If only people understood the time, attention and love that goes into each bespoke piece there would be a greater appreciation of all of it. Truly beautiful. Thank you!!
Machines ruined that for us. We don’t even know now how to appreciate this kind of work. There was a time when every piece of furniture used to be handmade and it would travel from generation to generation and would be so solid. Now we have IKEA.
@@ziniad I for one have never stepped foot in an IKEA store and have never owned anything from them. I refuse for the very reasons you just mentioned. I prefer quality and I prefer my furniture to be vintage or antique. That’s my personal choice for both aesthetics and quality.
@@ziniadNo machines ie industrialisation elevated billions out of generational proverty. The only people who don't appreciate handcrafted items are those who don't make them themselves or can't afford them, because the issue is the cost. If I make a crocheted teddy bear for example people love it. They're not willing to pay the £300 minimum that it would cost based on the time it takes to make it, but they do love it. (Which is why I generally only make gifts for people). Historically most people used to wear second hand clothes and hand me downs. The quality was better but the social class was evident since by the time the clothes were second hand they were out of fashion. So for people to be fashionable, cheap clothes are a must. It means paying people servant level wages because all clothes "bespoke" or otherwise are made by hand. The sewing machine doesn't work itself.
“Get out of your head and into your hands” is such a great saying in these stressful times. Slow stitching, so good for your mental health. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful design.
I used to make things like that. I remember it being called “patchwork” quilting. I always loved picking out the scraps from my kids out grown clothes.
That's art you created --- Creating something so beautiful from what others might ignore or throw away. But you see the worth and potential in scraps and create something useful and beautiful. You have a wonderful gift and talent!
So cute! Thank you for posting this! Embroidery is becoming a lost art. Your video is a nice reminder of how rewarding it can be to make ordinary things beautiful
This is my cup of tea, right up my alley and exactly how I spend my days; sewing Harris Tweed into blankets from selvedge and new tweed and selvedge Harris Tweed Yard bobbins, embroidering and blanket stitching together all the strips and I make swans, stars, and other ornaments in different shapes. I love your bag, and the style and textures, just beautiful!
You make all of your work look so easy. I can do the embroidery work. But when you start making your own patterns, thats where I get lost. I'm certainly going to try doing some of these. You've succeeded in inspiring me!
An exceptional piece of art. You gave so much of yourself into this precious little bag. You could not purchase this quality piece, and you will love it forever, hopefully the person you pass it to will appreciate the love you gave it. Thank you for sharing this precious gift.♥️
Awesome 👏 Can hardly see the fabric scraps mostly covered by your hand stitching. You are very creative! A Happy New Year to you and your loved ones from June in Singapore 🇸🇬
A piece of art out of what I was finding hard to believe was going to turn out looking like anything. What patience and skill you have, it is the loveliest glass case
❤❤❤love it ...for the love of sewing and creating ...never goes out of fashion. I see and appreciate the effort it takes to make something out of nothing ...scraps that can get tossed in the bin. thanks for the inspiration...keep going ...wonderfully done. You are talented. Keep sharing ❤❤❤
Just came upon your video and was wowed at the artistry in such a beautiful handbag. I am 73 and just started to take up embroidery and I love it. Obviously still in baby steps but I'm gobbling up all the fascinating artform in embroidery and am astounded!. What you did is amazing. I am in the process of making a Husif for myself and what you have done is what I want to do to the rags I've stitched together. I am concentrating on the seams right now and styling them but the individual patches are perfect for what you have done. Thank you so much for sharing. I have to say, when you took the scissors and cut away the frabric from your pattern my insides cringed. All that beautiful work, I would not be able to do that. Such precious stitchery. Anyway, I'll stop rambling and absolutely bow to your mastery. Love it.
I’ve watched this video several times now and could watch it again. Your skill level and creativity knows no bounds. Beautiful results. Cost effective and zero waste - love it and your channel. Can’t wait to see what you think of next. Thank you for keeping us entertained and maybe even learning something new.
It's a great idea, but too pretty to be a sunglasses case. I thought it was going to be a special ocassion evening purse. ❤ Your talent is remarkable. 😊
Nice eyeglasses case made literally from scratch. I had an Aunt who would make similar items. I use the pillowcase to this day that she made before passing from ALS. Impressive!
i said to myself..i can do this..i can do this too for each segment! but when u start doing the embroidery for every plain material..i already said..i cant do that much!!!😅😅😅😂😂😂. it soooo intricate!!! n beautiful ofcourse! love your creation definitely!!! thank you for recycling the scrap!! i love to see when ppl reused materials! when i was small i would go collect scrap from next door tailor of my house n do a lot of my doll's clothes but my kind of sewing! was 5/6 years old at that time! was so into it! when i grew up was into embroidery too! got a few made myself! but as i grew older starts highschool n university, i lose passion or probably didnt have time for this anymore! now i have kids. time just not enough for me! thank you for bringing back my childhood memory! love everything about this video of yours!❤❤❤
Oh my goodness, that’s BEAUTIFUL!!! Are you from Japan? The embroidery reminds me of shashiko! =) (I’ve only visited, but when I did, I fell in love with the culture.)
Oh my... the last stitches I were already tired of even watching 😂 Can't imagine I could ever finish this masterpiece. Hope your eyes and back don't hurt. Amazing result! ❤
One of the most beautiful bags i have ever seen. I am inspired. Hand stiching, what can i say beautiful. Colours, shapes, you make this look simple, but behind that are massive skill base. Thankyou

Bravo! 👏🏻🤗😊
I am amazed at you! Your artistic flair, your drawing and embroidery skills, your sewing abilities. I assume you created this pattern, too. What a beautiful piece. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤
This is stunning, and I truly admire your expert craftsmanship. My luck, I would spend days making this, and then lose it somewhere in a matter of hours!
WOW! Es asombroso el trabajo que lleva este arte! Si tuvieras que ponerle precio sería carísimo!!! Bella y excelente obra de arte. Y solo conenzó cn unos retazos de tela pequeños! Qué maravilla la mano del hombre...❤

People would expect to pay $15 for something like this on Etsy. We're so removed from the artistry of handmade goods these days, especially textiles.

My mom and her friends did this decades ago on the regular…pillows, handbags, lap quilts etc…nice to see it back. They called it crazy quilting

Not in Mexico. It’s still common.

But we all can do this 😊
Just start with something little.😊
No we cannot all do this .) and nor need we to

Do you sell your Harris tweed creati9ns?

I don't mean the embroidery patterns. I do my own all the time. Its the patterns of what you're embroidering on. Haha
