Just some short flybys of this sweet little 18ft Hydrostream vking river rat with a big 225 hp evinrude High Output motor mounted to the back. Top speed right now is 82 mph. Insane for such a small boat.
    Enjoy.

    Nice HydroStream!
Title of the Video is calling it a V-King, but it is actually a Vector. A little shorter and possibly a little quicker than the V-King. Also a little harder to handle on the pad.
    Good Video!!

Yup, my '76 Vector with a 175 Merc got that but it was dicey when trimmed up, you could run it at that speed and only half the prop would be in the water and full air under the hull.

Nice looking Hydrostream. That big Rude on the back should have went quite a bit faster. Runs good and Sounds great. Also ...That Evinrude is NOT an E-TEC. That Evinrude is a BRP FICHT RAM 3.3L V-6. With the right setup and adjustments, That boat would be Really fast. Nice video !

And for the comment above you... nobody ever put a long shaft ( off shore ) motor on a Hydrostream lol but a few loose screw individuals did put F1 short shafts on them.

82 mph with a 225 Evinrude? my 79 viking with an 82 235 Evinrude ran 86 mph on an FHP radar. the same boat with a 200 black max 92 mph and that was under propped. i use a 28 inch chopper it needed a 30 inch cleaver. Jim jr @ Frank and Jimmy's prop shop in Ft Lauderdale got me a cleaver and double cupped it, that set up ran 96 mph on an FHP radar. You guys need to do something else those driving skills (or lack there of) are going to get you killed, Hydrostreams are not for amateurs, these boats can get scary.

I don't know why people would put an evinrude on hydro streams. They are a heavier motor and can't run with merc.

If you don't have centered steering on these boats then you don't have shit. You absolutely don't wanna run at speed with 1 driver and even if you add weight or a person to balance the boat out you just lost at least 5 and probably ten mph off the top. That boat with two guys and the mediocre power would be lucky to hit 80.
