Noa Zur ya, good luck on that. He never does that. This channel doesn't offer tutorials per say. There are a good amount of actual tutorials on UA-cam from real good artists that will actually encourage and teach you to apply their lessons, like explain tones, values, colors, and how to put them all together.
Hello, I’ve been watching your youtube channel since the beginning. I just wanted to say I really appreciate the narrated videos. Hearing about the creative process is always fun. Greetings from Turkey!
I just found your channel and have been binge watching your videos for 2 days. I so admire how you start with the eyes and use multiple colors for the face. I am trying so hard to adopt your technique. It is literally breathtaking. You are so talented, your work is inspiring!
It's so cool watching the process (even at speed) from the initial strokes to the intermediate moves and at some point...POW! The realism of the subject becomes suddenly apparent in just a second or two. That transitional point is just amazing, fun, and beatiful! Thank you so much for these "reveal moments" in your work!
I don't understand how you figure out and paint perfect values on a completely white surface. The eye whites looks completely off until you complete the surroundings. That means you don't compare relative values but paint in absolutes somehow?
@defdac Mix and match the colour of your paint to the colour of the photograph, this way you can start your painting anywhere on the canvas. Just make sure that you got it right, value and colour before you apply to the canvas.
He doesn't show or explain anything like other great tutorials. No tones, values, even colors used. This is apparently, pretty much a philosophical bragging channel, not a learning oil painting channel.
I love your videos. It's so relaxing for me to watch you paint, plus it's the most informative painting channel I found on youtube. Please continue, everything you do is amazing and I like your openness on the subjects surrounding being an artist.
Your words are such an inspiration for a lost artist like me. I enjoy watching your videos and seeing your process. It is very therapeutic, Thank you for sharing!! 😍💕
your principle on noses is applicable to alot of different aspects of a persons face. Eyes, eyelashes, eyebrows, the lips, the folds of the lips. They all effect how the mind sees the image and enjoy it. I believe you're just good at getting the proportions down for those different details that you disregard those aspects. It's not a big deal i just think it's interesting you prioritized the nose when most artist prioritize the eyes because of how they connect to the viewer. It's almost like you've had problems getting the nose to come out right in the past. You make beautiful work altogether. I'm learning alot from your vids as I go into Oil paintings!
to be honest i've only watched 2 of your videos and each for less than 30 seconds was kinda saving data but wow i've learned a lot👏👏👏 i'll get data tomorrow , i'm an artist and a singer(also do covers) so you're great man , you got a new subscriber
Thank you for another amazing video! Do you mind if I ask how many hours it took to complete this painting, and over how many days? Time-lapse is wonderful, but it often distorts the reality of how much hard work and patience it takes to create something beautiful.
Another absolutely amazing video!❤️❤️ I'm just so glad that you started doing voiceovers! By the way, recently I started using paint roller, found it very enjoyable, but I was wondering if there's a possible way to clean it 🤔
I have always used toilet paper as my barrier between my hand and illustration board when I am drawing. I use it to blend too. I use it to blend my makeup too
Hi, Your philosophy and the way of making art meet my criteria of what it means to make art. Bright fresh colors and contrasts. Current, expressive and intriguing subjects will ensure that those who look at your works in a hundred or more years will understand that they belong to this time. Some painters paint subjects like in past centuries, and I've always wondered why ?! What are they telling about their time or their thinking? Anyway, good! Bravo! I like a lot the subjects you paint, Do you take photos on your own to your subjects? They are always fascinating and somewhat ambiguous! So if you have a suggestion on where to find beautiful photos to use as a subject, I would be grateful. Good life!
You're clearly very skilled. You've made a point of signing off with "Yeah. . . have a good one" which feels artificial after a few videos saying the same thing. Breaking up a finished surface with a background color might be cathartic for you, but it feels gimmicky over time. I've seen enough artists employing this device (Christian Hook and many others) to where it just feels like a gimmick. Not taking cheap shots -- I really like your videos and your commentary. I'm nowhere near your abilities. I think you're awesome and hope you continue with your wonderful posts.
researching oil painting and you mention that safflower oil is faster drying medium than a lot of others. But, when I view other resources they say safflower dries really slow and that gamblin quick dry medium which is safflower with an acid additive, should be used thoughts?
I really love your videos, they're a great look into your progress! I've been looking into using wax as a medium for my oil paints, is there any you could recommend?
Efe i do'n't know if you know to speak Turkish :D so tried to ask in english. how did you started your painting journey? another one is did you always draw like this or tried other methods like classic portrait painting techniques. You know blocking like italian florence style :D or wet on wet.
Can you make a video about your home made medium mixes? Im in the process of finding what I prefer, and Ive heard from a few artist that they mix their medium...and Id love to know what you find yourself mixing for your own. 🙏🏼😊 Thanks
What I lo e about watching this kind of videos is that every artis has a different technique and tricks to get their paints done. I'm still trying to figure out the color mixing
every site i've read says safflower oil dries very very slowly compared to linseed and drying poppy, and it never completely dries in the deeper layers. ppl say if u leave the painting in hot weather under sun it will literally melt & drip. i see it's considered one of the slow drying oils... idk where u got the info that it dries fast but i cant find it. if u use it alongside liquin it makes some sense, otherwise...
Anytime I paint I sometimes use my fingers to smear colors whether I’m using watercolor, oil, or acrylics because I’m used to working in soft pastels/charcoal😂
I love your work a lot, i think your colors are famazing. I dont understand why the tracing and not drawing? It would look more natural/organic/more you.
Some parts of the skin are not skin tones, some strokes are grey or blue for example. How do you know where and when you should apply a colour that is not a skin tone? And why do you do it? Is it to make the face more realistic?
I'm pretty sure that many like me, just wonder what the purpose of those final background strokes onto the painting I mean sometimes it's kinda mix the painting with the background, but otherwise it doesn't make any sense to me??!
Can you make a video explaining about the pallet? How you put colors, mixing them and etc?..
Noa Zur ya, good luck on that. He never does that. This channel doesn't offer tutorials per say. There are a good amount of actual tutorials on UA-cam from real good artists that will actually encourage and teach you to apply their lessons, like explain tones, values, colors, and how to put them all together.
Yeah 👍👍👍
Watching your videos are sooo relaxing! I usually watch these when I feel depressed, and I feel better, thank you!

Fantastic work Alpay. Just beginning my oil painting journey after years of watercolour and acrylic. 👍
Beautiful work.....watch you all the time....to get of right....thank u again

That’s just a matter of experience, it’s something you do automatically once you have done it a few thousand times :)
Those are exactly the questions I had all my life for realistic painting artists but could never put them in words.
@@reenasharma3004 we aren't seeing a lot--- he could be matching colors and not filming that part
@defdac Mix and match the colour of your paint to the colour of the photograph, this way you can start your painting anywhere on the canvas.

Your work is absolutely inspiring! I especially find the abstractions riveting!
Благодарю за Ваши замечательные работы.
Великолепно!
I love how you work! And I love the effect that you give the painting with the backround!! You an awesome artist!!!!
One of the best artists talking about art great job
Just love your tutorials, great work as well 😁
I love your videos. It's so relaxing for me to watch you paint, plus it's the most informative painting channel I found on youtube. Please continue, everything you do is amazing and I like your openness on the subjects surrounding being an artist.
I love what you're doing here, so beautiful!! Much support from one artist to another :)
Your words are such an inspiration for a lost artist like me. I enjoy watching your videos and seeing your process. It is very therapeutic, Thank you for sharing!! 😍💕
Ok, in the description box you recommended people to check out James Gurney's latest video, that is just cool haha.👍
Of course, why not :)
James is also easy to recommend. An artist’s artist.
This Artist has gone through a new phase of making the perfect painting into a non finished painting. I respect him for his choice as he is very good.
Now I realised you must be a makeup artist as well when you'd like to draw women!!! Great painting!!!❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜
You are a very wonderful painter. I am a fan of your paintings
You are so consistent and insightful, thank you.
I love these paintings of yours, I wasn't sure about the abstract bit at the end but I think it adds to the overall effect. :-)

Your realism is awesome.
Great content. You teach painting like it should be. No rules.
You have inspired me to start painting again. Thanks Alpay.

Thank you for another amazing video! Do you mind if I ask how many hours it took to complete this painting, and over how many days? Time-lapse is wonderful, but it often distorts the reality of how much hard work and patience it takes to create something beautiful.
Took me two working days I would say
Lovely work
Another absolutely amazing video!❤️❤️ I'm just so glad that you started doing voiceovers! By the way, recently I started using paint roller, found it very enjoyable, but I was wondering if there's a possible way to clean it 🤔
Unfortunately they get unusable very quickly :)
That's Beautiful work
These are awesome.
This is so amazingly beautiful!!!
Can you pls write how long this painting took and put the sketching process. Do you just draw those lines for the portrait that perfect?
he uses a charcoal transfer
Loved! Awesome work and thoughts!
These are surprisingly therapeutic
In my opinion, in 6:55 the portrait is finished! After that, i don't understand, but I'm not the artist! Great job!
Gorgeous!
amazing work .respect to you
I love your voice!. Good Job man!
I really really love the fact that you don’t really care if a part of the painting is ruined instead you create something out of it
Loved this! Thank you so much!

Hello am from Colombia

Such an amazing painting. How much you sell that for? Congratulations

What brand paint do you use
Thank you 🙏
What brand brush, and size did you use on the face ?

Hi! I use acrylic paint and I try to use your technique on painting but I can't haha i guess i still need experience, any advice? Haha thank youu😅
Anytime I paint I sometimes use my fingers to smear colors whether I’m using watercolor, oil, or acrylics because I’m used to working in soft pastels/charcoal😂
Snap!
please explain pallete and colours u used
Strange you should mention safflower oil as being a faster drying oil - my experience is the opposite it drys slower.
🖤
I love your work a lot, i think your colors are famazing. I dont understand why the tracing and not drawing? It would look more natural/organic/more you.
it would be very helpful that you will show the reference photo
Can you list the brushes used? Thanks!!!
YOU ARE A FUCKING GENIUSSSSS

You really sound like Litomatoma (the naked cowboy) :D
I'm pretty sure that many like me, just wonder what the purpose of those final background strokes onto the painting

veri good sir salo me banaye
I dont understand why destroy your finish product! Is it like your signatures?
"You have to find out what works for you.... "
Lovely work and instruction but never get why you then have to deface it at the end. :)
Maybe allow the painting to be a painting perhaps Peter. Better to have an interesting painting than a realistic homage IMO.
