This video was... "fine, I guess."
😂😂
🤣
jason is pretty fine ngl
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
A 3 hour grainydays video is exactly what I wanted for Christmas 🎄
Edit: As an Indiana boy, I can confirm that we don't exist.
omlll i didnt realise it was 3 hours till i saw ur comment 30 mins flew by
Came to the comments in the middle of watching, saw your comment and only then noticed that the video is 3h haha
Jason single-handedly rebalancing the universe from a billion Shorts and TikToks. Not all heroes wear capes. Or pants.
He's got reels? I must find them He has completely transformed my photography, and brought it back to life. Thanks
This is probably his best video yet. It actually feels like we’re all taking a journey here
Right!! Also the longest video i watched on youtube fully! 😊
Unreal video mate. The amount of effort it takes to not only film such a journey and then edit it and all the photos too is insane. Massive respect to you. Easily the best photography UA-cam channel. Can’t wait for the next one x
A 3 hour video, right before Christmas eve? Thank you for blessing us Jason. May your holidays be flamin' hot!
Took me several days to watch this whole video and I have to say, it was worth watching every minute. Such an awesome trip, and the images were even better.
It’s not every day I instantly click a three hour long UA-cam video and watch the damn thing start to finish, but this was just great, Jason. As someone not even remotely into motorcycles, I was captivated by that aspect of your trip and its implications on photography. This video really seems to be the culmination of you producing the kind of content you are interested in, versus chasing any sort of algorithmic dragon. I deeply respect that, and thoroughly enjoyed this adventure.
I’m about 30 minutes in and I’m absolutely loving the video so far! I’m going to continue the video this evening after dinner. Anyone else watch his long form content like this? It’s as amazing a feeling as remembering you have some left over pizza you can still eat!
I do, theres literally so much to learn from him. Even the technique of shooting 800t overexposed during daylight.
This just reminded me that I have left over pizza to eat… awesome
Probably only a few of your viewers have any idea how exhausting it is to ride a motorcycle day after day, especially in the heat. Props for making the trip by bike. Always been a dream of mine.
Three weeks through Italy this July haha... I felt so bad for him when he said he was doing 300 miles a day and it made me so nervous to see him in short sleeves in sun like that! Wonderful tour though, I would love to cross the US on a motorcycle someday.
I’ve done 850 miles in a day a couple of times. Memorable but very difficult!
The pain of sitting at a light in full gear and 100 degree heat. pure hell.
@@CarneAsadaFries_ honestly, I was pleasantly surprised this summer - I thought it would be worse. I'm a new rider, last summer was my first season. I went to Italy and thought I'd be boiled alive with my black helmet and all. But, with a light-weight summer jacket and motorcycle jeans instead of leather gear, it was surprisingly bearable, even with a balaclava under the helmet. But you do get strange looks walking into a café dressed like that when everyone else is in shorts and tank tops (including the local motorcyclists haha)
Sitting in the heat on a Harley with an exhaust header two inches from your thigh. Now that’s not fun!
I "saved up" the videos from the last 2 months for a cozy christmas binge, just to be presented with a 3 hour mega film. This truly is the season to be jolly. Thanks a lot, Mr Kummerfeldt.
It's amazing what they can do with CG nowadays. The plotline was a little thin, but the special effects definitely did not disappoint. The motorcycles looked incredible, the 2 main people looked a little off, but hey this isn't Avatar budget.
Right as I’m on the verge of giving up on my photography career Jason comes along with enough inspiration to keep me going for all of 2023!
with just one single video
Babe, wake up, new grainydays just dropped
70 km/beaver had me dying, lovely shots and amazing video Jason
I feel like Jason has a very organized, or very insane working schedule around recording and editing videos. It's kinda impressive how relatively regular he posts, considering how big some of his projects are. He should make a video about it.
Grainydays on the first day of Christmas break? The best gift
A 3 hour long Grainydays epic movie?
YES PLEASE!!!!!
This was a spiritual experience. I watched all 2:47:51 over the span of about a week and every time I moved my cursor to check my progress, I'd let out a small sigh knowing I was just that much closer to finishing it. Thank you, Jason. Fucking masterpiece.
I’ve watched a lot of travel videos in my time but this one without a doubt has more gas stations per minute than any other one I’ve ever watched
wouldnt have bet my life savings on you doing a motorcycle trip across the country but here it is
I wont watch a 3hr Avatar movie but ill definitely watch this! Fantastic content! Thanks for documenting ur trip for us.
Thanks for including my broad aussie accent in your awesome road trip video Jason! Hopefully one day soon I will visit the US and you will feature in one of my videos 📸🎞️🙋🏻♀️thanks for all your support this year. I’ll be hitting you up for round two of my podcast in 2023 so brush up on your serial killers 😅😉
What a legend. Thank you for what you do, Jason. I'm sure at times the "work" of it all gets heavy. Just know that there's a lot of us out there that genuinely appreciate your time and effort.
I really enjoy when you make long videos like this!
Edit: HOLY SHIT THAT'S BIG NEWS
Holy crap… I was like “no bloody way can he put together a commentary for a 3-hour video”. Well done!
I had a feeling it was a in testing aero chrome by the fact it was turning non infared absorbing things colors. Super excited to see what’s to come. Rad movie btw
im not up to date but i just fin this video, ever find out where to buy if it finished testing and got released
The documentation of your trip is not only epic, but to be extremely commended!
i was gonna watch for a little while before going to bed but i’m already 47mins in. only grainydays could make a 3hrs long video that i’d watch over and over again
What did I do to deserve this almost 3 hour epic? Thank you!
One of your best works ever Jason! Thank you for blessing us with this masterpiece
I think a long trip like this should be an annual event, I really enjoy these road trip videos.
YES, my favorite things, motorcycles and film photography! Welcome to the motorcycling world Jason, stay safe!
Not only is this a wonderful photography video, I think this is one of the greatest road trip docs I've ever seen in my life.
This was awesome, Jason! Thanks for sharing your fantastic photos and adventures with us. Looking forward to more great stuff in 2023. Wishing all the best to you, Monica, and Baxter.
Legit, loved every second of this. Also, hope that testing phase is over soon and we can all shoot that aero film shit.
Very ambitious trip. Enjoyed it. Can't even imagine the amount of editing this took. You and Tim will treasure this memory and the hardship and beauty you got to endure
Literally watched this over the course of a week for that single tidbit of info about the Aerocrhome. Well played sir.
I watched this over the course of the last few days, and was patiently looking forward to what came next. First time commenting but I couldn’t go without saying congrats! Great videos and beautiful photos
Usually these road-trip videos are pretty boring, but your narrative and penchant for film made this really enjoyable- welcome to motorcycling!
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better … and Grainydays goes out and gets a motorcycle. Welcome to my world! Two-wheeled travel and photography just go together.
2 hour grainydays video 👏 so excited also it’s actually close to 3 hours
A fantastic achievement on all counts. I appreciate the huge amount of time and energy that goes into making something like this. Thank you.
Two of my favorite things. Photography and motorcycles. Thank you Jason for the great videos. Looks like it was an amazing trip!
Grainydays rides a motorcycle now?!? My favorite photography channel just became my fave moto photography channel :) Thanks for the inspiration as always, I'm hoping to make my own coast to coast journey on my bike some day and photography along the way will be vital - this was a great way to get the creative juices flowing - haven't finished the video yet but thought I'd say "thanks" in advance!
looks whos here!
May I say... Monica is a gem. this was an epic journey and you did a good series of pictures and video to document the trip. Cool
what an absolute BEAST of a video and an epic trip. Major kudos for you guys doing this on bikes... man.. I know I'm not capable of doing that, so all the power to you and Tim on that one. I'm kinda echoing what's already been said, but I truly appreciate the amount of work you put into your videos (especially this super long form). You're one of the few people I'd sit and watch something like this for, and that is a testament to not only your photography, but your ability to entertain. Super stoked to hear about this faux aerochrome business. I'm 100% on board if it becomes a thing.
I haven't even watched yet but I'm just here to say thank you Jason, super excited to watch!!
it took 4 days to watch, but i've done it and it was awesome, great film, blown away by how well the honda rebel seemed to handle the whole trip no problems, other than rusty bolts, also love the aerochrome shots, but i gotta say as cool as the pink infrared of the aerochrome is i really like what it does to water, and pools, looks like a sheet of see through ice. literally just found your channel this week and already ebay'd my first point and shoot 35mm, surprisingly it was 5 dollars.
This is awesome, Jason. It's exactly what I'd be doing with my camera and motorcycle here in the Netherlands...if I had friends
Astonishing watch. I loved that you shared the experience of your road trip, and not just a photo discussion. Thanks for sharing this, even though the time it must have taken to edit makes me feel a bit unwell.
really enjoyed the long-form video, and also appreciated you sharing what looks and sounds like an incredible experience
I remember Jason vaguely mentioning that he's a visual effects artist. But has anyone ever take a look at his IMDb page? Some quite impressive credits.

if the aerochrome clone is a lightroom preset that'll be my final straw
Just finished watching over the course of a week. 15 minutes at a time. Something mesmerising about the format, like hanging out with mates. Loved it. Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant story... Thank you for getting me out of general house duties over the last few days... Thanks dude, keep up the amazing work!
Dude the glasshouse shots (1:14) on Aerochrome look amazing!!
edit: just finished watching and it was really cool man!
So it's not Aerochrome, I'm intrigued. Also whatever this is, I wanna shoot it, you got some killer shots during this trip with this film stock!
2 hours 47 mins of Jason??!!??!! Jason.... you are an absolute f*****g diamond my friend. Christmas wishes from Wales UK
Love you work and this series!! Matt’s work is a incredible document of the big apple
Thank you for bringing us with you on this journey!
I cannot believe I watched the whole video in one sitting. it was epic.
This is bold length content in a sea of shorts I’m here for This!
An epic journey and an epic film! Well done, mate, and thanks for sharing. Mary Christmas 🎄
First of all, congratulations for this documentary, the editing is at another level, the normality shown correctly (nothing extravagant or cheesy), a visual and audio delight! You or probably Tim managed to exemplify the aesthetics that belong only to the US, sometimes simple/common locations where only an experienced eye can exemplify their uniqueness. Big hugs, all the best and I hope for more similar experiences!
Anyone got any info on this Aerochrome clone?
Daddy Jason gave us an early Christmas present which was a 3 hour video for us ❤
The perfect balance, proper Slow TV, in the nicest possible way. so relaxing to watch yet so interesting seeing your selection of captures. really enjoyed this. sitting in the Uk feel like I've just been on the trip with you. thanks
super rad, really enjoyed watching this over the Christmas break. thank you
So sick! Really enjoyed this whole journey 🔥I wonder if the difference in Aerochrome colors is due to altitude?
Well done man. I'm struggling to edit together a week-long cycling trip from 2 rolls and a 128GB SD; I don't know how you organise yourself so well but I'm taking notes.
Finally finished this one....excellent journey! You're so lucky to have the opportunity to do something like this, thank you for sharing it with us
Incredible video! Been struggling with some stuff but this video, and your dry sense of humor, had me smiling and chuckling often. Props to you for all the hard work it took to pull this (the trip, the video and all the inspiring photos) masterpiece off. ❤
Ah yes, another road trip video to add to the “constant replay” playlist.
As a fellow Tim, I feel extremely represented in this flick 🙌
I’m that Tim. I represent you brother 😂
@@tcgrey5703 Hahah, cheers man! Happy New Year!
Dude thanks for bringing us along. Awesome video like always.
Thank you for this video. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, Monica and Baxter
if you think i’m going to watch a three hour video instead of spending the holidays with my family… you’re absolutely right
Now I have to rewatch the whole thing and count how many gas station pull ins are in it.
If you do, please make a timecode list in a new comment. I thought about it but it was too late and I'm too lazy!
So fun to watch. A great adventure.Thank you for sharing.
What a beautiful video ! Trip of a lifetime for sure !! Thank you for sharing this
You inspire me to not be afraid of taking crappy photos.
EKTACHROME CHRISTMAS?!
that always comes in January after the Christmas
ok I will binge all your recent longer videos in my post-holidays hangover probably. perfect, looking forward to it already :D
This is so beatiful and calming. Thanks man
Impressive work! I'm happy to see the Waffle House is available as a print, that one really stood out to me. I feel like all the "aerochrome" shots would make a great photo book, too.
Probably the best story based video yet!! Love it!! ❤ you can experience the differences in each states!
Never knew how much I needed videos like this. Im REALLY enjoyin these uploads ! Thank You
best vlog ever, jason, for me there is no need looking other movies in 2022 any more...thank you for sharing your wonderful trip!
Dude, what a masterpiece. Would love to learn more about the workflow of shooting and saving the images and videos in a long trip like this. Mad props, Jason!
This is the kind of video I’ve been looking for. Great stuff 🔥.
Absolutely loved this Jason! Had to watch in 2 parts (had to walk the dog. You get it.) Pick a film project and go for it! The videos your making are as great as the pics. Informative and so entertaining. I'm really enjoying them all. Thanks so much for sharing your gifts with all of us. Cheers!
This is a great video, impressive work to put this together and keep the viewer engaged for close to three hours. Also some great photos - love your HP5 pictures!
Can't say more than wow. This trip was awesome and this video too. Thanks for alle the work man.
I've been intermittently watching this all day.
Great work, thanks for the wonderful Christmas present!
God damn man, what a journey. Seems like something you’ll cherish forever…
Amazing video, watched all the way through, your photos are beautiful, all love! :)
This was awesome, loved seeing the open road and you guys battling through the hurricane
Amazing video. Watched start to finish. Loved the whole thing. Thank you!
Just watching this in England what a great video one of the best I have seen the effort and time you must have spent editing and putting the video together is greatly appreciated 👍
I really enjoyed watching this ! Glad that it randomly popped up on my tv when I had UA-cam playing for background noise … but once this video came up it had me sit down and really tune in!
Just want to say that the still video work from this trip is my favorite part. The 4x5 view and the film-like coloring is just special to me 🤠
