Thank you, Robert for answering my question about Sauron being thrown down. Your answer really clears up a lot and the quote from The Silmarillion makes total sense with your answer. You always take the time to be thorough in your responses and that means a lot to me!
I know that myself and my friends have discussed how much we'd love to re-read all the books before WoW comes, but we never get round to it. I'd love to hear semi-indepth breakdowns of each book. Not chapter by chapter, but just like the cliff notes. Because rewatching the series past S5 is a no 😂 and besides, the series miss out several characters, etc
@IDG Live suggestions for covering the D&E show -> 1. No breakdowns but lore difference videos where we systemically track the butterfly effect episode by episode 2. Episode specific topic deep dives (maybe ep 1's deep dive can be about Ser Arlan's character study) 3. Recommend using the live streams to do your original episode breakdowns & questions The logic behind the above is that, I suspect breakdown videos are being done by the more general channels especially because the books are out, hence low views for the hardcore channels. The above style of videos can ensure viewers come to your channel purely to "geek" out "in depth" (that's me with a pun on "In Deep Geek 😊)
Robert, have you discussed at some point (and correct me if I'm wrong), but wouldn't Galadriel have been ruler of Eregion before Celebrimbor in cannon timelines?
Celeborn was captured and broke free but can’t get out of Orc Territory so he has been pretending to be one. He’s gonna be one of the orcs that saw Galadriel and Elrond kiss so he gonna be all salty and jelly and mmmaaaadd when we first see him. 🙄
I also hated the battel - so silly even in a television context. The first wave of a smallish orc band breaks the walls simply. What was it made from? Certainly not elven architecture
I think this show will be forgotten as soon as it's over. Unfortunately, or fortunately in my perspective, nobody watched this show globally and it had so much absurdity and retconning in it that it will be a good thing to drop it in the dustbin of history.
The kiss was clearly an act to distract from Elrond handing over the brooch pin thing to Galadriel. I don't think it was supposed to be a legit romance between the two.
@@vitaminj7 why are you wasting your time commenting on us lamenting the lazy writing that is ruining something we hoped would be wonderful? Why can't you just move along and let us express disappointment that talentless hacks are destroying something we used to enjoy? 🫤
I feel bad for Robert having to constantly try and explain this terrible show and it's contradictions. Why are the orcs able to fight in the sun? Why didn't the elves actually want to protect eregion? Why did the orcs who were watching galadriel and elrond not see the lockpick? Etc
I truly can not understand how anyone likes this show. The characters are not fleshed out, their actions don't make sense, the show chooses spectacle over plot development, and nobody listens or talks to each other when they have conversations. Sauron has super magical powers, except when he doesn't, the rings have magical powers except when they don't. It would take all day to fully analyse all the mistakes / plot holes and terrible writing. The repurposing of LOTR dualogue is terrible implemented as well. Tom bombadil saying "ya well some people die oh well lol" is insane. The sacking of eregion was just bad. Why didn't the orcs brace the expected charge? Even with galadriel, they lose nothing by bracing with pikes still. The elves would've had a better chance of freeing galadriel if they continued the charge as well. Arondir died but then was fine? Eregion has a "thin part of their wall"? They have a cliff behind their fortress as well which weren't used, and the damming of the river was so absurd that it had to happen perfectly to be effective. Just contrivance upon contrivance and luck nonsense.
Love Robert and his streams though! It's probably a good thing you weren't invited to the screening though as a large portion of people involved with Amazon end up being paid shills (like their "superfans" who didn't care about the show).

Elrond's relationship with his future mother-in-law will be really complicated now 😅
31:47 Melian was the Maia who married Elu Thingol. Not Meriam.

And given the quality of elf archers, why did it take them so long to blow up the ravager? Lots of silly stuff

Finished or not we're still going to talk about it in 15 years. Or at least I hope so

The kiss that should never happen and turned a good episode into a wtf episode.
The kiss was clearly an act to distract from Elrond handing over the brooch pin thing to Galadriel. I don't think it was supposed to be a legit romance between the two.
I thought the same until they revealed that Galadriel gave him something that helped him escape. Watch the episode again.
So a single thing happening that you don't like makes you flip the table on the whole episode? That sucks
This show is a joke why are we wasting time here
This garbage show is just spiraling into nonsense. It breaks my heart. 😢
Why are you both wasting your time commenting on it? Move along and let people enjoy things 😘
@@vitaminj7 Amazon is taking a piss of true fans and Tolkien himself, so if you enjoy this abomination, good on you

No, why are you wasting your time here? Other people enjoy it, you don't, so just move on.
