry normally? THank u
hi! for any gel product, you will need a lamp to cure and they will not air dry.
@@katesnails Ohhh I see. Thank you very much for ur reply
I just wanted to say you're so talented and I've been literally binge watching you 😂
hi! cuticle oil is not mandatory, however i would highly recommend it to replenish the moisture in your skin!
@@katesnails Thank you!
Hi Kate, have you ever tried fairy glamor dip powder? I was on their site & they had some great reviews.
i actually haven’t!
How do you get ur cuticles so clean without dead skin everywhere?? I have only done dip twice but the cuticle part and getting all the dead skin off the side took me hours, (the longest part for me)..I can push them back fine and scrape the skin off nail, but when it comes to the second part, I don’t think I know what I’m doing lol🤦🏼♀️...what happens after u push them back and the skin rises up? hi! i like to take a cuticle nipper and gently nip off only the dead skin. this allows me to get a more neat cuticle area!
katesnails When u push back the cuticles, and file gently getting all the stuff underneath, is it supposed to lift up around the nail sides?
yes! the skin should be slightly lifted.
What is your recommendation for a starter dip kit?
i would totally recommend any of the starter kits from sparkle and co!
Were you able to create an apex with the dipping?
Yes! If you wanted even more of an apex, you can do thin layers of liquid and powder in the center of the nail to really create that curve.
kindly what ticnique doing my dip powder step by step and is your use about product
Thanks for making this vid! Can you please share the link for the item to create the French manicure?
hi! all of the links should be in the description.
@@katesnails I found it thanks ☺️

hi! i don’t know what you mean by “cook”. i do the white, tap off the excess and then immediately go in with the pink. the colors will harden relatively at the same time!
@@katesnails
Cook: cure. So there’s no “cooking” curing at all using dip powder’s? I’m trying to learn which technique is better for me.
@@yolyrom7233 correct! no need to cure dip manicures unless you seal the manicure in with a gel top coat. that layer would need to be cured.
@@katesnails
Thank you so much for your replies! I’m not going to be hesitant any longer. Again, thank you dear!
I’ve tried doing my own dip nails twice and each time have had quite a severe allergic reaction to what I believe to be the activator. Is it possible to use gel base and top coats with dip powders and cure each layer instead of using the activator?

Me too! 🙋🏽♀️ I’ve only ever used gel liquids for my dip powder manis.
How does the gel top coat work on the powder? You don’t need a base/fountain?? Thank you
nope! you can apply it right over the filed and dry powder.
I’ve noticed you tried out some different dip liquids. Which one is your favorite?
i’d have to say out of all the ones i’ve tried, sparkle and co liquids are my absolute favorite!
