thank you for your commentary on this video! it's very insightful, I often get frustrated with painting because it doesn't go how I want/expect it to and I always thought it's just because I need to practice more so I can control things better but maybe I should just let things go and tackle it as a journey without a destination, like you said! (I still definitely need practice too but not having expectations should make it more enjoyable)

Just came across your channel a few minutes ago. Love the words you say...so encouraging for someone like me who is a trueee beginner.. So mylar is a thick die cutting sheet. Or stencil sheet. U can get at a craft store that sell cricut machines. I'm in the US so i see this material everywhere and in all sizes. U can paint on them

Great artwork as usual, with inspiring and educating advices. Love it! I almost completely agree with your philosophy however I didn’t understand the ‘I don’t paint for myself, I paint for my audience’ part :/. You mean like thinking about what people should see while they are looking at your work? I appreciate your own unique style and philosophy but, how can one create something without adding himself into the piece? Let me ask it this way, would you leave your journey if your soul that lives in your art didn’t satisfy the people?
“Painting should be an experience; a journey.” This is exactly the same thing my very first art teacher told me once long long time ago, I’ve never forget it and it shaped my whole art life. It made me a bit emotional hearing same words from you after years :’D. Thank you so so much!
I know you said that you paint only with your imagination most of the time, no plan or no sketch, just like a journey, wherever your feet take you (or at least I got it lol) but, how? How can you draw and paint so realistic without reference pictures or even without a shape in your mind?
Thanks for the kind words Burak!!! I’ll try to put out more content in the upcoming weeks... after all those years I have some catching up to do :).
To answer your question, let me put it this way... it would be a different journey then.
Btw. I do use photo reference of course, I can’t paint from memory :)

Excellent video. I paint with acrylic paint and i find that when I get my paintings "correct" when the paints are wet, the next day my work is wrong becuase its now too dark. Any tips on how to avoid this or get better results??

*watches him sketch for 3 hours, then watches him make the painting for 3 seconds, then watches him push color for 3 hours.
