I thought it was cool seeing how involved and enthusiastic Justin was on the technical side

This is amazing! Thanks for sharing. As one of the first bassists on UA-cam to try to show Justin’s music to the world covering Tool on bass it’s wonderful to see how much more open he is later in his career to show the secrets of his sound. From Aenema to 10k days it was always a mystery and he remained pretty mysterious about his unique sound. I spent the better part of almost 15 years trying to dial in his sound and there were a few things that were hard to replicate. Not only that but you are in your own right an amazing bass player as well! Your covers were extremely well done my friend.

I’ve been waiting for a video on these guy for so long, I’ve been a huge Tool fan ever since I first heard them in Guitar Hero: World Tour so this is absolutely awesome. My friends and I who play in a band with (we also covered Sober at our most recent show last year, a song we’ve been holding onto since we first wanted to do it at our second gig) went to go see them back in November and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to (we even got to meet a gentleman who was sitting next to us that had been following Tool since 1993, which was really cool), especially since they brought out Alex Lifeson from Rush to join them for Jambi (which was our singer’s favourite Tool song) and they went into the solo section from Passage to Bangkok and we were just blown away because neither of us were even expecting to see Lifeson and it was fucking awesome. This has definitely made its place as one of my favourite RRs, fucking awesome as always guys
Thank you for bringing Isis into the conversation, this band is amazing and you can see the influence Tool had on them throughout their catalog, especially on the bass.
Hi, I'm Jens from Germany. I was inspired to play bass by Sober over 20 years ago and since then I have truly loved Justin and Tool deeply for their music and their art. Thank you very much for the great insight! Wish you all the best :)

Such an impressive interview from all three. No ego what so ever. Just respect. Awesome! Justin wasn’t in a hurry or trying to get it overbut just seemed into the interview.

Really love how Justin and Pete do this together. You can see the chemistry between them in this video. Great to see, thanks for this video to everyone who contributed to it in any way!
Seriously props to Justin's tech! The way he looks, listens and reacts to everything Justin says or needs. Those dudes are the unsung heros of any show or tour. As a bass player myself I'm always watching videos of rig rundowns to try and learn as much as I can because of how much they know and the tricks they have. I've known Warren Lee who was Jeff Hanne man and now Gary Holt's guitar tech and I'm always peppering him with questions because he's a bass player himself and the experience and knowledge these guys have is amazing!
I really enjoyed and appreciate your introduction Chris. You should definitely do it more often. Thank you so much for allowing us to spend time with Justin and Pete....great job. Now, it's time to snag Mr. Adam Jones…..

@@SirOttisAdam was also the main reason Tool wasn’t on streaming services for so long. I’ve all but worshipped Tool for twenty years so it’s hard to say anything bad, but Adam has always come across as a quiet artist wizard who just wants to make your ears bleed and not anger any questions.
Congratulations Chris. You deserve this. I literally was nervous for you.
His reaction to Justin handing him the Wal was priceless
Justin Chancellor is one of my favorite bassists, so I love this!
One of my bass idols! Thank you for this
this episode is gold, thank you so much!
Using the LS-2 to bypass multiple analog effects is smart.
I use the LS-2 pedal and its a game changer. Pedal does so much and is relatively cheap for a boss pedal that does so many things
Bought one recently to blend both my clean and dirty sound in parallel. Makes your single amp have so much more clarity when using distortion/fuzz etc 👌
This was awesome! Justin is one of my all time favorite musicians, and he really seems like a cool down to earth type of guy. His tech Pete also was great. Thanks for getting this done. There’s a lot of great info here for music tech nerds like myself.
18:36 That blue P bass can be heard on the Slipknot song Adderall. Vman said he borrowed it when they were recording the song for their latest album “The End, So Far”
Absolutely amazing! What a great guy Justin is and what a great bass player! Great episode Gear Rundown!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
