Those "chime sounds" as he & Dave called them, are achieved by picking random strings above the neck, below the tuning pegs. Now I'm not sure why this seems to be the case, but nearly every guitar I've ever picked up, acoustic or electric, have a completely different, seemingly random set of tones & notes produced from picking on that area... ALL that to say: how fucking enormous were the odds, that the 1 guitar Ernie just so happened to have in his car, had a "chime" section that produced notes in the EXACT same key as You Know Your Right?!? 😳
🌈✨The More You Know✨🌠
Glad to see a new upload.
That makes two of us ;)
The quality of your videos gets better with each one. As always I'm gonna suggest Alex Webster, but I would still love to see you finish the Metallica trilogy and do one Rob Trujillo.
Thanks Kevin! I'm glad to hear the quality is improving, that's a relief! I did look at Alex Webster before choosing Krist. It was winter, it was dark and I thought there's no way I could survive spending so much time on him (But I will get to him soon!)
Welcome back!
Thanks Rob! Glad to have you back watching!
I'm absolutely stunned by the quality of the video. Great video man. Billy Sheehan next?
Thanks a lot Tunahan! Glad you enjoyed it. Billy Sheehan is a classic, I'll see what I can do.
Thank you for this video. Saw Nirvana Live back in Madrid 8th February 1994 and it was amazing
Lucky you! That's awesome. Mike Dirnt is a great suggestion thanks Metz!

But I'm loving the new background and sound ! (Haven't finished the video as I am rehearsing, but I'll do it as soon as I can !)
Cheers Alfie !
Krist is such an awesome underrated player, he is one of my inspirations to pick up a bass guitar. What is your favorite Novoselic bass line?
Mine too! Favourite bass line would be In Bloom or About A Girl.
@@WhichBass Both are great bass parts!! Mine is either Lounge Act or Pennyroyal Tea. Great videos man, incredible channel!!
Yea.. lounge act is kkkkkiller

Thanks for dropping in Brian, I hope you and the family are well. It's been a long ol' while!
@@WhichBass Indeed it has been. Very educational about Chris/Kirst/Christs equipment and the line up and recording of the albums. Just making a gag on sliver/silver. We're doing as well as can be here. Hope you guys are well also. Re!!!...Spect!!!... Watch!!!! Yes I'm talking to you.
Great video... Lou Barlow eventually?
Interesting suggestion! Thanks Chuck.
Hey man. Amazing video!!!! Congratulations. Greetings from Ecuador.
Thanks for watching Santiago! You tell Ecuador I said hello! 😁
Nice to see a new vid. Thanks
Thanks Glenn! I hope you enjoyed it.
Great to see these back! I'd like to see an episode on Kelly LeMieux one day.
Thanks Steve, glad to have you watching. Kelly is an interesting suggestion! I'll see what I can do.
late was recorded and released in 1992. with most of the material written between 1989-1991. Dave's early 1994 demos were the basis for the first Foo Fighters record, with one song February Stars ending up on the second one.
I have a hohner professional gold top copy and it's absolutely brilliant!
Welcome back.Long time not see you. Finally a new video.
Thank you Captain! Glad to have you watching.
All makes sense. Those old Peavy amps & cabs from the 80s are solid, I am currently reproducing my teenage bands' equipment as it was in 87, I have most of the old Peavys, personally, I love TNT Combos (& TKOs) - I saved this movie for 2 days before watching because they are always so enjoyable hell of a job you do.
Thanks Andrew, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
This is the one I was waiting for!
I hope it didn't disappoint!
Awesome video my man!👍 to think he had a bass with pickups designed by Bob Moog himself!🎸👌 being a synthesizer fanatic myself, I find that incredibly fascinating! I would love to find out more about those pickups?
Thanks Max! I'm glad you enjoyed it. When I read Moog made these pickups I couldn't believe it either. How nuts is that. You'll love this page it has all the details of the pickups www.flyguitars.com/gibson/bass/RDartist.php
Well done as always alfie!😎
Thanks Dario! Good to see you back in comments!
Nice narration mate well done
Thank you kindly Simon, glad you enjoyed it.
a video on Chris Joannou of silverchair would be amazing
Great suggestion thanks Spedly
The Ibanez Roadster series of basses & guitars was actually introduced 1n 1979. This series later changed to the Roadstar in 1983.
Nice job, very thorough. Your a good presenter, please keep up the good work. Since you asked for suggestions, I recommend Gail Ann Dorsey, long time Bowie bassist.
Thanks for the kind words Troy I appreciate that. Gail would be a great bassist, I'll see what I can do.
The original boss DS-1s where orange the black paint job was a limited edition color they did for the 40th anniversary of it's introduction. I think the only black pedals boss made at that time was the HM-2 Heavy Metal distortion and the "digital Metalizer" which is a distortion with built in chorus. I doubt the black pedal is a ds-1 unless it was painted
I don't think the Digital Metalizer came out until later, so it was definitely an HM-2.
For the first time Nardwuar was wrong. There were at least 2 Taco Bells in Ontario (opposite side of the country from the serviette) when that was filmed.
