Man, seriously, you should look up the rules for the APBA Super Stock drag racing , peek at some videos for them and check out the ADBA as well and take a look at their setups . Anything over 250 Hp should definitely go 12” mount with tie bars . That engine will backflip and take out that entire transom . Could be the back of your skull with it too. No lie to spook you but a good friend of the family has an entire arm missing because of “testing” that same style setup. And he was supposed to be cautious as a racer during a break in period as well . Go figure .
Not sure about the setup and whatnot of this boat, but the motor seems to be bouncing around on deceleration. Apba race hydros have have a tie down around the the exhaust housing to prevent the motor from finding it way into the boat with you. Not to mention it’s difficult to control something that’s moving around like that.

With all the time effort and money in this rig why not put a 12" mid like its designed for..... that 20" mid is an accident waiting to happen your cg is way to high with that v-8 way up there straight line runs or not its dangerous off balance rigg one wave or steering flaw with all that prop torque your done....its not rocket science just get the right midsection before you wreck that rigg.

Evinrude has a ways to go before they are going to be compete with Mercury. Mercury is killing it.
