That white roof looks classy AF. Well done.
Thank you sir
Dude I cannot believe how well that's coming back around! Awesome!
Yeah I was so surprised
@@theetravisb dude... you got lucky.... marketplace is a asylum...be glad you have a support system cause you can't do that alone.... people are dreaming on there...that car minus all the work you did is 6-8k ...for a project
And idiot me had to fall in love with a 59 caddy coupe.....🤦🤬
I think he"s married, fool, calm down
@@theetravisb you still miss the trim on the trunk above the license plate?.
Hey Travis
Both cars sound pretty awesome and it’s really cool that they’re the same year and same colour!
I wouldn’t ditch those old manifolds with the broken studs, they are easy enough to get out, if you heat the stud area on the manifold up cherry red with a torch, they’ll unscrew with some vice grips or drill and retap if they’re broken flush. Always good to have extra manifolds on hand. Love the wide whites on the truck, I have them on my 41 Ford pickup and look really cool.
Really cool looking car. America really used to know how to make cars.
That Impala is fantastic. Such a good vehicle after abandoned for such a long time and the fact the engine and transmission are still working fine is incredible.
The paint"restore"was also great. That two tone has to be the best colour combo on that car. I really like your style of fixing things the way it was ment to be while maintaining the originality of the car. As a classic car mechanic myself i highly respect that. You've earned my sub👍👌
Wow! I would never have thought there was paint under the rust.
How doe that even work?! Like the top clear coat rusted? I've seen some nasty clear coats but they were just yellow and cracked, never rusted.
Maybe that's some metal flaking in the top coat?
@@DARKredDOLLAR Clear coat was not used in '60. Didn't come along until decades later.
@Jasona1976 so what is that brown stuff on top... paint... somebody painted it rust brown ...
It's so awesome that you're getting recognition. You've earned it, dude.
Amazing what you did with the paint! As a pilot, aircraft mechanic and vintage car enthusiast, this was the perfect video!
What an extra special video!, All the stuff you got done on the Cars and the old Ford Plane!, And seeing y'all together with Chris, Jen and Gus from NNKH!, Both y'all are my favorite UA-camrs!, Well done Travis!! Jeff Houston, Texas
I love this channel and the compassion you and your dad have for old cars. That fact that you actually live the 50's lifestyle in your home is also pretty damn neat! I know this channel is gonna keep growing and growing!
Wow, rust on top of paint! That blows my mind. Great job. ❤
I'm totally shocked your paint was there hiding from you all along! Looks awesome now. Thanks for taking us on the Tri Motor and also to the Duct Tape Drags! Fun video! A+++++
37:08 that hardtop with the windows down looks so good! Great that you got the trim and radio. You and your dad's attention to detail is peerless.
Appreciate that 💪🏼
Your work ethic is your gift. Never work cheap. Talk to your dad. 👍
It's amazing how much paint is still on the car, nice work!
Love that you met Chris , Jen , and Gus , I just watched the show on them and that van verry cool !!
Love what you did to the Impala. Its looking very good. Thanks for the video and glad you survived the Ford aero plane😄 ride !
I have a sister who works in Dearborn, Michigan. Is cool that plane was built there 😊
Those tires look absolutely perfect the way they are excellent choice!
The truck looks awesome with the while wheels and the car is coming along great
The Impala came out great! It was a treat to see you meet the NNKH crew as well.
I am really enjoying you giving this old Chevy some new life. The paint looks great some patina always looks good what a cool old car!
I’m obsessed with this impala. Literally my dream cars 1960-1962 impalas 😍
I also adore the early 60s
Loved seeing the folks from No Nonsense Know How in the vid! What a great surprise!
I’m in a couple of pages where guys do restoration on classics but this one is top notch … the details … step by step … the little details make it even better to watch …also the perfect explanation… 💯
Appreciate that thank you
Good morning from South Carolina.Sunny and 71 degrees
She’s lookin and sounding good. It’s amazing what a little elbow grease can do. The el camino turned out to be a sweet ride ride too. I think the international looks just right with the wide whites.
* Hey Travis & Dad ! Haven't check in in a while. Everything is coming along nice. Personally I would have used the red rims to add a little "Pop" to the old gal (46IH) I still love that one. I subscribed to follow her when you dug her out of that yard. I want to thankyou for the Trimotor Ride. Seen a lot of those in museums but never footage from inside during a flight. Couldn't believe how much paint was hiding under the rust on the 60 Imp. I believe that color combo is called Ermine White & Horizon Blue. Both sound great with the new exhaust. Cheers ! 🍻👊😎👍🍻
I wish I still had my father or an older brother to tinker around with on old vehicles.
What a classy pair of chevys! I like the wide whites on the truck.
I liked seeing both vehicles parked next to each other
I love the car stuff but thank you for doing a video on the tri motor. I am a big fan of planes as well so this was a real treat.
I’ve always dreamed of taking a flight on that particular airplane. I got to see one at the Santa Monica airport ramp when I was a kid and my father and I took pictures of it and I just dreamed of getting a ride in it. You’ve inspired me to go find a place where I can get a ride in that plane. Car looks great and the exhaust sounds a lot better now. Love what you did with the paint. Have you thought about clearcoating it?
I got a 1957 Chevy big window pickup from a customer of mine about 10 years ago. It was sitting on the side of their house on blocks. It was covered in 4 different colors of primer. I took it to my warehouse and started HAND SANDING it with 1000 grit wetsand paper. I soon noticed there was a cool teal blue color underneath. After about 2 weeks of meticulous, tedious work I brought it back to life. What a cool color and a bad ass old truck. It’s now in storage. I need to bring that thing back to life….
Love the attention to detail getting all the old parts working again. Cool stuff.
I agree the wide white walls look great on that truck. The El Camino and the Impala both sporting the same color scheme can be you family trademark.
Wow, you blew my mind with the roof and trunk!! I can't believe there was color under that apparently solid rust! I gotta go sand on my old F150, it looks the exact same!
If you suspect that rust has stained the oxidized paint on a vehicle, test out a spot with CLR. With sanding, you invariably remove some of the paint you want - CLR should remove the rust but leave the paint untouched. You can then polish out what paint is left while maximizing what is there for aesthetics. Best wishes!

@@MaxGiganteumso what is that brown stuff on top... paint... somebody painted it rust brown ...
it's rust???? I feel like I'm 5 and just saw Santa...
rust on paint? I'd be less surprised if a UFO landed in front of me...
stained the oxidized paint .... holy crap.... never heard of that
@@larsbee "Stained" may not actually be correct as I understand it... but I think that's a matter of opinion and it all depends on how you look at it. The dissolved iron oxide from an iron-based source flows with water onto the paint where it is deposited. It's the same process which allows stalactites and stalagmites to form in caves - water dissolves a mineral from one spot and carries it to another spot and deposits it in the new location. An area of our lives that is influenced by this is in plumbing systems. Pipes can get clogged with rust coming from corroding steel or iron pipes - even PVC pipes can get clogged due to a source of rust if there's a catch point for the rust to be deposited and build up. Ditto for other materials such as brass, bronze and aluminum. It isn't likely but it can and does happen. You might also find rust staining on concrete or brickwork near a drain coming from a roof or on the side of a structure where it can get rained on. Anyway, oxidized paint is typically chalky in nature and is unprotected which makes it easy for the iron oxide to remain - the chalky paint lends "bite" for the rust to adhere. However, as the iron oxide is dissolved via chemical reaction when you go to remove it, the paint will remain behind relatively undisturbed. That's what you hope for, to say the least. At that point, you can save what you can with less risk of further damage. Yes, it's also possible to displace the iron oxide as the oxidized paint is removed via mechanical means such as through sanding or compounding but that's not recommended. As I stated before, you always lose some of the paint you're trying to keep as well as run the risk of damaging what is actually left once you stop. Sanding or compounding through rust to get rid of it only makes it worse. One of the other things that can occur with rust is that the paint thins to the point of allowing rust specks to form over a large area of sheet metal. Think of the starting points as being the size of pinpricks. The rust specks simply grow to the point that all of the paint is covered via a thin layer of surface rust... and it appears that the entire panel is rusted even if it isn't. That's right, the rust will simply spread out and grow over the top of remaining paint. In an instance such as this, if you dissolve all the rust, you might find that 90-95% of the paint remains. Maybe even more than 95%. The problem is that even if you chemically remove all the rust, it'll come back unless you seal up any exposed metal. At the end of the day, the paint may be so thin or so little of it may remain that a repaint is mandatory. You've got to be prepared for this if that's the result you get when trying to save paint on a vintage vehicle. Peace & good vibes!

@@MaxGiganteum that was gigantic... now could this have been avoided if they had clear coated their paint back then??? as I understood clear coating wasn't done back then
The white walls on the international look great, she deserves nice tyres ❤
Came for Impala paint, but was pleasantly impressed by the Ford plane
Your dad sounds like Johnny cash so cool 😎
That Chevy came out pretty awesome. I never would have thought it possible. I love the wide whitewalls on the truck.
Man that Impala looks so cool, sounds great to. It’s cool seeing the El Camino and the Impala together
Can't believe how well that paint came back. Looks Great!
Looks like a spaceship, love it!
What a difference it made when you sanded the surface of the car .. As always thanks for another , Brother !
I just recently discovered you guys. I love your videos. I like your love for these old American beauties. Reminds me of better and beautiful days in this country. That plane was awesome. This was an awesome video. I will be watching a lot more from you guys. God bless you both!
I also loved the trip on the Ford Tri Motor. I got to go to an airshow about 10 years ago just before my Dad passed away. We got to climb around the inside of a B-24 Liberator bomber which he piloted in WWII. Man !!!! Did they ever build stuff tough back in those days !!
Those tyres look bonza on that truckling...
The Impala and El Camino look like they're brother and sister...
I'm amazed. Solid rust covering almost solid paint? Wouldn't have believed it. 🤔🇬🇧👍
Really awesome what you 2 did to those chevys
I showed up and talked to your dad and it was awesome duct tape drags was best drag race show I have ever been to
The chevy's next to eachother looks awesome !! Love the body lines on those early 60's chevy's
I watched your 2500 mile trip and your trouble with wheel bearings my dad had a 1960 with the same engine and carburetor only it was a three on the tree he was always having trouble with front wheel bearings and wiring a blown head gasket finally convinced my Dad to sell it watching your videos brought back so many memories thanks so much
The Impala paint shocked me and I'm a "old car guy" - WOW!
Keep those whites on the truck - that's like a working man wearing his "Sunday shoes" and feeling proud !!
GREAT CHANNEL!!
Thanks for the content !!!!!
Looks great. Had one of these back in the day. It was black.
My favorite part was seeing you and Chris meet up. You two are my favorite channels.
Thanks man means a lot
Travis quite a treat on the tri- Ford Airplane. And the Impala is looking great and coming together. The El Camino your dad has been on is also magnificent.Richard cuddo’s. The burn out competition is great. That Tat Rod with the Cummins. Is great. Thanks for taking us along! 💯👍👊❤️
Appreciate you watchin!
Wow man! Thanks for the video. I know you are but you definitely should be very proud of you and your family have accomplished. Car looks great, the blue is popping. Awesome content.👍🏼
Thank you man means alot
I want the 60 impala. My mom wants to drive it. She loves it. She's gorgeous the way she is.
I have loved those cars since they were new. My mom and dad started a cab company in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory way back and they started with two of those for cabs. Good memories and a beautiful car.
Straight out the back flush with the back bumper is always the best sound , and the 12” glass packs are the best, as close to the manifolds as possible..💯💯💯
The paint on that Impala is just awesome I can’t believe you got it to come back like that. It looks Spectacular!
Never woulda thought there was paint under there. Nice find!
Thanks for the plane ride, great video lots of content. You should keep this car even just picking at it doing the headliner ,floor and trunk repair , etc..she needs You !!
I vote for leaving those whitewalls!!!!! It really sets the truck off. Nice job of cleaning up the paint on the Impala. I'm like you I never would have thought there was any paint under there.
Totally enjoyed this one, in my opinion your best yet.
That Ford plane was unbelievable.
Must admit i didn't know they made a plane.
Keep up the good work geezer.
It's nice watching your car come together. The sand off the old rust find paint under is actually a huge surprise. Nice Job! I'm waiting on the repair of the rails and trunk of your car. Even the big floor holes...
That plane is cool I remember building a plastic model of a Ford tri motor when I was a kid.
That paint is really sanding out nicely. I enjoy your channel how you add history.
That was great you spending time with your father and the cars are awesome great job for both of you and your father
That was cool that Derek and Chris were there as I watch their You Tube videos too.
Early 80s, there where 3 tri motors flying around Vegas haven't seen one in a long time very cool
Love that Impala! And your Dad's camino!👍
The Ford plane was extremely awesome! A piece of American history for all! the ZIMpala and El Camino are also awesome as where they started when bought! Impala sure could use some trunk floor and inside rear floor pans.
Finland mentioned! 🎉😅 Greetings frome here 🇫🇮
Damn i cannot believe all that brown was caked up dust! great work!
Tri-Motor. If one doesn't work, you tri another one :)
Hello Travis and Dad: The El Camino looks and sounds totally bad ass. Saving the Impala's paint was definitely worth the effort, now go the distance with Flood to keep it that way. The IHC pick up truck looks great but needs a set of genuine IHC hubcaps to complete the deal. Terrific episode! Thanks for sharing!
I agree with the dog dish hubcaps... that's definitely the way to go. White IH hubcaps with red lettering or red IH caps with white lettering. 🛻👍🏻

you betcha!@@MaxGiganteum
That old Impala just keeps on giving!! Cant say I like the straight exhaust exit, but it sounds good.
That exhaust is music to my ears !
Great vid, lovn' the Impala!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is so inspirational . it's so fun to watch old cars being restored. Maybe someday I'll fullfil my dream to restore a classic car too❤❤
Dental floss and a upholstery needle will do wonders on stitching headliners back together.
Your dad El Camino sounds awesome😮❤
That truck looks old school cool.
The car looks good and those white walls on the truck looks awesome as well.
Lovely to see you and your Dad again. Great Video.. Awesome !
UnREAL transformation. Can’t wait to see what you do next sir
