The Pentax 645 is so underrated.
Your channel has given me so much inspiration lately, Love your style and approach to photo. Keep killing it!!
🥹😭
I love the photos you got on Portra 800 in the harsh morning light. Sometimes loading the wrong film can still yield great results.
I love that shooting with film makes you push past the fear of imperfections and simply try to capture the moment --and then move on. There's no checking to see if it came out right or deleting an image that didn't turn out as you hoped and the only way to improve at your craft is to DO your craft. And I love that you are having fun doing your craft.
Thank you for the good example 🙏🏻
Hey Taylor! Photography trips are always so fun! Great job with this one!
The last photos are so great! Felt them a lot 👏🏼👏🏼
the cinematography in this video is so damn surreal !! pure cinema ! amazingly directed
loveeeee this, slow paced, educational, lifestyle. good vibes all round.
i love the photo of the man in the doorway, especially becasue of the story behind that haha. there are so many times that I see how good a photo can be of a complete stranger and bail just like that haha glad you were able to go back and capture that moment!
The desert photos from inside the RV are 👌
What a nice set of images! Thank you for taking us along.
I love your videos, the vibes you're giving etc. Thanks for those little rays of sunshine every now and then
Thank you for taking the time to ask this videos, really like your way of storytelling
Your voice, the music, and the shots are like therapy to me.

I love your videos! Very great!
Epic road trip photos through some magical spaces. Thanks for putting this together (gang)
Dang! Cool trip. So jealous. It looks like so much fun, even during the crisis.
Beautiful images, especially loved Coney Island B&W images.
Loving it!! Great editing and storytelling 🤲
I did an overnight trip to Alabama Hills in the Eastern Sierras recently. Such a beautiful place. You captured the area really well
Lovely video 😊 I drifted off watching it. So calming.
Such beautiful photos and footage, the images of the sand dunes are breathtaking. I love traveling and seeing the world. The great thing about the gift of photography is that you get to capture these great memories to look back on forever.🌸✨
Some very nice work there. Beautifully done.
simply the coolest - loved it !
Thanks for sharing Taylor! Really enjoy watching the video and all the photos are beautiful 😍
Thanks, love your style.
Awesome video and photos - brought back great memories of my road trip around California with my family
This was such a lovely video. I've also (almost) exclusively been shooting b&w lately as well, partly inspired by your decision to do so. I just find that I can express myself better when I'm not worrying about color
Off season resorts are so odd, and rarely seen. Makes the Coney Island super interesting. Be an interesting theme for a project
Glad to see the color photos. I think so much is missed with just black and white.
The quality of your videos is frankly insane haha... but so are your images, you are a fantastic photographer! Love your work
One of the best videos of the entire channel! Damn, few locations in the US have such a vibe… Lovely 😊
been missing my grain checks I needed that one :) great video!
desert section was so nice. jealous on this cloudy saturday, makes me wanna shoot!
I really enjoyed watching the video. Great commenting, pics, music....👏🏼
Thank you for what you do. I’ve just started getting into video and making videos and I find what you are doing very inspiring. So just wanted to say thank you and look forward to following your future work. Ben
Recently picked up a Minolta Xg-M and getting inspiration from your videos and channel. Great work and awesome seeing film with travels. Film has a such a great aesthetic 💯
Love your Soundtrack!
What an excellent video! All amazing images and heaps of inspiration to go and shoot now. ❤
So cool. NY definitely is on my bucket list 😍
thanks for sharing your adventures! - motivates me to get out and do the same! Love the fun you were having with seagulls - and that b&w at Cooney Island? Chef's kiss!
That death valley sand dune shot... wow
Great photo entertainment ! Thank you! Hope to see more soon from you! Keep it up!
NGL, it was nice having you, Mr Rig Daddy & the crew in NYC. We had an early 70’s (in March) & 90’s (This April)… My CSA 👨🌾 Veggie Shares start in June so this mix of great weather & soaking rains means the 1st month (and Hopefully the July Tomatoes 🤞) are going to be EPIC! May your travels be inspired & the images captured be the epitome of CHIAROSCURO! 🖼️📸🎨🎭💡🕶️
This is really great stuff… thanks. 😀
once again, i love the structure of your videos, music, and of course the photos, they are sooo good!! you are influencing me to shoot on film again. Thank you!
Agreed, so cinematic and beauuuutiful! 💙💛💙💛💙
Such fire shots and I love the videography style. Any tips on how to achieve that film-like look when shooting video?
Grrrrrain Ccccheeecck!!!! Yewwwww! banger photos and great story telling! Big fan.
I just came across your channel. Normally I’d be like “ugh, another kid from Portland”, but WOW! I’m really enjoying your b&w series. It’s so awesome to see young people with a new love for film. I loved half my life in Nevada so I completely feel your love of the desert. Keep doing what you are doing! I can’t wait to see what’s next.
I loved this, felt like a short film docu on T.Pendleton, awesome stuff 🔥😮💨
Love the shots from Coney Island. I live on the Jersey Shore and the vast majority of what I shoot is resort areas in the offseason. There's a magic to these places that's hidden when they're filled with tourists. They're interesting with tourists too, but give me a boardwalk in December and I'm happy. I even put out of zine (first of a planned series) of photos shot down the shore in the offseason.
Super fun! Photography plus road trips is such a combination. I really love the Pentax 645 shots.
Last time I was in Coney Island, I was fitting it in at the end of a trip so it was like 7AM on a rainy October morning, but there were still those crazy winds blowing the sand across the beach.
Hate raining days .
Very cool video. Love the photos in this and all of your videos! :)
The light blue and gold 👌👌👌
Love this!
Cool! all the beautiful photos and videos as well !!
Aside from your terrific photos your hair looks awesome 😎
Love the photos & love the Pentax 645, under rated & such fun to shoot. A fun place to shoot is Tent Rock in New Mexico, small area but lots of photo opportunities.
Having grown up and spent most my life in NYC. I can attest to the personality and inspiration that Coney Island provides.
gotta go back on a hot summer day
Nice cinematic look on you video!!! Love the images as well!!!
Just found your channel - loved the video!
That shot at 3:11😮 just wow honestly. Love it!

These from nyc are the photos I’ve seen on your channel so far
Absolutely outstanding shot at 16:45
Searles Valley is so other worldy that I half expected you to come across Will Robinson, Dr. Smith and the robot from Lost in Space.
Love your videos - cheers from Leipzig, Germany! Maybe one day you make it over here! :)
Your work is incredible as always! Had me wondered which b&w film stock you used the most?
Cinestill XX no doubt :)
You have such a soothing voice.
God had a good day when created you...i really love your face , haircut, voice, etc
Pentax 645 crew! Nice photos! 🤟☺
i love how you almost treat shooting bnw like it's a diet lol. amazing work at always taylor!
i miss my 645n the shutter feel is unmatched
Absolutely amazing video. I will be missing the sheesh old graincheck song tho.
Happy to have the new and improved grain check :D . Great Video, I love road trips and the memories that come with roadtrip pics. Just out of curiosity, I was surprised to see you grab color film I remember you mentioning doing a 1-year bnw-only challenge, has it already been a year? or was it only only for an specific type of pics, etc? as someone who doesn't shoot bnw i was curious to hear your thoughts after such an experience
The colour was for client work, I think? It's her personal stuff that's on B&W. She says in the video it's been six months since she shot anything in colour.
Hey was that one of the old but now retro collectable Kodak film bags in the intro? Great video, lovely camera to use the pentax. Did you hand meter for each shot, or rely on the onboard meter? Keep up the great work, Harry.
those photos at the desert came out really dope! did you ever manage to take photos of the moon rising? i had a similar situation in yosemite, driving out of the park and we noticed the moon peeking out over the yosemite valley and we had to stop to photograph it; those ended up being some really sick astro photos in bw.
No moon rising photos unfortunately. So sad. But it’s in my brain!!!!
Thank you, and good luck! Following and watching)))....
Beautiful video
flames
Random question but where did you get your blue puffer jacket?
W H O A A A A ! So good. Thank you❤ 🏜
Always inspired by a graincheck video 😮
i’m sorry which camera was the video shot on please? full frame bmp6k? love the lens flares
LIT ! I live in lone pine 🔥🔥🤙🏽
Look forward to these videos every time that notification drops. Also cool to see some color film sneak in! What black and white film did you use in NYC?
Cinestill XX :)
@@graincheck should’ve known! Beautiful shots ✌🏽
