Excellent work in explaining and simplifying the complexities written by the authors. It’s amazing how well crafted and complex are their novels. You channel helps to understand, and have visually mapped out the author’s narrative. I’ve appreciated that you’ve explained the social, political and military contexts of these complex epic novels.

Take the Mortal Kombat franchise as an example. There are the arcade games, the movies, the book and a cartoon show, all of which have different narratives. As terrible as some of it has been, the franchise keeps moving forward.
Perhaps in another 50 years we may even get another set of movies or something based on the works of Tolkien because the story is just that good (and companies like money). Could any company destroy this franchise? Not likely.

I feel is not worth the effort. I just come from being banned on Reddit for saying the rings of power show sucks and why it sucks. Hundreds, thousands of positive comments, very positive comments. They love the show, they couldn't care less about how is an insult to Tolkien. People don't care. I think we are in the minority. There must be like 20 million fans of the books alive vs 300 million Netflix users that would clap at anything on the screen. They couldn't care less if Thomas the tank engine turns to be Sauron at the end. Everything is "stunning and brave", nothing else matters. And if you complain, you are out of the conversation, your comment deleted and the farce continues.
I'm very sad. I think in a few decades there will be no more moral stories. Only moral relativism GARBAGE everywhere I look.

This is still one of the best made videos on YT. I’m always in awe at how much more lore there is. One of the best most beautifully crafted fictional universes. The fall of Arnor, the conquests of Gondor, the rise of dwarves, the first witch king war. There’s so much good media here it’s mind blowing.

The detail and inclusion of everything mentioned (or even suggested) in all of Tolkien-ism feels like a liberation. I can't believe it only took 3 hours, and now that its over that was not enough. I have read Tolkien’s books for nearly 45 yrs. The Peter Jackson films added to my pleasure. The soundtracks even more.
Your 3hr video does as well. I love the theme that I call “the long fight of good vs evil” …visible over the ages when one follows the storyline from age to age. It’s such a bittersweet tale- heroes arrive and are lost, evil persists generation after generation until the ultimate sacrifice is made to defeat it. And then a new spring of life emerges as the remnants of the old guard pass away.
I mourn and feel the gravitas of the heroism and courage that lived these stories. I romantically long for/wish that this WAS OUR REAL HISTORY.
Such is the talent of Tolkien.
I did escape “this world” while I watched your video and I remembered the Tolkien tales it’s based on.
And now I feel the melancholy of being back.
      Thanks
      Well done.

I’m all for incorporating other ideas into your work, but I can’t really think of any truly unique feature that Rowling invented. The books are entertaining for sure, I’m down for them, but theyre very juvenile compared to many many many other great works of literature and I don’t think Rowling deserves endless high praise or talked about as if her creative projects have been anywhere near as deep and authentic as Tolkien

Yes I've discovered that a few years ago, some band really imbue Tolkien tales/theme in their song and its crazy satisfying to listen to it and understand all the little details. It truly pay off to be a Tolkien geek.
Here some Artist/Album I found for the curious :
-Lind Erebros does beautiful music, awesome for reading or in general : *Elven Oratory - Rebirth of Light* (Covering the golden age of Valinor), *Elven Oratory - Noldolante* (Covering the Rebellion of Noldor and their battle to Morgoth), *Eleven Oratory - The Lay of Leithian* (Covering the Tale of Beren and Lúthien)
-Blind Guardian awesome Power Metal music inspired by Heroic Fantasy : *Nightfall in Middle Earth* (Covering a good part of the Silmarils, one of my all time favorite music album, for those little audio scenes that you wouldn't understand if you didn't read the Silmarillion, but hearing Morgoth Cry when he's tangled by Ungoliant is brillant or when Morgoth tell Sauron to run from the War of Wrath before Morgoth get caught by the Valar)
-Emyn Muil, Yes the artist named after the Emyn Muil where Frodo and Sam meet Gollum, does Atmospheric Black Metal, Symphonic Black Metal music. In some way it feels as if his music was imbued with Morgoth malice and I love it : *Turin Turambar Dagnir Glaurunga* (Cover the life of Túrin Turambar), *Elenion Ancalima* (Music inspired by Númenor)
-Aaron Dunn, beautiful Instrumental Music perfect for reading. Aaron mostly do small albums : *The Silmarillion Symphony Ep.1: The Deeps Of Time* (Cover the beginning of Arda), *The Fall Of Fingolfin* (The second part of The Silmarillion Symphony, title mostly self explanatory), *The Fall of Gondolin* (could be The Silmarillion Symphony Ep.3 but its only two, way too short, music tracks but still pleasant to listen to), *Finrod* (Clearly inspired by Athrabeth Finrod ah Andreth the fourth part of the book Morgoth's Ring)
-Lonely Mountain Band, Traditional Folk Music perfect for starting your day : *Beyond the Western Seas* (Thematic music for the Elves), *Second Breakfast* (Thematic music for the Hobbits), *Songs of the Dwarves* (Thematic music for the dwarves)
-Galadhrim, as it's name imply it's like if the Galadhrim (Elves that live in Lothlórien) were playing music : *Galadhrim* (how original, right? but it's a small artist and its first album, Focus or related on many well known Eleves such as Galadriel, Fëanor, Nimrodel or Tinúviel), *The Elder Days* (Silmarillion related with some good narrative music)
-Summoning, Atmospheric Black Metal/Symphonic Black Metal. Another Artist that has imbue Morgoth style, that's typically the music I'd imagine Morgoth or Sauron would be singing in his dungeon or during the Ainulindalë : *Minas Morgul* (from the first age to the third age)
-Archangel, Progressive Rock/Rock Opera : *The Akallabêth* (As it's title imply, it's a narrative music album about the Akallabêth, Aka The Falll of Númenor)
Here's what I've found and still listen to them often, But I'll say that I have a crush for *The Akallabêth* and *Nightfall in Middle Earth* album as I often end up singing the music with our without the music accompanying me. To anyone, feel free to let me know what Music/Albums/Artists inspired by Tolkien you listen as I am glad I could share my passion of those Music/Albums/Artists. I'm always open for suggestions and I'd love to expand my library. If you read it this far I wanna say *Thank You* for your time.

In melee the Uruks would be in serious threat but with Rohans armies making up mostly cavalry and would loose volleys of arrows apon the orcs before charging is a devastating combo, we only need to look to the Huns and Mongols for results.

I'm a huge fan of Star Wars, and it is an amazing story with far better and more in-depth world building than most works of fiction. In terms of the timeline it covers it overshadows Tolkien's legendarium significantly in terms of time and the number of individual stories contained within.
But the quality is very hit or miss, especially considering so many different people have contributed to it over the decades.
In terms of consistent quality of storytelling and world building, Tolkien is unmatched in my opinion, and I don't know of any one person who has created as much as he has on his own, especially to such a high standard. I take my hat off to Tolkien. He truly was in a league of his own. A genius level IQ no doubt.
