Your videos are amazing! Your process, demo, description - just perfect! Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make these wonderful videos!
Your videos have become some of my favorites. It amazes me how much you get done each month. I don't know how you run a business and continue to accomplish so many beautiful projects!!!
I love these 2.5 inch strip videos! Keep 'em coming! And I also want to sincerely thank you for how quiet the videos are. No music, and the sewing machine noise is muted. I really appreciate that.
I love these videos. Even though I'm just starting quilting, I don't have a scrap bucket but awesome ideas for jelly rolls. Thank you for these videos.
Adorable! Your videos are very relaxing to me and I eagerly await to see what you come up with each month! Quilt on! ps i also have a Juki and i LOVE it!!!
We'll be getting them in stock soon. If you'd like to pre-order, just give us a call at 641-585-2438 and we'd be happy to help. We're open 10-5, central time, Monday through Friday and 10-4 on Saturday's. Tell whoever answers that Shelley said you could pre-order.
Thanks for this. I love this series. Just a thought & I'm going to go try it now, instead of cutting all the 4.5" pieces up front, cut 2 darks & 1 light (or vice versa) as 9.5-10" strips and sew your b c b pieces as a rail fence like strip set before cross cutting to 4.5" x 6.5". You only have to cut 2 c pieces 4.5" to sew to d.
I am 77 years old and I wait so impatiently every month for the next video in this series to be available. It’s almost embarrassing! Each one is wonderful but they somehow get better and better. Thank you for the work you put in to provide such increasingly excellent ideas to us! ❤❤❤
Hi, Shelley! I just wanted to say that I always enjoy your construction videos! I’m also in awe of your productivity. Last year I made five quilts-two QOV’s, a HUGE queen sized scrappy Irish chain, a baby quilt and a very large twin. Pretty respectable. This year I’ve worked on a very large queen since January and it’s still not done. Oh, well. It’s a very challenging pattern and I have to say I’ve enjoyed the challenge. But I don’t anticipate catching up with you!! Thanks so much for these scrap videos. They’re just great.
I am not a Christmas quilter, but I love your scrappy quilt! WOW! Love this pattern and the sashing did make a cool secondary design. Hope you have more videos coming-love these videos!❤
My Grandmother was the person who truly inspired me to quilt. She was part of a quilting bee at our church that auctioned off their beautiful quilts at our church bazaar every year to benefit the Elementary School. She also made many quilts all by herself. Every one of the 17 grandchildren got to dig through her closet of completed quilts to pick out just the perfect one as their wedding gift from her. No rotary wheels back then for sure. All of her patterns were created using the cardstock from old cereal boxes and were painstakingly traced to her fabric with a pencil. Every piece was cut out with a pair of scissors. She also used a treadle sewing machine. I believe she was at least 75 before her kids convinced her to get a portable electric sewing machine. She hated it, but it was getting harder and harder for her to go up and down the stairs to her sewing room. I made my first quilt when I was 16. The pieces were all cut out just like Grandma did hers. After that quilt, I decided that quilting was just not my thing as it took forever to trace and cut out every piece like she did. Several years later after I was married and expecting my first child, I decided that it was time to try quilting again. It didn't go much better. I was also horrible at handquilting!!! Fast forward a few more years and I learned that you could use a rotary wheel AND quilt with your sewing machine. Since then, I've probably made at least 300 quilts. Over 200 of them were donated to Project Linus.
Your Christmas quilt is beautiful. The fall quilt is also beautiful; however, I like the colors in it best (because my old High School colors are orange, black and white). This is another great scrap fabric buster. It doesn't have to be made with a Holiday theme. However, I see four hearts in each block (which are the Vs).
I absolutely look forward to these videos every single month. Now the 5 inch square videos too! I have gotten so many ideas and so much inspiration from your videos :D Thank you so much!
Do you have some design boards? To lay out the pieces, when you cut out a side project, or a main project, so you can work on sections and put them back in place, to keep organised. Put the whole project aside neatly etc. You could easily make a few with batting and fabric scraps, some cardboard or foamboard, cut to size, you can use different sizes depending on your block size, and store them in your bins to keep aside? Lori holt used a lot of them, nas a how to make them video.. They become free to re-use as you finish up quilt tops. Loving your ideas, all the best.
I get excited every time I see you have posted. I love your videos. I am a recent quilter and am growing concerned as my scraps accumulate. Thank you for easy patterns and such calm encouragement. I went to university at Ames (not an Iowa gal) and have lived in BC, Canada for the last 37 years. I feel far from that time and place, but every time I hear your voice (accent, I know you don't think you have one, but you do).. You sound just like my college roomate from Rockwell, Iowa. :). Such warm memories.
I really enjoy how your videos and how easy your tutorials are. I’m doing the summer mystery SAL with you Thanks for your tips about using your phone and pinning block sets together😮
I'm enjoying this series so much. Just discovered it a few days ago and have been binge watching it. I'm not even a quilter. I can't even sew. But I love your videos. Your voice is soothing, the work is methodical, and the end result is beautiful. It's such a fun concept working with these pre-cut strips. I love the no-waste aspect of it. And seeing all the random colors and patterns come together into something truly spectacular. I don't sew, but your videos are very much tempting me to get a sewing machine and start learning how to fiddle around.
These are some of my favorite videos! Love them. That Christmas quilt was something else!!! Beautiful. The Fall quilt too but I loved that Christmas quilt.
I dont know how i could have missed this video, but i think it might be my new favorite. I love these series you do, and have subscribed as a result. I dont really like Halloween colors, but yours turned out beautiful. But i love the Christmas. The sashing really sets of each block.

Yes! They are calm and soothing because of it. I love that so much.

Quilts are fabric and math!

👋👋🥰🥰
Why does your Bernina machine rock back and forth when you sew? Is it just the table?

Great use of leftover strips! Enjoyed the video!

Wonderful quilt! Thanks for your great ideas.
Wonderful video, you teach me so much. Please keep them coming! Thank you
Both quilts turned out great. Thanks so much for sharing .👍❤️🙂
Love how these turned out with your design-as-you-go method. Making design decisions at the moment is the heart of quilting in my opinion.

Just found your video. No annoying music. Thanks so much!😊
I thoroughly enjoyed your video!
Very nice quilt!!!!
I wonder if a jelly roll and a mini 2 charm packs would be enough
A jelly roll and 2 regular charm packs would get you quite a ways!
You inspire me
Love it💕
