I love that shooting with film makes you push past the fear of imperfections and simply try to capture the moment --and then move on. There's no checking to see if it came out right or deleting an image that didn't turn out as you hoped and the only way to improve at your craft is to DO your craft. And I love that you are having fun doing your craft. Thank you for the good example 🙏🏻
i love the photo of the man in the doorway, especially becasue of the story behind that haha. there are so many times that I see how good a photo can be of a complete stranger and bail just like that haha glad you were able to go back and capture that moment!
I just came across your channel. Normally I’d be like “ugh, another kid from Portland”, but WOW! I’m really enjoying your b&w series. It’s so awesome to see young people with a new love for film. I loved half my life in Nevada so I completely feel your love of the desert. Keep doing what you are doing! I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Love the shots from Coney Island. I live on the Jersey Shore and the vast majority of what I shoot is resort areas in the offseason. There's a magic to these places that's hidden when they're filled with tourists. They're interesting with tourists too, but give me a boardwalk in December and I'm happy. I even put out of zine (first of a planned series) of photos shot down the shore in the offseason.
Love the photos & love the Pentax 645, under rated & such fun to shoot. A fun place to shoot is Tent Rock in New Mexico, small area but lots of photo opportunities.
This was such a lovely video. I've also (almost) exclusively been shooting b&w lately as well, partly inspired by your decision to do so. I just find that I can express myself better when I'm not worrying about color
I love that Pentax 645 you’re shooting. It’s the perfect blend of auto and manual with easy toggles and it’s the only camera I own that I don’t feel guilty about NOT shooting ( like the Hassy ) because I shoot the Pentax constantly. Try the 35mm 3.5. The close focus is about 12 inches to the film plane. It’s my favorite camera! ( shhhh ! ) You got some VERY nice shots there !!!
Recently picked up a Minolta Xg-M and getting inspiration from your videos and channel. Great work and awesome seeing film with travels. Film has a such a great aesthetic 💯
Such beautiful photos and footage, the images of the sand dunes are breathtaking. I love traveling and seeing the world. The great thing about the gift of photography is that you get to capture these great memories to look back on forever.🌸✨
NGL, it was nice having you, Mr Rig Daddy & the crew in NYC. We had an early 70’s (in March) & 90’s (This April)… My CSA 👨🌾 Veggie Shares start in June so this mix of great weather & soaking rains means the 1st month (and Hopefully the July Tomatoes 🤞) are going to be EPIC! May your travels be inspired & the images captured be the epitome of CHIAROSCURO! 🖼️📸🎨🎭💡🕶️
Thank you for what you do. I’ve just started getting into video and making videos and I find what you are doing very inspiring. So just wanted to say thank you and look forward to following your future work. Ben
Super fun! Photography plus road trips is such a combination. I really love the Pentax 645 shots. Last time I was in Coney Island, I was fitting it in at the end of a trip so it was like 7AM on a rainy October morning, but there were still those crazy winds blowing the sand across the beach.
once again, i love the structure of your videos, music, and of course the photos, they are sooo good!! you are influencing me to shoot on film again. Thank you!
Love your channel. Already decided to give up digital. Looking for courage to put a new battery and some film into my old Yashic T4 and see if if still works. Back then I never missed a shot with that cheap Contax.
thanks for sharing your adventures! - motivates me to get out and do the same! Love the fun you were having with seagulls - and that b&w at Cooney Island? Chef's kiss!
Look forward to these videos every time that notification drops. Also cool to see some color film sneak in! What black and white film did you use in NYC?
How you like shooting with the Pentax 645, I’ve had mine since 1992. Up until 2005ish I used mine solely for Landscape photography. Then I tried digital and just hated that format. Then bought a Nikon F3, love that camera too but have a real issue trying to get focus. My eyes aren’t what they used to be. I’d love to find a 6x6 but they to damn expensive so it’s going back to my 645 for me. Great video and awesome images!
those photos at the desert came out really dope! did you ever manage to take photos of the moon rising? i had a similar situation in yosemite, driving out of the park and we noticed the moon peeking out over the yosemite valley and we had to stop to photograph it; those ended up being some really sick astro photos in bw.
Your channel has given me so much inspiration lately, Love your style and approach to photo. Keep killing it!!
🥹😭
The Pentax 645 is so underrated.
Your voice, the music, and the shots are like therapy to me.

I love the photos you got on Portra 800 in the harsh morning light. Sometimes loading the wrong film can still yield great results.
Off season resorts are so odd, and rarely seen. Makes the Coney Island super interesting. Be an interesting theme for a project
When I was a kid my father would take me for the rides and hotdogs. Thanks for the memories.Love your videos keep them coming
i love the photo of the man in the doorway, especially becasue of the story behind that haha. there are so many times that I see how good a photo can be of a complete stranger and bail just like that haha glad you were able to go back and capture that moment!
your photos make me want to take photos
Glad to see the color photos. I think so much is missed with just black and white.
