I agree that the mana drain is a reasonable problem to solve. Might have to drop damage aspects for resource aspects. So many build options and trade offs. I’m super excited for this season! A little off topic; My thoughts were that a verathial-spark-splintering build would be a great way to get nearly 200% attack speed on spark for the unstable procs, with perhaps enough mana gen from conj mastery to sustain a Lucarion helm if we are lucky enough to also have a starless.

Is Blizzard the way to go for *Hard Core* Sorc? I'm looking to try out Hard Core Sorc this season as a change of pace until the expansion hits. Any Hard Core advice is appreciated - thanks!
I didn't play much end game but I played both SC and HC sorc and Blizzard I feel would be my top pick for HC, it feels so safe, just covering your screen in CCs for events and making it to like the 30th event wave as the monsters spawn already frozen. There isn't many other builds that excel at that that well. And the fact that you can just run through any area and dungeon and everything basically kills/freezes itself by chasing after you. Falling in love with Blizzard and getting to do damage while always on the move has made it extremely difficult for me to want to try any other builds where I have to channel or stand still more.
But do you think I lose a lot of damage using staff? And about the aspects, which ones do you recommend using considering that I have the Harlequin, Starless and Blue Rose
Im fine with these changes. They seem to be preparing to make big changes after the expansion so all this bandaid buffs are enough for me. Sorc will have a LOT of viable builds now. And im fine waiting for the expansion to have paragons and enchantments reworkes. I wanna try Crown of Lucion with fireball, I think all that mana we can get might make it work well
With Blue Rose, can't you just drop the Glacial aspect and blizzard completely and use e.g. ice shards or like ball lightning to spawn the ice spikes? Then, the lucky hit ice spikes are more targeted at where the enemy is, so maybe don't even need to use the frozen tundra aspect for increased size. Then you can use some actually dmg boosting aspects to increase ice spike dmg instead of 2-3 aspects just to modify the ice spikes size/spawning. Wonder if the Greater Ice Shards effect applies to Blue Rose as well, i.e. it treats all enemies as frozen when you have barrier, giving you 3x the chance to spawn ice spikes...
I had this same idea, but did some maths and decided bliz and glacial is much better for an ice spikes build. With 200% lucky hit bonus, the chance of one shard proccing an ice spike on a frozen enemy is 43.2%. There are 5 shards per cast. It’s not unreasonable to get 3 casts per second and all of them proccing a second ice shards cast. So that’s 30 shards per second and approx 12 ice spikes per second… again, this is assuming the target is frozen. It’s also assuming the ice spike doesn’t double proc as this is the same between glacial and shards blue rose. Bliz glacial procs an ice shard every 0.5 seconds irrespective of whether the target is frozen. So 6 blizzard casts will do roughly the same number of ice spikes, and you don’t need crazy rolls on a fists of fate, and bliz could proc more ice spikes from the blue rose lucky hit. Perhaps the ice shards damage and any extra multipliers(?) makes up for the difference in reduced number of ice spikes, but I would be surprised. The bliz gear is much easier to get.

nice recap. Flamescar is actually even better then it looks. There is some interesting spaghetti code with it, when using conflag. It makes those sparks that fly apply the burning as well during your inc channel. Which is weird, but u can test it even in s4. and the crazy part is this burning effect can lh.
It's only apply the every 3 seconds dot explosion with one of those embers every three seconds and isn't and advantage. It can actually be a detriment it the ember that has that effect applied flies off and hits a barrel or crate instead of an enemy.
The unfortunate part is that incinerate works off Average Weapon Damage, not Weapon DPS. Because staves are 1.0 APS instead of 1.2 like Wand and focus, Staves are intrinsically superior for incinerate. Unless they fix that, Staff will still be about 20% more damage (35% or so when you count the 500% additive you lose) unless you're trying to do something exotic or interesting with the embers, not worth it.
@@Lurkin17 All good, I appreciate your videos and the work you've done trying to bring our problems to blizzard's attention. Thanks for the evaluation of the season 5 changes. Happy to see Sorc get some damage buffs but I am not happy about the offsetting nerfs to our defenses. Cooldown reduction was r3emoved from a lot of items including the common focus and at the same time cooldown and when it starts was altered on our defensive skills. Yeah the immune builds were problematic but I do not see the reasoning for clobbering Ice Armor and Teleport. In order to get CDR we will now be forced to find and use unique items like Shako that still have CDR affixes. There is no way that you should have to have a Shako to have a successful build, IMO. What is your take on the drastically reduced amount of CDR that we have now? Is it going to be a major problem or am I just over reacting to a change that I do not understand and do not like?
I guess I just assume everyone will get a shako so I find it very nice. But I feel the sentiment, that’s why my pre Uber builds all have Tal Rasha because it has CDR
@@kevinmann2154 If I decide to play in season 5, I will be looking at all the gear, new and old that has CDR on it to see if I can make if fit in my build and what benefit it will provide. I may just wait for the expansion.
I think what will happen is there will be a bugged Necro and rogue build that blow us out of the water and people think sorc still blows. But we are much better off compared to this season
Some builds can opt to run andariels, or they can run a lucky hit chance to deal poison or shadow damage weapon temper. This is usually reserved for builds that do not have any weapon temper that has damage value. Incinerate and pure firewall don’t gain damage from size, so they can afford the poison temper. Stuff like chain lightning? Not so much because it wants the double cast tempers. I recommend using starless and a legendary ring over Tal Rasha this season unless your build can get the 4th stack. Use Tal Rasha and a legendary ring until starless
Hi, why did you say Winter Touch aspect doesn't work on bosses? I thought when a boss does get staggered it counts as having all debuffs? If yes, it would be a must-have in PITs to melt them down in the stagger-phases. Or does the description mean "it takes 300% damage once" when getting frozen instead of "300% more damage while frozen" ?
When you stagger a boss it does not count as chilling them for proccing the winter glyph. So I do not think it will count as you freezing them for winter touch. You are not applying the freeze etc. they just become “frozen”
Idk what all these abbreviations he says are. GA... PDR... CD... CC... YMCA... AC/DC... And whatever abbreviation i missed. Idk what any of those abbreviations mean.
GA is greater affix. MW is masterwork. GA is the star on the affix that gets a 50% boost. Masterwork refers to the 25% boost that happens to a skill at 4/8/12 during the masterwork upgrade process
Crazy how I tried to play forb last season and quickly found how underpowered it was against bosses and now it will be stronger. Welp, looks like I’m chasing fractured again 😂
All of the changes have been resoundingly positive(mostly). I know it's focused on Sorcs who FINALLY got great buffs, but Druids have a truly viable build, Necro's aren't pigeonholed to playing bone spirit as the blood builds are viable(outside of pit 140 for now), Rogues can actually play flurry, and Andariels is more broken than ever, and Barbs... Well, Barbs still will be high on the top end of all pushing and speed clearing as from theory crafting some items actually pushed them FARTHER ahead and made them, again, the easiest class to play.
While all of these builds have amazing potential, they're dependent on 1) Getting the right required Uniques and 2) getting good rolls on those said uniques. Which sucks.
It is what it is. The good news is you can’t brick a unique!!! And tbh they did make farming the bosses way more convenient!!! Can just keep summoning. It’ll be ok
@Lurkin17 that sounds wild to me, especially after it even got buffed. It's so hard to let go of Tal Rasha ^^. The question is, how to fit in Blue Rose for Blizzard 🤔
i do stream. when I play each season. which is about 4-6 weeks from the season launch day. I stop playing when i get bored and stop streaming because there is nothing to do
I'm a pretty big fireball fan and I hate illuminator's bouncing balls. I think the whole concept of bouncing balls is dumb. It's a shame we're practically forced into these gloves for a viable fireball build. I don't want my fireballs on the ground ffs
So they changed the items but haven't touched anything that fundamentally breaks the class like dmg being locked behind first vuln and cc layering and melee range required to layer most cc........... ..... still absolutely inexcusable poor design
bro you dont seem to know what youre talking about sometimes LOL like for x fal corroded ring. why would they remove the DOT on a DOT item? like what? LOL there were plenty of time you said things that dont even make sense lol but i digress
sooooooo. xfals is procced by Damage over time. but the damage it gives off is not a damage over time, it is DIRECT damage. Basically a ton of Xfal builds across multiple classes simply use a low damage DoT to proc the item for large DIRECT Damage explosions. One example is when Blizzard used Xfal in the past. it has DoT components from firebolt enchant and blizzard itself, but most of it's damage is direct damage from ice spikes. Charged bolts use to run Xfal and procced it off of firebolt enchant. We saw this with meteor as well, where Xfal was used a lot because of the cooldown. Meteors damage is primarily direct damage, with a smaller burn component. You scale both meteor and xfal with critical strike damage. Had the item retained its cooldown roll, and been given a larger Vulnerable or All Damage roll, it would scale both DoT and Direct damage. DoT is just a wasted stat on quite a few Xfal builds.
I mean basically CL build gonna looks like this: aspects of storm swell, conceited, tal rasha, control, CL main aspect forgot the the name and ofc pants, so basically just same geared build like all others builds before just with nice looking animation, and someone will change 1 aspect to another and call this new build + 400k damage 😅, or so on, im looking something unique about gameplay like does anyone try made build with no defense skills or so..
Nah starless > rasha. Unless a build can get a 4th stack a legendary ring with a 30% damage aspect is better than Rasha because of the attack speed imo

I think what will happen is there will be a bugged Necro and rogue build that blow us out of the water and people think sorc still blows. But we are much better off compared to this season
@@Lurkin17 think I'll try druid again after the sorcs. Necro just looks trash. The skills I don't like are the ones that got buffs.
how do you get 4 stacks on Tal rasha? I see only Fire, cold and Shock (=3 stacks) in sorc arsenal?
Some builds can opt to run andariels, or they can run a lucky hit chance to deal poison or shadow damage weapon temper. This is usually reserved for builds that do not have any weapon temper that has damage value. Incinerate and pure firewall don’t gain damage from size, so they can afford the poison temper. Stuff like chain lightning? Not so much because it wants the double cast tempers. I recommend using starless and a legendary ring over Tal Rasha this season unless your build can get the 4th stack. Use Tal Rasha and a legendary ring until starless
thanks
It’s juiced to the Gills
Thanks dude. Fucking Blue Rose let's goooo
Looking juiced
All of the changes have been resoundingly positive(mostly). I know it's focused on Sorcs who FINALLY got great buffs, but Druids have a truly viable build, Necro's aren't pigeonholed to playing bone spirit as the blood builds are viable(outside of pit 140 for now), Rogues can actually play flurry, and Andariels is more broken than ever, and Barbs...
Well, Barbs still will be high on the top end of all pushing and speed clearing as from theory crafting some items actually pushed them FARTHER ahead and made them, again, the easiest class to play.
I think barbs survive the nerfs. The tales of their death have been… exaggerated perhaps
@@Lurkin17they still have that broken 4 weapons mechanic, they’ll be impossible to nerf until that changes so…. They’ll never get nerf lol.
Build around 8/12 pls, still shows power level on upper end while still being like a fucking 15th the time investment as 12/12 haha. Good stuff
I will do 8/12 videos forsure when I do all
My build guides I promise
the azuresword letting u freeze target on hit for 3 secs seems interesting. for a cc build
It’ll be ok
*I can't hear you*
Volume too low...
please give me a hydra build
I am finishing up all my builds today!!! It WILL BE READY
w season for sorcs i guess?
Huge dub season. Necros down bad
“Uniques on helmet chest and pants.” Aaaand both rings.
Nahhhh just one ring. Rasha at 60 ain’t worth it for most builds over an attack speed ring trust me
@Lurkin17 that sounds wild to me, especially after it even got buffed. It's so hard to let go of Tal Rasha ^^.
The question is, how to fit in Blue Rose for Blizzard 🤔
firebolt gonna leave the other ones in the dust, shatter is dead
Why dont you steam, you personality is much more interesting than the average d4 clone
i do stream. when I play each season. which is about 4-6 weeks from the season launch day. I stop playing when i get bored and stop streaming because there is nothing to do
I'm a pretty big fireball fan and I hate illuminator's bouncing balls. I think the whole concept of bouncing balls is dumb. It's a shame we're practically forced into these gloves for a viable fireball build. I don't want my fireballs on the ground ffs
tbf it triples the damage now
hydra looks so fun... just need ,more aoe
facts
🎉❤❤❤🎉
❤️ ♥️ 😊 🎉 🎉🎉
So they changed the items but haven't touched anything that fundamentally breaks the class like dmg being locked behind first vuln and cc layering and melee range required to layer most cc........... ..... still absolutely inexcusable poor design
Sorcerer: the need for 3 elements (tal rasha/DB)
Necro: need to consume corpses
Druid: need to constantly swap forms
These NEED to change
I have zero CC damage on any of my builds anymore. Zero
@Lurkin17 if that is true I might have to try again. Been waiting since 1.1 for sorcerers not to be total broken garbage to play
and that fucking uber staff is pretty pathetic! compared to uber weapons barbs use , guess we all know who to thank for that :p
Nah the Grandfather buff is crazy
Fuck barbs
@@Lurkin17 Amen
bro you dont seem to know what youre talking about sometimes LOL like for x fal corroded ring. why would they remove the DOT on a DOT item?
👌🏼🥹
Game is done for me. No time for these time wasters because that’s all they are.
coolio. enjoy tfd. i do as well
Gonna be boring season with 95% population with CL builds
I mean basically CL build gonna looks like this: aspects of storm swell, conceited, tal rasha, control, CL main aspect forgot the the name and ofc pants, so basically just same geared build like all others builds before just with nice looking animation, and someone will change 1 aspect to another and call this new build + 400k damage 😅, or so on, im looking something unique about gameplay like does anyone try made build with no defense skills or so..
Nah starless > rasha. Unless a build can get a 4th stack a legendary ring with a 30% damage aspect is better than Rasha because of the attack speed imo
Not interested! The day they made the dumb decision to make me re grind all my gear and Ubers was the day I finished playing this game. Zero respect for my time
thanks
