The lighting and composition in the beach shot at 11:42 is pretty damn incredible, nicely done. Also nice to hear that the coffee at Surfjack is good, as we are going in a couple weeks and staying there.

A trip the wife and I def want to take someday. Also, the colors from the various stocks were so good! Reminds me of our trip to Cancun awhile back where I shot Pro Image 100, loved it. Ektar is also a film I have shot once and want to shoot again but for some reason havn't even bought another roll.

8:50 Hahaha! I was expecting as much! The shutter speed is probably fixed at something like 1/100s or something on those cameras, even with fresh film it's a challenge to get usable results.

glad you guys came out to hawaii and hung out on oahu for a little bit. For us locals it is the "Big City". Most people fly in and go directly to Maui / Kauai / Big Island. Great shots and good times. I walk waikiki strip probably 3-4 times a week and shoot street so it is fun seeing other people's views of my hometown!

Excellent video, Kaleb! I feel like I was there in Hawaii too. A lot changed since I was last there in 1985. I took lots of pics then with my Olympus XA2 and tons of Kodacolor 100 film. I still have that camera and it still works. Stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki. You guys did a lot more fun stuff (and more alcohol haha) and went to other islands than I did. Glad the tuna was good, and good coffee. All they offered in 1985 was Kona coffee which was very strong. Had lots of macadamia nuts then too! The ribs looked yummy! More great places to eat now. Food was expensive back then too compared to the mainland. Loved the wide film shots. The abandoned hotel was awesome! Thanks for sharing your adventures! Aloha! Cheers from NJ.

We went to Kauai last November and stayed at the Kauai Shores so we drank at the Lava Lave Beach Club almost every night. Probably at that very table.

Wonderful shots; the ones with the pano back are especially tasty. And if you find fish truly ruined for you now, the only solution is to just go higher: Japan's east coast is supposed to be pretty good on fresh tuna 😉.
