It nice to see a father and son working together ❤ my father left town didn't come back until he was almost 80 years old he didn't even say hi or tell me he was back in town he died at 81 .enjoy your time with your family 👪 I enjoy watching your videos .
My father had a drinking problem. He mostly knew how to criticize. Working on old cars was just a waste of time in his eyes. Later on in life he started to be more positive with me but for me it was too little too late. He died about 30 years ago and I didn't shed many tears over that.
At 66 years old, I have to agree with the guys saying how great it is, seeing you two working together. Besides your projects and content, it’s a thing that has made your’s one of my favorite channels. My Dad passed when he was 64, I miss him every day. A father’s lessons are golden. A son appreciating them and giving them back, just as golden. Thanks and keep it going.
I lost my dad when he was 65 but he had been bedridden for over 10 years and was sick before then so wasn't able to teach me a lot of things he had wanted to, but he was still able to teach me a lot of things. I miss him every day too.
Hey Travis, next time flim the trip to get the gas pumps. Even if the guy doesn't want to allow you to film him or his collection. Loading up to go to California gas stops ect. you know... Content is everything. We enjoy your channel and your work. We live in Phoenix and know hot it's been outside, so working through this heat is amazing.you keep filming we will keep watching 👍🏻🏜
My garden hose I bought from an estate auction in 2015 when I bought my house. Sears Best Craftsman from the 1980s. Has always been stored outside and is still pliable. No leaks.
I just want to express how much I really enjoy watching you and your dad and all these videos. I find myself waiting for them to come out. Definitely my favorite out of everything I watch. Keep up the great work and the great work ethic probably more importantly.

Oh man what I would give to be out in the shop getting yelled at by my pops again… takes me back to a great time in my childhood.. shout out to your pops and all the dads that taught us how to fix stuff! Cherish the time! Another great video!
LOL..a West Coast dude and and an East coast guy....NNKH introduced me to Theetravisb ,been watching you both for some time now....good content, but oh so different....
Travis, I keep hearing some really cool music - a sort of bluegrassy tune with banjo and dobro maybe. This same tune plays in lots of your videos. Can you share information about this? Thanks from Sevier County, Tennessee. 👊
Excellent channel love the old pumps to. Been watching NNKH for years im not to far from his area so its cool seeing places I recognize. Chris's inventory is legendary!!!
Hi Travis, the reason that air hose is disintegrating could be the reel is close to the tin roof and absorbing heat even though it is in your car port. Combined with the lower quality "Chinese" rubber compound. Those tin roofs get increadably hot especially in your area of the USA. Regards from South Africa
Found you from NNKH. Been in Tucson a year now, not used to the heat yet. But if I had a garage, I would build on a project too. Ill just keep living vicariously until then.
It always amazes me that those little brake lines can hold 700 lbs per square inch... That's going to be a nice car. Get a wheel lock for it.. club that baby
Welcome back, missed the videos. Early comments, Wow the El Camino really needs shocks. That thing bounces like a basketball LOL. An exhaust wouldn’t hurt either. The 1962 Cadillac is really nice and its my birth year😮
Man, I'm in love with that ol buick sitting in the background! The blue and white just does it for me! I really enjoy yalls channel thanks for doing what you do!✌️
Those tokiem gas pumps used to be manufactured in my home town of Fort Wayne Indiana. My Uncle worked for them and would travel the country helping station owners set up the pumps.
Travis, you and your father have one of the best Chanel’s. I can’t wait until you have a new project. Keep them coming. I am 83/and enjoy watching you work with your father.
My Dad was driving his '59 Chevy across the causeway between Mobile, AL and the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay many years ago when he saw a tire and wheel rolling past him, crossing the median, and landing in the bay. It was only a moment later that he realized that it was his tire! Luckily the water was shallow at this place, and he was able to wade out and get it!
Hi Travis Hi Rick, always an adventure with the both of you using honestly what you have in front of you. It shows what a true mechanic has to think of to fix a problem. Happy and Healthy 4th to Y’all and Your Family!! Thank You 🙏
Thanks for the excellent and timely content. About to attempt drum brakes this weekend for the first time on my 67 Impala. You guys are an inspiration.
Another wonderful episode! Going to be great to see another El Camino back on the road. Your work on the driveline bought back memories of swapping my 60 El Camino three speed for an aluminum close ratio T10 four speed. Being a dumb kid, my project planning skills were lacking, and I did not think about the T10 being longer than the three speed. I did not realize the issue until the three speed was out and sitting next to the T10 and I had rented some evening time during the week on a service station hoist to do the swap, so I was committed. But, back then there was one Chevrolet dealer parts department in town that stayed open late, and they had the shorter front part of the driveline in stock. Got the driveline swapped, just using hand tools and project completed. Kind of amazing to think about those kinds of parts being in stock nowadays let alone be available at night!
Back in the early 70's my family & I were on vacation crossing the mountains in West Viginia ... I was in the rear of our station wagon ( I was 8 or 9 yrs old) when I saw a wheel running down the road behind us... My mom was driving & I told my mom , there's a wheel rolling down the road... Its was our drivers side rear wheel ... My mom didnt get it off the interstate before it sat down on the hub... My dad was asleep when all this happened & he was yelling at my mother to get the wagon off the road... She could'nt ... My dad jumped out & realized the wheel was gone ... He recruited me to help find our wheel.. It was 100 yards up the side of the mtn , buried in grass & brush... We got towed to a garage where it was discovered all 5 lugs on the wheel broke off & the other wheels all had broken lugs... Right before we left for vacation my dad had new tires mounted ... Turns out , the idiot who used an impact to tighten the lug nuts , over tightened them .. All 4 wheels had to have new lug bolts installed.. When we got home , my father went back to the tire shop with a tow bill , a repair bill , and evidence of the broken lugs... The mngr started to deny any wrong doing until my dad grabbed him by the throat & explained to him that we could've been killed & that he was gonna pay for the damage or make a trip to the hospital.. My dad had a very short fuse & was a champion boxer while serving in the U.S. Navy .. Not to mention he was a stout man at first glance .. The man paid up & my dad also warned the mechanic who mounted the tires .. Using a 3/4 inch air impact was stupidity ... It is common practice to use a torque wrench today.. Back then it was common to tighten it as tight as you can & then half a turn more..
always seems crazy to me that what pushes all that weight of steel is a pipe spinning and that it doesnt simply crumble, nnkh is a great channel salt of the earth people
When I worked for Boeing one of my coworkers worked for Boeing on the Saturn V (Boeing was prime contractor on the first stage). He drove his family to Huntsville in a brand new VW bus. On the way they drove through weather. He got out and almost went down (or did go down?). He attributed the Bus’ good traction to the German Continental tires. I think he believed they were still made using natural rubber.
Id like to pass along a trick I learned for packing bearings. Put the grease in a sandwich sized ziplock bag. Put the bearings in the bag and work the grease in without covering yourself in grease.
The El Camino is coming along. No need to have that shortened driveshaft balanced? Great to see Chris and Jen. Didn't know Jen was prego. Congrats to them.

My 1983 F-150 had a flat spot on the rotor when I got it. Before I replaced it, the wheel made a chirping sound when I drove it. The chirping got faster the faster I drive.
First of all I want to say happy Fourth of July, and I would also like to say that you guys are getting that sucker together. Hopefully one day I can get out to your neighborhood and meet you guys as your meeting with Chris and Jen that's great that's what it's all about. What I wanted to tell you is when you got a fire in the carburetor like that just hit the starter and suck it into the engine it'll save you a lot of time from catching stuff on fire that's for sure, I didn't know if you knew that or not but yeah that's an old trick we used to do. Anyway Travis it's nice to be watching more videos with you and your dad. That relationship that you guys have is great I used to do the same thing with my dad when I was younger, he's gone now for a long time and my time is also running short on this Old Blue Rock. Anyway I wanted to say God bless and take care.❤
There’s those brake lines you mentioned in the live lol, at least you weren’t flaring them while they were on the car. Also I can never get that type of flare tool to work right, unless I can tighten it like that. Hard to do when the line is on the car lol
As I watch your video, I'm also watching the twilight zone. And when you stood up the visible pump a guy in the twilight episode was in a small town getting gas at a visible pump just like it.

Good morning and Happy 4th of July!
They were still using those style pumps at all the mom and pops convenience stores when i was a little kid. They were fascinating for little kids.
Happy Fourth of July 🎉. What a terrific pitcher in the thumbnail
Great content Travis, love NNKH, HAPPY 4th of JULY .

Also, the chinese are adding soy to the rubber they make. Tires are really suffering because of this.
thats a good point it still shouldn't just be destroyed like that but hey that the world we live in!
